Hey everyone it's Sam here and today kickstarts my Easter spring series for 2026. I have two
hampers that I'm going to be making, one for my six-year-old nephew who is soon to be six
and one for my very needy auntie who has expressed her love of my paper crafts and after seeing my
nan with all of the wonderful hampers that I sent her she said I want one so I'm going to make her
one as well. So this is going to be for Charlie and it's just a cute little double lidded,
double-sided little basket there and I have already started to collect so I know lots of
you enjoy my series when I do these themed ones so I went to Home Bargains, picked these up they
were all a pound each I think these were 60p so I'm probably going to put a little mix of those
or maybe just all of those in there and just keep collecting these bits but I've got some really
nice ideas like I said they're the Easter spring theme so if you don't want to do like Easter
projects but you just want to send some nice Easter and some spring packaging then hopefully
this will give you some inspiration and with most of these 3D boxes and things that I make you don't
need any dyes either so hopefully everybody can join in so let's get started and I'll show you
how to make it. So you're going to see this paper pad and this one feature a lot, I think I got
these maybe two years ago from the range and this one's very cute, some really cute images there
and then this one here you've got some nice background ones like this this stripy one here
I'm going to add a little sign on this one as well maybe a little tag hanging off of there
with some strings you'll see that at the end and this was the sticker sheet that I used,
I can't remember where I got this it was in my Easter box but I just popped a little puffy
sticker so I thought these are good for Charlie but yeah like I said I can't remember where that
one's from it's going to be like the works, go to the works, the range, B&M, Home Bargains,
they've got all their Easter stuff in and they've got the Easter crafts and that's where you're
going to get all that stuff so get in there now while they're just putting it all out
and then you've got it ready. So it's a nice easy one it's deconstructed and I've also done it so
that you can cut two pieces from a sheet of A4 so there's only a quarter inch tab which is still
plenty but I just wanted to you know get as much out of the cardstock really so this is a piece
you want two pieces that are eight and a quarter by five and a half and along the eight and a
quarter side you're going to score at six and eight so that's your quarter inch tab rotate it
so that's now at the bottom and then score it two along the short side and you want to do that on
both pieces and then this is a piece of eight by four and you want to score it one inch on all
four sides so one, one, one and one and then pop it along the long side and you want to also score
at three and a half and four and a half and this is your lid then I've got this piece which is
a four length you can have it a bit shorter if you want 11 will be fine by one inch but you need
it one inch because that will fit in between this section here but you can have it shorter
it could be ribbon string and you could even go without it's up to you fold and burnish all of
those score lines okay I've just cut that one because you're going to do these pieces both the
same so with the quarter inch tab on your right hand side you want to cut up these two score lines
just to that first score line or the only one just cut up like so and then remove that piece
all together okay and then I like to cut a wedge off of the sides here a little wedge off of here
and that's our tab and just tidy up any I can see there some of the score lines still attached
I'm just going to cut up so that's nice and straight there we go I'm just going to use
the quick grab glue here just run that down and then focusing on this base score line
sit this one over the top and just make sure it's nice and straight if the tops are a little bit out
you can always trim that but you want to make sure that these score lines line up
otherwise you're going to have a wonky box okay and then flip it over fold this one over where
you've got your tab add your glue and then fold this half over just give that all a good burnish
and then flip it on the back I'm going to stick this side down first I'm going to use the
construction glue and just want to cover all of that this is just going to dry nice and hard and
make it really strong if you've got something a bit heavier but definitely use a construction glue
and then stick down the sides a bit more glue over the top and then that one it just means it's
nice and neat when they look in you don't see any of the seams and you can just go in there
just spread all that glue out whilst that's drying we can start putting the lid together
so with this one you want to cut up this score line just to the first one so you freed up that
little square and then these ones actually just all of those score lines would be easier to say
and then flip it this way and do the same and then the outer ones you just want to take a little wedge
off of both sides we're going to fold these in and then leave the middle ones keep them square
again just tidy up and see a little bit of a score line left on that side just make sure they look
nice and neat so we're going to put this all together when it's on the box so before we need
to cover the sides because you're going to go over that so i've got this is that pattern paper i've
just used the same stripe just so i'm getting it all used up really so i've got two pieces that are
three and a quarter by five and three quarters for the front and back and then for the sides i've got
two pieces that are one and three quarter by three and a quarter so get those all stuck down once
you've got all that stuck down you want to take this one and you're going to add your glue to the
two middle squares so this one and this one and just lay it down so the glue's not touching anything
and just push this these ones down first these edge ones the outer ones because you know then
that that is right in the middle so once you're happy that they're in place you just want to push
those down just let those stick you want to then lift one side up just to get in there
push those down a bit easier bring that one back lay it on its side you can go in there just really
burnish each side make sure it's nice and secure next you're going to add your glue to these outer
squares so this one and this one and then if you lift these ones up fold that down and just tuck
them around and then close these down and you'll get a perfect closure just keep that all in place
do the same with this side okay so you should now have your little box like I said you can
keep it like this it looks quite nice if you've got too much in it so the lids lift up and then
you've got maybe like bits of straw shredded paper coming out the sides I think that looks
really cute it also looks a little bit like a shirt collar and this could be a tie so you
could turn this into a masculine make as well I think that would look cute and then this one
you just want to add a little curve into it and you're going to add your glue onto this square
and this square and just attach it to both sides so it looks like this I'll just give you the
measurements of these pieces so to decorate the tops here you'll want two pieces of two and a
quarter by one and three quarters and then I've embossed these pieces here so you've got four
pieces for the two long front sections and the back those are three quarters of an inch by two
and a quarter and then you've got two for the sides here and the middle they're all the same
so you want three pieces that are three quarters of an inch by one and a quarter so I'm going to
get that all set down put the handle on decorate it and then I'll show you at the end okay so those
are the finished boxes and then I'm not going to add I'm going to put these ones in that one I'm
going to leave this one because there's going to be more adult chocolates and nice like hamper
foods and stuff going in this one but for Charlie he loves the cheap and cheerful chocolates and
loads of them plus like easter eggs and all that lot so if you're not following me then please do
so because you can then follow the series also have a look at all my old easter projects as well
almost 10 years worth of easter makes so it's 10 years of youtube next next january so yeah now
look I can get loads more in there but I'll probably mix a few easter eggs like the small
like cream eggs and stuff like that in there as well but yeah it does hold a lot so even if it's
not for easter you know it's gonna be a nice little gift box or other you know birthday presents just
because gifts and things like that but I will share what I do put in these and I will share
a finished kind of video of the hampers and I've got lots of baskets up in the loft which I'll get
down put all of the shredded paper in and then I'll be adding all of these bits to it so this
is the first one they're all big you know kind of this kind of size I've got bigger gift boxes
and bags already on the channel so if you did want something bigger as an easter theme then
do check out the I'll pop this in the gift bag gift box playlist that'll be coming up now
so have a look look there I'll also have the easter series or easter makes I'll have a
playlist for that as well so you can check all of those out but I hope you've enjoyed this one
