Welcome to Sailing Yacht Black Pearl, the 105 meter Oceanco built masterpiece of a yacht. This is not a motor yacht with sails for assistance, this was built around one core idea and that is to be able to sail at an unprecedented scale unlike any other vessel in the world. Welcome to the first ever full walkthrough of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl. Today we're going to be taking you deck by deck and through the entire interior of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl which will be a first of its kind. We're going to find out a little bit further details around what it's like to actually sail a vessel like this under wind power and to do that we're going to be speaking with the captain Chris of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl. He'll be taking us into the systems behind sailing her as well as the philosophy around the build of this incredible vessel. So let's introduce Chris and take you deck by deck on the first official exclusive walkthrough of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl. I'm now joined by Captain Chris, the captain of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl. Chris thank you so much for having us. I know this is such a unique opportunity to show this masterpiece of a vessel the way that we're doing it today. So firstly thank you for having us. If you don't mind could you just give us a short overview and introduction to you and your career and then just a few specifications of Sailing Yacht Black Pearl. All right, my name is Chris Gardner, captain of the Black Pearl. A little bit long at the tooth. I've been in the industry now for about 34 years and majority of my time has been all on sailboats. So I've been very very fortunate to be on some of the most magnificent sailing boats in the world from Marriott of 1915 classic boat to the Maltese Falcon to the three-masted Gafferig schooner Kourou and the Black Pearl. Amazing. Could you give us a few specifications of Black Pearl specifically? Yeah, Black Pearl is 105 meters on deck. We're just under 100 meters on the waterline. We are gross tonnage just just a little less than 3,000 so we're pretty sizable volume. We have three rigs that are just beneath 70 meters high and we have about 3,000 square meters of sail area which we set in eight minutes. Incredible. I'm really looking forward to getting the chance to sail her later but for now if you don't mind if you can take us deck by deck starting here where we are and just kind of walk us through this incredible vessel. Yeah, for sure. This is the sun deck. This area is great. You know it provides us with not only a place to drive the boat while we're under sail it also provides a nice entertainment area with the two bars, a lot of seating areas in this area moving aft. This area we use often for breakfast, lunch. We can also lower these tables to where it can be set up as a really cool chill out cafe sort of scene, port of soleil, lounges and one of the better things about this deck is evening entertainment and we have the ability to set the largest exterior cinema screen in yachting and I say that with confidence because it's the whole bottom sail that we deploy and then the projectors up there by the main mast and it is really incredible on a nice calm evening we provide a great movie feature. It is just the most incredible deck. 360 degree view and then to put a cinema there. I don't know whose idea that was but you've probably got vessels that come and sit off near you to come and watch as well a little bit of a nightmare because people think they're getting a free movie watching whatever we're showing on that particular evening so it's pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to sailing her later but I can imagine guests that are sailing enthusiasts would want to spend a lot of time up here with you near the helm and be able to maybe even feel her. I don't know how if you encourage your guests to be able to feel the helm. For sure we encourage everybody to come and steer the boat with us to learn about the operations of how we trim and ease and sail the boat so it really is a guest experience through and through. Amazing well thanks Chris for this deck. Next deck. And here we are on the upper deck aft area provides our exterior dining as well also an entrance into the upper deck salon which we'll talk more about in a little bit but this area really provides a lot of space to lounge to eat to provide dinner sort of experiences and also our jacuzzi which we can use if we're sailing moderately. We can use when we're motoring day or night and so we have the awnings as well that provide shade which if the guests would like more sun or would like to see the stars or the mast we can take it all down really easily. Amazing so that's good to know that you're able to actually use this while motoring in particular underway for your guests you don't have to drain it every single time sometimes on smaller vessels you're having to drain pools and jacuzzis in this case they can enjoy it cruise underway with Black Exactly jacuzzi and the swimming pool. And then lightly sail as well and if that's the case you're sitting in this pool looking out that just the most incredible backdrop. Pretty cool when you're when you're sitting here and you're looking at this mass with all the sails up and you just see the mass kind of moving it's like they are a wild natural tree blowing in the wind it is amazing pretty cool. I've heard you've done pizza nights up here so you got seating for like you said up to 16 you got pizza nights jacuzzi I mean this must be one of the more used decks. It is and at all points the day and night you know we can make this into a nice intimate two-person dining table or we can lower the tables and make it a nice cool chill out cafe you know it offers a lot of different experiences in just this area. Amazing super versatile thanks Chris where to next? Okay we'll go to the foredeck now and we show you that vast area up there. Definitely one of the most seen areas of Blackpool because it's just huge. Yeah it is amazing. All right so here we have the foredeck and it's a vast expanse of area that we have to offer all the guests and actually we use it a fair amount we we use it for yoga, PT, the guests come up here they can lounge up here on the the lounge chairs. When we're sailing it's really it's really great we do it on our charters sailing into the sunset put a bunch of bean bags up here with lanterns and tables serve drinks and as the sun goes down and it gets dark it's a beautiful beautiful setting on the foredeck. Let's make our way off then see Mendecoft. Sounds good this way and here we have the main aft deck which is actually a really wonderful area for this boat. It provides a big swimming pool right now the floor is up but when we lower it it's about a meter and a half to two meters deep and it has a water jet in there so you can exercise against the water flow. Another nice option about the pool is we can raise the floor and make it into a kiddie or even a baby pool and it's really versatile so so that's nice and when you're in your pool you can jump out of that and go straight down the aft deck to our swim platform jump in the sea and then come up and chill in the lounges or around the tables and either eat breakfast lunch or dinner and again we can take the awning down or have it up whichever the guests would like. Amazing it's incredible how much thought has actually gone into each deck of Sailing Up Blackpool in terms of its versatility like you just mentioned the ability to raise it a bit and leave it there for a kiddies pool or in fact have this up and just have more deck space. I think it's incredible how many aspects of practicality was considered on board Sailing Up Blackpool. Yeah and I think you know as a sailing boat we offer plenty of real estate for everybody to do what they want where they want how they want and another nice feature of this deck is you can actually go down to the spa from here and in there you know it provides more relaxation for the guests. Incredible just a touch on you mentioned down to the swim platform in terms of toys in terms of that traditional superyacht experience do you have everything a normal guest would ask for? Yeah we have most of everything you would want we have a really nice dock that goes out the back of the boat we have our our jet skis we have our e-flights we have our wind surfers kites anything you want we provide sea bobs etc etc. I love how you thought the boat wasn't long enough that you now added a inflatable dock on the stern just to kick it up a notch. Yeah we had to go and we're at now 138 meters. I love it, I love it. All right well let's take us down to the night lounge which will also begin our interior tour of Sailing Up Blackpool which I believe will be a first of its kind so let's head inside. Yeah not many people have seen it. I know I want to ask you about that. Okay Chris on to our first interior space of Sailing Up Blackpool. Yeah here we are in the night lounge is what we call it it provides a lot of different sort of rooms or entertainments amenities it is a area where we can open up the shell doors both port and starboard open the whole area up so it's really you know very light airy comfortable and the shell doors also work as a tender landing station. Amazing I understand this is a very versatile area you've got a gym on the starboard side you've got a massage area on the port side but you can isolate these areas correct? Yeah that's right it's it's actually a pretty cool feature in these tracks this wall will pull out and there's sections that go aft so that will divide the gym from the center room and we have that same sort of option on the port side where our massage therapy room is so you have essentially three rooms that are either separated or one big room that's hugely versatile. Yeah incredible I understand that there are other amenities that also fit into the wellness aspect here as well. Yeah actually there's a lot more to this room we you have your juice bar or your vodka bar depending on what you're doing you also have a hamam back in the corner a sauna hamam a very nice shower port side we offer a hospital or a beauty salon as well so there's a lot going on in this area. That's crazy just to give some perspective we'll show a drone shot now where we are we're right on the stern of setting up Blackpool there's also access right from here correct that goes onto the main deck which is by the pool. I hope you're following this but in terms of one versatile space hamam shower gym can be isolated cinema room you've got a massage area beauty salon that can also be a hospital and direct access to accommodation as well and your juice bar and don't forget the scuba diving center and the scuba diving center and access to the main deck aft and two doors that we can use to land tenders if we want to. Room number one of the interior of Sailing Yacht Blackpool let's head up now to one of my favorite parts yep let's go up there all right Chris wow the first main interior space of Sailing Yacht Blackpool and it is a jaw-dropper please tell me where we are at the moment main deck salon largest room on board the Black Pearl and it is really jaw-dropping it is I mean there's no way I could even touch the ceiling or the deckhead in this space so give me some overview what am I looking at here why does this space just feel so incredible right well it will it's vast one uh the deckhead heights are about 250 so anybody who's really tall will feel comfortable in this room big huge windows on both port and starboard side allow a lot of light into the room and the way it's decorated with the beautiful art our piano uh chandeliers it's a very blingy room give me a quick overview of how this is used you've got this beautiful bar here um you know how's it been used in the past on board charters so it's kind of in two or three sections if you may you forward part we have a drop down flat screen you can sit in the settees up there and watch a movie watch some football whatever you're into uh then you can move back in this area which is more of the entertainment side of things uh in the past we've the bar uh had a really beautiful party in here with charter guests champagne flutes caviar oysters beautiful music we had a piano stump board and uh yeah this room offers a lot i understand that there was purpose design aspects of being able to see pretty much right to the bow of blackpool through the interior is that correct yeah that's right it's uh it's actually an incredible view you can sit in the ford office library and you can look all the way aft and you can see right down to the stern platform it's a 100 meters of view it is pretty cool amazing well i'll follow you forward let's head through to the dining is that correct yep next room will be the main dining salon which is a another beautiful room on board and into what is by far one of the most spectacular i think dining rooms i've certainly ever been in it is an incredible room and it's not just your main dining salon it is a main dining salon where we can open the shell doors both starboard and port and offer the guests a beautiful area a nice terrace to sit on relax before dinner or even after dinner the crew on board setting up blackpool are extremely well versed i think in creating the most incredible space on board i've seen the table uh decor that they've put on here i've seen the chef be involved in this room it really is a space that is just a wow factor again and then your crew take it to the next level don't they yeah a lot of times you know we offer cool entertainment here you know you can offer a masquerade party you can offer games you know entertainment nights the last couple of charters we've had really nice evenings in here where everybody is not dressed normal amazing yeah it's a great we've still got more to see correct so this now moves forward to the office yeah probably my favorite part of the boat it just offers a really nice different aspect and yeah it's the next room forward from here and we call it the office the library or the poker room tell me about this okay so well on both port and starboard you have big windows but probably the best way to have light in this room is our skylight and if you look up our skylight you can see the four mast right now we're not sailing but when we are selling you see just a vast cloud of black sails above you it is pretty it's a great feature where you're taking us to next is that the master and down to the accommodation yeah we'll go to the accommodation deck which is all of our cabins on one deck below amazing let's head there yeah the master cabin uh on the lower deck all of our guest accommodation is located on this deck so master cabin followed by two vips then followed by a twin and then the last cabin on the starboard side is basically two singles with a murphy bed amazing so just to confirm you can sleep 12 guests but up to 14 people on board so that'll include a nanny or an assistant or something like that correct and then in this particular room has got a special feature between the port and starboard side yeah so it's it's a nice feature so we can actually make this master cabin into two cabins if you would like to uh we have a demising wall that comes out of here and with the door in it so you could have your your children in this or your friends sleeping in this room if you needed an extra bedroom uh so yeah it's a little bit versatile so that explains a his and hers bathroom but also if you do separate you've got a bathroom on this side big shower correct and a bath on this side yeah you've got the comfort of a hundred plus meter vessel on sailing up blackpool in terms of guest comfort but the other thing to consider is that you're at water level on the lowest possible deck these areas must be so incredible to sleep out in terms of guest comfort must be amazing it is you know when boats are rocking or we're moving during the night low center of gravity you feel a lot less down here than you would up on the upper deck i can imagine all right well speaking of there's an elevator here that reaches all the guest accommodation uh we're going to take it now and meet you on the upper salon that's correct let's do it let's do it and here we have the upper deck salon the last and final room on board the black pearl again absolutely beautiful design huge circular seating area loads of natural lights and a bar and then access onto the beautiful area with a jacuzzi so it's got everything again yeah again you know everybody comments on the deck solar deck head windows allowing so much light in the aft deck door these couches can move around so you can face them out to the side all facing forward all facing aft and yeah it's it's again another area where you can watch tv with the drop down screen here it provides a beautiful area to just chill amazing well we've given you as brief a tour i think we can of the interior still fairly extensive in compared to anything we've ever had in the past but the goal now is really to take you chris into your place of work the bridge and be able to ask you a few technical questions about sailing this beautiful boat so if you don't mind we'll head in there and i've got some key questions i'm sure everybody would love to know sure let's go to the bridge my favorite part of the boat from a sailor's point of view what is she like to sail tell me about her sailing capabilities you know people look at the boat and think just big and you know what are dyna rigs all about well this boat sails and it sails as well as any sailboat out there uh certain angles maybe we don't point as high into the wind as say a racing boat would but we are efficient streamlined and very quick can you tell me a little bit about the journey over here in terms of fuel usage how often she was sailed and just a bit about that journey yeah for sure uh the boat was uh just sailed from tenerife to antigua uh my back-to-back christian truder ct he was lucky enough to be on and uh sailed the entire way it was from tenerife antigua less than 10 days and the boat burned only 16 000 liters which might sound like a lot but compared to some of these uh yachts that motor across some of the yachts in the motoring across using 100 to 150 000 liters of fuel which means you could do that six times over for the same for for you know far less fuel easily so you know everybody asks us what our range is well we don't really have a range because as long as we have wind we can be either sailing across wind assisted or if there's no wind we motor for a little bit but we all sail and how many crew actively are involved in terms of sailing well in terms of sailing we really only need one we can sail the boat with just one person which we've done many times uh so yeah it's it's like a big dinghy the sailing masters on board which is a handful of us uh between the captain the chief officer and the second officer we can set all the sails in less than eight minutes we can furl all the sails in less than eight minutes we can tack jibe steer maneuver under sail one person is black pearl a yacht that you'd recommend to people to actually sail on charter and then what is their reaction when they start sailing oh yeah i mean that is one of the things that we really promote is we're a sailing boat we're a comfortable sailing boat we provide a huge uh platform at 105 meters and yeah it's it's all about sailing for us we encourage people that charter us to come and learn how to sail on a big boat amazing chris well it's been one of my lifelong dreams to sail black pearl so uh if you don't mind can we go sailing let's go sailing and let's push it today it's going to be awesome out there conditions are
