Hi, I'm Sabrine with BC Liquor. February's cocktail of the month is a classic espresso martini.
The espresso martini is a cocktail that is classically made with vodka but feel free to
spice it up at home with using a tequila or maybe a Canadian whiskey like rye. We're going to make
this a classic. We're going to start off with some vodka with an ounce and a half or 45 ml.
Of course an espresso martini wouldn't be an espresso martini without some sort of coffee
aspect. We're going to add a coffee liqueur for three quarters of an ounce or 22 ml. If you have
sweet tooth or enjoy your coffee a little bit on the sweeter side you can add a little bit of
simple syrup to your drink. I'm going to add a quarter of an ounce or seven ml and of course
we want to make sure that we're adding espresso. If you don't have espresso at home that's okay.
Cold brew works great or even fresh hot coffee. We're going to add three quarters of an ounce or
22 ml. Now if you're using fresh espresso or hot coffee you have to work a little faster because
the ice will melt quickly. If you're using a cold brew you have a little bit more time on your side.
We're going to add ice give it a good shake. All right beautiful frothy espresso martini in hand.
I like to fine train my cocktail. Moves any small ice chips that might be there.
Look at that beautiful texture. Now classically an espresso martini is garnished with
three coffee beans. One is for your health, the second for your wealth, and the third for your
happiness. But feel free to add a little cocoa dusting. A classic espresso martini with vodka.
