Welcome back to the Happiness Garden channel. After blooming, the orchid needs to be properly
restored to prepare for the next flowering season, and today I will share a natural fertilizer
formula that helps strengthen roots, thicken leaves, and build sustainable energy for the
new growth cycle. Let's begin together. After the flowers have completely faded,
this flower spike no longer serves to support the plant. Therefore, I will cut this flower spike
close to the base so the plant does not continue to waste energy. I continue to carefully check
the base and discover that the two lower leaves have also turned yellow and white fungus has
appeared. This is a sign that the plant is weakening after the blooming season, and the
humid environment may have created conditions for fungus to develop. Therefore, I will completely
remove the infected leaves to prevent spreading, and at the same time clean the base area before
continuing the next recovery steps. Next, I use rice to make a natural fertilizer for the orchid.
I put five tablespoons of rice into a clean jar, then add thoroughly washed and crushed eggshells
into it. This combination provides natural minerals, especially calcium from the eggshells,
helping the roots stay strong and the leaves become firm during the recovery period
after the blooming season. Mix with one liter of warm water to help the nutrients dissolve
and release more effectively. Then I seal it tightly and let the mixture steep for a few hours
so the nutrients are fully released before use. After a few hours of soaking, I take the mixture
out, strain out the residue, then add one liter of water to dilute it before using it for the orchid.

Step one, I use this mixture to wipe the leaves because this is not just a simple cleaning step.
When gently wiping the leaf surface, I remove dust, fungal spores, and the layer of salt residue
that accumulated after the flowering period, helping the leaf surface become more breathable.
This supports gas exchange and allows photosynthesis to occur more efficiently.
In addition, the natural minerals from the rice water and the calcium from the eggshells at a
diluted concentration can provide gentle micronutrients through the leaf surface.
This helps the leaves become thicker, stronger, and maintain their natural shine. Regular wiping
also helps detect early signs of pests or recurring fungus, allowing timely intervention while the
plant is recovering after the blooming season. Step two, I pour the diluted mixture into a spray
bottle and gently mist it over all the leaves. At a diluted concentration, they act as a gentle
nutrient source, supporting metabolic processes and helping the leaves maintain a stable green
color. In addition, misting also helps clean the leaf surface, improve photosynthesis, and enhance
gas exchange. When the leaves are healthy and functioning efficiently, the plant will accumulate
energy more quickly to support new root growth and prepare for the next growth cycle. Step three,
I pour the mixture directly onto the growing medium to provide nutrients to the root zone,
the area that determines the plant's ability to recover after the blooming season. As the mixture
soaks down, the micronutrients from the rice water and the calcium from the eggshells will directly
reach the root system. After watering, I place the plant in a well-ventilated area with gentle
light so the growing medium can dry naturally. Step four, I use a soft cloth to gently dry any
remaining mixture left on the leaves. I gently wipe to remove excess water, especially in the
leaf joints and near the crown, to prevent water from collecting and causing rot. Finally, I crush
the eggshells and sprinkle a thin layer over the surface of the growing medium. This layer of
eggshell will slowly decompose over time, adding natural calcium to the root zone and helping
improve the growing medium environment. After that, I place the plant in a spot with gentle sunlight
and good air circulation. After two months of caring for it with this mixture, the orchid has
clearly recovered. The leaves are dark green, thick, and glossy, with no more signs of yellowing
or fungal infection. In particular, a new flower spike has emerged from the leaf axil, a sign that
the plant has enough energy and is ready to enter the next blooming cycle. New roots have begun to
with fresh green, plump root tips firmly attaching to the growing medium.
