Can you guess what I am?
It's Halloween. Can you guess what I am?
I'm a bumblebee.
Yes, I'm a bumblebee.
We're celebrating Halloween today.
Friends, some people celebrate Halloween by wearing costumes,
by going trick-or-treating, picking pumpkins, carving jack-o'-lanterns,
and just having fun.
Today, we're going to have a Halloween dance party.
I can't wait.
But, it's time for us to go into the classroom.
Are you ready?
Great. Let's go.
Hi, friends. It's time for circle time.
Come on in. Join me on the rug.
It's time for circle time.
Good morning.
How are you?
How are you, friends?
My name is Miss Monica.

All of our friends wearing green
Hello friends, and we'll say hello to everyone that's come to Circle!
Choo choo!
Hello friends!
Hello friends, welcome to Circle Time!
That was my train whistle I was using.
I am so happy you are all here today.
We have so much to do.
Oh, it's our special spooky fun Halloween Circle Time!
Remember, I'm dressed up like a bumblebee today.
Friends, can you wave hello?
Let's say hello to one another.
Let's start with one hand.
Hold up one hand.
And can you wave from side to side?
Side to side.
Just like that.
Good job, keep going.
And side to side.
Side to side.
And can you wave faster?
Faster, faster, faster!
And stop.
And can you wave slow?
Slow, slow.
And stop.
How about up high?
Can you wave up high, high, high?
And stop.
And let's try down low.
Can you wave down low, low, low?
And stop.
Let's try two hands if you can.
Can you wave fast, fast, fast?
And stop.
And can you wave slow, slow, slow?
And stop.
Wonderful!
Friends, can you hold up two hands?
And I want you to practice.
Open, shut.
Again.
Hold up two hands and open, now shut.
Again.
Open, shut.
Oh, let's try it again.
Open, shut.
Again, again, again.
Open, shut.
Let's sing our song.
Open, shut them.
Give a little clap, clap, clap.
Let's try that again.
Give a little clap, clap, clap.
Did you clap?
Again, clap, clap.
Now, creep them, crawl them.
Creep them, crawl them.
Right up to your chin, chin, chin.
Touch your chin.
Open wide your little mouth.
What?
But do not let them in, in, in.
Oh, wonderful.
Friends, it's time for us to say hello.
How about we sing our song and spell the word too?
H-E-L-L-O.
That's how we spell hello.
Everyone say hello.
Again, say hello.
One more time.
Everyone say hello.
Now, let's sing.
Get ready, get ready.
Here we go.
It's a brand new day, friends.
Let's spell hello.
One, two, three.
H-E-L-L-O.
That's how we spell hello.
Hello.
H-E-L-L-O.
That's how we spell hello.
Hello.
Hello from me.
Hello to you.
It's a beautiful day.
How do you do?
It's time to learn.
It's time to play.
Let's gather around and let's all say hello.
Hello.
H-E-L-L-O.
H-E.
Hello from me.
Hello to you.
It's a beautiful day.
How do you do?
Time to start our day.
But before we do, say hello.
Hello.
Wave those hands as fast as you can.
Hello.
Oh, hello, everyone.
Peek-a-boo.
I see you.
Hello.
Can you try peek-a-boo with me?
Okay, let's try it together.
Take those hands again and let's cover our eyes.
No peeking.
Cover those eyes and say peek-a-boo.
I see you.
Again.
Cover those eyes.
Peek-a-boo.
I see you.
Again.
Peek-a-boo.
I see you.
Peek-a-boo to you.
I see you.
Oh, my friends, today I'm feeling really, really happy.
How do you feel today?
Boo!
Peek-a-boo.
Doctor, you scared me.
Did I scare you, Miss Monica?
You did scare me.
I didn't even know you were here today.
That felt so scary.
Oh, Duck Duck, we were just playing peek-a-boo.
Do you want to play peek-a-boo, too?
Yes, I do.
Okay, let's play peek-a-boo with Duck Duck one more time.
All right, let's cover our eyes.
I'll cover your eyes, Duck Duck.
And here we go.
Peek-a-boo.
I see you.
I see you, Duck Duck, and I see you, too.
That was so much fun.
Duck Duck, how do you feel today?
I feel happy.
Oh, I feel happy, too.
I'm happy that my friends are here, you're here,
and we're celebrating Halloween
and having a good, fun, spooky Halloween time.
Yes, that sounds like spooky fun.
It does.
Well, friends, we all have many, many feelings.
Sometimes I feel happy.
And sometimes I even feel scared.
Duck Duck scared me today.
You have many feelings, too.
How about we sing a song about feelings?
Will you sing with me, Duck Duck?
Yes.
Wonderful.
Will you sing with me, everyone?
Great.
Get ready, get ready.
Here we go.
I have many feelings.
Feelings are what I have.
I have many feelings.
Feelings are what I have.
I have many feelings.
Feelings are what I have.
Sometimes I'm happy.
Sometimes I'm sad.
Sometimes I'm silly.
Sometimes I'm mad.
Sometimes I'm sleepy.
Sometimes surprised.
When I'm scared of something, I close my eyes.
All these emotions, they can make me cry.
I have many feelings, feelings are what I have.
When I'm happy, I like to smile.
When I'm sad, I make a frown.
Sometimes I'm up, sometimes I'm down.
When I'm silly, I laugh out loud.
Now I know that feelings are what I have.
I have many feelings, feelings are what I have.
I have many feelings, please don't make me sad.
I have many feelings, can you make me laugh?
I have many feelings, feelings are what I have.
And you have many feelings too.
And you too, Duff Duff.
I do.
Aw, thank you for singing the feelings song with me.
And now friends, it's time to have even more spooky fun.
Are you ready?
Great!
Duff Duff, remember last Halloween when we opened a real pumpkin?
Yes, yes, I remember.
That was so much fun.
We got to look inside the pumpkin and there were lots and lots of...
Do you remember what you saw?
Maybe I need to look again.
Let's take a look.
Duff Duff, we're here.
Friends, are you ready to look inside the pumpkin?
Oh, me too.
We're actually going to look in the big one and the small one today.
Duff Duff, I'll need your help.
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Okay, I'm ready.
Okay, now before we look inside, let's feel the outside of the pumpkin.
Listen.
Hear that?
Listen again.
That sounds pretty hard.
Did you hear that, Duff Duff?
Yes, the outside of the pumpkin is hard.
And it feels rough and bumpy.
Feel it, Duff Duff.
It's bumpy.
Yes, and it's hard.
I think the small one is the same.
Feel it, Duff Duff.
Yes, yes, it's bumpy.
It's bumpy and hard.
Now let's look inside.
Do you think it's bumpy and hard inside too?
I don't know.
Let's take a peek.
I already cut the top of the pumpkin so we can look inside.
Okay, Duff Duff and friends, let's count to three
and then I'm going to open the pumpkin.
Here we go.
One, two, three.
Wow, look inside.
Look at this, friends.
Wow, look, Duff Duff.
There's so many seeds inside.
Wow, look inside.
There are so many seeds and some stringy pumpkin too.
Let's look, Duff Duff.
Wow.
Now friends, on the outside or the top right here,
it looks a little wet.
I wonder if it feels wet.
It does.
Feel it, Duff Duff.
Yes, yes, it feels wet.
And let me put my hand inside too.
Let's see if it feels wet inside.
Yes, it feels wet inside.
This part of the pumpkin reminds me of string.
It's so stringy.
It's called the fibrous strands.
These are the strands.
There it is.
Look at that.
These are pumpkin strands.
Oh, and they're wet too.
All inside our pumpkin and attached are seeds.
Do you see how wet it is?
There are seeds attached.
So I'm going to try to take some seeds out.
Let's put all of our seeds in our orange bowl.
Will you help, Duff Duff?
Okay, Duff Duff's going to hold the bowl.
Let's put all of the orange seeds inside.
Thank you, Duff Duff, for holding the bowl.
Oh, I'm going to put all my seeds inside.
The seeds are not orange, friends.
The seeds are actually like white.
Or some may call this a cream color.
Look at that.
Let's put them inside.
Let's see if we can collect a lot of seeds.
Seeds, friends, can be used to plant and then maybe grow new pumpkins.
And lots of people also take seeds,
clean them off after they take them out of the pumpkin,
and they can bake them.
You can bake seeds, and then you can eat them.
What else do they do with pumpkins?
Oh, there are lots of things you can do with pumpkins, Duff Duff.
You can make pumpkin pie.
You can make pumpkin muffins.
Mmm, delicious.
Some people even make pumpkin cakes and cookies,
and maybe even pumpkin drinks.
Do you like pumpkins, Duff Duff?
Yes, I like to look at them.
Oh, I like to look at them too.
I can even decorate the outside of my pumpkin as well.
Wow, look at how many seeds we have so far.
Whoa, that's a lot of seeds, and there's lots more inside.
Look at that.
There's still so many more seeds inside the pumpkin.
Now, I wonder if the small pumpkin looks the same.
Do you think it looks the same?
Well, let's take a look at this one one more time.
Inside are lots of seeds.
They're white seeds and orange stringy things coming out of the pumpkin.
Look at that.
So it's orange inside with lots of white seeds.
Now let's take a look at our small pumpkin.
Let's push that to the side, Duff Duff.
And I'm going to use one of our little paper towels here to wipe my hands a little bit.
And now let's look at our small pumpkin.
Oh, it's so cute.
Remember this cute one?
Okay, let's open up the top.
On the count of three, will you help us count?
Okay, let's count.
Here we go.
One, two, three.
Wow, look inside the top.
There's seeds on top.
Look.
Wow.
And feel it, Duff Duff.
It's wet inside of this one too.
I still have orange on me from the other one.
But inside of this one, I don't see anything orange.
There's nothing orange.
Everything looks white, just like the pumpkin.
Let's take out some of these seeds.
Look at these seeds.
These seeds are small, just like the pumpkin.
And there's white stringy things coming out of this pumpkin as well.
Look at that.
Wow.
They're so small.
Let's get one of the big pumpkin seeds and put it next to these.
Look at the difference.
We have small and big.
Let me make sure you all can see that.
Can you see that?
These seeds are small and these are big.
Wow.
So now you've seen the inside of two pumpkins.
The small white one and the big, big orange pumpkin.
Let's hold that pumpkin there, Duff Duff.
Look at that.
Wonderful.
That was so much fun, friends.
Now it's time for us to clean our hands and clean off some of these pumpkin seeds.
I think I'm going to bake my pumpkin seeds and taste them.
What do you think, Duff Duff?
Okay.
We'll do it another time.
But I'm going to put them to the side for now.
Oh, my friends, I hope you had fun looking inside of a real pumpkin.
Look at that.
Look at the top of it.
Lots of seeds.
It's time for us to clean up and then go back over to the other side of the classroom.
Friends, it's time to find out the letter of the day.
Oh, but first I need to find my pointer.
Where is my pointer?
Can you help me say pointer?
Here it is.
Thank you, friends.
Our letter of the day is, drum roll please, H letter.
Can you say H?
Again, say H.
One more time.
Say H.
H is our letter of the day.
Every letter makes a sound and H says H.
Can you make that sound?
Good.
One more time.
Let's sing it again.
Every letter makes a sound and H says H.
You did it.
I wonder what words start with letter H.
Maybe our friend Bear Bear can help us.
Bear Bear loves letters.
But we have to shout out and call Bear Bear really, really loud so he can hear us.
Will you help me?
Great.
Say Bear Bear.
Oh, that wasn't loud enough.
Again.
Say Bear.
Oh, there you are.
Hi, Bear Bear.
Will you help us figure out what words start with letter H?
Yes, Miss Monica.
I know words that begin with the letter H, like house.
House begins with letter H.
Look at that scary house.
Another word that begins with the letter H is hungry.
I'm starting to feel a bit hungry.
And for my last word that begins with the letter H, it's honey.
I love honey.
Now, let's go find Piggy Pig and Koala.
Bye, friends.
Happy Halloween.
Oh, thank you, Bear Bear.
You are so helpful.
Trick or treat, give me something good to eat.
Boo!
Oh, treat. Give me something good to eat.
Trick or treat, give me something good to eat.
Look, friends . . . pumpkins sitting on a cake.
Let's count and sing.
Five little pumpkins sitting on the gate.
One said, oh my, it's getting late.
The second one said, there's whistling in the air.
The third one said, but care.
The fourth one said, let's run and run and run.
And the pumpkins rolled out of the gate.
Friends, let's make a pattern.
We're going to use two colors, orange and white.
Repeat after me.
Orange, white, orange, white.
What comes next?
Orange.
If you said orange, you're correct.
Let's try it again.
Repeat after me.
White, orange, white, orange, white.
What comes next?
Orange.
You're correct.
If you said orange, that's the answer.
Let's count bats.
Are you ready?
Here we go.
One little, two little, three little bats.
Four little, five little, six little bats.
Whoa!
Seven little, eight little, nine little bats.
Ten little bats flying in the sky.
One little, two little, three little bats.
Whoa!
Four little, five little, six little bats.
Whoa!
Seven little, eight little, nine little bats.
Wow!
Ten little flying in the sky.
You did it.
I think I can use this when I go trick or treating.
Oh, but there are goodies inside.
Let's see what's inside.
I'm going in.
I found something.
I have to pull it out.
On the count of three.
One, two, three.
A spider.
Oh, this is a toy spider.
It's pretend, but it's a nice little spider.
Hello, Mr. Spider.
Hello.
Okay, I'm going to put the spider right there.
Let's see what else is inside.
Oh, how about we sing a song called the Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Will you sing with me?
Great.
Okay, get your fingers ready.
We're going to pretend they're all spider.
Are you ready?
Here we go.
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout.
Oh, it's moving.
Let's keep going.
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
Uh-oh.
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
Yay.
Look at the spider going up the water spout using its web.
Oh, come down little spider.
Come on down.
It's okay.
Oh, this is a nice spider.
Everyone say hello to the little spider.
Hello.
What color is the spider?
Black.
That's correct.
It's black.
Let's sing about it.
Black spider, black spider, black, black, black.
Again.
Black spider, black spider, black, black, black.
Oh, thank you little spider.
Hey, we'll see you later.
Bye.
Ooh, let's see what else is in the bucket.
Here I go.
Ooh, look at that.
It's an orange pumpkin.
Let's sing about it.
Oh, there's another.
We can sing about two orange pumpkins.
Here we go.
Orange pumpkins, orange pumpkins, orange, orange, orange.
What color?
Orange.
Oh, and look at this, friends.
If you turn them around, they have faces.
Now they're jack-o'-lanterns.
All right, let's put them down on the table.
Let's see what else is inside.
Ooh, what's that?
What's that?
Oh, it's a rat.
Can you say rat?
Say ooh.
Say rat.
What color is it?
It's white.
Let's sing about it.
White, rat, white, white, white, white.
Again.
White, rat, rat, rat, white, white, white.
It's a rat.
Oh, you can stay right there, Mr. Rat.
Oh, let's see what else is inside.
Ooh, it's a witch's broom.
And it's yellow.
Let's sing about it.
Yellow, broom, yellow, broom, yellow.
What color?
Yellow.
Oh, just like my suit.
Yellow.
Oh, look at this.
Ooh.
It's a ghost, a friendly ghost.
Hello, friendly ghost.
Ooh.
What color is it?
White.
Yes, it has some flowers there.
But we're going to say white ghost.
White.
We're going to say ooh.
A white ghost.
Oh, look at this.
It's a purple pumpkin.
Let's sing about it.
Purple pumpkin.
That's it for now, friends.
Thank you for helping me sing our colors.
Let's see what else is in our bucket.
Ooh, look at this, friends.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
Whoa.
Wow.
Everyone say wow.
Wow.
It's a red scarf.
Can you say red?
Again, say red.
Let's sing about it.
Red scarf, red scarf, red.
All right.
Let's keep our red scarf here.
Do, do, do, do, do.
Oh, there are more.
Let's see what else is there.
What other colors?
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
Wow.
Everyone say wow.
Wow.
What color do you see?
Purple.
It's a purple scarf.
Let's sing about it.
Purple scarf, purple scarf, purple.
Yeah.
Purple.
Do you think there are more colors?
Let's see.
Oh, oh, oh.
I think I see another color.
Oh, here it comes.
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
Wow.
Everyone say wow.
What color is it?
Yellow, just like my suit.
Let's sing about it.
Yellow scarf, yellow scarf, yellow.
Yellow.
Oh, do you think there are more colors inside?
Let's see.
Oh, oh, oh.
I think I see another color.
Get ready.
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
What are we going to say?
Wow.
What color do you see?
Blue.
Let's sing about it.
Here we go.
Blue.
Do you think there are more colors inside?
Let's see.
Oh, there's one more color.
Here it comes.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
What do we say?
Wow.
What color do you see?
Orange.
Let's sing about it.
Orange scarf.
Yay.
Ooh, friends.
Look at all of the beautiful colors we found today.
These beautiful scarves.
Look at this.
Wow.
Lots of colors.
Colors.
Thank you for singing.
Where is my pointer?
I need it for our next activity.
Oh, pointer.
There you are.
My pointer.
Friends, get your pointers ready.
On the count of three, let's shout out pumpkin.
Are you ready?
Here we go.
One, two, three.
Pumpkin.
It's a pumpkin.
This is a small pumpkin.
Everyone say small.
Again, say small.
Point to the small pumpkin.
Good.
Let's see if we can find a big pumpkin.
Let's use our pointers.
Here we go.
On the count of three, say pumpkin.
One, two, three.
Pumpkin.
Whoa.
This pumpkin is big.
Everyone say big.
Again, say big.
Now say small.
Big.
Again, big.
Small.
Okay, take your pointers.
Point to the big pumpkin.
Big.
Now point to the small pumpkin.
Small, small, small.
Good.
Now you know big and small.
Big and small.
Let's play another game.
Okay.
Pumpkins disappear.
One, two, three.
Oh, no more pumpkins.
The table is clear.
Now let's play a game.
When I take my pointer and say pumpkin,
either a big pumpkin or a small pumpkin will appear.
Whatever you see, I want you to shout it out.
Big or small.
Ready?
Okay, you can do it.
Here we go.
Everyone say pumpkin.
Small, small.
It's small.
Good job.
Don't forget, shout it out.
Okay.
Bye-bye, pumpkin.
Pumpkin.
Whoa.
It's big.
Let's try again.
Pumpkin.
Ooh.
It's small.
One more time, one more time.
Pumpkin.
Whoa.
It's big.
You did it.
Whoa.
This is a big, big pumpkin.
Let's see if I can pick it up.
Ooh.
It's a big pumpkin.
It's pretty heavy.
You did it, friends.
It's time for our Halloween dance party.
Are you ready?
Great.
We're going to start with the hokey pokey dance first.
And today, I am going to use a scarf.
You can use one, too.
You can get any kind of scarf.
You can get a rag, a t-shirt, anything you have.
So, grown-ups, make sure the kids have something they can shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake.
Okay?
All right.
Let's get ready for the hokey pokey first.
Get ready.
Here we go.
It's time for the hokey pokey.
Put your right hand in.
Take your right hand out.
Put your right hand in.
Shake it all about.
Do the hokey pokey and you pokey.
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake.
Put your left hand in.
Take it out.
Put your left hand in.
And you shake it all about.
Pokey and you turn yourself, that's what it's all about.
Pokey.
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake.
Now put your body and you shake it all about.
Pokey, pokey, and you turn yourself around, but it's all about.
Yes!
And now it's time for the freeze dance.
When the music stops, we freeze.
That means we're frozen.
And when the music starts, you dance, dance, dance.
You can use your scarf again and just shake and dance and have a good time.
Are you ready?
Great.
Here we go.
Let's dance.
Are you frozen?
Did you freeze?
Good.
Keep on going.
And freeze.
Did you freeze?
Good.
Keep on going.
Freeze.
Did you freeze?
Good.
Keep on going.
You did it.
Thank you for dancing with me, friends.
Woo!
Friends, I had such a great time with you today.
Thank you for coming to Circle Time.
I hope you had some spooky fun.
But now it's time for us to say goodbye.
I'll see you again soon.
