Hi guys! Hi everyone! Welcome to the Kids Report. Thank you so much for being here, for stopping by
and spending your time with me to learn about six amazing educational apps for kids that I use
every day. And how do I use these apps you ask? Well, I'm a teacher. I use these apps with my
students in the classroom. And I am so excited to share the benefits, the educational benefits
that these apps have hidden within. Get ready to go on an adventure with me, a Kids Report adventure.
And just so you know, when you are finished watching this video, please click that button
below and download the one sheet PDF. Let me show it to you really quickly. This is the one sheet
PDF of the Kids Report. I made it to make life easier for you guys. So after you finish watching
this video, you have a one sheet to refer to and it'll help you to remember the names of the apps
and then help you to find them when you log on online or or when you're actually trying to
download these from your phone or tablet. So this is educationally styled by me. And let me tell you
a little bit about myself so that you know you are getting the best from the best. I'm a children's
education stylist. My passion is helping parents of young children who create new ideas that will
enhance their child's lifestyle. I show them how to implement strategies and ideas that I use in
the classroom every day and style their child's education right at home. Simple, proven, and of
course fun strategies and ideas. I have been an early childhood special needs teacher for over
15 years. I'm actually in my 16th year of teaching here in the New York City area and I love what I
do. I love working with children, but most importantly my purpose here in life on this
earth is to enhance the lives of children and right now I do that through education and I can't
wait to work with some of you guys too. So let's get to the meat, the juice of this video which is
the kids report. Six amazing educational apps for kids and we are going to start with
Toka Boka. Actually it's Toka Life School which is from Toka Boka and I really love this company.
They always always have apps that are open-ended so children really get to control the story going
on in the app and that's what I love about Toka Boka's apps. So let's check out School Life and
let me tell you a little bit about it. So it's recommended for ages six to eight. Your kids can
get ready to create their own story based on school life. Kids are in control of every aspect
of this story from picking their favorite classmate, being a teacher, picking a locker, or just having
a school adventure in the cafeteria. There are no scripted scenarios and kids are really the
directors and the storytellers. Like any app I choose there are some great educational benefits
to playing this app. Children will build upon their storytelling skills as expressive language
skills and creative thinking skills. Great stuff right? Well you can download this app in the app
store and to find out more about this app and to watch the full trailer that you're taking a sneak
peek at you can visit tokaboka.com. Here's the look up here is the web address tokaboka.com.
Fun right? So make sure you check that out and we're going to jump around and go over to our
next app which is Toontastic by Launchpad Toys. Now Toontastic Junior excuse me
is actually the current version that's available in the app store but I'm going to tell you about
Toontastic the original and check out a little bit of their trailer while I tell you about them.
All right so Toontastic Junior is for ages four plus. It's created by Launchpad Toys.
It's a fun storytelling app that gives children full control over the story. Kids are encouraged
to draw, animate, and narrate their own story and they get to record all of it. It's like an
animated puppet show on your tablet or your phone. So if your kids love to tell stories, love to put
this is for them. Toontastic Junior was created for the younger learner to get in on the fun.
So the storytelling app is recommended like I said before for ages four plus and my students
love this app. I actually love this app okay. I have two versions of it. I have the older version
which is for children a little older maybe six or eight and then now Toontastic Junior
which I'm going to head over to the Toontastic Junior page so you can take a look at that.
It's actually their pirates version really cool and it this one's for the younger learners of
ages four plus. So here's a couple screenshots of the actual Toontastic Junior's app the pirate
version but one of the things I really love about Toontastic is that these apps teach children that
stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end and that is how they develop and create their story
in this app. Great stuff I'm telling you great stuff. All right let's move on to one of my
favorite educational companies when it comes to the tech world and that is Teagly. Teagly
and we're going to check out Teagly words first. So I'm going to play their trailer while I tell
you tell you a little bit about Teagly words. Now Teagly words is recommended for ages four
through eight created by Teagly and parents you must buy the interactive toy first. Okay we'll go
over that a little bit. Word building and storytelling come to life in this app. Kids are
in control of learning and creating. Kids create digital stories and bring learning to life. It
comes with five interactive vowel toys, three award-winning apps for free, and a carrying pouch.
You can focus on different skills for your child's age. So there are a host of skills they can learn
such as phonics, nouns and verbs, long and short vowels, problem solving, spelling patterns, memory
skills, and so much more. So you really want to get ready to open up a world of adventure and
learning when it comes to Teagly words. Really exciting and as you can see in their trailer
this app and the interactive toy that goes with it which I'm going to show you real quick. These
are what the interactive vowels look like. They're actually silicone. Let me go down here. Teagly toys
have silicone touch points so your tablet reacts to them just like your fingertips. Tap and the
screen reacts. Okay so these are the actual toys that it comes with the Teagly words and you have
the carrying pouch over here that you can put them in and carry them in. Perfect. Teagly is an
amazing company. Let's check out Teagly Math. It's recommended for ages three to seven. Created by
Teagly of course and parents again you must buy the interactive toy first. Kids learn best when
they can use all of their senses and Teagly Math combines tactile, audio, and visual interactions
all together. It's learning math and having fun all mixed up into one. This company combines
technology with hands-on play and I am all about the hands-on play. There are three Teagly Math apps
which are created or were created excuse me by educational professionals. So rest assured you
are getting the best. So Teagly is actually available on all generations of the iPad and the
iPad mini except iPad one and leading Android devices Samsung, Kindle, and the Curio and you can
head to their website to learn more about that here at teagly.com. All right let's move on. Let's get
into some science now and talk about this is my body. This is my body. I'm gonna play the trailer
while I tell you a little bit about this app. Another great app I have to turn the volume down
though guys sorry. So this is my body by Urban Pockets is recommended for ages six through eight.
Kids get to explore their body and understand the important aspects of the human body. This app was
created by a team of medical doctors, educators, and parents. This is a great app to use in conjunction
with another lesson. For instance if you're at home with your child and they're curious about
what happens to their food after they chew and they swallow well you can turn this into a lesson
this curiosity. So the app has a section that actually talks about the digestive system and
what happens once you swallow your food or your liquids what happens to it after that and the app
actually explains it and it has like a it's a cartoon video basically. It's so cute and it's
great it's entertaining and of course it's educational so it's perfect. I definitely suggest
you turning your child's curiosity into a lesson. Research maybe get a book on it you could go to
the library and get a book read about the digestive system and then open up the app explore and have
fun with learning. I really suggest that's how you do it. There are always great learning moments
happening at home so take advantage of them jump on them right away and find ways to even enhance
that learning through entertainment like this educational entertainment.
All right let's move on to our last app the sixth one which is Kids Planet Discovery.
We're moving on to social studies here guys. All right so kids get to take a virtual adventure
around planet earth. This app is loaded with games puzzles cultural videos and more. The concept of
the app is to show the aliens that landed on planet earth everything that makes our planet
special. Kids can visit different continents watch cultural videos which are videos of real people
and real events. One thing I want to tell you parents in order to really really enjoy the
full experience of this app you will have to make some in-app purchases okay. However they do offer
a lot for free on the app. All right but um yeah in order to get the full experience there are a
lot of things that I feel that are necessary to download and purchase but you can still explore
all of the free aspects first and see what you think see if you like it and if you want to go
further. Now if you decide to go further and you want to purchase all of the apps it's best to do
it by purchasing their bundle because you save about 50 percent and then in the end ultimately
the app turns out to be about $4.99 but it does offer a lot. It's not something your kid will
probably go through in one sitting but there's a lot of information and great educational benefits
to this app as well. So there you have it those are my six amazing educational apps that I'm
currently using in the classroom right now. Don't forget to click that button and download
the kids report one sheet pdf educationally styled by me. I love giving away free valuable
