Hello Youtube people, in today's video I'm going to show you how this beautiful watch
from Militado looks like on a bunch of different straps.
This video is sponsored by Militado.
Militado has sent me this watch for the video and I get to keep it.
Thank you Militado.
Technical specifications and measurements which I have done myself.
This watch naked of the strap weighs 41 grams.
Diameter of the case 37 mm.
Lug to lug distance 43.2 mm.
Lug width is 20 mm.
Thickness 9.5 mm.
It has flat sapphire crystal.
Inside this particular model we have VH31 quartz movement with sweeping seconds hand
but it is also available with the date window and ticking seconds hand movement.
The water resistance rating is 100 m together with a screw down crown and screw down case
back.
And the size of the crown is 7.5 mm.
Lume on this watch is very good, it's very beautiful and very strong.
I have already tested out this watch as my night watch for a couple of nights.
And to be honest I don't even need to charge this watch up before going to sleep, it's
enough to wear this watch in a bathroom while brushing my teeth.
And it does last till the morning without a problem.
So the color is blue, it's the same on indices and hands.
And speaking about intensity, hands are a little bit more intensive than the indices,
but the difference after charging it up only lasts couple of minutes and after couple of
minutes it evens out.
So the lume on this watch is actually very nice and very good.
So you can choose this VH31 movement which has sweeping seconds hand, but there is also
an option with the date window and ticking seconds hand to choose from.
And different colors, there is, well, this green looks absolutely stunning I must tell
you.
And I believe that the blue one also is gonna be just as pretty as this green one.
It's a very striking, very saturated beautiful color I think.
And there is a black one which I think it's, well, it's classy.
And most importantly I think black one looks rather cool.
It has somewhat cool vibe about it.
I actually like black quite a bit.
And there is brown which in my opinion looks probably the most special out of the bunch
because brown is a little bit unusual color and does have a little bit of a vintage flavor
probably.
At least in my eyes I like brown one as well very much.
And the reason why you see this green right now on your screen is because that's what
you voted for.
According to 384 votes this green without a date won by 32%.
The design on this watch is actually nothing new.
There are plenty of brands that make this particular design.
But there are couple of things about this particular Militado model why in my opinion
this watch stands out in a very very nice way.
For me personally I do like this watch very much.
And couple of those things are personal, subjective opinions, some things are objective.
So let me do a single take about this watch and let me tell you all.
First of all I love this design, absolutely wonderful design, but most watches or all
of them that I know of with this particular design have 39 or 40 mm sizes.
And for me they are a little bit too big.
This size 37 mm on my 16.5 cm or 6.5 inches wrist is simply perfection.
It's the sweet spot.
The size for me is simply wonderful, I love it.
And the size is one of those things that makes this watch stand out.
Because I don't know other watches with this particular design in this particular size.
Now another thing, most or probably all of those other watches come with automatic movements
as far as you know.
And for me, for a watch that I could use as a daily, for a watch that could simply live
on my wrist, the watch must be quartz.
So I can actually use all kinds of power tools with the watch on my wrist.
I can ride my mountain bicycle over rough terrains, take a little jumps and what not.
And I don't need to worry about this watch living on my wrist because I'm gonna suddenly
start running faster or slower.
So for me quartz is basically a must.
You know that's quite subjective thing but that's one of the very strong selling points
for me personally.
Now another thing, most watches with this particular design or probably all of them,
I'm not sure, come with very industrial looking case designs, usually just fully brushed and
most of them or probably all of them look just like a slob of metal and I really don't
like that.
It's nothing wrong on a tool style watch but this Militado watch really pushes the boundaries
you know and it definitely stands out with the finishing on the case.
First of all, shiny bezel on this watch might be debatable on military style watch, I understand
that.
But for me it looks really, really pretty.
I absolutely love shiny bezel on this watch.
It's like cherry on top of the cake.
It's beautiful and it's slim you know.
It has very nice proportions and the rehaut is not too deep and nothing.
It's beautiful, simply beautiful.
Now another thing which makes this watch a bit special out of the crowd is that, you
know, going forward on the finishing on the case, as you can see, the edges on those lugs
are very nicely finished, they are chamfered.
Not many watches at this price point have such nice finishing and speaking about military
style watches in general, that's a little bit unusual.
Not necessary but it's very beautiful attention to detail.
I like that a lot.
Now another thing, most watches with this style or probably all of them are very slob
sided, you know, they just look like a slob of metal.
Not this one.
I really like that the bottom edge of the case is like it follows the contour of the
lugs, you know, it's a little bit, it has this cut.
Okay, usually you would see like a slob of metal, not this watch.
Not only 9.5 millimeters is not much for a tool style watch like this one or military
style I should say, but also visually it looks even slimmer than that because of such design.
This is awesome.
I really like that a lot.
Now another thing I like, short lugs.
The strap is basically touching the case and I really like that.
It's so close that the case itself actually has this cut out, you know.
So even if you put a little bit thicker spring bars, you can still pass through a nylon strap
on this watch.
I know that.
I tried that.
It works.
And it's, hold on a second.
And it's actually awesome.
I love that attention to detail.
So those are the things.
Now other things, this watch has sapphire crystal.
Well, that's, that goes without saying.
It's basically a must for me personally, for, you know, for my kind of lifestyle, you could
say whatever.
For me, a sapphire crystal is a must.
And another thing, the sapphire crystal on this watch is actually really decent.
It has a really good clarity.
This watch is listed in specifications as if it has anti-reflective coating, colorless.
It's not super strong to be honest with you.
I don't think it's super strong, but what it probably does is that at certain angles
to the light, like right now, you look at the dial and it looks like there is nothing
in between you and the dial, you know, the clarity of this sapphire crystal at certain
angles is really nice, really nice.
So I wouldn't complain about sapphire crystal on this watch, especially at a given price
point.
Now, another thing, price point less than 70 euros.
Usually this watch goes for what you get for the money for less than 70 euros.
It's incredible.
Simply incredible.
This beauty for less than 70 euros.
This is amazing.
Now, another thing which is very objective, this watch has actually a very good lume.
I got this watch on a Friday morning and right now it's Monday and I have used this watch
for those days, you know, throughout the weekend and I used this watch as my night watch.
And the lume is actually awesome on this watch.
It lasts till the morning without a problem.
This watch has a very good lume.
Now, another thing for me personally, what is very, very nice is that it has a hundred
meters of water resistance, you know, screw down crown, screw down case back.
So basically for me, this watch is something that can do it all.
It can simply live on my wrist looking pretty and showing time.
And oh boy, does it look pretty.
This thing is just so beautiful.
My wife saw this watch and she was like, oh, this watch is nice.
My mom saw this watch and she was like, oh, that's a nice watch.
You know, everybody around me likes how this watch looks like.
And me, I absolutely love how this thing looks like.
And I love every single thing I just mentioned about this watch.
And just take a look at the sunburst effect on this dial while I move the light around
while holding the watch stationary.
It's a very, very strong sunburst effect.
It comes from very dark green to bright green without losing its saturation.
It's gorgeous, man.
This thing is so, so pretty and it's so active, so dynamic.
It looks amazing.
Now, all good and great, but this watch has one technical flaw is the crown on this watch.
It is 7.5 millimeters while the watch itself is 9.5 millimeters in thickness.
And this crown does extend a little bit past the case, as you can probably see.
And the problem is that it has relatively, well, rather sharp edges.
Now, this, this I believe is going to be a potential deal breaker for a lot of people,
but I want to point, put this in a nice way as this, well, for me personally is not a
deal breaker.
Okay.
I'm actually looking to buy another one because I regret not choosing this watch with the
date window and I'm surprised how much I do really like this watch and I want one for
myself and for myself, I need a date window, so I'm probably going to take brown one with
the date window.
So the crown is, you know, it's a compromise on this watch, but for me personally, it's
not a deal breaker.
And let me demonstrate, you know, the watch sits like this on my wrist.
It does touch, the crown does touch my wrist, but because my wrist is so bony, it's so flat,
it doesn't irritate me, you know, it doesn't get in the way.
Only when I twist my wrist like that, only then I can somewhat feel something like this
crown is touching my wrist.
But generally speaking, I worn this watch throughout the weekend and right now it's
really cold, minus 20 degrees Celsius, so I wear multiple layers and the winter coat
is hugging my wrist quite a bit.
So while this watch is sitting underneath, I haven't really noticed any discomfort, you
know, I can't really complain.
So for me, it's fine.
But I know many people wear a watch like this, you know, we all have different anatomy and
things feel different for us.
So if you wear a watch like this, then this watch is probably not for you because this
crown is going to be really annoying because I wear this watch over the wrist bone like
that and like that.
For me, there is no problem.
Now solution could be if you wear a watch on the wrist joint itself, you could wear
a watch like that, so like that's probably going to be fine.
Or like this, absolutely no problems whatsoever, you know, if you wear a wrist on a right wrist
watch.
Now there is a little solution, which I probably going to do off camera, is that I probably
going to pull this crown out and I'm going to sand off those sharp edges a bit because
for me that's, you know, less than 70 euros for such a pretty watch with such great specifications,
which also fit my personal requirements just perfectly.
For me, it's annoying, but it's not a deal breaker.
So I'm going to deal with that and I'm going to, you know, brush off this crown a little
bit.
So if you are scared of this watch because of this crown, I mean, you seriously, you're
losing a lot.
If you avoid this watch just because of this crown, you're losing a lot, you know.
Buy this watch, brush off this crown and that's it and you're going to have a wonderful, wonderful
watch.
That's just my point of view.
Now another surprising thing about this watch is that most Militado watches come on nylon
straps and those nylon straps, to be honest, they are, well, a little bit rough.
They feel a little bit like sandpaper, but to be honest with you, at these price points
that we are talking about, a watch could simply come without a strap whatsoever and
I wouldn't be complaining a single bit.
I'm just stating the fact that those nylon straps, they, well, they are a little bit
rough.
I don't care about that, but, you know, that's just how they are.
By the way, take a look at these watches, how pretty they are.
Man, Militado makes really nice watches, I must say.
This one also, look at the finishing on the case.
Now military style watch, look at those edges, shiny edges and slim profile and such a beautiful
piece of sapphire crystal on this watch.
Man, this thing is so nice.
This also has sapphire crystal, also very slim watch.
Man, I seriously like Militado watches.
So this one, this one was quite a surprise because the leather strap on this watch is
exceptionally nice.
Now the size of my wrist is 16.5 centimeters or 6.5 inches and I'm currently set on the
second hole and to be honest with you, the strap is currently is a little bit choking
my wrist, but if I set it on the third hole, it's a little bit too loose for me.
So anyway, as you can see, there is still plenty of strap left.
So if you have a bit bigger wrist, you're going to be fine, I believe.
Now this strap from up close, it's a little bit thicker strap, but it's soft, it's squishy,
it's nice to touch, it's flexible.
Man, this strap is amazing.
I have massaged it out because that's what I do with all the straps, but it wasn't really
necessary because it was actually flexible straight out of the box.
I just like that after massaging out, strap still gets a little bit more flexible and
I like that it gets those wrinkles.
I like how it looks like, it gives a little bit of aged effect.
So this strap tapers down right there quite aggressively.
I really like this kind of style.
It fits this watch beautifully, it looks really good.
It's like it's a perfect match for this watch.
It looks cool, you know.
And inside, that's how it looks like.
It's actually, I worn the strap and it seems to be breathable.
I can't really complain, it's a very nice strap, you know.
It's very, very surprising to get such a nice strap on a watch that costs less than 70 euros.
That's very unusual, to be honest with you.
Now even the finishing on the buckle, you know, even the finishing on the buckle is
actually nicer than most military style watch cases at this price point, you know.
Look, edges are polished out, the top is brushed and it has no sharp edges whatsoever.
Now let me lock it in place, let me demonstrate you how it looks like.
Okay, like so.
Let's pass through those keepers.
It's a little bit oversized, you know, this buckle is a little bit oversized,
but it's really nicely finished.
Very, very nice strap on this watch.
There is absolutely no reason to change it for anything else,
but it's a lot of fun, so I'm still gonna do that.
Now even though blue and green shouldn't really work together,
but because this strap has the same intensity of color and the same
kind of shininess as the dial itself, it's actually a very interesting nice match.
It quite elevates this green dial a little bit and I like this color contrast.
This is elastic nylon strap of particular design, which I think fits this watch very well.
It actually looks cool on this watch, it's a cool combination in my opinion.
And even though green strap on a green dial watch is a nice combination,
I actually like this brown a little bit better.
I like having this a little bit of color contrast, makes this dial pop out a little bit more.
A sailcloth style nylon strap, which has a little bit of a military vibe, I would say.
And yeah, on this watch it looks wonderful, very very nice combination for this watch.
I also like very much this gray strap, which is the same as the previous one.
It brightens up the whole image, you know,
everything looks a little bit more welcoming, a little bit more friendly somewhat.
And speaking of a military style, I probably don't have more militaristic style
strap than this one. This is basically as militaristic as it gets,
and it definitely looks really good on this watch.
This is a crazy horse leather strap, which is very nice strap,
and I think it looks great on this watch, very very nice match.
And another one, which is also crazy horse leather strap, except this one is blue.
And matching blue with green is a little bit difficult,
but this blue is a little bit desaturated, I would say, it's not so intensive.
So it actually looks nice on this watch, I probably actually like it even better than the green one.
This is a two-piece nylon strap, and I just like what I see,
that's why I show you this strap. I think it looks nice on this watch.
And as you guys call it, a rally style strap.
Yeah, looks very nice on this watch, it does look very nice on this watch.
And the same strap, except this one is black.
Black is cool, and that's how it looks like on this watch.
Yeah, it does look rather cool, I would say.
And the last one, that has this bright and happy image,
is this weird leather strap with bright brown color.
It creates a very nice contrast with this beautiful green dial.
For the ending of this video, I can tell you that I knew I was gonna like this watch,
because this is that particular style that I normally like very much.
But I'm still surprised how much I like this watch.
It just, I don't know, it just fits me so well, it just speaks to me, you could say.
Not only checks all the boxes, but it looks so pretty, so beautiful, I like it a lot.
It has its own flaws, you know, like this crown,
but for the given price point, for less than 70 euros,
I'm not gonna complain, you know, I still like it very much.
That's it, that's my take on this watch.
Thank you for watching, have a beautiful day, goodbye.
