Hi everyone, we are Bayside today to explore a little bit of laid-back luxury.
If you like the idea of moving into a $5 million home mortgage-free, then right this way.
So you might have already guessed, but this is the latest grand prize in the Royal Melbourne
Hospital Home Lottery. I know you guys love these tours, so let's get started on the sticky beak.
First of all, we have a formal sitting room at the front of this property.
This home has quite a quiet luxury, the rendered surface on the walls, a beautiful marble detail,
which we're going to start seeing a lot of, and this grey oak as well. I also really love this
mirrored splashback with that LED strip lighting. They've turned it into a bit of a bar moment.
And over here, a good space for the office. I really like this touch as well with that shelving.
And there's plenty of storage. In fact, the storage is epic all throughout this home.
This is a Metzé home and it was designed in collaboration with Webster Architecture and
Nathan Burkett Landscaping. I've got to admit, the landscaping is what really sells this home for me
from the front all the way through to the back. And we're about to see a really established garden
as well that's right at the back of the property. I can't wait to show you down there. That's where
the excitement is, guys. But first, a couple of things to tick off the list. We have double
garage through here, plenty of storage, and a huge laundry. A powder room through here,
which is scrumptious. I love these tiles. They're very warm and natural. There's a lot of beautiful
texture in here. Great use of the skylight, really picking up on more of that texture of the tile.
And you can start to see this kind of black gunmetal. It's like this brushed metal tapware.
Beautiful details with the lighting. We have a guest bedroom down here. Beautiful pop of
color in there as well. But more of the bedrooms are upstairs, so that's for later.
I love these stairs. They're such a feature with this floating American oak and that really strong
steel beam. But the fun continues because in here, guys, how bougie and how extra is this
wine cellar? Not too shabby. Very impressive. I also really love the detail with that stone as
well. There's really subtle touches with the texture that continue all throughout this home.
So the stone continues into the kitchen. This has a really great feeling to it.
Everything's very seamless, as we've come to know with these homes. It has an integrated cooktop
here, so that's recessed into the stone. So beautiful and flush. An integrated dishwasher,
which should be here, I'm guessing. Luckily, it is. Otherwise, that would have been embarrassing.
But range hood here, we notice this fluted glass detail. We're going to start seeing more of that,
and I like the way that's quite seamless because then it adds more room for storage.
You've got dual ovens, integrated fridge and freezer, and we continue into the butler's
pantry. I love the treatment in here. I love the fact that you have this window and then that
mirrored splashback makes it feel a lot bigger than it is, but it also continues because you've
another pantry in there. I love this dining table. I love this reflection of the garden and
the way it looks out onto that greenery. That pendant is an absolute vibe as well. It's quite
bougie. It's a little bit luxe over here. I do love the feeling. And this living room is a really
good size. It feels good. Again, I love the way you can look out onto the garden. You've got a
fireplace here, which is in this rendered curved wall. It's very subtle. It's very simple. Again,
quite luxury. That's what it's all about, guys, opening out to the garden. We're in such a
beautiful kind of beachside suburb. So to be able to enjoy the outside and really open up your home
is really what you want to do. I love this brick detail. That gum, like I mentioned, is just
beautiful. It really does encase this home. And we have this undercover area here. Great
for outdoor entertaining. We've got our barbecue. We've got the beautiful pool through here.
I love being able to look out onto the blue of that water. And walking up these stairs is a bit
of a treat. You get a feeling for the scale of this home, obviously, with this double height
ceiling. We're coming through to the front. We're not mapping about, guys, straight into the master
bedroom. A really great-sized bedroom. And the size continues like next level. This is just the
biggest walk-in robe I have ever seen. The storage is phenomenal. So much space. And of course,
the master ensuite. Double vanity. We've got this stone detail that we saw in the kitchen.
Again, with this kind of gray, oaky joinery. And we also start to notice the travertine on the floor.
I love the fluted glass again. Really great treatment. Double showerhead. So of course,
you can high-five your mate. And a freestanding tub. Guys, I could get in it, sure. But it might
take me a good 10 minutes to get out. So we don't have time for that. But I do appreciate the size.
We have a toilet through here. Just size overload. Very impressive. A breakout space here. They've
created a bit of a study nook. And you can also put a bit of a secondary living space here as well.
So we've got two more bedrooms to check out. They always do really well with their scale.
They've got their storage sorted. A really good-sized bedroom. And then this ensuite is
beautiful. So that's kind of softer tone with the tile. It's very pared back. It's just very warm
and earthy. And we have a bit of a replica here. So very similar to that last bedroom that we saw.
It comes through into another very generous ensuite.
Beautiful lighting details. Just simple, calm perfection.
I love the pop of color so much in that artwork. It really does bring it all to life.
There's such a beautiful consistency in this home, which has really been achieved by
the considered treatment of materials throughout. From that exterior facade, the bad brickwork,
the aluminum and timber cladding. And the way that timber cladding actually flows from
the outside of that garage door onto that pivot door as well. It helps to bring the outside in.
And that feature steel that we see outside is also referenced internally with that floating
staircase. That's quite soft and delicate with those oak treads. But then it has the strength
of that steel running through it. It creates such a beautiful sculptural moment. It also brings
your eye up. It makes you look at how grand the scale of this home is. It's very elevated. Those
double height ceilings, the floor to ceiling windows, and also that incredible doorway
through to your very own wine cellar. That is such a moment. It's very extra. I love everything
about it. And I really like that extra detail with that deep mauve stone and the way that wraps
up the wall from the floor. It's those little details in this home that really make it sing
and really make it come to life. The ground floor of this home really is where it's at. It's all
function at the front and party at the back. The kitchen, living and dining where I am right now.
It's just wrapped in this greenery. Like I said, the gardens are really established. It helps you
feel just instantly comfortable and at ease. And it does just have quiet luxury throughout this
home. That was my overwhelming sense when I came in here. It's just those simple touches,
functional treatment, the kitchen, the way that works and flows, the integration,
the induction cooktop, all the appliances. They're always so seamless. And it's understated,
but in the most luxurious of ways. This home is very generous. It's set on a 660 square meter
block and it does have four bedrooms. The bedrooms all upstairs have their own en-suites,
but obviously my favorite was the main bedroom upstairs, which was just sensory overload.
There was just so much bougie-ness going on in that en-suite. The walk-in robe was just huge,
yet it still had a feeling of warmth and coziness. But I think they've been able to do that by tying
in some of those really beautiful warm elements like the travertine, also bringing in that fluted
glass detail. It's those textural layers that just sort of bring a space together and make it feel
like really cozy and like you've arrived home. If you'd like to be in the running to win this
