Casa LG presents a modern minimalist design with a warm and down-to-earth approach. Its bold and simple forms are combined with natural materials such as dark-textured stone, natural plaster, and wood, enhancing the character of the space.
Large openings bring in natural light while framing the surrounding vegetation, creating a shady atmosphere reminiscent of the tranquility of a forest. The interior and exterior feel unified, providing a living experience that is calm, comfortable, and in harmony with nature.

Casa LG stands in a green residential area in Zapopan, Mexico, as a residence designed to
bring serenity to everyday life. Amidst a thriving neighborhood, the house doesn't seek to be a visual
icon. Instead, it positions itself as a serene architecture, a confident presence without
unduly attracting attention. The building's massing is bold and geometric. The composition
is simple, with a clean play of horizontal and vertical planes. There are no theatrical
architectural gestures. This simplicity is the foundation of its strength, a mature and
controlled minimalism. Natural light plays a crucial role in shaping the spatial experience.
Sunlight entering through gaps and openings creates a rhythm of shadows on the stone walls.
This movement of light creates a subtle dynamic, making the space feel lively despite its simple
form. The ground floor layout is open yet structured. The living, dining, and kitchen
areas are visually connected, creating an efficient circulation flow. Despite the open space, each
zone retains a clear definition through changes in materials and spatial orientation. Materials
are key elements in establishing the house's identity. Dark basalt stone is used as the
dominant element, creating a sense of solidity and grounding. Its rough surface captures light
in an uneven manner, creating a visual depth that changes throughout the day. Raw plaster
and wood elements complete the composition. Natural textures are left visible, reinforcing
a sense of honesty and rawness. There is no attempt to disguise the original character of
the materials. Instead, the imperfections of their textures create a subtle warmth.
The forest feel of this house doesn't come from its location in the middle of the jungle,
but rather from a consciously constructed atmosphere. The earthy color palette, the play
of shadows, and the proximity to the vegetation create a shady sensation reminiscent of a space
beneath a tree canopy. The upper floor offers a more private space. Here, there is a work area
and a spacious terrace overlooking the green landscape. The terrace serves as a transitional
space that strengthens the connection with nature while providing a place for contemplation.
The swimming pool is positioned alongside the vegetation, creating a dialogue between the water
element and the texture of the stone. The water's surface reflects the reflections of the trees and
sky, deepening the serene atmosphere that is the main character of this house. The existing
vegetation is preserved and positioned as part of the architectural composition. Large openings
serve as natural frames, bringing trees and sky into the interior. This visual connection makes
the boundary between inside and outside feel more fluid. The minimalism in Casa LG is not simply
a visual stylistic choice, it is a strategy for filtering out the non-essential, leaving only
elements that truly support the quality of life of its occupants. This house demonstrates that
modern architecture doesn't have to be cold or rigid. With its warm approach to materials and
intimate connection to nature, minimalism can actually be a medium for conveying emotional depth.
Casa LG is about atmosphere. It's about how stone, light, water and vegetation work together
to create a serene spatial experience. It presents the forest not as a decorative theme,
but as an atmosphere born from conscious and calculated design decisions.
