And funnily enough, the more I paint,
the bigger my belly gets.
Can't see that.
What are you working on?
Hi, I was just thinking we should start a new series
called how to make a really ugly window less ugly.
But I don't know if we're winning on this one.
But anyway.
Burn it and order a new one.
Yes, well, we are in the living room.
We are literally, I'm not gonna say moments,
but probably 24 hours away
from having a beautiful living room.
You've done a lot of prep work.
I've done a lot of cutting in.
That actually took the most time.
With this windowsill,
I mean, we hate this window, don't we, Jono?
We hate the doors as well
because they don't actually work.
Well, this is an add-on at some other point in time
because it's like really thin aluminum.
And it needs to be.
And all the other ones are timber.
Yeah.
That door's not original either.
No, but the big grand plan would be to open this all up
and actually have beautiful timber sliding doors.
That's what we would actually really like to do.
But we weren't organized enough, were we?
To do it in time for this makeover.
Well, it's kind of a big job
and it means recladding outside.
So I think we do it when we tackle outside.
Yeah, yeah.
We do need to reclad.
So there's plenty we need to do.
But anyway, I've done,
I've primed and I've just done a natural white aquanamal
on the inside,
but I'm not gonna do a feature on the outside
because I don't want to actually accentuate it.
So that's gonna be matching bongo drum
with the rest of the walls.
And funnily enough, the more I paint,
the bigger my belly gets.
Fancy that.
So I've got to finish quick
because it's getting in the way.
So today I'm gonna roll,
I'm gonna finish the painting
and yeah, and then it's fun styling.
And I might need you to help me.
New sofa, new coffee table, new chair.
All fancy.
So much hiding, so much goodness hiding under there.
We may have done it a little bit backwards
and picked up the furniture before we'd done the room.
Love doing it backwards.
Can I please get your help to stir the paint?
You stir, I'll roll.
All right.
Okay.
All right.
Has this been shaken at all?
No.
And it's been sitting there
waiting to be painted for a while.
It's not that bad.
I've opened worse.
Okay.
Off you pop.
Let's play a game.
Has Jono been paying attention?
What's the name of this paint color?
Dulux.
Wash and wear.
Yeah, what's the name of the actual Dulux color?
Bongo John.
Oh, well done.
You have been paying attention.
Thanks, Jono.
Okay, bye.
Everything backwards around here, aren't we?
I've got a wet sock
because you left a wet mop on the floor.
We've already got furniture in here.
It's raining so much.
It was so nice.
Like not even a few hours ago
and now it's like winter again.
And yes, we're going backwards.
Also, we haven't even got the new lights in yet.
So no, so we did have a wall sconce
but Jono and I, we didn't like how much light it casted.
It didn't cast enough basically.
So we wanted to actually put a pendant in,
create more of a moment.
So that's on the way.
That's on the way.
And also I have got ideas for artwork.
I need to talk to you about that after, Jono.
That needs to be resolved.
But for now, this is the underlay.
We've got the rug in the other room
which I'm going to need your help carrying.
We're going to put this down, get the furniture in
and then...
New living room.
Well, yeah.
90%.
Oh man, 90%.
Painting looks good though.
Thank you.
It looks way better.
Thank you.
Clean walls for the first time since we moved in.
Yeah, and I'm glad it's done.
Let me just end it there.
I'm glad it's finished.
Let's get it set up
so we've actually got somewhere to sit again.
So when I chose this rug,
I really wanted chocolatey tones.
And I did...
I mean, I didn't choose it
because I wanted it to match my dog.
But I do think Dusty's going to be on it a lot.
It would be probably quite handy if it matched Dusty.
He's going to sleep on my foot.
Oh my God, he's so happy.
Dusty, you like your new rug?
You like the new rug?
Oh, I do, mum.
Oh, I do.
So, cushions, artwork,
pendant.
Style up the coffee table and the chair.
To our cozy living room.
Or living nook, should I say?
It's more of a living nooks.
Cute little cozy corner.
It is a room.
I think what I love most about this space
is definitely some of the furniture pieces.
So this is the Havana coffee table.
This is from Tide Design.
So local craftsmen.
They're based in Melbourne.
I just love the details here.
The curved edging.
The fact that it's got that lower level.
And so it's got plenty of space for coffee table books
because I do have a lot of design books.
But it's nice to be able to tuck them away as well.
The scale's really good.
And it also matches.
So this is also from Tide Design, the chair.
So this is the Brixton armchair.
I got to customise and choose the finish on these.
So Jono and I selected American oak.
And it's got a drift oil finish.
So it just has the most beautiful finish.
It's so soft.
Again, these details and the curves are just divine.
And it is the comfiest chair.
So comfy.
And also it's upholstered in a beautiful tan leather.
So I love that.
I knew I really wanted to bring in tan leather.
It's going to age really well.
And it's already starting to get a few marks on it,
which is exactly what I wanted.
Dusty, his favourite.
Here, do you want to see what Dusty's favourite thing
in this room is?
Easily, it's still the rug.
We've had the pleasure of spending some time
in this living room for a while now.
And Dusty has basically called this his home.
So the only problem that I would say,
this is not a flat wave rug.
It is a shag pile rug.
So when you have a dog that thinks that this is his new bed,
yeah, it can get messy.
He does like claw it a little bit
because he does think it's his.
I'm just having to give it the odd haircut every now
and again because it is a shag pile.
Look, there's more.
I've basically shorn a sheep.
But I don't mind that, Jono.
Do you mind it?
I think it's quite comfy.
It's very cute.
It's very seventies.
The couch is from Globe West.
I actually started with this first.
I knew I really wanted a green couch, so I love it.
The light is spectacular.
I love the fact that we did a pendant.
Well done, Jono.
I think that that is a really good solution.
It's a cute little moment.
I like the fabric detail that we've got there.
And then it highlights a cute little print,
which is Jono's special photography.
Yeah, that's our local.
I like it.
I think it's really sweet and job well done, Jono.
