HIGHLIGHTS! City beaten in Madrid | Real Madrid 3-0 Man City
Manchester City must fight back from three goals down following our 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid in our Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
Pep Guardiola’s side were left stunned by a first half hat-trick from Federico Valverde who scored his first goals in Europe this season.
The home side had a huge opportunity to extend their lead from the penalty spot in the second half but Gianluigi Donnarumma kept out Vinicius Junior’s effort.
Nico O’Reilly almost pulled a goal back late on but was denied by Thibaut Courtois’ instinctive save from close range to leave City with an uphill battle when we meet in the second leg at the Etihad on Tuesday, 17 March.

There's a scramble in the area, could have gone anywhere, goes back and oh Semenya it's on target.
Dunku, again he's got the better of, oh my goodness no one gets a touch.
That's a mistake and Bernardo Silva almost turned it in. Ball in and it's a good one and
Valverde's got beyond O'Reilly, he's got beyond Donnarumma and Real Madrid in front in the 20th
minute after City's bright start. Wonderful take by Valverde.
And this year's junior has taken a deflection, it reaches Valverde, two goals in seven minutes
and all of a sudden Real Madrid are in control of the time.
Brahim Diaz, oh that's a lovely ball and Valverde has got himself a hat-trick.
22 minutes and Valverde's incredible hat-trick puts Real Madrid in control.
Diaz, still Diaz, good save Donnarumma, brilliant tackle by Diaz.
Now then he's onside, Vinicius Junior, he's round Donnarumma, penalty.
Vinicius Junior can sink City, oh good save and Donnarumma's there for the rebound.
Could that be a turning point in the tie? Pitarch, O'Reilly, oh and another day that goes in
but it's not another day. Marmouche, oh it's saved by Courtois. City have got to have a mammoth night
next week.
