We have been dreaming about buying a property down the coast for many many years and we're so excited to have finally found our dream home. Not only do we love the tranquility of its location but we fell in love with the charm and character of this unique timber home as soon as we laid eyes on it. We have so many ideas, plans and things we want to accomplish in this house but most of this year has just been spent enjoying our new location, slowing down and getting used to rural life. We wanted to share this house tour from the first day we picked up the keys! It's real, it's raw and it's us. Hope you enjoy.

Hey! Hey! We bought a house! We sure did. We've actually been in this house for most of this year.
Yeah, since April. It's been really, really fun and we've just been chill. We haven't done anything
yet. We've just been enjoying being in this beautiful location which is along the Great
Ocean Road near, what, the Twelve Apostles? Not far from the Twelve Apostles, fair way down the
coast. It's nice and quiet. It is very quiet. You like it because of the surf. Yeah, and that's
quiet. But it is, would you say, a renovator's delight? Yeah, I reckon. A little bit of work to do.
There's so much work to do and we haven't done anything yet. We'll probably do some quick fixes.
We might do, but we do have some big plans that we want to do down the tracks. We're just kind of
working out what we want to do, but we did shoot a bit of a home tour when we first got the keys.
World's worst home tour. It's not very pretty. This is not a pretty home tour,
but we thought we'd share it with you anyway, so please enjoy. This is literally the moment
that we got this place for the first time and we explored the house. Have fun. What have you got?
We bought a house. This is it. This now belongs to us. Everything, everything. That gum tree,
that gum tree, that belongs to us. This stick, that's our stick, Jono. It's all ours.
Pretty exciting. Yeah, let's go suss out the damage. Which way do we want to go?
Take the normal entrance.
You can't quite see it. Needs some landscape work. Look at this. We've got plenty growing
along here. Oh no, technically that I think is the front path. So yeah, it needs some work.
Maybe just a touch of landscaping needs to be done, but do you know what? That's what we fell
in love with, right? That first initial pitched roof. That's the shed. There's a few good pictures.
There is, there is. So this is, I guess, what was once a nice little front path.
Might need to figure this out again. I've got the whippersnipper. I've got to do some clearing.
We definitely do. Look at our new lemon tree though, Jono. Do you know how much I like my
lemons? You love lemons. Is there any ready to go? Oh there are, there's some ready to go.
That's actually incredible. I'm stuck on blackberries already. Oh my god, that's it.
Was that their front? That was the gate. Don't break it. Look, babe, I don't think it's...
So welcome to the front door. It's got a nice motif. Reindeer. I might try and scratch that off.
Check out these keys. I've not used a key like this since I was a whippersnapper. We're in.
All right, you ready? Welcome. It's pretty cool. Yeah. There's a lot going on. There is.
The word potential comes to mind. It's definitely a project. But um, I don't know. We just walked
in here for the first time and like I love that pitched ceiling. I love the loft even though it's
totally not a legit legal height. Is it, Jono? I mean, look at this. What are we
dealing with? That is so low. I reckon my mate Woody would have to duck to get under here.
It's not the end of the world. What have you got? Is that dead or alive? Oh, it's a bat.
Is it dead? It's a bat. Yeah, it's dead. Oh my god. Is it really? Are you sure?
It's dead or asleep. No, it's dead. It's dead. Look at it. It's been there forever.
That's right. I reckon there's going to be lots of things we have to clear out.
Well, that came with the house. Guess we own that too.
We bought this place because, oh, how do I open this?
Because we love its location. And I mean, look at this view.
Epic view. Oh my god. It's like just words cannot describe. Like, I just love this.
So you can see the ocean. You can see Joanna Beach. This needs some work. This is the smallest
deck I've ever laid eyes on. So we need to obviously fix this. But you know what? I mean,
good. It's got character. It does have character.
And what I guess will be our dining over here as well. It's very small, very odd
proportions, but we'll eventually fix that. Come into the kitchen. Let's have a look.
Just a bit dirty. It is filthy. Oh my god. There's a lot of mouse poop. There have been mice
everywhere. So we have got stuff to sort that out. And it's quite filthy. First job. First job.
Clean everything. But you know what? Like, it's not bad niche. It's not bad niche.
So here we've got a pantry. It's quite dark in the pantry, but this is cool. Everything
is a little bit on the wonky side, but look, that's fine. We can fix it. We can fix it.
Does this work? No, we've got to fix that. Okay. Don't pull those things too hard. Cause if the
cable. What happens to this one? Oh, kitchen light.
Spotlight. Wow. How dramatic. Pause for dramatic effect. All right.
That's an easy fix. All right. Come into the laundry.
This is it. Is there a light? Oh, behind you, near the door.
Doesn't work. We've got lots to do. Oh, there's a box of light bulbs. I left them at home.
But this is the laundry. We'll take you outside later. But you know. It's a room. It's a room.
Check out the hot water service. Oh, look, there are all the, um,
all the glass covers for all the lights. Great. They're going in the bin, but that's all right.
But this is going to look epic when I get to style it up. We'll clean it up. We'll give it
some beautiful paint. It's going to look amazing. Paint fixes everything.
We've bought, we've just bought the world's smallest bathroom. We thought we'd bought the
world's smallest bathroom in our last house, but no, it turns out this is the world's smallest
bathroom. This is it. That's your new mate. You knew that? Your new mate. There's a bird in the
room. Oh no, we have to get him out. So this is a project. This does not tick the Lucy wants to
jump in at bathtub challenge. This does not meet that requirement. Are you not going to test it
out? No, there's like all sorts of stuff going on in here. All right, come and check out the toilet
then. Oh yeah. So the toilet, it's so small in the bathroom, the toilet doesn't actually fit in
there. So we've got a separate toilet. Huzzah. That's it. That's it. How good is that? I mean,
feature window to look out onto, you know, the happenings in the deck. Oh, that works.
Does this, and then, oh, now I'm back outside again. Yeah. Dual entranceway to the toilet.
Not everyone has that, does they? Put that on the tick list. Yeah. This is a, I don't know,
what is that? Oh my God. It's an old Esky full of cockroaches. Oh my God. Did you see that? Yeah.
Oh, I'm going to have to open it again. Oh, do you see it? Will they run? They'll run away.
Oh, that's gross. Oh, that's going in a skip. That's disgusting. Let's continue the tour.
Sorry, this is the master bedroom. It might need a little bit of work to earn that prestigious title.
So this is the master. They've got these very odd little cutout window things. Feature windows,
you'd call them? Yeah, let's call them a feature window, John. I like that. This is going to be a
bit of a multi-stage project because I think down the track we'd eventually like to do a big
build, but I think for now, oh, thank goodness for that light. I can't even see it. So far away.
Oh my gosh. Okay. So bedroom number two is through this hallway.
This is actually much bigger. And so this is going to be quite fun to play with because I
reckon we can fit a lot more in here. Do you know what? I might open this up. There's some air
happening. Oh wow. I don't think they've been opened up for a while. We have got... How's the
view? Blackberry view. We need to open up a blackberry jam business after this because this
is... I can see some icons. There's lunch. Yeah, they're rolling in them. Again, beautiful like
bones. How exciting. Pitched roof. I quite like that timber cladding. It's just... It's kind of
good. It's kind of good. It's a good starting point. Do you want to come upstairs? Yeah. Level
two. Come on. So this is the loft, which you know what? I'm a massive sucker for a loft. Jono,
do you like this loft as much as I do? Because you're like... I feel like it's a waste of space
and it kind of takes away from the living room and the roof downstairs. I would like to get rid
of it. But it's so cute. It's so cute. It's a loft. Yeah, but it's kind of fun. I want to turn
this into a bedroom while we still have the loft though. I think it's not a... Whilst we've got it,
let's make it another bedroom so that we can have family and friends to stay. What's that?
That's probably where your mate is. Probably where your bird is. Oh my God. If I open it up,
there's something going to jump out at me. You'll only find out if you open it.
What is in there? This is very flowers in the attic. This is a bit creepy.
Am I going to find a dead body in here? Home archaeology. What's in there? What's in there?
What is it? Oh my God. It's covered in cobwebs. Oh, no way. Ella Fitzgerald. We've got cassette
tapes in here. There's a bit of classical. Well, maybe after you vac everything up, you can sort
these out. It's a pretty huge part of your collection. Some cool trumpet, dude. That is
so random. There's also little toys in here as well. Attics creep me out. I must admit,
most of the time, there's not many good associations that come with an attic,
so I might need to fix that. Kind of a cool window. Is that even square or is it kind of off?
That's not square, babe. No. Is it even? Is it symmetrical is what I'm trying to say.
I'm not entirely sure if anything in this home is symmetrical. It looks a little bit off whack.
Seamless. Look, look, look, look. This is the best bit. Look at it from here. Imagine just
chilling out, chatting to a mate in the kitchen, maybe getting ready for bed. Wouldn't you just be
downstairs chatting to them? No, just shh. This is my fantasy. All right, I'm going to make this
beautiful. I'm going to clean this railing so I can actually lean on it.
You know, without fear of getting spider webs on me. Might want to replace that fan.
It's kind of disgusting. Might want to replace a lot of things. Oh God, does that open up? What's
this? Window. Does that open up? It's cable tied or something. Oh, I don't want to break it.
We'll deal with that later. All right. So anyway, that's a lot. Should we go?
Where should we go next? Oh, we haven't even seen the shed.
More cobwebs. Featured spiders. They come in the house. Featured spiders.
This is a bit, look, it's a bit odd, isn't it? But look at this beautiful tree.
Like there's so much goodness. What was that? I don't know. Hopefully it wasn't a dead body
from the attic. There's so much goodness in this garden. We just need to clear it all up
and find the good stuff. Um, through here. Oh, there's another room. What's in the room?
Stank. Stank is what's in the room. Oh, it does stink. Oh, I wish I could transfer the smell.
It kind of smells like a sauna. Is there pine in here? Could we make it a sauna? I
could probably could. Sauna. Could we do that? Yeah. That's actually a brilliant idea. I kind
of need to know what's behind this, um, it's like cardboard. It doesn't look great, does it? No.
Yeah. Okay. Why does it smell like a sauna? Why does that say electricity? Because that's the,
um, fuse. That's the electricity. That's where the mains comes in. That's where the fuse box is.
Electrical wires. Don't do this. Don't cut a hole. So we probably can't put a sauna where
the mains electricity is. Probably not. I've got plans for that. So let's go check out the shed.
I've got an idea for here, Jono. Could I maybe make. Don't I get the outside areas and you get
the inside areas? Isn't that usually the rule? Not this time. Oh, I'm getting stitched. No,
you're going to get a brand new shed elsewhere on the property. Whereas this. Away from the house?
Yeah. Okay. I thought I could fit maybe a yoga studio in here. Maybe it could be a nice
clean workshop. Like a workshop. Whereas all your mess could be somewhere else.
What do you reckon? Yeah, I can kind of agree to that. But this is kind of cool.
Isn't it great that they cleaned it up for us? Yeah. Isn't it great that they took all their
trash away with them? Isn't that great? There's a set of wheels up there for something. Awesome.
And I don't know what they'll fit. But maybe we could do, like, is there any of this timber
that could be semi-decent? Yeah, I can salvage it. Like that could actually come in handy, maybe.
Yeah. Let's walk around to the deck. Sure. Okay. So I have a couple of rust issues.
But this is, you know, around the side. I feel like I'm going to become a gardener.
I think you're going to have to. Look at this jungle.
Look at these. I mean, lucky. Cost of fortune, these do. Got them on my doorstep.
There you go. Oh, thanks. That's for you.
How are you? Where are you going? Oh, look.
Thanks. Can I eat it? Yeah.
Good. Might be a few more still. A bit late in the season, but there might be some.
So this, potential. Potential, key word. Potential is the key word. Yeah.
Can you hear all the birds? I can.
It's just so... I love it. Well, I think we better get cleaning because we need to get some
stuff in here and then we can start planning some projects. I don't think it's project day today.
Look at the sad little deck. It's a bit sad.
Look at the sad back of this building. I mean, it's... She's ugly.
I can't... This building, I'm just so excited because I need to... We need to name it. It
needs a name because I feel like it's a person already. It's part of the family. And we just
need to bring it back to life. Yeah, she needs a bit of love.
She is just... She is just waiting for a makeover. Look at her.
All right. She's waiting for her time. Let's go. Season three.
Here we go again. The never-ending series.
Yeah, but this is better. This one's ours.
Are you happy with your project house? Yeah.
Bit of a project. I'm like... Do you know what? I go
through moments of being really overwhelmed and freaked out to being really excited.
But I think at the moment... What stage are you at right now?
I think right now I'm at the excited stage, but I'm starting to merge into Africa.
