How Famous Is Magnus Carlsen in Norway¿

I went to Norway to see how big chess is there. You see, Magnus Carlsen, the world's best chess player, is from Norway. And I know that Norwegians are typically very, very proud of their top sports people. So I wanted to see how many people on the streets of Oslo, the capital of Norway, really know who Magnus Carlsen is. Sorry, do you know who this is? Magnus Carlsen. Great. Thank you. That was easy. Sorry, do you know who this is? Okay. Sorry guys, do you know who this is? Yes, Magnus Carlsen. Yay! Good job! I'm making a short about the people here now. Where are you from? France. France? Yeah. Okay, nice. See you. Sorry, do you know who this is? Magnus Carlsen. Magnus, yes. You know as well? Yeah, Magnus. Are you from here? I'm not. Yes, we are. I am. You are? Yeah. And where are you from? I'm from a different town, but I'm from Norway. Oh, but you're from Norway. Okay, okay. Aren't you a chess player yourself? Yes, I am. I am. I'm trying to see how big chess is here. It's huge. Everybody knows Magnus. Yeah. Thank you. Bye. Yay! He recognized me. Do you know who this is? Magnus Carlsen. Perfect. Yay! I've lived around central Oslo for a while, and I try to ask as many people as possible. But as you know, we Scandinavians, we can be a little bit socially awkward when it comes to speaking to strangers. So it wasn't the easiest task. However, everyone that did answer knew exactly who Magnus was. So I had to step up my game and ask more people. Do you know who this is? Who this is? Yes. Yes, it's him who... Yes, you speak Norwegian. Yes, I'm Swedish, but... Yes, it's Magnus Carlsen. Good, good. I'm trying to see how many people in Norway know. Do you play chess? Chess? If I play cards? If you play chess? No. Okay. Do you know who this is? Yes. Yes? Who is this? No. Do you know who it is? Magnus Carlsen? Yes. Perfect, thank you. Excuse me, do you know who this is? Magnus Carlsen? Yes. Good, thank you. Magnus Carlsen is so famous in this country, it's crazy. Everybody knows who he is. This is so cool. Do you know who this is? No. Yes? Yes. Good. Do you know who this is? Yes? Good. I've just walked around the streets of Oslo and I've asked so many people if they can recognize Magnus Carlsen. I showed them a picture of Magnus and I asked them, do you know who this is? And literally everyone knew it was Magnus Carlsen. Like, it's so obvious that Magnus Carlsen is super famous here, which is really cool. So I think that just shows how important he is for Norway. I was so impressed by the fact that everyone knew who Magnus Carlsen was and it shows just how big Magnus Carlsen really is in Norway. He is a huge superstar and he has made chess so mainstream in his country. So I find that absolutely incredible and I was just really impressed. I did not expect this to be the case.
