Why You Feel Tingling or Pressure at Your Third Eye Chakra (no, it's not opening!)

Have you ever felt a pressure around this third eye area? Sometimes it can be a tingling around
this area as well, sometimes it can be a tingling all around the top of the head,
this kind of like halo effect that goes on around here. And I'm talking specifically now
when you're doing things like meditation, when you're reading a spiritual book,
maybe when you're thinking or contemplating spiritual topics and you suddenly become aware
I've got a tingling sensation here or I've got a pressure here, it feels like someone's pushing
and it's not a headache, it's not unpleasant but it's noticeable. Now oftentimes people will jump
to the conclusion that their third eye is opening up and this isn't usually the case. I'm going to
explain to you today why this is. There are two main reasons as to why you'll have these different
things going on, these different sensations. You might be wondering how the hell do you know?
Now that's a very fair comment. I've been involved in meditation since I was about six years old
so a lot of what I teach is based upon my own experience and some of it is what I've been taught
by my own teacher. I was taught by a very very advanced teacher. A lot of what I speak about as
well is also referenced in Mother Mira's book. Mother Mira is a divine avatar, I can leave a link
in the description to her book if you want to look into her a bit more. So the first point is divine
light. Now this can be quite hard for me to articulate because it's very it's almost it's
impossible for a human being to comprehend what's going on on this subtle level but what's important
to remember is that we're not the doers. We meditate, we show up, we have that aspiration
to want to know more but the divine also meets us there and true meditation is that communion
between the two of you. It's when the divine and you meet in this place of beyond the mind really
and that is when this union takes place and this true form of meditation takes place which
deepens and deepens and deepens. Because we're showing aspiration, because we're we're treading
the spiritual path, because we're meditating and a lot of these effects as I said at the start are
also felt outside of meditation, the divine is working on us at all times. The divine is giving
us light and the type of effects that we feel will depend sometimes on the type of light that we
receive. So for example some people will feel things like or get things like headaches, some people will
feel a burning sensation or they'll get extremely hot, some people as I mentioned will feel this
kind of tingling or just a presence. Sometimes it is just this this sense of presence. That's not the
full range of experiences but these are the common ones that people will experience and it's important
to remember that the divine will give us the exact light that we need for whatever reason it is,
whatever they're helping us with really, the divine is helping us with. We will receive the
light that is appropriate for that and sometimes the effects of that light will be felt differently.
Sometimes as I say you may get headaches after you've been meditating quite a lot,
you may feel a very hot or a burning sensation, you may feel tingling all over the body,
you may just feel this kind of presence around you. A lot of times that is related to the divine
light especially around here and the divine light entering through the ajna chakra although it's not
limited to there it can enter other areas of the body too but for many people they'll feel it around
this area. So that is the first explanation for it and the second explanation which is
more typically felt during meditation is related to kundalini and I've spoken a little bit about
this in a different way in other videos but we have as many of you I'm sure will know
seven chakras. This one is the crown chakra sits above the head up here outside of the body
and this one is the third eye chakra or the ajna chakra and at the very base chakra
the muladhara chakra kundalini sits dormant and kundalini is a very very powerful energy that
sits dormant at the base chakra and will eventually be the energy that facilitates the opening
one by one of these chakras and these chakras really and truthfully and simply represent
stepping stones to higher levels of consciousness. So as we evolve spiritually we'll begin to work
our way up these and that will be experienced in an expansion of our consciousness. Now this
kundalini energy is very very powerful and it's actually a spiraling energy so it will eventually
work its way up a central channel and that central channel will be will be the highway for this
powerful energy to to rise and begin opening up these chakras. Now the turning point is within
the third eye ajna chakra so oftentimes it will be felt there as a tingling sensation
in that third eye area but also people will experience things like spinning or they can
experience things like spinning. You may feel electricity kind of little strands of electricity
flowing through the body jolts so you may just find that you kind of jolt or twitch when you're
meditating. They're all symptoms of kundalini beginning to rise gently up through the chakras.
Now these aren't the only energies that we're drawing in and that are moving around us in a
subtle way. There's obviously chi as well which has its own effects and symptoms so you can see
that there's lots going on on a subtle level that we're not always aware of. That can lead to many
different sensations and experiences in the body. Generally speaking if you're doing safe types of
meditations, the types of meditations that I teach within my online school, you've not got anything
to worry about. These are just a by-product of the gentle kind of progression that you're
taking, that you're having. But do be aware if you're doing any kind of meditations that bring
about these changes more drastically, kundalini meditation and things like that, you could be in
for a rough ride because this energy is very powerful and it's a bit like climbing a mountain.
As we get higher, the altitude gets thinner and we want to make sure that we acclimatize very
gradually. We want to go up and up very slowly. A mountaineer going up Everest doesn't run up
there in a day because their body wouldn't acclimatize to that altitude. In the same
sense with meditation and spiritual work, it's much safer and better to do it nice and gradually
so that every part of you gets a chance to adapt. If you're interested in being part of a meditation
and spiritual school, I'll leave a link in the description to my school. It's called the Inner
Journey School. Failing that, I'll see you on the next video. Thanks a lot.
