Jason walks through this 1966 Ford F100 slick side build and the one thing that didn't go as planned — the interior. The customer saw the color in person, second-guessed the choice, and Jason agreed it wasn't right. So they're tearing it out and starting fresh. That's how it goes sometimes when the standard is getting it perfect, not just getting it done.
This truck is stacked. Whipple 3.0L supercharged Coyote, six-speed manual, brand new chassis, and FFG's all-in-one radiator setup with the condenser and intercooler packaged together for 61-66 trucks. There's a lot hiding under that hood and Jason breaks down how it all fits — because a Coyote swap is never as simple as people think.
We're also showing off some brand new FFG billet parts on this build. Our 1961-66 billet aluminum door handles are now available on the site — polished, clean, timeless design that fits the look of these trucks without going overboard. And coming soon: a matching polished billet side mirror that mounts from the inside with no visible screws. This is the first truck to wear both. Check out the door handles here: https://fatfender.com/products/ffg-billet-aluminum-door-handles-1961-66-ford-trucks

Hey, everybody, we have a 1966 Slick Scythe,
which is kind of your 61 to 1966 Ford F-100.
He said, I don't think I like the color.
Oh, frustrating.
But sometimes this is how it goes.
We're going to break down some cool features.
Follow along.
Hey, everybody, I'm Jason with Fat Fender Garage,
and we have a really nice 1966.
When I say nice, I may have understated that a little bit.
We have an amazing 1966 Ford F-100
that belongs to some friends of ours.
And this thing is bad to the bone.
So we've done a lot of really cool things to it.
We haven't talked about this truck a lot.
We're missing a hood.
That's kind of the one last little piece we got to put on this truck.
And that's because we're waiting for the final pieces of our customized
billet hood hinges for the 61 to 66 Ford Slick Scythe trucks.
So they're coming.
I should see them in the next week, hopefully.
So then we'll get the hood on and all the little doodads to make that work.
So but let's talk about this truck.
So this truck has a brand new chassis underneath it.
We've got six speed manual.
We've got a Whipple 3.0 liter supercharger.
Of course, we got this radiator in here.
This radiator is what we call the beast of a radiator
where all of this is internally built.
We've got our condenser.
We've got our intercooler right here.
And it's all one nice package unit
for the 1961 1966.
We already got 6772.
We've got this.
And so it is just a nicer product.
Everything is just compact and in there for money, obviously.
But at the end of the day, you know, we were looking for
just a really good product that performs well.
Of course, we got our fat fender garage ECU box
that we kind of tucked right in here.
And of course, you know, we've got some of this
some of this stuff here that is all tied together.
This is our power steering
reservoir right here.
So anyways, we've got our clutch right here.
Just tucked right in here so you can access that.
And of course, we got this really nice intake going right into there.
Very tight.
There's a lot underneath the hood here.
And there's a lot that makes all this stuff work.
Everybody thinks that it's just, oh, just get a coyote,
stick it in and a couple of little things and fire it up.
Holy crap. There's a lot that goes into these things.
So now our friend really wanted this color.
And he wanted to keep all the original trim.
So he he got some brand new trim.
It's beautiful, nice trim.
And he wants everything to just be polished and this dark green.
So that's what we've done.
We even have design. Check this out.
This is the first that we have used.
And this is a beautiful polished billet Ford inspired.
Really nice side mirror, along with the 1961 66 billet door handle.
So this is the first guy to get these.
And so he's got these.
They're super nice, super good quality.
They work really good.
And then we've got this mirror.
You don't have the screws that you see like on the Ford's.
You screw it on.
This actually is on there nice and tight.
It's got a plate behind it.
There's a stud.
And so it bolts from the inside.
Super good quality. Really clean.
Do you know anything about me?
I like nice, clean, timeless.
Looks good, but isn't like a bunch of holes in it
and looks like a, you know, real crazy.
I'm I like things that are timeless and that you can put on any truck. Right.
But it's just nicer.
It's better.
And so super cool.
All right.
So funny story about this truck.
You check this out.
We actually have the carpeting done, the door panels done, the seat done
and the customer saw it.
And he said, I don't think I like the color.
I think I'm second guessing myself.
And he actually spot on.
I was actually second guessing it myself, too.
But it's kind of one of those things you thought,
well, let's just see what it goes in.
And he validated what I was thinking.
And so we're we actually picked out a new interior color.
We hadn't finished it, but he's got another slick side.
And so we're going to move those
materials and seat and he's going to go in his other slick side,
which I think it'll work out great.
But this thing's bad to the bone and it's got to be right.
And so so anyways, a few little things coming.
You can see some of the components here that we're going to use
for his little air conditioning balance that we've had.
We've got ready to go on this truck.
And so those who get painted to match and look really sharp on the inside.
So all that material got ordered up the last few days for new leather.
And we'll get to start again. Right.
We'll do it again.
So we took the carpeting out.
The carpeting probably could have worked,
but I found one that was just a tiny bit better that we got from Douglas.
And I like the texture in it and the way the way it flows a little bit better.
And I think it's going to be a little bit nicer.
Look, so frustrating.
But sometimes this is how it goes.
It's hard to be flawless all the way through.
But I feel really good about what we picked out.
So I'm really excited about it.
He's got these beautiful shot wheels that he's picked.
And at the end of the day, you know, it's it's mean green
fighting the machine right here.
So so we're really excited about, you know, getting this this thing on the road.
It does run. It does drive.
It moves under its own power, but we want to get the hood on it
and get a few more little things done before we say good to go.
So stay tuned.
Wait for these hinges.
Those will be cool. Those will be on the site soon.
I believe these are actually already on the site.
If you got a slick side and you want to check these out,
these are already on the website and we're we're selling those right now.
So I don't know if we've even told anybody about those yet.
You're in it for the very first time.
So anyways, follow along, like, subscribe.
We're going to have more updates on this as it gets done.
But a beautiful 1961 1966 F100 slick side.
And with that, we'll see you next time. Take care.
