Hi, I'm a baby panda.
Yes, the fluffiest creature you've ever seen in your entire life.
You're welcome.
Right now I'm just lying here on this nice warm floor.
And honestly, this is my happy place.
Some pandas climb mountains.
Some pandas eat bamboo all day.
Me, I prefer the floor.
The floor is my best friend.
We have a very deep connection.
Oh, by the way, did you know giant pandas spend about 12 hours a day eating?
That's basically my dream lifestyle.
But right now I'm too busy being adorable to eat.
It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.
Okay, so there are a few of us here.
And we're all doing what pandas do best.
Absolutely nothing productive.
Look at my friend over there.
Just...
Existing.
Beautiful.
I respect that deeply.
Now we're heading outside.
Fresh air.
Adventure.
Leaves.
Oh wow, there are so many leaves.
I don't know what to do with leaves, but I feel like I should investigate every single one of them very seriously.
There's another panda near me and I think they're trying to climb on my back.
Excuse me, I did not consent to this.
I am a distinguished young panda and I deserve personal space.
But also, it's kind of warm so I'll allow it.
Oh look, I found a stick.
This stick is mine now.
I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but possession is nine-tenths of the law and I am the law.
I'm now trying to squeeze through this bamboo area.
You might be thinking, little panda, you are too round for that gap.
And to that I say, watch me, I am very motivated.
My mom is somewhere in that direction and I have important things to tell her.
Mostly just hide, but it's still important.
Actually, I can't find mom.
This is fine. Everything is fine.
I'm not scared. I'm a big strong panda.
I'm just going to sit here and look at this wall for a second.
Back with my friends now.
There's like three of us piling on top of each other and nobody seems to mind.
This is just what we do.
We are a chaos pile of fluff and we are thriving.
Hey, this wooden platform is actually really fun.
Me and my buddy, I think her name is Yayu and mine is Chengxi.
We've been wrestling for about ten minutes and nobody has won.
This is how panda friendships work. You just wrestle indefinitely.
Oh, the nice human in the blue outfit is here. I love her.
She smells like bamboo and safety.
I'm going to climb on her immediately.
She didn't ask for this, but she seems very happy about it.
You know, we baby pandas are only about the size of a stick of butter when we're born.
Yes, really, a stick of butter.
And then we grow into this absolute unit of cuteness.
Nature is incredible.
The caretakers here at the Chengdu Research Base work really hard to make sure we grow up healthy and strong.
I personally say thank you by sitting on them.
It's my love language.
I've had a very full day.
I rolled around. I wrestled. I investigated some leaves.
I got carried by a human. I tried to fit through a gap I definitely couldn't fit through.
Classic panda day.
Now I'm just here, tucked under this little wooden shelter, taking a well-deserved rest.
The sun is warm. The leaves are crunchy.
My belly is full.
Thanks for spending time with me today.
I hope your day is as soft and round and wonderful as I am.
Please make sure to come visit me again soon. Bye-bye.
