Miwa Harimoto vs Anna Hursey | WS R16 | #WTTChongqing 2026

Confident start from the Welsh Dragon and this time just pinpoint precision, fast counter then comes back her way to recover and it's another ball straight into the crossover. She wins a very very good point there to take the opener not done yet. Watching his daughter and his son constantly do battle and that backhand is her biggest weapon and it's the forehand that gets it done. Miwa Harimoto showing the class at the crucial moment. Star contender Chennai as well. It's just a wonderful forehand. You wait till the long ones come back out and that was better from Anna. Service game despite her young age. Seed here. And it's the fast serve. Game point again. What a serve. The short topspin kicker looks like it's backspin in those fast backhand exchanges. That's missing from Hersey's game but you can't blame her. It's a huge stage. Inside her left foot or into the body. And this long the crossover into that right hip of Miwa. That's another example of where Miwa is now. It's too strong. She's clever. Gives anything away. And it was a good serve receive but it went straight back. And it's the fast serve. The fast one that spears at you. That gets it done for the Japanese sensation. 13-11, 12-10, 11-7. Such a game challenge from the Welsh Jag and Anna Hersey.
