Good morning guys. Welcome to today. Remember how it was spring? It's not spring now.
There's a lot of snow, not just a little. It's like the same amount as disappeared last week.
But yep, it's winter again. I saw somebody post that it was a hundred degrees where they live
and I was like, wow, imagine. Feel sorry for us. I don't know why we live here. It's crazy.
Everything is icy. Back to winter. We're making the trek down to the goat barn again in the snow.
In fact, we went down last night a couple of extra times because those new little babies,
Zoe's babies, I worry about them. It is in fact snowing right now but don't worry, by Tuesday
it should be disappearing again. That doesn't mean it's not going to come back but March
comes in like a lion. Hopefully it goes out like a lamb. Zoe. Oh, she had her head out here when
I walked in saying, feed me, feed me. But then I was going to say, Zoe, where are your children?
But then she looked back at them and they're just perfect little angels laying there.
Every time I see them being very still though, I always worry. Like I haven't seen that little
black coated one move. Move little baby. And you can't see them breathe with those sweaters on.
Oh shoot, I missed it. These babies were all standing under the light staring up at me
all in a row. Oh no, his little horns are starting to heal. Shoot. When that silver
spray comes off they get kind of bloody and gross and then they heal up. Yuck. I hate that for him.
Anyway, super cute. Isn't he so cute? I love that brown one with his big wide face and his big wide
nostrils. Like he's adorable. Just adorable. She's up. She's alive. They're doing so good.
Last night when I came down, the pink coated one, Star, was sleeping underneath that little
structure that they have in there that they climb on. She's sleeping underneath it, not underneath
the heat lamp. And she was all cuddled up, not moving. It always freaks me out. I always get
freaked out. So Sam and I ran down really quick. It's amazing how fast you can run down here.
And just pulled her out of there and she was fine, of course. Hopefully Zoe's babies, hopefully
Tilly's babies are fine because they don't use the heat lamp. Anyway, we are overrun with babies,
that's for sure. We have eight babies you guys. So these guys are not quite two days old yet
and they were kind of slow to start. Like they weren't slow to start. They're just so quiet
and content. Probably because Zoe has so much milk. I just couldn't like figure it out. They're
not three days old until tonight around 7 30. Wait, Thursday. They're not two days old. They're
not even two to 48 hours old yet. And they're finally starting to be super lively like the
others. And that's normal. But I'm a worrywart. Come here. Come and see me. I think these are
going to be spicy. She's peeing. Maybe she's peeing. I think she's peeing. Usually girls squat
though. Maybe she thinks she's a boy. Super cute. So I'm glad to see this. I'll be really excited
when the when Winnie has her babies. I think she's got three. I would guarantee she's got three.
Remember when I guaranteed she only had one? Well I'm gonna guarantee she has three. I'm gonna come
and sit with you. All right. So they both just had a big pee in front of me. So I know they're getting
lots of milk. Lots of milky. I'm so proud of Zoe. She's one that I thought would not be a good mom
of it. She's a really good mom. She just keeps lifting her face up from her breakfast every few
seconds staring at them to make sure they're okay. And if one of them screamed out she'd drop her
food and run over. Come here babies. Come here. Come here little blue-eyed girls. Come here.
So I need to figure out which one's pulled and which one's not. And I got no clue. Oh Sophie knows
because I can't remember anything. Hi star. Hi little star. Six days until this girl is ready
to give birth. Because she has triplets I'm wondering if she'll go a little bit early.
That sometimes happens. But every time I say something like that. Every time I say something
like that it doesn't work out. I said there's no way Zoe's gonna go on her due date. Went on her
due date. So what I need to say is there's no way that she's gonna go in six days. There's no way.
She's definitely not gonna have her babies on her due date. I really want them to come over and see
me. I have jeans on today. Makes it hard to move around. Come here. Oh you're trying. You're gonna
get it. The next time we come down they'll be up there I bet you. Typically what happens is that
there's this three-day window when they're about to go into labor. So three days before labor starts
their udder will suddenly start to fill up and all the all the back end will start to swell
and ligaments will start to go. Look here comes your water man. They're like yes fresh water.
It's me. She's like oh you stink. Only one got frosted ears. She's been better about cleaning
off their butts. Sophie gave her a talking to and explained that this is what has to happen.
You're responsible for that. So one thing about Zoe is that she doesn't have those really long
teats that her mom has. Blossom has these really nice long big teats that are so easy to milk.
She has really nice dairy skin. Her udder is butter soft or it's all so soft and she is easy
to milk. We milked out a lot of colostrum the first day. She's like oh no you didn't tell me
they get up and go crazy. But she has the tiny teats. The tiny teats are annoying. Lola has the
tiny teats. I like a goat with nice big teats. See just little tiny things. Hi baby. I'm thinking
maybe she'll go on Wednesday but looking at her back end she probably won't. But it's just saying
that you never know. It could happen. She could start changing. Everything could start changing
tomorrow. Do you know what triggers labor in goats? It's that the kids release a stress hormone.
They release a stress hormone and it triggers labor and when they have like a single baby in
there and it releases a stress hormone. It's not a lot of stress hormone because it's just one baby.
When you have three babies releasing the stress hormone that's a lot more stress hormone. So lots
of times those with multiple especially larger multiples more than twins they will go early
lots of times and our triplets have all gone early. Our quads went really early and our trips
went I think three days early. Both sets of triplets went three days early. So I'm anticipating
that she could go early but we'll see. We'll see. Right? They're really sweet. Yeah. You want to go
early? You want to have your babies early? I am pretty sure she's having at least one blonde and
white one. Probably a chocolate and white one. Oh you love your sister? Do you love her? She loves
her babies. I just saw her cleaning up after them. Washing their butts. Cleaning their butts. Look at
her udder. Her udder is nice and soft and a lot smaller than the day she gave birth because they'd
been drinking it all. And the thing that I really like about triplets is that they're so small
normally or normally they're smaller and they can just slide right out. Right? That's that's the way
to do it. Let them just slide right out. I don't know why people wear jeans honestly. It's so uncomfortable
especially if you're like bending down crawling on the ground. Today I'm going to meet my new
granddaughter so I want it to look nice for her. Okay I want to show you guys my obsession and it's
not baby goats. And what makes it even more odd is that I don't have any little kids. So I told
you guys I bought my grandkids either a Tony box which is what this is or a yodel player for
Christmas. I bought the yodel players last year and the Tony box last year. These are the Tony's
and every year I buy my grandkids yodel cards for the yodel player and Tony's for the Tony box for
my granddaughter. So whatever machine I bought them two years ago I try and maintain their
system for them. But I've become obsessed with collecting the Tony's. So let me show you how it
works. It's this little box and you put it on. So this is Miss Rachel.
Then you take it off. You take it off and you can put on another one. I got Lion King.
I only just started collecting them a week ago and these things are expensive. This is Lori Berkner
and if you want to change the song you tap the side but
you have to tap the side harder than that. But I have Daniel Tiger.
Anyway that's it. Some of them have stories. So this is Mama Llama
or this is Llama Llama. Do you guys know the Llama Llama stories? Llama Llama Red Pajama
by the author Anna Doudna. So some of them read stories. This one is a story one.
Most of the ones that I have are singing ones. I think this one has the Lion King story on it as
well as all the big all the big songs. This is like the Daniel Tiger show. I even have Snoop Dogg.
Super cool. This is not my favorite to be honest. But anyway I've been collecting them and I've
it's been a week now and I'm obsessed. If you have young kids it's this whole thing where people
collect them. It's obsessive. It's obsessive. People collect all the ones that are old and
retired. People collect. It's awful. It's crazy. So if you go into Facebook Marketplace people
sell these for the same price that you buy them brand new. So if you find a deal on Facebook
Marketplace you go driving all over the place just to pick them up and we picked up two of them
today. So that's my new obsession. I love it. It's so good for kids. I have this little playroom here
because my great kids are here a couple times a month. At least the little ones are. The big
ones live further. They all live kind of far. They live a little further but when they're here
even if we're outside in the summer I get they get tired and stuff and they want to go in.
I've got to have some place for them to play. Some place for them to like destroy everything.
So I think this will be a new a fun little addition to our playroom. I'm excited to collect
more. They have these are magnetic and they stay on the box by magnets and they have all these
stands and stuff that you can buy and they just stick on to it. You can even hang them like upside
down through because they're magnetic stands. I want to get a magnetic stand but there's none
big enough for all the Tonys that I want to collect. So I have seven in a week.
Two weekends. One week. I have seven so hopefully my collection grows fast. And one day when Gabby
and Sophie are bigger and they have babies maybe I'll be old and I won't need a playroom anymore
and I will gift my collection to one of them. It's pure ice out here. I don't know if you guys can
see all the ice but we're back to treacherous treacherous conditions. Oh it's actually it's
actually gorgeous gorgeous in the barn. She's like yes look at me I'm gorgeous. You're still
funny looking. So I washed all the towels. That whole bucket is full of towels and then this pile
of towels. That's an annoying one. Anyway that pile of towels all fresh and clean
for the next babies. I don't know when this girl is due. I almost had a heart attack. I almost
couldn't find her ligaments. So I don't know when she's due and I don't know if these two are due.
I feel like so she's due at the beginning of April or the end of April. She's due somewhere
in the middle of there but she doesn't have an udder yet and she got an udder so
my guess is she's not pregnant. But I dream she has two babies so I don't understand how that works.
One day one day she will have two babies. Do you guys think it's time time for us to
put them together? So last night I forgot he went in this stall she went in that stall
and I was like I'm too tired to fight about this. She looks sad though.
Anyway I just left them in their own stalls in the opposite stalls and now for some reason
she came out when I fed him and they're just eating together. How crazy is that?
Do you think that it's the time? Like sometimes it just you just need time to get used to somebody.
Do you think that like it's time or do you think we're gonna just constantly have one of those
situations where he always is bullying her because I don't want him to be I don't want her bullied.
It looks like so she slept in this side it looks like she wanted her blankets and tried to pull
them through. I don't know I have mom guilt. Last night it took forever for me to try and get
him to go back into his stall and her to go in her his her stall so I just left them switched.
Now I'm afraid that they had like a connection to their stall. I mean after all pigs make their own
beds they nest and burrow in their own bed. So I'm going to leave them here for a few minutes
to go get some fresh water so I can clean out their water and see what happens. They're definitely
going to fight over food whoever finishes first is going to want the other one's food. So these
guys are doing good the other babies are doing good there's only one set of babies I'm worried
about now. Do you see them? Do you see her babies? Oh because every time I look on the camera
they're under there. So I turned off this light because I'm worried about this light with her
and her horns but they don't use this light they're always under there. It makes me feel
like they're frozen and she lays up against there puts her body up against there. Stressful. I'm
gonna go drag them out. Quick look at Toffee though she I think she's only having one baby.
I don't know though she looks big though but she's a really short goat. If she carried like a four or
five pound baby inside that little body if she'd look big. All right we're six days away almost
five days away. I'm gonna start checking your ligaments and I think they are starting to soften
just barely. Like if I haven't been feeling them for a month I might not notice they're just starting
to like widen and separate a little bit. So let me reiterate by saying that these guys had a light
source all the way until last night but they haven't been using it. Like literally oops
have not been using it. So I want to see if you're warm and it's him mostly. Oh you're warm.
You're so big now. You're so big and so beautiful. Oh my gosh she is so beautiful.
She's so cute and you're cute too. Let me where's his sweater? Wait a minute.
No wonder he's under there. No wonder you're cold. Oh my oh he's so warm under there.
I can't get him out. Come here. Oh no. Come here. It's like being born again.
You've got to leave this sweater on. He is huge. Why'd you take it off eh? And why do you have
yellow all over your head? Have you been hitting this thing with your head? Have you been letting
him hit that with his head? No wonder you is cold. Poor baby. Okay watch out Tilly. Watch out.
Look. Oh Tilly. Come here. Okay look. Tilly. All right look. See his little head? I don't know if
you guys can see. It's yellow. Hi. Why are you doing that? Hey are you okay? Like I never see
them jumping and running but see the top of his head he's got little yellow marks and it's from
hitting that bar with his head because that's what his mom does. We're neglecting you. We're
neglecting you. Soon on Monday it's going to be 12 degrees. Look go with your mom. Let me see you
move around. I never get to see these guys moving. They're in the back stall. He's gotten huge.
Hi. We have um baby goat yoga. Goat yoga in next weekend. Next Sunday. A week from tomorrow.
So we have a lot of making these goats friendly to do between now and then.
It's actually actually quite nice in the barn. Sophie's off in one stall and I'm in one stall
because we kind of have to divide and conquer. Look at this. We have to divide and conquer because
there's so many of them in so many different places. I know a lot of people a lot of people
put their baby goats together and start milking the goats but it's too cold for me to do that.
Yeah I'm excited for the milk and I'm dying for the milk but we're gonna be waiting. She was right
up on top of me this little girl. Right up on my shoulder. You feeling happy? They're like oh we're
so bored in this stall. It's terrible. Well guess what? On Monday as long as it's not pure rain outside
you guys are going outside with your mama. You're gonna get to be with your friends.
Okay? Two more days. I promise one day soon you're gonna get to go outside. That's the the problem
with being born in the freezing cold. You know I breastfed five babies and I never got skinny
breastfeeding. All these goats it's like they are getting back into tip-top shape like a week after
giving birth for goodness sake. These guys are six days old and she's already back in her pre-pregnancy
jeans. Looking at him now I can't imagine how he wouldn't have gotten stuck. Like honestly I can't
imagine how this giant of a baby wouldn't have got stuck inside a little Nigerian dwarf. I was
thinking she had over she had over eight pounds of baby in her. This little tiny goat had over
eight pounds. When I carried eight pound babies it was I was miserable. I carried nine pound babies
it was the worst. Even little Zoe had seven pounds of baby. So they're carrying like people-sized
babies. What in my wondering eyes should appear? He wants out. I need to bring your water in.
So what if I fix their beds their blankets and then I leave the door between them open because
if one needs to get away one can get away and if one like he can't be in both sides
all the time. Eventually he's going to go to sleep and then she'll have
someplace to sleep. I think that's what I'm going to do because maybe she's in heat but
they're friends. A miracle on the day-by-day farm. A piggy miracle. Okay one last look. I went in and
was cleaning up the blankets and she came over there and cuddled me for a few minutes.
Like he does push her around. She came over and cuddled me for a few minutes
and then she came back to him. Oh man if we could take this stupid fence out I would be so happy.
Look Posey wants your blankets. You got the nicer bed
because he destroys his beds. You could sleep with him.
You could cuddle with him. He's like I don't like what's happening here.
I don't know she seems really low quiet but they're feeling it out. If she gets upset she
just has to run over here. Go in there. Okay she's definitely in heat. She's just standing.
She's in standing heat. She's waiting for him. She's like I'm here. I'm ready. He's like
sorry I got nothing for you.
