Thank you for making my office look so beautiful today. We're at the office but we're going to go
out and look at the weather situation today because you have got to understand that this
is the best time of year. So we're going to head out but first I noticed something.
I think the office has some new hires. Hello. I think the office has some new employee.
So where are you from? We're from Vietnam. Vietnam. Yes. Da Nang? No we're from Saigon.
Saigon. Ho Chi Minh. Okay. What district?
I think you district one lady. I think so.
When you come from Saigon to Da Nang it's vacation?
Kind of. Maybe some work? A little bit. Okay. Well how long are you here?
Four days. Well enjoy. Thank you for making my office look so beautiful today. Bye-bye.
Okay. Things looking good at the office today. Let's head down to the beach and you've got to
this. Well it was hard to break away from all that beauty inside the office but this is what
we're here to see today. This is the best time of the year to visit Vietnam if you're here for a
week or two or a month or two. The weather is absolutely perfect for Westerners. It's 26 degrees
Celsius. You can do the math for however you tell temperatures where you're from.
We've got a beautiful wind today and you can see all the people on the beach. In three months
there will be nobody on the beach because this time of day it'll be 35 degrees Celsius.
Absolutely scorching for the Westerner but plenty of people out today. A great offshore breeze.
Very little rain this time of year. The parasailing rental folks are already taking
advantage of this summer-like weather in hitting us in the spring of course except for the crazy
temperatures. So if you're planning a trip and you want to understand the weather because a lot of
people travel in Southeast Asia depending on the season. There are expats that come to retire here
but they will move around so that they are never living in a rainy season and you can travel
between to my knowledge Vietnam, Bali, Thailand and you can live year-round but never have to
experience a full-length rainy season. So we're here in front of the office. There's the office
in all its glory and lots of people at the beach and they're still probably mostly expats
because it's 12 noon and most of the locals are working but they would not be out here in these
numbers in July when it could be 35 to 37 degrees Celsius. An Tung is way down there.
It's pretty clear today. You can almost see all the way down to the point at Hoi An
and just out in the distance here where here is Cham Island. Great area for snorkeling and a little
bit of scuba diving out there. They do day trips out of Hoi An. So don't take my word for it but
just the activity on the beach and as crowded as it's been at night in the expat and tourist area,
you can tell this is the best weather time of the year. January, February, March to come here.
That way you can enjoy the outdoors and do not have to experience that unbearable heat if you're
not used to it. I was talking to a good friend of mine yesterday because I thought that the best
season for business and for tourists would be the summer and she said no. It is actually January,
February, March because the weather is much more bearable for Westerners. This is one of the little
local park areas. We're gonna show you some crazy activity up along this
boardwalk. The after work crowd in the near future. You will find that unbelievable
but just beautiful today. Folks out here, there's a soccer ball, we've got sunbathers,
we're swimming. We did a video from the top of that Sala Hotel when the channel first started
but I think we're going to do another one, maybe even the next one, and give you a express tour
of Da Nang. From way up there we can look at all of Da Nang in just a few minutes and point out
where everything is. So stay tuned for that. This fella's got some soccer skills. Hello,
where are you from? Sweden. Ah, I've been to Sweden for ice hockey before you were born
but I see your skill. Very good. So these fellas are from Sweden. I was there in 1976.
Yeah, old, old. And you come here just for vacation or you're working here?
Vacation. Great, huh? This whole video is about how this is the best time of year to be here for
the weather. Not 37, 40 degrees, 26. Perfect. Yes, perfect. There you have it. Right from
Scandinavia, you heard it, folks. The experts are telling you this weather is perfect. Well,
thank you, fellas. Enjoy your time here. All right, a little impromptu input from Sweden,
a place I visited to play ice hockey in 1976. Oh my God, I shouldn't admit to that.
I shouldn't even admit to being born in 1976. So the lifeguards are out. That means people
are in the water. But just great activity here in this perfect weather. This is the beach action
in the winter. Call it early spring right now here in Danang. We'll also do the beach tour here
for the afternoon rush from 4.30 to 8 p.m. You won't believe what's going on on this exact
same spot right here. So if you're going to come January, February, March, you'll have amazing
weather, get to enjoy everything that the outdoors of Danang and southern Vietnam have to offer.
We'll see you next time on the mark side.
