I can't believe it. I can kiss it. I'm so happy. I can't believe we've never been here. Today we are
going to take you out thrifting. We're going to hit a few of our local spots. It's going to be
kind of a quick journey out today, but then we're going to take you on a really exciting adventure
to Central Oregon. We're going to have a nice relaxing three-day time with some friends in
Central Oregon and then obviously we're going to have to hit up some thrift stores. We love
thrifting in Central Oregon. So first we're going to do a quick local run and then we will take you
to Central Oregon with us. This is beautiful. I think it's painted Mexican pottery, but I'm not
sure. Oh, it's a dragon and I don't think it's Mexican pottery unless it's the mythical sea
dragon, the sea serpent, but now I'm not so sure. That's very beautiful. We're definitely getting it
$7.99 as is probably just from the chippiness. Gorgeous. Look at this sloth. Does he hang or is
he just a little figurine? $6.99. I think it's just a figurine. It's kind of a weird position.
It should be like this. Oh my gosh. Look, now he's smiling. How much cuter did it just get?
But also like that's unfinished. Oh, wait a second. It's a planter, I think, and there's
supposed to be something on top. Oh, maybe. No. Well, it's glazed on the inside, which means it
should be holding water in there. Yeah. And maybe you'd put the flower. Oh my gosh. Do you put the
flowers in there? Like he's holding onto a tree branch. That was really cute. I'm like, no, I
don't know if this is old or if this is new, but I really like it. It's like a wishbone almost.
It doesn't have any stamps or marks. $12.99, but blue is the half off color, so it's half price.
We're going to get it. I think that could look very cool. I'm not a huge fan of milk glass,
but it's a very pretty shape. It has a little ruffled top. $9.99 now. It's probably only worth
about $20. It's a special one for World Wide Fund for Nature. $2.99. It's very pretty. This
is pretty. I like it. It almost looks like a seashell. Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. $4.99.
We need to check the shelves. That's a good find. Just a dish by itself. Yeah, I think so. But just
in case there's more. No way. Jesse had to step away for a phone call and I found an Ikea fruit
basket. A cool thing to look through. Take a look through that scope and then I'll show you what
I'm hiding behind my back. That's a kaleidoscope. Isn't that cool? Yeah. Does it move? No, that's
why I'm not sure if I'm going to get it because I can't figure out how to work it. I thought maybe
you would take different ones and turn it. It's still cool. And I just found a Pitosi. $6.99.
I just found a Pitosi on the shelf at Goodwill. I'm pumped. I'm so happy. No chips or cracks
or anything? No, just a little. I mean, that's kind of a glaze imperfection. I think that's
just wire. It's not chips and it's not heavily stained inside either from soil.
I can't believe it. You got it. I can kiss it. I'm so happy. I love this Pitosi so much. Oh my gosh,
look at the lava glaze on it. And you know what I love so much about this one is it's actually
different than a lot of them that we already have. This is a for sure forever keeper. You're
going to have to get this at my estate sale someday. I'm just excited because we're not
very matchy matchy at our house, but obviously we both love Pitosi ceramics. And so we do have
some that have the same patterns and it's really hard to let go of when you find them at a thrift
store for such a good deal. So I'm excited about this one because I think it's going to tie in
really well with some of the ones that we already have. It was $6.99. And it was there yesterday on
the shelves. So who missed it? Walking right by it. Who missed it? What were you thinking? Maybe
you missed it on purpose so we would find it. Thank you. I will cherish it. What's that say?
1983. It's a Blanco ship and I think it is. It looks like it, but then it also says CS.
I'm not sure. Maybe it's not a Blanco. We're gonna have to do a little bit of research to
see why it's got that CS on it. We're also checking to see if there's a second one anywhere
because looking is obviously so much better when you've got a set. I don't think you can't sell
individuals. It's a music box and it's handmade. It's $6.99. Look at all of this inlaid work.
That's beautiful. Mark and Sally. I hope you're still together forever. The shape on this chair
is so cool. It's $14.99. It's newer and it has a very flat seat that does not look comfortable.
Man, if there was a set of these, I would consider them and then you could reupholster
them something more comfortable. I think I might be interested in this art. There's a
massive piece of art. It's $29.99. I need some help getting this uncovered. First,
we're going to move the giant spider skeleton. I'm going to leave that one up to you. I don't
even like fake spiders. Oh, this is cool. It's an original. It's upside down right now. It's
got the little mid-century people. It says Bernard. I love the people over here shopping
the flowers at this Parisian market. This was amazing. This was the quickest thrift trip that
I've been this satisfied with. We got some really cool stuff at our first stop. Only a couple items
at our second stop, but I'm still happy. We had an amazing quick trip out thrifting. Now, we're
going to take you to Central Oregon, one of our favorite places to go. We will see you in Sun
River, Oregon very soon. We're doing some shopping in Bend. We're going to Redmond and we're going
to see what we can find. Oh, look at these. That's a colorful kitty. It's $7.99. A bird,
a toucan. I wonder where those are from. Costa Rica? This kind of looks like the Nancy Funk
hands almost. It's a vase. World Market, $14.99. We have the coolest hands. They are actually not
installed in our bathroom yet, but during our remodel, which we're going to do down the road,
we're going to get them installed. There's a huge set of this beautiful Lenox. It even has a
serving platter, lots of plates, little cups and saucers. This one's really pretty too. Awesome
Lenox. That's an old one. Wow. Somebody must have donated an entire collection. There's so
many different designs. This is a really neat lidded canister. It has a few chips there on
the rim. It's not too bad. It's artisan. That actually looks like it could be used as a bowl
too because the glaze is on the inside. $7.99. I think I'm going to pass because of the chips
today though. I'm pretty excited about this basket. It's actually a really beautiful old
antique Chinese wedding basket. It's got just the right amount of the antiques flaws that I love to
have things look old and primitive. And I think this would look so beautiful on a big bookshelf.
There was so much of this Lenox porcelain there. It was kind of surprising. I don't usually see
that much of it. Some Lenox sells really well, some of it doesn't. It just depends on the pattern
and if it's in perfect condition. You want to make sure this gold has not been worn off at all. You
want it in as good a condition as possible. Dishware doesn't sell great for me so I don't
pick it up often but I do love this pattern so I decided to go ahead and get the set of eight of
them. They were $2.99 each. Then I got this beautiful kind of a purple lavender hued cream
vase. It's got a really pretty... I was trying really hard to think of a color. Purple lavender.
It kind of looks like a huckleberry swirl ice cream. It does. That makes sense. We're gonna
go with a huckleberry swirl. So if you see huckleberry swirl in the description when we
list this, that's why. This was $3.99 and it is artist signed. Very pretty. The best find from
Goodwill however was this Tasco sterling cup. This was at the front jewelry counter. I saw it
immediately and I could tell it was sterling but I couldn't believe it. They only had $14.99 on it
and I don't know if they had missed the stamp because it's clearly marked as sterling. It's
got a green glass stone sent into it. Easily an $80 to an over $100 cup for $14.99. Look at this
portrait. It's kind of fading off screen there a little bit. He didn't want to sit still. $99. That's funny.
We struck out at the Humane Society. That place is always hit and miss. Usually it's a miss
honestly but every once in a while we find something really cool in there. Once you find
something good at a thrift store you really never forget it and I still think about my $2.99
striped purse that I found there and every time I have to stop in there even though we don't
usually find stuff. It's right there on 97th. Kind of the strip where you're gonna get all the
thrift stores in Bend so like you always just pop in. It's not out of the way. You gotta stop in.
I thought you were going for the baker dish thing. Oh for this? No I knew this was probably gonna be a flower.
I like wavy organic freeform bowls but not when they're too much of a flower. I wanted to look
like a flower without saying I'm a flower. Exactly. Exactly. See not subtle wavy.
These are cute design. They're newer. $0.99. This would be pretty on an outdoor table at night.
Made in 1950 by Ethel and it's titled Bugs. Bugs. How cute. Okay this looks like something I would
have made. I used to paint orcas on everything. It's the Greek dolphin duh. Oh just Greek dolphins
are terrifying actually. They definitely do. It's the teeth. Do we need any of these for the garage
or do you like the stools that turn? No I have a stool. There's not enough room for more. Plus I
don't want anyone out there with me. Just kidding. The garage is your sacred space. I get it. I'm
Those are pretty little toms. Little sugar toms. Oh there's a francoma pot that matches us.
Need a bird's nest? I got a few in the yard already. This is neat. It's a Pendleton sample
piece. It's got fish on it. It's $1.50. Well that's cool. They're the Chinook salmon series.
Be nice to meet into a pillow. Struck out at the estate sale. I almost bought that Pendleton.
Remember Laura that place was not a thrift store. She had $1.50 marked on it and so I thought that
was the price. Apparently it was three dollars which actually isn't that much more and it isn't
a bad price at all and I was absolutely willing to pay that. She wasn't very nice so I decided
not to buy it. Yeah we support nice people. They got all kinds of things today. What's today? Friday
so 25% off clothes. Wow don't even know what day of the week it is. 25% off green tags. I am not
sure why I actually like this set. It looks like it'd look really good in a villa in Italy.
That's hilarious. A whale of a bank. What bank? Did they add that? The eye? Is it original? I don't know.
Look how big this place is. I can't believe we've never been here before. So they kind of separate
their antiques from the regular thrift priced items but you never know you might find something
over here. Some pretty Japanese lusterware. Eight each. For some reason we've never been
to that Possibilities thrift store and I'm sure it's been there this whole time. I don't know
maybe it's like just been not open at certain times that we've been there. Maybe. I don't remember it
though. Right. It's really weird because we've gone right past it so many times. We didn't end
up finding anything in there but I'm still glad that we stopped in and there is huge potential
in there. You could just see turning that corner and there being a patosi on the shelf right there.
So we might have struck out at the thrift stores but we have some antique stores in town that we
love so we're gonna go stop at a few of those. It's cast iron I think. Yeah it's two pieces
seamed together. Interesting. This place is awesome. It's very primitive. We're liking it
right now. There's a lot of potential here. Look how good that cabinet is. See we like when things
look very old. Like this? Not damaged. That's called age to perfection. Termite core. Seriously.
That might need to become a thing and I love the little boxes and then does this close up top? No
but I wonder what you could put back there. I was wondering if there'd be one here. I like the mirror.
175 circa 1900. It looks like wheel spokes a little bit to me but kind of a combination of
almost like an east lake look. Looks like a steering wheel on a boat. Kind of. I mean except
the things wouldn't stick out towards you. I actually think in the right setting that could
be such a cool statement mirror and for being an antique 175 is not bad at all. Here's another one.
Look at this one. You could have one one on your side of the bed and one on my side of the bed.
Are you supposed to hang stuff from it? I don't think so. I mean you could. I mean what's the
function of those things? I have no idea but you could hang necklaces if you're a girl.
I could hang necklaces for me. That could look really cool. Or like neckties or something. Oh
it's a hat rack. That makes so much more sense. Now I do want this one. No. I need a hat rack in my room.
These would be fun camping mugs. $20 for the set. Oh my gosh. You know that restaurant kit that I
just got? Yeah. I think this it goes with it. Once I pulled it all out I started looking at it and go
I think I just bought like a 1985 restaurant starter pack. I think you might have. $1,170.
It's an outdoor two-sided clock. It looks like it came from like an A&W or something. It says it
keeps good time. Yeah. Well when you open your restaurant we can come back for it.
$474. 1950s. Oh she's pretty. I actually don't like it mixed with this base. It has more of an
Asian style base. I don't know if that's original. Maybe it's not actually a Betosian. It's a copy.
This is gorgeous too. Holy cow. I love their little boomerang tags. Aren't those cute?
Lamp says the base is made in Italy so there must be a mark underneath it. Yeah. That's a
really cool lamp too. Yeah. Very cool. And then I like this too. Something I would never need.
A Viking X. Oh yeah. What is that? Isn't that dope? I don't know why I just said dope. Sometimes I
say weird things. Isn't that dope? These are great. This is great. Such great stuff. I really
like these. $274 for the pair. That one. Oh my gosh. Should I travel with this hat box? I could
put all my hats in that and walk through the airport. How cute would that be? Would you be
embarrassed? I wouldn't be embarrassed but I think you'd be disappointed when they only let you bring
one little thing to carry on now. That's true. What's funny is that my wider brim hats probably
wouldn't fit in there but I could sure stack a lot of hats on there. It'd be better than
wearing five hats on my head like I've done before in an airport. I like this horse. It's $18. It's
by itself. Don't you think this would look cool in a gallery wall by itself? Even just hanging on
a wall anywhere. I like it. Cowboy Jesse. Now we can get our matching hat racks mirrors. That's
funny. Why do I like this? He looks like he's saying I don't know I didn't do it. It wasn't me.
$22. Is it for a men's restroom? I have no idea. That's incredible. It's an old tramp art box from
1900. How much does it say it is? $149. Pretty amazing. Pretty unique.
Now we're headed just across the street to another antique mall. This is actually one
we've been to a few times in the past and we've done really well here. That looks like where you
get a lobotomy on that thing. What does it say? Oh for what? Operating. That says operating? I don't
know. I'm just guessing. Anyways that does not look like something I'd ever want to be put on.
It's like a torture chamber. Okay I need your help. I'm very interested in this sandcast
necklace here and I think it says it's $390 but there's two necklaces. See how there's this other
one with the turquoise stone? Can you follow the loop and figure out if the tag is indeed attached
to the sandcast one right here at the nausea? Yeah because that tag is actually attached to
that bracelet right there and the other one is for that. So there's only one tag for two necklaces.
It is the $390 Navajo nausea bench bead. Yes. Necklace. That's a really good price. That's
probably six or seven hundred. Sweet. I might get that. Oh and that ring. Oh. The white and blue one?
Oh yeah. Do any of you remember when I found this in I believe it was actually a Goodwill or a
thrift store but these little people had crowns on their heads and I said I think it's a camel
with three kids. That's kind of cute. Are those kids riding the camel? What's going on here? I've
had one of these before and sold it as a candle holder because it fit a candle perfectly in it.
I had no idea it was originally made with little kids. One of your finer moments. One of my finest
moments I've ever had on YouTube. Really Laura. I just want to acknowledge the thousand of you
who helped me out by saying obviously it was you know the three kings. Nativity set.
Jesse just asked me if that was cool. It sure is. Can you validate? It sure is. Let me see the
bottom. I want to see if it's newer. No it's definitely older. It's like American does that
say? I actually get that. Faircraft. I'm not gonna get it because I don't think it has much margins
at 24 but it's a beautiful box. This vendor has so many amazing wool coats, wool blankets,
I'm not even kidding, flannels, horse sweater. That has all the little patches on it like the
fishing patches. I feel like you could only wear that if you were a fisherman. That's not true. You
can just pretend you're a fisherman. That's like wearing a band tee and you don't know who the band
is or you don't know a song by the band. Okay all right you got it. Now that you use that reference
I'm not getting it. Yeah I know. I have a thing for old school sweaters. I have one that has a P
for Portland. Well it's actually not for Portland. I say it's for Portland and it says Susan on it.
I love it. I'm desperately looking for one of these horse sweaters that will fit me but they're
all really really small. Someday it'll happen. Look at how cute that one is with the little deer.
Look how old these little baby robes are. Oh my gosh. So precious. They probably disintegrate if
you put them on a kid though. Those are display only. Here's some more amazing sweaters. Those
might fit. Wow. Uh-oh. They're in a case which is double uh-oh. It's double uh-oh if they're in a case.
Oh do I ask? I mean I have to. I gotta at least ask. Look at that shirt. That's sweet. Oh my gosh.
All of that's hand stitched on there. Amazing. This is all the same vendor that we were just
looking in their case. They have some of the most amazing inventory I've ever seen. I mean I don't
really do vintage Levi's but that's an amazing stock of vintage Levi's, Carhartts. Look at all
of these fringe jackets. Wow. Pretty incredible huh? It's crazy. I would love to sit down and
chat with this person. Hear some stories. I'm sure they've got good stories. Maybe I could find
my silk Japanese jacket Jesse. This is a bowling shirt right? Yeah. But what if they have my silk
on with the tiger? Look I could represent funeral homes. How funny. We're joking about going bowling
and not actually being on a bowling team but what if we had bowling team shirts? That'd be funny.
Look there's even little kid sweaters. Oh so cute. Those would probably be pretty itchy.
I broke my horse. I'm so sad. I picked it up to hand it to the lady to check out and I picked it
up by the leg only and it split. Just snapped right off. I don't want to have to put him down.
I know what happens to horses with broken legs. I do think it'll be easy to glue back on but it's
kind of a bummer because I wanted to resell it and now I definitely have to you know disclose that it
once had a broken leg. It's still a really cool horse. I promise I'll do a really good job gluing
that back on so if you're interested I will have this coming to the shop soon. I got this stunning
azurite ring. It's so beautiful. I'm gonna wear this one for a little bit before I put it in the
online shop for you to have. Sometimes I have to enjoy things just for a little bit first. The
perks of being a vintage reseller I say. Look at this beautiful tapestry. It's got a pretty color
palette. I like that this has brown in it. It's not something you see that often. It could be used
to just frame as a piece of art, put it as a wall hanging, or you could actually make a pillow out
of it because it's a nice square shape. Then I got this necklace. I did pay up for this. It was $390.
I think it was absolutely worth it. The nausea is sandcast Navajo. It's beautiful and all of the
beads are handmade bench beads. They are really lightweight which is kind of nice even though
technically heavier sterling means higher value. Not all of us want to wear heavy things all the
time. Sometimes having something nice and lightweight is great. I think it's worth six to
seven hundred so several hundred dollars profit margins on this beauty. I also got this beautiful
old wooden box. This was only $30 and I think that this is quite old. I'm pretty sure it's made in
India but I think that it's all completely hand carved. First store right there. Do you want to go there?
Yes we're going. All right we're now in Madras. Totally different city. And we weren't planning
to stop. We were kind of on our way home but I just saw a thrift store so we're gonna flip in
there real quick. Sounds great. I named them all too. All right start with this one Jesse. Jefferson,
Three Finger Jack, Black Butte, Mount Washington, North Sister, Middle Sister, South Sister, Broken Top,
Bachelor. Nice. I think. Would you ever allow that to be our water container for our parties and stuff?
Would I allow? You're acting like I don't allow. Well I just know it's not the cutest. I think of
Gatorade and football when I see it but also some of my track days. Then we don't even look at we
don't even have to write a science. But doesn't that have microplastics now and we know this?
Maybe. I don't know. Is it BPA free? I don't know. Probably not. Might need to do a little research. All right.
So yeah I guess that's a no. I take that as a no. Look at this little folk art thing. That's kind of adorable.
Oh my gosh it's a potty. What? Is it a potty? Yeah it's like an old potty. I think it's a potty.
I mean not for reals. No no no. That's where a sink would go. This is like a vanity thing.
You wouldn't like potty into a drawer. You wouldn't. You're right but I can't get that out of
my head now that I've seen it. It's a doll potty. Exactly. See I don't know about that. Is that what you think?
Look at this beauty. 2017. It's $19.99 though but it's beautiful. Two of 19. It's got really cool
texture on it. Yeah. Oh it's all chipped up on the lid though. Look at that. I'm so excited right now
because I was like my god everything is telling me this was not made in 2017. Breaking developments.
And then he was like what if it's a six? Breaking news. It is a six. It's 2617. It's the number that
they put on it. It's signed. It is $20 but it doesn't have any chips that I've seen. It's
beautiful. Feel like it's... I'm not gonna say it. I'm just not gonna say it. I'm gonna do my research.
Oh look at the inside. Yeah that is nice. Can you tell the inside is... The glaze on it. The hand
painting. It's really good quality. This could be... Wait we're not gonna say it. We're not gonna say it.
But it could be. It could be a... Oh no way. We were just talking about that. Look how good that is.
No. You know what's weird? It's like wherever you go the eyes are looking right at you. And we just
heard a crash. Oh. We didn't do that. No. I think there's a ghost back here. But I heard it fall earlier.
I'm out of here. Look at that baby on the floor back there. That's the haunted item.
No I'm out of here. That looks haunted. I think this is haunted.
Not to be dramatic but that was for sure haunted. Yeah it was creepy. That was giving creepy vibes
in there. Yeah no it was creepy. That doll was creepy. Maybe I would have bought it but also
there's no way I'm bringing that in the house. I wouldn't let it in the house. I would not let that
thing in the house. And the guy that worked there I went and told him stuff was shattered everywhere.
We didn't want someone to slip on it or get hurt. And I said I think it's haunted back there. You
know what he says? He goes oh for sure it's haunted. I'm like what? I'm not expecting that reaction.
And he's like oh yeah the other day I went back there and basketball was just like bouncing down
there. What what? Yes you didn't hear that part? Like that was before he came around the corner.
Yeah. And then he said it was an old lush swab and he thinks somebody got like crushed by a car back
there and so now it's haunted. We're just gonna keep going. We're gonna get back on the road right
now. We're gonna go home. Come see the Haunted Thrift Store in Madras, Oregon. Yeah. I'm not
100% sure but I am pretty confident that this is out of Denmark. It's probably from the 1960s or
early 70s. And if you are familiar with those markings or this pattern please let me know.
Everything in my gut is telling me it is pottery out of Denmark but I'm not 100% sure yet.
Thank you so much for hanging out with us today. We hope you had fun picking with us in our two
separate adventures and we will see you in a brand new episode here very soon.
Ah it just smells like old wood. Our luck's gonna turn. We've we've never come we've never
come out we've never come out empty-handed I think in these or these.
You got cursed by the baby. You got cursed by that little baby and now you can't talk.
Could you imagine having that little doll in the house and then like you just hear in the
middle of the night that thing just go off. Please tell me you didn't secretly put it in
the back. I did not. Okay please tell me because you're scaring me right now.
