Hamilton: ‘The car is much better… we could have been third today’

Hey, Lewis. Yesterday at Reggio Pro you seemed really happy with the car. How did it go in qualy and where do you think you kind of maybe lost out today? The whole weekend was looking good up until Q2. Q1 on the medium tyre was feeling solid and I was feeling great. And then we went into Q2 and we had some problems with our engine so we ended up having to come in. That put a lot of pressure on us to have to go out and just try to execute with one lap on a tyre that we hadn't driven yet, at least in qualifying. And that was tricky. And then we went to Q3 and it was just, again, it was just a mess for everybody. So it was a bit random. I think there's a lot more performance in the car and we just didn't execute those perfectly. So I honestly think if it had gone perfectly I think we could have been third today. So you can take a little optimism for it because I guess there were points last year where P7 would have been okay whereas today it's the opposite today. The car is much better and it's obviously close between except for Mercedes. But I'm excited for what's up ahead.
