Hello sweet friends, welcome. Well, I ended up taking a little bit of a break from YouTube.
I didn't plan to. It just worked out that way. I haven't had really a lot to share.
I'm working on my kitchen, but it's still not finished. And then I have been working upstairs
in my sewing craft room. It's pretty much done and I may take you upstairs and we'll look around
and I'll show you what I did up there. I did a little bit in the guest bedroom, not a lot, but
I'm still needing to do behind that wall. So in today's video, I wanted to get on here and say
hello and apologize for being gone for almost a month, I think it has been. And I'm hoping
to have some more things to share. I need to pull out my Easter. I know I shared last year's Easter
like last month, but I haven't done anything so far this year. And I have some new pieces,
so I need to get going because it's almost Easter. So, which I can still leave my spring stuff out,
even though Easter is over. So anyway, today I'm going to show you a few things that I picked up
at South County Antique Mall in St. Louis. And Brett and I went, I think it was last weekend.
So I got a few things and I'm going to share with you. And then I'll take you upstairs
and we will take a look at what I did in the guest bedroom. And I may give you a little peek
of the kitchen. I'm not sure if I want to or not, or if I want to save it to when it's all done.
I am waiting on getting my backsplash up. I've got it bought. I just need to do it.
So anyway, the first thing I'll start with is this. She's not in that good of shape,
but I've been collecting these for quite a few years now, whenever I can find them cheap.
And I have been gifted some from a friend. And that's really what started the collection back
when I had my store. One of my vendors and a lady that I have known pretty much my entire life,
gifted me with one of these. And that sort of started the collection. So anyway,
I found her for $19. And her hair is not in very good shape, but she has her original clothes.
For any of you that might not know, this is a Tammy doll. And I'm definitely going to have
to wash her hair and try to give her a little bit of love in there. But that was a really good price
for her, because they are quite hard to find. The other thing I found, this was $11. And I don't
think I have any true old one of these. So it's this little bunny. And it's in pretty good shape.
I mean, yeah, it's dirty. And you can tell it's been well loved. But it's in really good shape.
I think I paid $11, which I thought was a really good price. Because they had some other ones in
their booth. And they were a lot higher. So I didn't understand why this one was only 11.
So I got that. And the other thing I got, I got this for my sewing room. It needs cleaned up.
But I thought it would look cute just like sitting on a shelf, especially since I have been doing
so much work up there. Now, I don't want to get your hopes up. It still don't look
the way that I want it to look, but it's looking better. So anyway, this is for doing hems,
and I guess like dresses and things like that. You would use that to measure and it sits on
the ground. This wasn't very much at all. I think it was like $6. So I thought that was a great price.
And then this, this was $3. And I wouldn't have got it if it wasn't so cheap. But
it's cardboard. And I thought it would look good just like as a little stacker underneath
other things. And see, I don't think it's supposed to do that. Or maybe it is.
But that front piece falls down. But for three bucks. I don't know. Am I too close?
So just in case I'm too close. My Tammy doll. My vintage bunny. And my
sewing room thing. It says something on the back there.
I don't know. I'll have to look and see what that says. So anyway, this was $3.
Oh, and these, these were six a piece. And they are the little tiny
butter molds. And what have I told you, every time I try to make a video,
he rings that bell. I've told you that before. Because he does. It's every time he gets jealous.
Because I'm talking to you and not paying attention to him. So and yeah, that one,
this one's more of the standard type you see. This was $6 also. So I want to show you the
difference between the two. These you see quite often, this style. But look at the difference.
So all right, I'm gonna have to take a break and go take Desi out. All right,
so I got my glasses on so I can see what this says. It says quick and even, non stoop,
sorry, non stoop, self skirt marker, patented. And then it just says Collins HW New York City
or NYC. So I don't know if you guys can see that or not. So that's kind of neat.
Anyway, I got that. I got this $3 box. And then I got these. These didn't come from South County.
These came from St. Clair, St. Clair Antique Mall. Candlewick scissors, you know,
putting candles out. I paid $15 for these. So got that. And then I don't even remember what was in
this. Oh, okay. This is for my sewing room also. It was a dollar. So let's see if we can get it
out of the sack. If not, I'll just show it. A little baggy. Yeah, there we go. So it's a little
homemade. I think it's old. If not, someone made it out of old materials. So for a buck.
That's going to go upstairs. And then I got this too. If I ever get around, I'm going to be working
hopefully on that half bathroom, trying to clean it up and make it look better.
It's getting a little out of hand where I have my laundry stuff. But anyway, this was $6.
And I think I have one of these in either blue or green. But I thought that was a good price.
And then, okay. Do you guys remember a couple of videos ago? I think it was. I showed you my daisy
stuff because I had gotten the grease jar. Well, I found the salt and pepper. And I haven't gotten
those out yet. This year is just crazy. But that is to add with my little small collection.
Oh, I thought that was what I paid for these. They weren't super cheap, like my version of cheap.
I think I paid $12. I would have rather paid $6. But I think I paid $12. And then I guess I'll
show you. Well, I'm not very excited to do this. So I got this one pitcher. And these kind of
pitchers, as you know, can be quite expensive. I saw all kinds with this kind of print on there.
They were like $50 and $60. This was $11. Seems like $11 was a big price for me.
And now the frame, I don't, maybe the frame's old. I don't know. But there's the print. And see,
I have that one other dog print that I got in Indiana last year. So this will probably go in
the guest bedroom somewhere with it. So for $11. Like I said, these type of, I don't know
what those are called. But it's like the coloring and they always seem to have a dog or a cat in
them. So I got that. And then this was $24. And it still has all its inside stuff for holding the
eggs. It needs cleaned. But it has a little bit of the label left. It has its lid. I did take it
apart and make sure it didn't have any creepy crawlies in it before bringing it in. But it's
got the little trays. So $24, I thought that was a good price. I have no idea what I'm going to do
with it. And then one other thing I got at South County. I'm thinking these were $15 maybe.
Right around there. They weren't very high at all. They were less than the box because I got the box
and these from the same booth. And I'm thinking these were $15. And it's old fireplace bellows.
So I want to figure out a way to hang that from my fireplace. And this is an old one. I used to
have one years ago, but it wasn't quite this old. So that was a really good price. Okay, I'm going
to take you down and take you upstairs and show you what progress I have made in my sewing craft
room. But before then, I want to show you something real quick. Now all of this, these two totes
filled to the brim. And then that bag's got stuff in it. And then I have the stack of stuff here.
And those, that all came out of my sewing room. You would have seen, I'm surprised I was able to
organize it enough that it's only this small amount. Because there was a massive amount
in there that I took out. So anyway, let's go upstairs.
All right, in case you didn't see it, I will try to add in a clip of what it looked like before
compared to what it looks like now. I will also try to look up the card and find out
what the color is that I painted the walls. Because it is not the same yellow that I used
in the kitchen. This is a different. And to be honest, if I would have used this yellow
on the cabinets, I may have liked it better. It's a really soft, but not, not pastel-y either.
I don't know how to describe it. But I tried to, I had a lot of stuff before just spread everywhere.
So I tried to clear out a bunch of stuff and organize it a little bit better.
I wish I had some more cabinets and things in here. But compared to what it did look like,
this looks so much better. So there's my small Tammy collection. And then this,
which I've shared before, this is my grandpa. He was in a, he was a coal miner and he was in
a Salvo ad. And then I have a box of Salvo. I used to have another box. I don't know where it went.
And this is a little bit behind the scenes of them shooting that ad commercial,
whatever it was. I don't know if it was a television commercial or if it was just a paper,
a magazine ad. I would have to check with my mom and aunt to see if they remember.
These are vintage Arnett, Raggedy Ann, and Andy. I bought them off of a vendor
back when I had my store. Okay, I'm gonna check the back of Andy because this one just says
Wooden Head Raggedy, Arnett's Country Store. But there's not a date. And it doesn't say exactly
who made them, but Alice told me, I don't know, but Alice told me it was made by Stacy's dad. I
don't know if that's true or not. All right, and he says the same thing, Wooden Head Raggedy,
Doll, Arnett Country Store. So I was hoping maybe it had a date, but she said
that it was from the 80s. And where I live, Arnett Country Store, which I don't think it's opened
anymore, but it's like three miles down the road, four miles. Over here I tried to organize a little
bit better. Okay, well that is what I've been working on up here, but I made a lot of progress
compared to what it did look like. Now I'll take you over into the
guest bedroom and show you what I've done in there.
All right, so I have put, I'm not liking this one up there, but I haven't hung my peg rack yet to
put the rest of them on. But I did put the black purses and the black hat and all that with my
coats. Maybe I'll have to take that one down so you can better get an idea. Yeah,
see how I like it like that? Because I still have this little stack of purses right here
that I need to hang on a peg rack. I just haven't decided where I want to put one.
So I also, as I've talked about many times, I'm going to change this wallpaper out
from behind the bed. I went ahead and hung, I'm not going to leave it here,
I went ahead and hung that other little dog picture up. I had a mirror there. I'm probably
going to end up putting it back, but this is the other one I was talking about,
child and the dog. I think both of those need moved. I'd like to move them over here
with the other pictures that I have and probably take down that mirror. That mirror is pretty,
it's just a Hobby Lobby mirror, I think is where I got it. And then I have that one straw hat
that I need to switch out. I want to take this boy's straw hat down and put that more
frilly one up. And right now, all I did was I set those little purses that don't have straps
right there. I don't think that's where they're staying. I just set them there for now. And I
stuck that little white purse with the little headband type hat over here. I need to take my
Raggedy Ann and Andes, I guess, back into my sewing room. I just left them because
the Americana and I was kind of pulling Americana in here. But I don't know when I added some,
it didn't look right when I went and pulled up like more Americana stuff and put it in here.
It would have looked great if I would have took away some of the other stuff. I don't know. I don't
know how to explain what I'm talking about. This is what I've been doing. And if you've been watching
for a while, you know that this room has come a long way, but it's still driving me crazy
because I can't get it to look the way that I want it to look. It feels like a hodgepodge room
and I don't want it to. I want it to have a flow to it. I'm sure I'll get it right eventually. It
just may take a few years. But it's come a long way. So I am grateful for that. And I've just
got to do better at pulling out things that even though I like them doesn't go with what I'm
wanting to do. I don't know. I'll get there eventually. I'm sure of it. I thank you all so
much for stopping by and I will see you soon.
