Prince William and Princess Kate visit community groups in Powys, Wales, and greet crowds of local schoolchildren and residents. Princess Kate thanks a young girl for gifting her a necklace she crafted an arts workshop in Wales. The Prince and Princess of Wales attended a session of the Hand in Hand art project, a community scheme part-funded by a gallery aimed at supporting local Syrian and Afghan families. Their visit comes ahead of St David's Day.
You're both handsome.
You took so long.
This is so wonderful where we just come from as well.
Thank you.
What year are all of you?
Year three four.
What's your name?
Oh yeah, he froze off.
I'm staying in the bus.
I'm not staying in the bus.
I'm staying in the bus.
Thank you very much for all your greatness.
You get a very good warm welcome right here.
Do you?
I certainly do.
I like that part.
Have you done head, shoulders, knees and hips?
Yes.
Lovely manners.
How have you guys been doing?
Very nice to meet you.
I'm sorry it's been so wet.
Everyone said yesterday was a nicer day.
We thought spring was here yesterday, didn't we?
But it's not.
It's really warm right now.
We'd like a bit of sunshine.
Is it?
How was it?
Good.
Tell me.
The weather's a bit different this year, isn't it?
My brain works as a catch-up, doesn't it?
As we're going.
You're in touch with someone Welsh.
Well, I certainly am.
They say that I need their English very good next time,
but their Welsh is also quite good,
so I'm feeling a bit ashamed.
Well, we've all been there.
You're in charge of trustees.
Yes.
Terrific space.
It's such a part of local culture as well.
It feels like there's been a really positive shift
towards more Welsh language going through.
Is that because the government have contributed more,
or is that because communities have felt we need to get more?
I think a lot more.
There seem to be,
you see that confident voice of the parents
in the nursery and the schoolyard,
and straight away turn to Welsh.
Some confidence.
I guess using it more is also.
Hear us speak to Welsh people.
Just hear it, and then...
Do you want to hear it?
Be honest.
I'm going to leave you in the room.
I've got to be careful how I say things.
Duolingo.
I use Duolingo a lot.
So that helps a lot.
The owl starts to become more sad.
My owl at the moment is looking very sad at me.
I do think music, though,
is such a good way of speaking the language.
It's often repetitive,
and you're able to pick up vocabulary.
Shortest drive ever.
So, how is the OTC?
I'm so sorry.
I can shake your hand.
Thank you.
I love you.
Thank you.
That's amazing.
Good.
Nice to see you.
Excuse me.
Thank you, boys.
Thank you.
