Inside Our DREAM Home House Tour

Hello, I'm Kay. Come on in my house. So we're gonna do a fun little walkthrough slash tour of the house today because this is probably our most requested video. We've been wanting to film it for a while, so let's get started. So this is our entryway. When you come in, we like to take our shoes off and I love that it has all of these windows. That was definitely a huge selling point for us. And then you have this beautiful mirror. Also one of my favorite pieces in the house. I told Tay like literally when we walked in the door to tour it that I would buy this house if they left this mirror. And funny enough, there's actually a door behind it. It's a secret door and that's where our AV closet is. So every time we have to get back there, we have to get like three strong men from the neighborhood to help us move it. But everyone here is so nice. So everybody always comes and helps us. And yeah, it's just, it's beautiful. I love it. I love being able to take pictures in front of it. So here's the living room. And it's probably where we spend about 90% of our time. I'm going to sound like a broken record for a minute, but the natural lighting in here from both sides, it's literally what sold this house to us. I mean, just all the windows. We came from an apartment with literally one window and that's like the only vitamin D that we got was from that one little window. So it's been so nice having all of the natural lighting. But what's really cool is all of these can close and it's like a movie theater in here. And so you can make it super dark, even if it's daylight outside. But we usually just leave them open because we love the natural lighting. So this is where our cats sleep. As you can see, Yammy is in her little spot. You can see on the little blanket. This is their blanket and it's Yammy and Gravy. And there are two little kitties on there, a white and a black kitty. We don't know who they are yet, but maybe one day we'll have two more. But that is where they sit. And then we all just kind of pile up in here. And I really wanted these poofs because you can use them as like little ottomans or sometimes we'll have game nights and we use these as like the seats with this table. So speaking of the cats, this is their other favorite place to sit. The cats love sitting up here because they can look out the windows and watch the birds and the trees. So they really love this spot. This is the light we went with. We thought it was super unique and we actually, there's like two versions. There's the really expensive original version and then there's the more affordable version, which is the one that we got because to be honest, it looks just as good in my opinion. It's like six feet in the air. So I don't think anybody's going to notice. Moving over to the kitchen, obviously big open floor plan, which I really like because not that I do a ton of hosting, but when I'm cooking and the family's downstairs, I just feel like we're all in the same place and I don't feel like I'm tucked away cooking dinner. This is where we do like our morning huddles. So every morning, Monday through Friday, we talk about our day. We talk about different tasks we need to get done and have like a whole checklist and this is where we do it. And this is where I cook sometimes, but I do, I do try to cook more recently, but with my health, it's been hard. So the reason this kitchen spoke to me is there are so many cabinets, like this entire side of the island is just cabinets. You will not run out of space in this kitchen. It's very minimalist, but I love it. And it makes my brain feel so good. And just off the kitchen, we have the hydration station, slash ovens, microwave, and ice machine. This is where I make my coffees every morning. And then we have like all of our little drink mixes. I'm super proud of this. Yeah, everything hydration. If you need a drink when you come to my house, this is where you come. And more storage, more cabinets. You really won't run out of places to put things. Another cool thing about the kitchen, we have this Alexa monitor and we can just watch Ellie when she naps. So even though she's upstairs, I feel comfortable knowing I can like see her right there on the screen. We get so many questions about the floors. Yes, they are concrete, which I actually thought that was going to be a deal breaker for me. I didn't think I was going to like the concrete, but it's grown on me. They're super easy to keep clean. And then we also have a pool. So coming in with wet feet, it's just so much better than having wood floor with a pool, in my opinion. It kind of fits the vibe of the downstairs. Coming off of the living room and kitchen, we have the formal dining room, really the only dining room. This room is definitely still a work in progress. We've only changed the light. We have a couple of furniture pieces, but I want to put something on this wall. We just haven't figured out what yet, but it definitely needs something. All the windows, you can see all of the greenery outside. And I just love greenery, even though I'm not good at keeping plants alive. I love plants. I'm going to get good one day. Off of the dining room, we have the little play area. This is like the Harry Potter bedroom. So we have all of her toys in here. We actually had so many toys at one point that we had to put them in a toy box because instead of a ball pit, it was like a toy pit. We just kind of rotate them every now and then. So she has new toys to play with. We spend a lot of time under here. So probably my favorite toy that she has is this little doll. And this little swaddle is made of cut up pieces of my Gigi's shirts. It still smells like her. So this is definitely my favorite. And we will keep this forever. So this is a little half bath for everybody downstairs. I'm not really going to go in, but I wanted to show you guys Kinsley's art that she made for me. Like literally she made that and it looks so professional. And I couldn't think of anywhere to hang them because I wanted them to be seen by everybody that comes over. And everybody goes to the bathroom and they will see it every time they go in. So I just love it. I'm so proud. And then she also left us a sweet little message. Her signature. It's her handprint. And also we have these really funky looking cool mirrors and we really like them with this little table. And now let's go upstairs. So speaking of Kinsley's art, this is also Kinsley's art. In fact, most of the art in our house is a Kinsley original. This one's my favorite. This one's the turtle. Speaking of Kinsley, this is her bedroom. I'm not going to show you in detail because she doesn't really want to show her bedroom. But she did say we could show her balcony. So I'm going to show you the balcony real quick. So this is definitely one of my favorite places in the house. And a big reason why we bought it. Again, all the natural lighting. And then you can just come out here and it has little lights out here. If it's dark, you can turn the lights on. It's like the front of the ship on the Titanic. What is that? Jack, I'm flying. So this hallway leads to all the other bedrooms. And I'm being quiet because Ellie is still asleep right now. So this first room is a guest room, aka the next baby's room. Right here starts the primary suite. So this is Taylor and I's little area. So here's our bedroom. It is also still a work in progress. I really haven't done a whole lot of decorating in here yet. But we do have our furniture, which is super important. This is my side. I have my sound machine that I have to sleep with. And then I have this cute little dish that Kinsley made me. I told you her artwork is all over this house. But this is where I put like my morning meds. So that when I wake up in the morning, they're just right there. And I can just take them right in bed. All right, we have the princess up. She's sleepy. Oh, you feel better? What's that? That is a bookshelf. And this is something I'm still working on. But it's coming together nicely. I don't know what it is about this window. But when we first got the house, this window just spoke to me. I love standing here and just looking out. It's like you're standing in the middle of the woods, even though you're like in the middle of a city. It's really nice. I love it. And here is our bathroom. It has a ton of natural lighting. You'll notice we don't even have the lights on in here. And I could still get ready in the mirror without even turning on the lights, which I love. So the shower is another one of the features we absolutely love about this house. It's very large and in charge. I look very tiny in here. Plenty of storage, which we definitely need. We even have storage in this little hallway here too. This is my soaker tub. Love this soaker tub. And then it has like a waterfall spout that is super, super cool. So I know I've been saying a lot of things are my favorite thing in the house, but this is actually my favorite thing in the house. This is the closet. And it is truly my dream closet. So this is my side and this is Tay's side. We share the shoes. I don't think I need to explain why I love the closet. It's huge and it holds all of my things. A lot of people have asked how did we fit all of these clothes in a two-bedroom apartment? And the answer to that question is suitcases and boxes. It wasn't that actually the closet like broke at one point because it was so heavy, but we did fit a lot of these clothes in that two-bedroom apartment. Everything in this house is very intentional, which is something we love. So right off of our primary closet, we have the laundry room. So we can literally take them out of the dryer straight to our bedroom to hang them up. So ignore the dirty clothes. We do live here. So we are doing laundry at the moment. And one thing I love about this house, there's not a lot of swinging doors. Most of our doors are these little pocket doors, which I like because you can just kind of tuck them away when you don't want to use them. So this is Ellie's room and I'm going to put her down because she's heavy. And it is probably one of the only rooms in the house that is almost completely done. So we have this shelf in here that I really love. We do have it secured to the wall for those wondering, but we always like to put fun learning toys on these two shelves because these are the ones that she can reach. You want this one? She could play in here for hours. This is our rocker. This is where we rock every single day to get ready for night-night. We read our stories here. She's like, I'm not ready for night-night. I just woke up. But I have had this since I was pregnant, and it was probably the best purchase we ever made when I was pregnant. So then this is Ellie's closet and she does have her own full bathroom. This is where we do her bath time and everything. All right. Now we are back to the office. And now that Ellie's up, we can show it to you. Okay. I know I said the closet was my favorite spot in the whole house, but this might come really close to the closet. This is Tay's side. And then I have the exact like opposite. This is my side. My side's prettier. This is where we work. This is where we play games. This is where Tay edits all of our videos. This video he edited right here. So Tay and I love this space because it has, again, natural lighting. The views are so nice to be able to work in here and have the vitamin D hitting you. This is usually where we spend most of our evenings. Once we put Ellie down, I can watch her on the screen and we either game or we work. Also, again, storage. Love the storage. This house has unlimited storage, which is so important to me. So this is one side of our backyard. They play out here a lot. Ellie loves to play out here. If you've seen any stories or pictures of Ellie playing in the backyard, this is where it is right here. So I absolutely love this space because it's super quiet back here and it's secluded. It feels very private, but also it is separate from the other backyard, which is where our pool is. So there is actually no way you can access the pool backyard from this backyard. So we feel very safe letting Ellie play out here. We never have to worry about her. Eventually, I would like to get like some swings, maybe a little slide swing set situation. Then back here, we have a cool little maze. So we call this the maze and you'll see why in a second. It's literally a maze. And then it opens up to the basketball court. I never use this basketball court and you'll see why. So Taylor, Ellie and Ken's play out here all the time. Like every evening when it cools down a little bit, they love to come out here. I don't know where they got their skills because I have none. See, I get it sometimes. So this is the pool side of the backyard. You'll see we have multiple locks on it. That was like a big thing for me. If I got a house with a pool, I either was going to have a fence on it or there would be zero access without adults. That's why we have so many locks for all of the outside doors. And they're all baby proofed and high up so nobody can reach them. So this is the pool side. It is a saltwater pool and it actually is heated in the winter months. So it kind of doubles as like a hot tub, which is really cool. But we haven't really shown it a lot of yet. And this is where we lay out and get some nice vitamin D. And you can also play music out here. So we really like to just relax out here. It's a nice little hosting spot. I do want to get a grill. We don't have a grill yet, but I think this summer getting a grill out here so we can grill like hamburgers and hot dogs will be really fun. So this is the fire pit. This is where we like to roast marshmallows. And on those really cold, crisp nights, we like to sit out here with blankets in the fire. And it's just like so relaxing. It's such a vibe. And please ignore how crazy all the plants are because it is winter outside right now. Well, today it's like 80 degrees outside, but it's actually technically winter. And they will, I hope, spring back to life during the summer months. All right, so there's our home. I hope you guys enjoyed it. And there's still a lot we want to do to the house to update it.
