I like it. It's time for him to come on and he's playing some Florida.
Oh, our second birdie at four comes from off the green. Rammy, ramming it in. Chad Ramey.
It's looking really nice in the air if it's the distance.
Go. Goodness gracious. Oh, is it ever. What a swing from Cantlay. Such nice rhythm.
There's a lot more room over that bunker than it looks as well in line with the flag.
There we go. Magnificent shot there from Hovland. Very similar, just a yard closer.
They can't see it from down there and they're up looking for a reaction.
How short that backswing was, I just wasn't able to commit to it. Now Connors third at the first.
That's eagle, eagle for Corey Connors and he is leading alone.
This whole location's in the front in a narrow part of this green.
Incredible control there. Meanwhile, over at the 12th, Brant Snedeker to move one back.
Okay. These players are feeling it on these greens, seeing the lines how they want it.
What a putt from Snedeker. Watch this takeaway, just a touch of a pause.
That's why he's been the best iron player today. Another one from mid-range for Sung J.M.
Go back over to 16. Jesper Svensson is starting the snake pit.
Came in from a great angle and Svensson just got rewarded for it. And it's perfect. Sung J.M.
answers Corey Connors' eagles. I got an eagle and I'm seven under. Brooks knew that was hit
hard enough to get up there where the gallery ropes pinch in. Brant Snedeker is solo second
right now. And could go on a bit of a run. Excellent shot. Sung J.M. had excellent distance
control all day. He's produced a lot of birdies so far. Last speed putt, he raced it by.
That one was good aim. Goodness gracious. Horschel's second at nine on the way. Oh,
what a shot for Billy. The par five first, Jordan Spieth looking to
open his week with an eagle, Julia. The start, this would be downhill right to left.
Gary Woodland just short of the green at the sixth, hitting his third.
Well, this is a beautiful par four dogleg. Left to right, no bunkers there. Off the tee shot.
Another hole out here at Innisbruck. Favorite the fifth man who won here a couple of years
ago, Vito Malnati. It's a cool par five. It goes up the hill, kind of a blind second shot.
There goes another hole. Back to back hole outs here. I think that was a pretty good break. It
hit the hole, Tom. They've set up to 14, par five, and Steven Yeager. Yeah, it's a good place to come
from there in that little throat. You're over at the cart, the drinks are over there, whatever it
is you're doing. Jordan was watching. He was watching. Jordan Spieth finds the center at the
fourth. Yeah, just a beautiful par four straightaway. There aren't a lot of dead straight
holes out here. This is one of them. Down the hill from the highest point on the golf course,
the 10th tee. Boy, players just all over the flagsticks here today, Steve. Beauty.
Seamus Power on the tee at 17. Very deep green here. Very narrow green as well. This whole
location, just the very front here. Tidy there, this whole play. Right into the wind. Playing back
into the wind, so if he wants he can throw this ball up in the air some, and he's done just that.
He's for it to release now. Now Spieth, the birdie at five. Yeah, what a great start this has been
for Jordan Spieth here at the Valspar Championship. Look at that card. When Adam Shank won in Bermuda,
he went one-handed. This has got to make you awfully nervous, Brent. Well, you know, you've
seen a lot of players practice that way, Tiger Woods. Seamus Power in the bunker at 18 with his
third. Just a beautiful sound there. It's hole-out Thursday here at the Valspar, Brent.
He's found a divot there in the first cut. Yes, if he can get the ball first, it might not be too
bad. I think he got good contact. Oh, look at this. There's Thomas. As was Neugard-Peterson at the
13th. Can we see another hole-out? Yes, we are indeed. Just keep on coming. This is launched up
the left side, may not have enough help with the wind to cut back enough. Yeah, a couple times.
Oh, that's green high. Where's it going? Whoa, it's still going. That is way up by the green. Guys,
I'm up at the green. The ball is past pin high. Wow, that is wild. I've never seen a ball go that
far. That's 443 yards. That might be the longest drive of the year. Joel Damon at the 12th hitting
his second. Likes it, kind of looks in the center of the green a little on the front of it over that bunker.
Good shot. Winner here from a few years ago, Taylor Moore on the tee at the 13th. Just a beautiful
golf swing by Taylor Moore. Saw that graphic only 6 out of 12. Now 7 out of 13 greens in regulation.
This is very high and cutting right of the flag. Oh, it's wonderful. You may have heard a little
bit of a roar earlier. This is Paul Peterson at the 18th. Thursday at the Valspar. Seemingly
hitting all by himself this time. Hopefully he doesn't hit another ball. Oh, hey, Rasmus.
This is the fifth major for Jackson Suber. He is a local kid. He got in with a sponsor
exemption and he was really grinding trying to get into this event. It means so much to him and
here he is not performing well just yet, but who knows what could happen out there. Another hole
out this time for Suber. Different look this week for the par four, which is always challenging.
Yeah, that big tree at the other side of the pond is gone now. It's not quite as intimidating
as second shot. Over to the 11th. Ford with his second. He can get it out there pretty hard off
the tee as well and right at it. Oh yeah. Max Homa. It's been a big time struggle on this Thursday
for Max. That'll make him feel a little better, but a lot of work to do. Yeah,
in 2012 and a lot of time between now and then, Tom.
Go back to the 13th. David Ford on the tee. He likes it. No, he does and he should. Now to the
15th and Davis Chatfield. Is it gonna be another one? Yes, just keep racking up the hole outs from
off the green. Sung Jae-in. He got it done in the morning, as did Brant Snedeker.
They are the two best after day one of this Valspar Championship.
