Hi, sweet friends! Today we’re decorating our living room for spring with cozy, simple touches that bring a fresh seasonal feel into our home. In this spring decorate with me, I’m sharing easy ways I like to transition our living room for the season using soft florals, layered pillows and textures and a few sweet spring accents.
Hi sweet friends! It's Amy and welcome back. Today we are decorating in our living room for spring.
I'll be sharing some spring decorating ideas that you can use to cozy up your home this season.
We'll be using some soft florals, some cozy textures, as well as adding in some new pieces
that will pull the whole look together. So I hope today you enjoy watching and find it helpful.
So without further ado let's go ahead and get to decorating.
Today I thought it would be fun to walk through a few simple ways I like to incorporate spring
into my decorating. The first thing I almost always start with is switching out the wall art
and a little decorating tip for you. To keep the frame hanging nice and straight I like to place
a small piece of Gorilla Tape on the back at the bottom. This prevents the frame from swinging or
shifting over time. Changing out just one piece can really shift the whole feel of the space.
This new artwork is actually what inspired the rest of the room for spring. I like to pull colors
from the artwork and repeat them throughout the space so that everything feels intentional and
cohesive. Now I do want to remind you that you don't have to go out and buy all new decor to
create a cozy home. Sometimes simply starting with a clean and tidy space can make the biggest
difference. Between deeper cleanings I like to do a quick refresh. I'll grab this little handheld
device called the Chom Chom to pick up any stray hairs from Nyla or little fuzzies that collect on
the couch. And another small habit that really does help is rotating your cushions every so often,
especially during these in-between seasons. It helps everything wear more evenly and keeps your
furniture looking the best. Our previous couch actually lasted us over 20 years and has now
been passed down to my daughter Elena. I believe those small habits like rotating cushions and
keeping things clean can really extend the life of your furniture and keep your home feeling cozy
and fresh. Moving on to another simple way to switch up the look of your home from season to
season is throw pillows. And you all know I definitely love my pillows. I've gathered several
here that I laid out on the coffee table so I can play around with the different combinations.
And here's a little trick if you ever need a pillow to look slightly smaller in a pinch.
You can cover a pillow insert that's the same size as the cover, which creates a more tailored,
slightly smaller look. Now one tip I like to use is mixing different pillow sizes throughout your
arrangement. I'll usually start with a larger 22-inch pillow in the back and then work down
to a 20-inch and then an 18-inch. Sometimes I'll even add a lumbar pillow for a little variety.
I like to use pillow covers with different textures and patterns. And for spring, I tend to
lean toward lighter fabrics and softer colors. But most of the time I personally love a fuller pillow
so I usually size up on the insert. For example, I might use a 22-inch insert inside a 20-inch
pillow cover. Now that I'm happy with the pillow placement, I'm going to go ahead and pop one over
to the other side of the room and pull up some simple TV wall art from YouTube to display here
on our TV. Then, once that is finished, I'll create a simple arrangement for the center of
our mantle. You have a different idea, don't you? Say we're trying to decorate. You would like to
play. Do you like the tray? What do you think? For the centerpiece, you may remember this wooden
bowl that I previously shared from Kirkland's. Inside the bowl, I'm going to drape this greenery,
separating it in the center and letting it fall naturally to each side. Then I'll arrange a few
tulips in the center, almost as if they've been planted and are just beginning to grow up through
the greenery. I think this is going to look so sweet on the mantle and it's such a simple way
to bring in that fresh spring feeling. Tulips are one of my favorites and I think they are such a
beautiful symbol of spring. I especially love white tulips because they fit so nicely with my
neutral color palette and cozy aesthetic. Year after year, these faux tulips from Amazon are
some of my favorites. After taking a little playtime break with Nyla, it's time to get back
to decorating this cozy seating area. I'm starting by adding this lightweight checkered throw blanket
along with a couple of pillows that coordinate with the ones on the sofas. Another way I like
to sprinkle in a little bit of spring is by incorporating sweet seasonal accents like nest
with eggs, little birds, or bunnies. They're such happy little touches that quietly bring in the
season without overwhelming the space. Repeating the same florals throughout the space is another
simple way to help everything feel calm and coordinated. So for the floral arrangement on
the coffee table, I'm using this cream vase and adding these longer stem tulips that I also found
on Amazon. I love how the taller stems give the arrangement a little bit of height while still
tying in beautifully with the tulips we used on the mantle. For the spring coffee table, I'm choosing
three books that all fit within the same color palette I'm using throughout the room. I'm
arranging one of them in a vertical position while the other two are in the horizontal to create a
little variety and visual interest. So to help fill in that space towards the front of the coffee table,
I'm adding this long gold tray. Then on top of each book, I'll place a few decorative
objects to give that arrangement a cozy casual layered look.
Lay our love before him with all of our faith. He is the change within us. There is a light.
Let him lead the way. Lift our hands up and pray today. Oh, everyone needs somebody to
care. If we come together as one, help each other get stronger. We are bound in the name of the Lord.
So let's come together, celebrate each other, stand united as one. Lift our hands up before him.
Let's come together. Yeah, let's come together.
All right, well, I'll add these last final few items to finish up this cabinet and I think it
turned out really nice. I've styled it with everyday staples and spring accents sprinkled
in throughout. Sometimes isn't it just nice to put on a little bit of music, step back
and play around with different pieces until everything feels just right. Now that the space
is styled, let's move over to the last couple areas we'll decorate together today. The end table and
the console table. For the top of the console table, I usually like to start with a few simple
elements like a vessel or vase filled with some type of seasonal floral or greenery, some books,
and sometimes an art print placed off to one side. That combination is such an easy way to create a
balanced and styled look. All right, friends, well, that wraps up today's video. I hope that
you enjoyed it and got some new ideas for decorating your homes for spring. If you did,
I appreciate a big thumbs up, maybe even a share over on your socials. And if you've watched to
the end and haven't already, I'd love if you would hit that subscribe button and join me back as we
continue to decorate our home for spring in my spring decorating series. Well, as always,
I'd love to end our time together by going to God's word. Today, I'll be reading from Numbers,
chapter 6, verses 24 through 26. The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine
upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace. Well,
I thank you all so much for joining me. I hope you have a fabulous rest of your day. Remember,
my whole entire spring decorating series will be linked here at the end so you can continue
watching and get more spring decorating ideas. Well, until next time, take care and God bless,
friends. Bye.
