Welcome to J House - an imperfect family working together towards a happy home filled with love and meaningful connections. We focus on learning, serving, and playing together as a family. We (Jeremy and Kendra) have 5 little kids: Isaac, Elise, Caleb, Laura, and Janae.
Our original vlog channel: J House Vlogs https://youtube.com/jhousevlogs documents our family life. J House jr. takes highlights of our favorite memories and makes them more entertaining for kids! Expect to see a lot of kids playing, laughing, and learning together! We also make original videos here that we think are perfect for kids!

Oh my gosh, they're so cute.
Welcome to school.
This is preschool at it's finest.
Totally.
Elf Junior.
Today is our first day of school and we're homeschooling.
Going into first grade.
Are you excited?
Just a little bit or a lot?
What do you think you're gonna learn in first grade?
Definitely more reading, more math, definitely science.
Caleb's in third grade this year.
I cannot believe how old you are.
What are you most excited to learn about in third grade?
Multiplication.
Janae, are you in preschool this year?
I'm in kindergarten.
Oh, you're in kindergarten?
Oh, I think you might be in preschool.
No, no, no, I'm in kindergarten.
Okay, how old are you?
You're playing a joke on me.
I think this year is preschool
and then when you get a little bit older,
we'll do kindergarten.
No.
All right, what grade are you in this year?
Fifth grade.
Awesome, you are getting so grown up.
What are you most excited to learn about in fifth grade?
Everything.
All right, what are you excited about for cabin school?
I think the hands-on activities
because we haven't done that for a while
but also you give us some reading lists
so that's gonna be fun for sure.
Are you excited about the books?
Yeah.
What are you gonna learn in preschool?
Learn how to say the letter G.
Ooh, the letter G.
Mm-hmm, write it.
You're gonna learn how to write it, too?
Uh-huh.
Anything else you're gonna learn in preschool?
Take puppies on walks.
You're gonna learn how to take puppies on walks?
Yeah, but tiny puppies, not big puppies.
Big puppies just eat me.
Oh, they eat you?
Big puppies.
Uh-oh.
I like small puppies.
What else, what are we gonna do in school?
Be nice.
Whoa, this is cool.
Whoa!
It is a lot of books.
What is this?
We're gonna learn all about owls.
A lot of things, great.
So our focus this fall is on national parks.
There's some games and a puzzle.
Some of them are right here.
There's the Grand Canyon Petrified Forest, guys.
Wait, top drums!
We saw it, the top drums.
You're gonna learn your colors and your shapes
and your numbers and your letters.
And then these are the books where you guys
are gonna learn about the artists and the composers.
Then we're gonna be learning about stars.
These are all the books that you can learn
about constellations and the stars.
And this, we're gonna be dissecting this.
Dissecting.
It means we're gonna take it apart
and see what we find inside of it.
Those are owl heads, yeah.
Owls.
Hey, over here we've got some finger paint.
Yeah!
Paint, inside are different colors of paint.
And these are a lot of books.
We're gonna read them, all of them.
All right, should we dive in?
Yeah!
Time for school, let's go sit down.
The Star by Jane Taylor.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
how I wonder what you are.
For you never shut your eye till the sun is in the sky.
Then the traveler in the dark
thanks you for your tiny spark.
He could not see which way to go
if you did not twinkle so.
So you guys recognize this poem?
Yes.
Yeah, song.
And so many of the song lyrics
that we listen to are actually poems.
So, do you guys like poems?
Yeah.
So to kick off our study of national parks,
we're gonna read this book.
It's called, Caleb, read the title.
The Camping Trip That Changed America.
It is about Theodore Roosevelt, John Moore,
and our national parks.
Look how beautiful these granite formations
are in the Yosemite Valley.
You guys wanna go there someday?
Part of every day's cabin school is piano practice.
Oh, wrong one.
That was Caleb's when he was a little boy.
Yeah.
Yeah, now you get to play with it.
J House out, let's go play.
