Hello friends. Hello everyone. Welcome to Circle Time. I'm so happy you're here today. Oh my
friends we have so much to do. It's a very special day but first I need to
find my pointer. My Circle Time pointer. So we can review our Circle Time board
and I of course need your help. So if you have a pointer you can take it out. If
you want to use your pointer finger you can use your pointer finger. Okay now
let's start by finding out what day it is today. What day is it today? Will you
sing the days of the week? Wonderful. Get ready. Get ready. Here we go. Here we go.
Here's, Sunday and it's Monday. This Tuesday and it's Wednesday. This Thursday and it's Friday and then it's Saturday. Days of the week.
Days of the week!
One more time!
There's Sunday and there's Monday
There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday
There's Thursday and there's Friday
And then there's Saturday
Days of the week!
Now, let's find out what day it is today.
Let's go back to our board.
Yesterday was Tuesday.
Let's go to the next day.
Do-do-do-do-do!
Today is Wednesday!
Wednesday. Can you say Wednesday?
Wednesday!
Today is Wednesday.
Today is Wednesday all day long.
Yes!
Today is Wednesday.
Today is Wednesday all day long.
Yes!
Today is Wednesday.
Let's put it on the board.
I have the special play.
Tap, tap, tap.
Now we can read it together.
Will you help me read?
I'll point, you help me read.
Here we go.
Today is Wednesday.
Oh, let's read it one more time.
Here we go.
Today is Wednesday.
Today is Wednesday and it's a very special day.
Here in the Circle Time classroom,
on Wednesday, we do a craft.
A very special craft.
But we won't do it until the end of class.
So let's finish everything we have to do
on our Circle Time board.
Here we go.
Oh, well my friends,
it's Wednesday and we need to know
what's the weather?
What's the weather?
What's the weather out today?
Is it sunny? Is it cloudy?
Is it rainy out today?
Oh my friends, what's the weather where you live?
You may have to go look out your window
and then come back and tell me what you see.
I'll give you some time.
Hello, are you back?
Oh great, what did you see?
What's the weather where you live?
Oh, oh.
Oh, well thank you for sharing
what the weather is where you live.
Oh, I would like to find out what the weather is here,
where our Circle Time classroom is.
Okay, let's use our imagination
and Bear Bear can go with us
over to the imaginary window.
What do you think?
Good idea?
Okay, before we go, let's move Bear Bear to Wednesday.
Let's look at our board.
Yesterday was Tuesday.
Today is Wednesday.
What day?
Wednesday.
Okay, Bear Bear, time to come over to Wednesday.
Tap, tap.
Bear Bear is here.
Okay, we'll be right back.
Let's go over to our imaginary window.
Here we go, come on.
Let's go over to the window.
Oh, our imaginary window.
Oh, who is that over there?
Who's outside?
Hi, Bear Bear.
Hi, friends.
Oh, my friends, look outside.
Bear Bear, what is the weather, friends?
What do you see?
Is it a snowy day out today?
Oh, no.
It's not snowing out today.
Oh, let's look again, let's look again.
Oh, is it a rainy day out today?
Oh, no.
It's not a rainy day.
Oh, I see the sun.
But the clouds are blocking the sun.
Is it a partly cloudy day out today?
Yay!
It's a partly cloudy day, it is.
Oh, my friends, let's go and find a partly cloudy day picture.
Will you help me?
Yay!
Okay, let's find a partly cloudy day picture.
Let's see what I have here.
Oh, oh, I think this may be it.
What do you think?
Yay!
Partly cloudy day, that's right.
It certainly is.
Oh, let's put it on the board.
Partly cloudy day today, tap, tap, tap.
Oh, and that partly cloudy day, it's still a little warm,
although it's partly cloudy, it's still warm.
How about we help Bear Bear get ready for the partly cloudy day?
Will you help?
Great, here we go.
Okay, Bear, let's see.
We'll start with your shoes first.
Oh, Bear Bear, hmm, you have, oh,
it looks like you only have two pairs of shoes to choose from.
Hmm, blue or green, what do you think?
How, oh, oh, wait, wait, blue.
Bear Bear prefers blue today.
Can you point to the blue shoes?
Okay, hold on, Bear Bear.
Blue, please.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, blue.
If you pointed to this one, you're correct.
Blue it is.
Okay, let's keep going, everyone.
Oh, oh, wait, oh, okay.
Bear Bear would like blue pants to match his blue shoes.
Can you point to the blue pants, please?
Do, do, do, do, do, do, blue.
If you pointed to blue, you're correct.
These are the blue pants, or jeans, actually, Bear Bear's jeans.
Okay, and now Bear would like to wear a red shirt today.
Okay, Bear, a red shirt.
Do, do, do, do.
Can you point to the red shirt?
Do, do, do, do, do.
Red, if you pointed to this one, you're correct.
Red.
Oh, and it's a partly cloudy day, so no cap today,
but Bear would like to bring some books,
so he can use his backpack, his blue backpack.
Here you are, Bear Bear.
Oh, my friends, thank you for helping.
You're such great helpers.
Bear Bear is ready for the partly cloudy day.
Okay, let's keep on going.
Bye, Bear Bear.
We'll see Bear Bear tomorrow.
Now it's time to go over to our Letter of the Week.
Letter of the Week.
Who remembers?
What the Letter of the Week is?
Who remembers?
What the Letter of the Week is?
Do you remember?
It makes the sound wuh, wuh, like water.
Wuh.
Well.
Wuh.
Walrus.
Wuh.
Walrus.
What letter do you remember?
Oh, here it comes.
When you see it, you can say it aloud.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
What letter?
W.
Letter W.
Every letter makes the sound and W says wuh, wuh, wuh.
That's right.
For water, wuh.
Well, wuh.
Walrus.
Good job.
Now my friends, really quickly.
Take out your pointer fingers.
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
Okay.
And can you point to the uppercase W?
Which one is uppercase W?
Can you point?
Oh.
And now, can you point to lowercase W?
Lowercase W, which one?
Uppercase W.
Lowercase W.
You did it.
Let's put it on the board.
Tap, tap, tap.
Letter W is our Letter of the Week.
W.
Now, let's keep on going to the other side of our board.
Oh, look at this.
Shape of the Week.
Oh, what's that Shape of the Week?
Remember, it has four sides.
Oh, and you know what?
I remember us talking about a waffle yesterday.
It looks like a square.
Some waffles are shaped like a square.
Have you thought of anything else that's shaped like a square?
You can shout it out at home.
Oh, my friends, if you find things that are shaped like a square,
make sure you take some pictures and share, share, share.
Families, if you share on social media, you can tag me.
Please share your square objects that you find around your home.
The square is our Shape of the Week.
And who remembers how many sides does the square have?
How many sides?
You remember?
One, two, three, four.
Four sides.
Let's count them together.
You can take out your pointer fingers and help me count.
Let's count the four sides.
Here we go.
Start at the top.
One, two, three, four.
Four sides.
One more time.
This time, let's go across.
One, two, three, four.
Four sides on the square.
Good job.
Okay, my friends.
Now, we have one more thing to cover.
Let's go over to our number of the week.
Number of the week.
Oh, remember this number of the week?
Oh, I have it right here.
Hold on.
I'm going to show you.
You tell me the number.
Here it is.
Five.
That's right.
Let's count five fingers.
Here we go.
One, two, three, four, five.
You did it.
Five is our number of the week.
Number five.
And number five, you start at the top.
When you're writing it, it goes across.
Down and around.
Let's give it a try in the air.
Get out your crayons.
Let's pretend we have a crayon on.
I'm going to use yellow today.
What color crayon are you going to use?
Let's draw or write the number five.
Are you ready?
Here we go.
Across.
Down.
And around.
Good job.
Number five.
Let's put it on the board.
Tap, tap, tap.
You did it again.
You completed the entire circle time board.
Look at this.
You helped me with all of this.
Today is a very special day.
It is craft Wednesday.
Because it is craft Wednesday,
we are going to do a very special craft.
We are going to make something
that starts with the letter W.
Wagon.
We are going to make a wagon.
Have you ever seen a wagon before?
You can sit in a wagon
and someone can pull you.
You can put toys in the wagon.
Lots of different objects in a wagon.
You can pull it along by the handle.
A wagon has wheels.
When you pull it, the wheels will move
and the wagon will move.
Today we are going to make a wagon.
It starts with the letter W.
Wagon.
Can you say that with me?
Say the sound first and then the name wagon.
Here we go.
Wagon.
One more time.
Wagon.
You did it.
Let's go over to our art area of the classroom.
Come on, let's go together.
We are going over here.
This is our art area.
This is where we will make all of our crafts.
Today's craft is...
Here it is.
I have it.
The wagon.
Here is our handle and the wheels.
The wheels, not the whale.
The wheels down below.
When you pull it,
it moves along.
What's inside of our wagon?
Letter W.
That's right.
I'm going to show you all the things you need
so you can make a wagon at home.
If you don't have all of the things, it's okay.
You use what you have.
You use what you have to make the wagon.
Alright, my friends.
Let's get ready to make our wagon.
Now it's time to make our craft.
We're going to make it here on this side of the easel.
I had to turn it around.
Remember, this is what the wagon looks like.
Let me show you what we will need.
First, you'll cut out a letter W.
Actually, I used paper
that has two different colors on the side.
Cut out a letter W.
Uppercase, lowercase, whatever you choose.
You'll need a medium-sized rectangle.
This will be our wagon.
The part that we put things in.
You'll need a handle for your wagon.
A smaller, skinnier rectangle.
Use the colors that you like.
I'm using red and black.
Lots of wagons are red.
You'll need two circles like this.
Two medium-sized circles that are black
or whatever size or color you choose.
And then two smaller circles.
I'm using white and that will be for our wheels.
Of course, you'll need scissors
so you can cut all of your pieces out.
You'll need scissors
and you'll also need some glue.
You'll need some glue
so you can glue the pieces together.
That's what I'm going to show you how to do.
Let's do this together, my friends.
First, let's start with the large rectangle.
I'm going to put my pieces here
that I don't need right away.
Take a large rectangle
or it's a medium-sized, really.
I'm going to use some tape
so I can put it on the easel
so you can see it.
You start with your rectangle.
Tap, tap, tap.
Our rectangle first.
Then, let's put on the wheels.
Let's put on the wheels.
Let's go ahead and put on the wheels.
I need to get my little bowl out here.
This is where I like to keep
all of my materials
in the little bowl
as long as they fit.
I'm going to use glue.
I'll use a glue stick.
Glue sticks are really easy to use.
I'm going to use a glue stick
to put on my wheels.
First, remember,
we have two sizes for the wheels.
The large circle
and the smaller circle.
First, I'm going to put a little glue
on the smaller circle
and then put it right in the middle
of the larger circle.
Tap, tap, tap, right in the middle.
Tap, tap, tap.
Here's one.
I'm going to do the same thing
for the other one.
Put a little glue.
Round and around and around we go.
Tap, tap, tap, right in the middle.
Now, we can put them
right onto the wagon.
At the top, turn around the wheel
and at the top, you put a little glue.
Just round and around.
Then, go ahead and put it right here
at the bottom of your wagon.
Tap, tap, tap.
You decide where you want the wheel to go.
A little more glue at the top
again.
Tap, tap, tap.
My wheels are on.
Now, I'll need my letter W
and my handle. Let's put on the handle next.
I need the handle.
Remember, you need a
skinnier rectangle
for the handle.
That's what someone will pull when they're pulling the wagon.
I'm going to put a little glue
at the tip right here and then just stick
the handle on right here.
You can put it down. You can put it up.
It's up to you.
I'm going to put my handle just like that.
Like it's hanging down.
This handle, I did the accordion style.
You can fold it over if you want.
You can do different designs.
You can fold it up one time if you want.
Whatever you like.
The last thing for your wagon
is the letter W.
I think I may have to bring this down a little bit more
so my W will fit.
My W is pretty, pretty large.
Let's see. I'm going to move my tape down a little bit
because this W
is kind of large.
Let's see if it fits.
Here's my W.
I'm going to put some glue on the back of the W
at the top.
Actually, not at the top.
At the bottom. On the bottom of the W,
my friends, so we can sit
right on the wagon.
We pretend it's right
inside of our wagon.
There we have it.
Our letter W wagon.
W wagon.
Wagon starts with W.
We did it.
What do you think?
I hope you try it at home.
If you do, share, share, share your pictures.
Alright, my friends.
Now that we did our craft, it's time for our
circle time song.
Here we go.
Now it's time for our circle time song.
Today we're going to sing
the five little ducks.
Since our number of the week is
five, I thought this would be a fun
song to sing.
We're going to pretend that our fingers
are our ducks.
Can you hold up five fingers?
Five.
Okay, my friends. Get ready.
Now make sure you listen
to the words because our ducks
are going to go out one day over the hill.
They're going to go far away.
So listen to the words.
Get ready.
Here we go.
Five.
Five ducks.
Get ready.
Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack.
Five little ducks went out
one day over
the hill and far away.
Mother duck said
quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only four little
ducks came back.
One, two,
three,
four.
Four little ducks
went out one day
over the hill and
far away.
Mother duck said quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only ducks
came back.
One, two,
three.
Three little ducks went
out one day
over the hill and far
away. Mother duck
said quack, quack, quack, quack.
But only two little
ducks came back.
One, two.
Two little
ducks went out one
day over the hill
and far away.
Mother duck said quack,
quack, quack, quack.
But only one, one
one day over
the hill and far away.
Mother duck said quack, quack,
quack, quack. But none
of the five little ducks came
back.
Said mother duck
went out one day
over the hill
and far away.
Mother duck said quack, quack,
quack, quack. And all
the five little ducks came
back. Five little
ducks went out one day
over the hill and
far away. Mother
duck said quack, quack, quack,
quack. And all of the
five little ducks came back.
All of
the five little ducks came back. Yay!
I love when they
come back. Okay, my friends.
We did it again. What a busy
day we had today. Thank you
for helping me with our circle
time board. And we even did a craft
today. So fun.
My friends, it's time for us to say goodbye.
But I will see you all tomorrow.
Bye, friends.
Yay!
Quack, quack, quack.
Five little ducks went
out one day...
