Discover the stunning design of the Concrete Box House, a modern residence that blends sculptural architecture with minimalist living. The home is composed of three defining elements: a concrete box, a wooden box, and a low concrete wall that encloses a peaceful entry courtyard.
The journey begins with a carefully choreographed entry sequence—slipping between overlapping walls, moving through a quiet courtyard, and stepping into a low-ceilinged entry hall. From here, the space opens dramatically into a tall, light-filled main living area, where natural light and garden views contrast with the home’s solid exterior.
On the first floor, open-plan living is defined by subtle level changes that separate the dining, kitchen, and living areas. A hidden office, tucked behind sliding walls, offers flexibility for work and privacy.
Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms create a striking contrast to the raw concrete below. Bright, white, and minimal, these spaces are designed as calm retreats, while the bathrooms combine concrete, wood, and soft light to create a spa-like experience.
The Concrete Box House is more than a residence—it’s an architectural journey of light, texture, and space.
Welcome to the Concrete Box House, a home where simplicity, sculptural presence, and
carefully crafted experiences come together in one stunning design.
Design began with three guiding ideas, a carefully choreographed entry sequence, material clarity,
and a strong sculptural presence.
The house is composed of three main elements, a concrete box, a wooden box, and a low concrete
wall enclosing the entry courtyard.
Entry into the home is an experience in itself.
Visitors slip between overlapping concrete walls, then arrive at a sanctuary-like courtyard
before reaching the front door.
Stepping inside, the entry hall greets you with a low ceiling and a slightly shadowed
atmosphere, heightening the sense of anticipation.
And passing through the concrete threshold, the space dramatically opens up, revealing
a tall, light-filled main volume.
Here, natural light floods the interiors and expansive views connect the front courtyard
with the rear garden.
It's a striking contrast to the blank, sculptural exterior.
First floor is essentially one open space, subtly divided by slight changes in level
that distinguish the dining, kitchen, and living zones.
A hidden office is cleverly tucked away behind sliding walls.
This allows the homeowners to fully engage in work during the day and then close it off,
literally leaving work behind when it's time to relax.
Upstairs, the mood shifts.
The second floor rooms are bright, simple, and pure white, offering a refreshing contrast
to the warm wood and raw concrete textures below.
Concrete Box House is more than a residence, it's an experience of material, light, and
space where every transition tells a story.
From the play of shadow to the abundance of light, from raw concrete to pure white interiors,
the Concrete Box House offers a carefully choreographed interior experience that balances
sculptural strengths with livable warmth.
Together, the bedrooms and bathrooms create a striking counterpart to the raw, sculptural
downstairs spaces.
While the ground floor is bold and textural, the upper floor becomes a retreat, minimalist,
airy and designed for rest and renewal.
The front façade fenestration is intentionally minimal.
This enhances the building's monolithic and sculptural quality, giving it the presence
of a piece of modern art set within the landscape.
