I'm Jacky Sum, a Tai Chi instructor in Hong Kong. I am sharing this video of me doing the basic Tai Chi 8 forms, hoping to help gain more recognition of my skills in Hong Kong.
It's a great martial art style, great to do for leisure as well as for health.
Tai chi in eight forms. Commencing form. Place your left leg at shoulder width.
Raise your arms to shoulder level. Relax your knees. Whirl arms. Begin whirling your right arm
and push arm forward. Next, whirl your left arm. Push arm forward. Repeat once more.
Brush knee and twist step. Turn the upper body to the left.
Take one left bow step and push your right hand forward. Return to face the front.
Turn the upper body to the right. Take one right bow step and push your left hand forward.
Quart the horse's mane. Return to face the front. Turn to the left and take one left bow step.
Move your left palm facing upwards and right palm facing downwards. Return to face the front.
Turn to the right and take one right bow step. Move your right palm facing upwards and left
palm facing downwards. Wave hands like clouds. One to the left, two to the right. Repeat three
left, four right. Again five left, six right. Golden chicken stands on one leg. Shift your
body weight to left leg and raise your right leg to waist, pointing your toes to the ground.
Two, raise your left leg to waist height, pointing your toes to the ground. Heel kicks.
Cross your arms, kick your right heel. Cross your arms again and kick your left heel.
Grasp sparrow's tail. Take a right bow step. Fend off with your right arm, palms facing your chest.
Stroke to the left, cross hands and push. Retrieve backwards. Press downward and forward.
Return to the front. Take a left bow step. Fend off with your left arm, palms facing your chest.
Stroke to the right, cross hands and push. Retrieve backwards. Press downward and forward.
Cross hands. Return to face the front. Shift your body weight from the left to right while
making a circle with your hands and ending with shifting your body weight back to the left
while crossing your hands in front of your chest. Bring your body back up.
Closing form. Release your crossed hands and place them next to your hip. Bring your feet back together.
