So anyways, thank you for letting me be here. Thank you for coming on my Tik Tok.
All right. So since we're in Spokane, I'm going to see if Dan can, and if his
boat can, can do some cool stuff today. Ready? All right. I think we're ready.
You are into archery.
Yes.
That's pretty cool.
It's a very new thing for me and I'm loving it.
How, like how new?
New? Okay. So you want me to like tell the whole story?
Um, yeah, we're podcasting. I got time for that.
Okay, great. So I'm genuinely a little pissed off.
You make it look so easy. Rapid fire. Let's freaking go.
Dude, it never gets old. Every time you hit that, I'm literally like,
I mean, city girl gone country. All right. I'll leave a link guys. Cause I know you,
there's some Tik Tokers out there. What are you doing on Tik Tok?
I'm just having fun, honestly. Like I have been
shooting arrows and then I was like, you know what, this is like,
like, let me film it. Right. And then it just was like, all right, this is way too much fun to stop.
So I just kept like rolling with it, you know, and definitely doing my banter,
like in mixed in with it. I look like a complete goober, but I'm just like, I love it, you know?
So I'm trying to like challenge myself every day to like, you know, dive deeper into it and like,
you know, shoot farther. And a lot of people are like, don't be adjusting your own bow,
but I like to self-learn and I don't really have the capabilities to like go to like
a bow shop and get it all set up and whatnot. So it's just been documenting that journey.
All right, Raya. Let's see it. I have not seen you shoot your bow, your bear. What is it?
Bear Royale.
Royale?
Yeah.
Sounds fancy.
Fancy. Very fancy.
Okay.
How far is this?
It's like 25 yards.
Okay. So.
Uh, yeah.
Yeah.
Dude, that's awesome. So whisker biscuit.
Stabilizer.
A sight.
Yeah.
What about a quiver for hold your arrows?
Pocket.
Yeah.
Pocket quiver. Okay. Shoot one of my arrows. Let's see what happens.
I can do this?
Uh, yeah.
With my bow?
Yeah, definitely.
But wait, isn't there like a whole thing with like grain and like tip and.
Yeah, definitely.
Why is this thing so skinny?
What's your arrows weigh by chance?
Like the grain?
Yeah.
500.
That's the spine.
Spine, grain.
Yeah.
500.
Yeah. Use your second pin. Smoke that out with my arrow.
Second pin. Smoke that. I'm going to be smoking that out one day.
Be smoking that out.
Just saying. Okay. Wait, hold on. I don't like where I'm standing.
Why did that happen?
That's good.
Wow.
Is that where you're aiming?
Yeah.
Nice.
So, but you're out of arrows. You only have two arrows left.
Yeah.
What happened?
Um, I started out with six. I cut them with a table saw.
Okay. Don't do that ever again.
Yeah. I know. I just thought that like,
I didn't have like a Dremel or anything and I didn't want to go to a bow shop.
So I was like, this will work, you know?
And then I, um, was too afraid to use two of them.
Cause they were like pretty not in good shape.
Yeah. And then I lost two and now I have two.
Borrow mine.
So aim a little higher.
Use your second pen again and just aim a little higher.
Oh, that's awesome.
Wait, no, don't show me that.
You stole my knock.
How did that happen?
We're different knock sets.
You've never been to an archery shop with your bow?
Okay. That's, I mean, to me, I'm all about like, so learning archery is never ending.
That's why I like it.
It's just like, you never master it.
And then also like, for me, it turns off all the noise.
Like, this is like a year journey that I'm on and I'm like having so much fun.
Right. And I'm like cracking jokes and I love it.
But like behind the camera, it's like, this is something that I'm like serious about.
And like, you know, I'm taking more shots beyond of what I'm filming just to like
really dial in, try to get a group or, you know, just be more confident.
I mean, I was at the range back here today and there's like a little pig target with
like metal, a broken arrow.
Steel target.
So that's the thing.
It's like, I want to be confident that like, okay, I can hit that.
I know I can hit that.
Right.
We all want that.
I can't see anything.
Too bright out?
No. And just like nervous.
Well, this is good.
Cause you're gonna be nervous when an elk steps out in front of you.
Oh my gosh.
That's a perfect shot.
Dude, I will give you that.
So I aimed between the second pin and the third pin because the first, the second pin
was too low.
The third pin was too high.
So what does that leave you?
Smackeroony in the middle.
Do it again.
Yeah, do it again.
I can do it again.
Wow.
Hand over my Knox.
Aren't these things supposed to be like glued in or something?
No, you don't want to glue them in, but they don't come out, but they do.
Okay, hold on.
My peep twists a lot.
Yeah, it does.
Who tied that peep in?
Not me.
So much pressure on the last shot.
Not bad.
I'll give you one of these.
All right, let's go pull.
Yeah.
So like my whole goal is just keep up with TikTok.
I just enjoy it.
I think it's so fun.
And just like to add on to that, like I kind of was telling you earlier, like I really
do believe that laughter is the best medicine.
So like, even if I can just brighten like a few people's day, that's a win for me, you
know, and I, I just love it.
Like I'm out there, I'm having a great time.
My neighbors are like, they love me.
Let's just say that.
But I think on YouTube, like it'll be the backside of like what it takes to kind of
get yourself ready to go hunting.
Yeah.
So, cause there's way more into it, right?
That's a story to tell.
Yeah.
So, and I mean, I start from nothing.
Cause like all I know right now is like, it's a big deal to be a good shot, you know?
Cause that's like the moment, right?
But like, can you, especially public, right?
Hunting elk, I keep hearing, you got to get out, you got to get out in there.
That's what I hear.
So like, can I get out in there?
That's the question, right?
And so, I mean, I want, I want it to not be too difficult, if that makes sense.
Yeah.
I don't want to be like, you know, like I want to be like, whew, all right.
Like that was like, let's now we're here.
Let's get it.
Instead of like, oh my gosh, like that was a lot.
I need more water.
You know what I mean?
Like, I just don't, I just want to prep for that.
Well, there's still one stuck here.
Oh, I need that.
I know.
I just can't get it out.
Oh, I did it.
You did it?
Yeah.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Okay.
Seriously though.
Oh my gosh.
Black Eagle is going to get you.
You ordered some arrows from Black Eagle.
Yeah.
I got these off like Amazon.
6.3 grains per inch.
What does that mean?
I don't know.
Okay.
It means 6.3 GPI.
GPI.
And you're using bone.
Did you fletch these yourself?
I did.
Nice.
Yeah.
Was it scary?
It was a very clean procedure.
That's all I can say.
So you've never been to an archery shop.
Do you think you ever will go?
Okay.
I'm starting to learn that like, that's probably.
Do you know that's an archery shop right there?
Oh, I could literally just run there.
They're open.
They'll take your money.
That's the dangerous thing about living so close to an archery shop
is that they can take my money real quick.
But yeah.
And like, I don't know.
I feel like if I shoot there and something happens,
they'll like on your way out, they'll be like,
well, I can fix all your problems.
And oh, you need more arrows.
We can make.
Yeah.
Especially when you hit that steel target.
Okay.
I really don't want to miss the target.
How'd that feel?
I mean, I feel like I just hit the 11 with this.
I don't know what that means.
It's the very center of the center of the center.
Bam.
Smooth like butter, baby.
Here we go.
She's hooked in.
We got 80 pounds, 85 or 80% let off.
Are you trolling me right now?
For what?
I thought you shoot mine.
I'll shoot yours.
Okay.
This is not funny anymore.
I can't do it.
Like decision, right?
Like that's the moment where you're like,
is everything I worked so hard for going to happen or not?
And are you going to actually capitalize?
Yeah.
And if you don't or you miss or you don't even get a shot,
you got the rest of your to think about it.
Yeah.
Dude.
Yeah.
That's pretty good.
Guys, this is Raya.
She's got a new channel coming out and she also has an Instagram.
We'll leave a link in the video description.
What'd I say?
Instagram.
Try this again.
And guys, this is Raya, my new archery friend from Oregon.
You're like a city girl.
That's like gone country.
100%.
You should use that as your handle.
That's a good, that's a good idea.
Yeah, definitely.
And if you do want to check out our tech talk or her new YouTube channel,
I'll put a link in there.
But honestly, guys, for me as kind of an old dude,
I love seeing newer archers.
And then add in that you're like a rock star mom and you have a busy life,
but you love archery and you're just getting into it.
I'm here for that.
And I want you guys, if you are in the same journey,
I want to follow along with her.
Check her out.
Remember, separations in the preparation.
We'll catch on the next one.
Bye.
Why don't you get a new bow?
Probably like whatever bow you can, you know, it's in your budget.
Does it have to be a Matthews?
No, it does not.
That's one thing about me is I just,
I think you're ready to get a bow that can go out to maybe even up to 50 pounds.
And you're strong.
You'll be pulling 50 in no time.
But someone told me like go up half a turn every week.
Yeah. And your bow's maxed out right now?
About to be.
Okay. Yeah.
Once you've maxed it out for a little while,
then it's time to probably like rip the bandaid off, get yourself a new rig.
And honestly, if you have any...
So I won't be hunting with this bow next year.
It's time to say goodbye to the Royale.
But I think you can hand it down to your three-year-old when they're a little bit older.
And then get yourself in a position to where you can
grab that new bow and bring it to me and I'll build it for you.
Oh, nice.
Or come down here to Josh Jones.
I'll introduce him and we'll get it super tuned.
Get you shooting broadheads.
And then you can just do your thing and bring,
like your channel is going to show people your journey.
And I think there's a lot of people that would be here for it.
Like they want to watch you become an elk hunter.
And you can elk call.
Like for real.
I wish you would have brought elk calls.
I would have like showed...
Did you bring any elk calls?
No, I didn't.
I was thinking about it too.
I would show you off.
Like that is legit.
Like there are some grown ass men who struggle with a diaphragm raid.
And here you are just like, did it come easy?
It came so easy.
I don't know why.
People hate you.
That's awesome.
