Join me as I discuss my evolving home office setup after four years in this space. I'm contemplating a complete room makeover to better suit my growth as a creator. This video provides some serious home office inspiration as I plan out my ideal workspace setup and office design.
So I've been living in this space for almost four years,
which is crazy to think about.
Over the past year, I've been contemplating
making a change to the home office and my desk setup
because I've grown so much in life,
I've grown so much as a creator,
and I want my space to evolve just like I have
over this past few years.
So I've been thinking through how I want the space to look,
what changes make sense, what changes don't.
It's tough because I really do love
the home office aesthetic I've built over the years.
This warm Japandi style has been a centerpiece
for my content and has honestly evolved so much over time.
It feels so personal and unique to me.
It's gonna be quite the journey transitioning the space.
And I can really see how much the space has changed
over the years going through my Instagram feed,
but it does feel like I've maxed out its potential
with this specific setup.
Hi, my name is Jossie.
I'm a tech and lifestyle creator here in New York City.
I review phones, cars,
and everything pretty much in between.
In today's video, I'm gonna take you on a journey
of recreating and designing my workspace for 2026.
I've had this setup for years.
It's traveled with us through multiple apartments,
and I've really been wanting to transition
into a more minimalist industrial space,
but still keep a somewhat warm and cozy vibe
that you all are used to.
I've taken some inspiration from some of my favorite cafes
and spaces in New York City to come up with this idea.
So I'm excited to take you all along on the journey.
Before we continue this video,
we are so close to 200K,
and we have a channel goal of 250K before the end of 2026,
and hitting the 200K milestone
would be massive for the channel.
So I really appreciate it if you consider subscribing
and also considering hitting a thumbs up.
It helps out with the algorithm
and lets me know if you guys vibe with the video.
All right, so we're going to this Montana Wire Cube
in this corner.
And the idea, like long-term,
is to maybe have four of these,
like a two-by-two kind of thing,
just as another shelving unit
because we are running out of storage,
and we love our apartment
and don't necessarily want to move anytime soon.
I mean, if you're wondering why I have afros,
it's because I'm about to go to a barbershop,
but that's not important.
So our odor drill that we bought from Home Depot,
or actually Ikea, is dead,
and I have no idea how to charge it.
Either way, we were able to use
whatever drill and piece this is
to get a little bit of a hole.
So hopefully we can use this HOTO drill
to fully break into the wall.
So I asked Alexa,
what's the distance that I need for both holes
in order to make the wire cube
be perfectly centered on this wall?
And I think she was spot on.
She said six inches from the left for the first hole,
and 18.4 inches from the left for the second hole.
And it looks perfectly centered.
Like, look at this.
It's perfectly symmetrical.
But it remains to be seen if she was 100% accurate
because we haven't installed the wire cube yet.
But the tough part was really just figuring out
the distance between each hole.
And now's the easy part where we just mount the wire cube.
I was a little nervous
because they only gave us two of the wall plugs.
So I had zero room for error,
but we got those installed.
And I'm just watching this video, basically.
So, to figure out how to properly install this
because I don't,
I might've like thrown out the instructions.
All right, so I'm a little bit of a pickle
because for some odd reason,
I didn't add wheels to the bottom of the Husky drawer.
So silly.
If any of you all decide to pick this up,
yes, it does look very modern when there's no wheels
and there's no space between the floor and the drawer.
However, it's just not practical.
And now we're in a pickle because there's not enough space
to bring the new desk in with the Husky drawer right here.
So we have to like maneuver the desk around the Husky
while also moving the Husky without any wheels.
And it is so freaking heavy.
But as you can see,
I cleaned out a good amount of the space
and I posted an ASMR version of this desk setup refresh
on TikTok and Instagram.
Be sure to follow me on there.
I post a lot more frequently
just because it's easier to post on there.
And I just think those platforms are great
when you have random sparks of inspiration
and you wanna share it.
And yes, I cut my hair again.
I think the best way to do this
is to just simply move all this stuff,
this clutter onto the Ergonofis desk
and then we'll figure out
how to bring the new Herman Miller desk in here.
But I'll actually need to move the Ergonofis desk
out of here first.
I think moving the couch would be easier
because then if I move the couch this way,
I can just, I don't know.
We'll figure it out.
Thank you to Herman Miller for sponsoring today's video.
This year, I wanted my desk setup to feel lighter,
more intentional, and honestly,
more supportive of how much time I spend creating.
The biggest upgrade was bringing
the Herman Miller Aeron into my space.
It's incredibly comfortable,
but what I love most is how thoughtful it's designed.
Between how the suspension distributes my weight evenly,
the adjustable posture fit SL supports my entire spine,
and the harmonic two tilt
makes every movement feel natural and balanced.
As someone who dealt with neck
and upper back strain over the years,
having a chair that's ergonomic to the core really matters.
And the Aeron's design is timeless.
I wanted to go with the metallic frame and base
because it fits perfectly with this cleaner,
white aesthetic desk setup I'm shifting toward.
I like that it's low key without a headrest,
but still feels like a centerpiece in the room.
The spoused to stand table completes the refresh.
I chose it because it blends functionality
with this really elegant, seamless look.
The legs flow straight into the floor,
the white surface keeps my setup feeling airy,
and the built-in cable management
is some of the best I've used.
Everything tucks away neatly with hidden channels,
magnetic clips, and even a storage drawer.
And the old lamp ties it all together.
It adds just enough warmth and sophistication
without distracting from the space.
The touch control on the base and stem
makes it feel modern and effortless.
Altogether, this setup feels like the perfect balance
of comfort, design, and intention,
exactly what I wanted from my workspace this year.

I showcased today,

A high quality desk drawer is a must to maximize space,
storage, and because I think a desk drawer completes the look
like having a spoiler on your favorite sports car.
The desk drawer I decided to go with
is the OE1 Trolley from Herman Miller.
It has a slim and minimalist profile.
I went with the top tip out file bin configuration.
It has wheels so I can move it around whenever I need.
It's the definition of flexible functionality,
adapting to my space perfectly.
For the keyboard, I've been using
the Logitech Alto Keys K98M,
which is a wireless mechanical keyboard.
What makes this one interesting
is the uni-cushioned gasket structure.
So the typing experience is really soft and tactile
without feeling overly loud.
But honestly, the draw was the design.
The keyboard has this transparent frame
with black and gray accents,
and when it sits on top of the white laminate desk,
it almost feels like a piece of industrial design
rather than just another keyboard.
It looks premium, feels great to type on,
and visually fits the aesthetic of the space perfectly.
Underneath that, I'm using the Black Snail Desk Mat
from, I'm probably gonna butcher this,
but a Glaston Studio.
Normally, I'd go with a standard neutral desk mat,
but since the desk itself is basically a blank slate now,
I felt like I could experiment a little bit more.
This one has a really unique shape and design
that almost acts like a centerpiece of the desk
without overwhelming it.
It adds just enough visual interest
while still keeping the overall setup toned down and minimal.
For the monitor, I'm still using the Apple Studio display,
and honestly, it's been my favorite monitor for years.
So I'm really excited about the second iteration of this
that Apple recently released,
and hopefully I can get my hands on that Pro XDR display.
But even when I was working as a tech professional
before content creation was my full-time job,
this monitor just makes sense.
The 5K resolution, the glossy display,
and the color accuracy are still incredible.
Everything looks vibrant and sharp
when editing photos or video,
and personally, I still think 27 inches
is the perfect monitor size.
It's big enough to be productive,
but not so big that it overwhelms the desk.
For the mouse, I'm using the Logitech MX Master 4.
At this point, it just becomes my go-to productivity mouse,
upgrading with each new version.
The ergonomics are great,
the scroll wheel is fantastic for editing timelines,
and it's just one of those tools
that quietly makes your workflow better.
For the laptop, I'm currently using the M5 MacBook Pro.
The Basin 5 chip has actually been really solid
for day-to-day tasks and even some video editing.
That said, the M4 Pro with the M4 Pro chip
and 32 gigs of RAM has still been my go-to
for heavier editing sessions.
But for everyday work, scripting, and managing content,
the Basin 5 has been plenty capable.
One thing I've always tried to stick with
when it comes to my desk setup is keeping things minimal.
I don't really like adding accessories
that I don't use every day.
If something is on the desk,
it needs to actually serve a purpose.
That philosophy has honestly helped the space
feel calmer and more focused.
I've got the ESR Qi 2.2 3-in-1 charger with Cryo Boost.
It handles my Apple Watch Ultra 3, my iPhone 17 Pro Max,
or whatever MagSafe-capable device I'm using at the time,
my AirPods or Pixel Buds Pro,
and it keeps everything organized
and avoids having cables all over the desk.
The small change that made a surprisingly big difference
in this space was swapping out my pegboard.
For years, I had the white IKEA SCADAS pegboard,
the 30-by-22-inch version,
but recently I switched it out
for a black pegboard with the same size.
The reason was pretty simple.
With the new desk setup,
everything started to feel really light and airy,
so I wanted one area of the space
that felt a bit more moody and contrasted.
And honestly, the black pegboard
fits this space so much better,
especially pairing it with my Husky
with the white drawers and maple wood top
and the Amazon Echo Show 11,
powering a lot of the automations in the home office.
It gives the whole area a bit more personality.
I also added the seven-piece accessory set
and some storage baskets,
which make it easier to keep things I use daily
within reach, like journals, books I'm currently reading,
camera gear, and other small accessories.
It's functional, but also adds a glimpse
into my everyday life as a creator.
