Yes, even if you stay inside with the doors closed, pollen from earlier in the day can remain trapped in your bedroom air. During hot days, pollen rises and stays near the ceiling. When your room cools down at night, that pollen begins to fall. It lands on your face, nose, and mouth while you sleep. This can cause midnight sneezing, nighttime allergies, nasal irritation, and poor sleep quality.
In this video you will learn: • Why sneezing at night is more common than most people realize • How pollen enters your bedroom and settles when the temperature drops • The simple science behind indoor air and allergens • One easy solution that made a huge difference which is using an air purifier

I kept thinking, what am I missing?
Why does she keep having these sneezing fits?
I couldn't smell it.
I couldn't hear it.
Whatever it was, it's been hiding
in the middle of the night and then it strikes.
Now the fix for this.
So the other night, my daughter,
she was lying in bed and she was sneezing her head off.
She was so stuffy in her nose, bless her.
She has allergies to food,
so it definitely makes her more susceptible
to seasonal allergies and dust mites
and she's allergic to cats and dogs.
But this sneezing fit the other night,
it was something different.
It wasn't the usual allergy type sneezing.
She unintentionally woke me up
in the middle of the night with this sneezing fit
and it was so weird.
I thought she was fine when she went to bed.
And then I was thinking, could it be the air corners
and spitting out dust randomly?
Could there have been a cat in here?
You know, we're traveling,
so it might not have cleaned the room properly
and there might have been a cat or a dog, who knows?
So I was wracking my brains thinking, what on earth?
Why is she sneezing in the middle of the night?
So I did what I do best and I started to do some research.
Now, I didn't just ask Chachi BT.
Well, I did that too, but I also do my own research.
And what I found out was very surprising.
I hadn't really thought about it.
Now, that day had been the day of the sneezing fit.
It had been really hot and windy.
The doors were open and when we came in
for our evening walk, she was fine.
The girls played, had a bath, put the pajamas on,
read the books, everything was fine.
Just like every night, or every night until recently.
And I kept thinking, what am I missing?
I couldn't see anything on her clothes.
I couldn't see anything in her hair.
But the culprit for this was hiding.
This annoying sleep disruptor,
you can't see it with the naked eye.
I couldn't smell it.
I couldn't hear it.
Whatever it was, it's been hiding
in the middle of the night.
And then it strikes, bam,
she starts having a sneezing fit.
She wakes up with this blocked nose.
She's wheezing, like sneezing, coughing.
Bless her.
It's so awful.
And I eventually find out the culprit is pollen.
Like, surely not.
But I did my research.
100% that was the culprit.
But it makes total sense when you think about it.
Once pollen's in the house,
and it easily gets in the house,
even if you've got all the doors and windows shut,
it seeps in through the cracks.
It does get on your clothes and in your hair,
but you just can't see it.
The tricky thing is,
it doesn't necessarily make you stuffy straight away.
It takes its time like a creepy little monster.
It will slowly attack you in the middle of the night.
And what happens is, it rises in the hot air.
In the summer months, when your room is warmer,
the temperature rises.
And so the pollen is around the ceiling where it's hot.
And then during the night, when it gets colder,
then it starts to fall down.
So that explains why in the middle of the night
she started sneezing,
because the pollen's eventually fell down
from the hot ceiling.
Now, the fix for this,
I should have known, it's so simple
when you think about it,
but hard for me to do because we're traveling around.
So it's not like I can pack a little one
into our suitcase,
but the fix is an air purifier.
And this is one of the things
I helped one of my sleep clients figure out.
They were having the same issue
in the middle of the night.
They were sneezing.
And so it takes all of this detective work to figure out.
Air purifier.
Now, when we have one of these, Jade sleeps so well.
My clients sleep so well.
It's just that little thing,
what you might not have known
if you didn't do your research
and didn't put two and two together.
That's part of my job being a triage nurse.
That's why I can help so many people figure out
what's wrong with their sleep.
