Welcome back to the channel everyone. Today we are at Adrian's house.
Unexpectedly. Unexpectedly.
We were just hanging out today and we were going to film a video but I wasn't too sure what
but I've been looking at Adrian's fish room and he reckons it's not ready for a tour. It's not.
But I reckon there's some really cool tanks and projects going on here.
So we're going to do a little mini tour. Reluctantly.
We're going to have a look at all of the species and all of the things that I think are interesting.
They're doing really really well. Yeah I do have some cool tubs we can look at.
Yeah and outside is absolutely booming. It's the start of summer here.
Yeah I want the birds in the waterfall. That's cool.
Yeah heaps of cool stuff. Yeah yeah.
So it'll be enough. It'll be enough.
I'm sure you'll like it. This will be a really good video.
Hope so. All right let's get into it.
Beautiful. Let's do it.
So we'll start off where we left off last time and we'll talk about the sunlit river tank.
I think it's coming along okay. I'm quite happy with the way it's growing in.
The sun has changed which is great of course you know from where it comes in
summertime as opposed to winter and in wintertime it actually
gets directly onto the tank but in summertime it doesn't which is great.
So I don't really have much of a problem. I'll just get out of your way there.
With any algae I haven't really cleaned this other than I gave it a scrape probably two days ago.
Hair algae does build up over time but it's easy to get out and
you know it's something that I'm not really battling with and
it's always changing. Every day it is a different
angle or the light's hitting it differently and I yeah I just still thoroughly enjoy it.
It's definitely settled into itself hasn't it?
It has yeah.
It looks like I thought it was amazing last time I was here.
Thank you.
But it's even better.
These tetras are really cool. I just love how you can see them from every side.
Yeah yeah they've settled down too whereas they were quite
flighty before and obviously I've filmed them a lot of times as well.
They're growing in especially the Colombian you know blue reds they're
like a piranha. That dude that is in there so they're all Serpe Tetras except for that one
Colombian and he jumped over the top so it was either whilst he was feeding because they
really smacked the surface of the water hard or yeah he got chased out by the others but I can't
catch him. I've tried many times. You know when you've got one fish in a tank and like it knows
when you're only after it and Serpes don't really you know freak out too much and then yeah he hides
as soon as I since the net even I look remotely like I'm going towards it.
That's yeah I know that's so annoying when you have fish.
Yeah they know.
Over here these look yeah that's them.
There's technically three aquariums here.
There is or four if you count the sump.
Yeah true.
Doing well like really well the whiptails in there are still they're getting really big which is
awesome hopefully they'll come out a bit later and then but I like that wall of
Serwosetang at the back there it looks really you know really cool from the other side when
the view up the river is pretty good as well.
I know the view coming this way is probably the best way to look at it it's
kind of hard to get on camera properly.
Yeah it is huh it's a hard tank to film.
It's got light coming from both sides and a bit of glare with the driveway so.
But the plants have settled in well I think.
I mean the plants are so happy.
The spider plant obviously all the moss and you know it's finding its way how
as the timber soaks and gets up further the moss keeps on creeping up which is
which is pretty cool.
Yeah you know the spider plant's showing out it's
it's things and you know it could actually kick off the effort if I decide to leave it there
as it comes out of the waterfall.
But it definitely would kick off wouldn't it.
Yeah wouldn't it.
Saw this moss the tillandsias are really nice.
Yep yep.
I don't know if you can see through the glare there but the that that whole wall of Serwosetang.
Yeah we can see it.
Yeah nice.
It is cool isn't it.
Yep yep.
It's kind of like a marini look.
It is very much so like a yeah like a macro algae.
Enough of the glare.
Yep.
Ready to shut this door.
Yeah we are we'll bring Sammy inside.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention Sam did come today.
My dogs are upstairs.
Yeah I've been questioning my decision ever since.
I know he's been fine.
I appreciate you saying that because I don't think he has been naughty.
Okay so the fish room evolves.
Yeah it goes dark.
This is my favorite version.
Show us your little device.
This thing.
Yeah so that's my my turf on wheels basically which is um it's an old in fact I did a video
on um on my channel about an outdoor tank and that's what this stand is from and it
had been outside for ages and it had rotten uh it had rotted off the bottom of the feet
so I just came up to the bottom cut them off rebraced it put some turf on it and it's you've
got fish in here which is I'm not moving around too much but yeah it's um it's totally cool
as far as weight's concerned I stand on it uh when I want to do stuff on these on these
tanks up here which is pretty cool.
I think can I have a beer I think I have one beer.
Oh I think one's allowed.
We're gonna have one beer and build a um a moving bed filter for you as well so which
will probably be another video on your channel but I'm actually gonna we're gonna use this
which is perfect set up for it which is a good segue I guess not that we planned that.
So that video will be up in the top right hand corner.
There you go you don't want to do the full tour because it's just like seriously not
like this is not tour ready you can see how much mulms in the bottom and stuff but I guess
this is real I mean I mean this is natural I like my fish keeping I like to keep it real
keep it simple like you do and it's like you know this is how it looks so but there's
also I would like to have cleaned up a little bit but it's okay.
So these angels some of these will be in your shop soon.
Yes.
We're gonna I'm gonna keep some of them in my eight footer I've got my mate is gonna
take some of them in the other eight footer and then I'm thinking I'm gonna put my white
fin ornate tetras in there to breed because these guys down here are bred which is the
lemon tetras.
Yeah I was getting some b-roll of these before.
Yeah and the plecos are bred in there as well I've got a heap of baby peps in there but
particularly.
Yeah you can see the peps up the back.
Yeah never ceases to amaze me that these are probably the most prolific breeding tetras
I think I've ever kept and even you know I'm not trying to breed them and they breed
and they end up you know going through the water systems and everything else as eggs
and yeah you find them in such random tanks but they're a lovely tetra they really are
and they're you know again not scared which is brilliant.
Yeah they are amazing I'm going with some really good footage here of them too.
Yeah fantastic.
So you'd say these are an easy fish for people to keep?
I would 100% yeah yeah if you if you're just getting into tetras you want something that's
hardy but it's also nice to look at I mean this is not a great light this is just a very
cheap light under the aquarium lights you'll see there why they're called lemon they're
very yellow their eyes are red which you know that contrast is amazing and see the
action how they're going around they don't mind showing off those guys to the left are
sparring that one who's just gone down here but they um they really do show off there
the boys go great fish and especially because they breed so well and you can see I've got
nothing in there that's really certainly nothing that deliberately set up for them to breed
I've got the thin leaf fowl sorry the thin leaf java fern that is whatever roots have
come off the pothos which I think I might have put a bit in there but I can't remember
just as you know grows nuts and that's it and I've got plex in there so you know odds
are you would have said that they wouldn't have bred in there but they have everything's
breeding in here actually yep pretty awesome how many peppermints do you reckon are in
here I'm gonna say between 70 and 100 that's crazy that's a big female out the front yep
speaking of breeding um things going nuts as these guys behind you the Akaras I mean I
wouldn't even be remotely exaggerating to say that there's been 600 fry in there in
the last seven to ten days and I've just left them I can't you know I can't deal with that
many Akaras and the Corys have picked them off and some of the other Akaras have picked
them off but they um they are just prolific yeah and they're breeding one pair is breeding
all the time and there's a pair in the corner doing their thing up there at the minute I'm
sure they've got eggs have they they do there you go you're not kidding they they literally
have their but their last baby was I think eaten two nights ago maybe so they had about
I don't know a couple of hundred at least it's crazy they just they breed so well for you how
old do you reckon these fish are oh man I've had this line um well over 10 years well have
always been this prolific or they get more and more prolific I think they're getting more
prolific having said that I've kept them breeding them for 10 years yeah I've got the same line
and the good thing about you know videos and pictures that they've actually got the dates
on them now and I can go back and sell them as I go oh wow I know I know documented fishing
I reckon everyone should just set up a little Instagram and just take photos of their fish
and upload it and not for to get any followers just for you to like go oh wow let's have this
record yeah yeah but yeah that's a cool tank so yeah the pandas are breeding in there oh they are
yep oh they're breeding in here too look at this little baby pet little baby yeah
that's a little bubby at the back I reckon I've got a hundred of those in there and then have a
look at them all sitting at the back there on the scene you can't see them look how how um
camouflaged they are but they're all in there there's one two three four five
but when you walk away they come out don't they yeah well when I feed they'll come out too
I'd have at least another 50 to 70 plex in there two peppermints I have to say the tank's a little
cloudy which isn't a problem it actually looks really natural look at the size of these angels
yeah that is a huge angel yes and they're Rio Negros those two Rio Negro yeah that's a better
way to look at it they're big fish yep and she's not happy with you being there which means they're
about to breed and lay some eggs which is great I love we'll have a look at my angel tank with my
other angel babies they'll lay on here absolutely yeah and and the other thing the telling sign as
you know is look down here look at all the other angels yeah they hide they those they get away
get down there you know and this is the biggest one in here um he's the pearl scale but he's lost
his eye oh no so yeah but he's um he's lived like that for about three months now without his eye
so he look how big he is though he is you know brutal life of an angel fish he's an old boy too
look at this big male clown isn't he gorgeous the sasa clown angel yeah girl so we got a pair there
yeah aren't they beautiful together gorgeous oh my goodness look at the size of these yeah
they're the biggest ones they're the happiest Takaras around they they're the oldest so they're
the great great great grandparents of the ones in here and they've been we have some of these in
store by the way guys yeah yep my bloodline absolutely so if you want to come check out
the store when you sell out if people want them they can just call you and pre-order them or
whatever i'll get them up i've got heaps yeah heaps of them but um yeah look at this one too
yeah golden chinese algae eater he was given to me by ross and peter he was the demon of their store
and no one wanted him and they couldn't sell him and i said i'll take him and he's just had an
awesome life in there hasn't attacked anything why does anyone want him because they're a bit
aggressive particularly in smaller tanks that aren't the akara's love the camera by the way
they'll they'll be up in front of your face yeah yeah yeah they've been filmed for years yeah um
but yeah they're aggressive the chinese algae eaters and they suck on the other fish but he
hasn't done that and he still does eat algae i've actually really enjoyed keeping him he is cool
yeah this is an awesome shot here and like he's in there with all the
adult boys breeding all the eggs so it's like you know you look at that and you go man
how did an adult egg survive yeah and there's a baby in here yeah and like you got again
conservatively another 70 peppermints in here you know um and then when they come out well you've
got the tetras and these black line tetras are awesome i'll drop a little bit of food in there
when they come out they are just the most spectacular fish to watch as far as a tetris
concerned you can hear the sheriff going off up there of course i'm gonna find what i did with
the food okay we found the food because we didn't bring any bug buffet today no no no and i'd love
some too i will um come up and see you though and drop some fish up and i'll um i'll definitely buy
some from you um yeah here they come here comes the tetras there's eight of them in there they're
bred in here they're not overly hard to breed yeah i was saying are they the same about as
congo tetras because i've bred those before yep you can definitely do it just maybe but they've
got this green shine to them as well when the water's clear and you know yeah um yeah they're
a really awesome big tetra you hear that come out over here so this is always a cool tank yeah i
can't wait to give it a cleanup like a revamp yeah yep it's coming soon i'm going to do the
outside tank first which will go it's just such a big job like people need to understand like
this is an eight foot long tank yeah yeah i think four days is going to take me to do this but maybe
even five by the time i do it and you've got to then have somewhere for the fish to go you're
shutting down the system which is those other six tanks are relying on so then i've got to
you know nurse those six tanks through that do this at the same time have these guys in
somewhere and then you're risking the life of your fish to do it you know so
yeah here comes the quarries a little quarry arm you'll come out not to be confused with the barmy
army that are also in australia at the moment yeah they are what do you reckon have you seen
been watching the cricket i have watched a little bit of it um who's gonna win well straight of
course how much though in the series out of five they've already won two there's three more games
probably four four to one do you reckon england's gonna pinch one back
it would be embarrassing if they didn't yeah well i don't think they've won an ashes game for
no a long time no no no i think yeah you never know though yeah you know when they got nothing
and someone you want to see him win something surely make it a little bit you know a little
bit of a competition you know exactly comment below if you're a fan from england yeah
comment your banter below yeah yeah anyways hey i'm stoked i got the 20 000 subscribers i know
how cool is that yeah that's pretty cool thank you very much if you're a subscriber of mine and
if you're not please i'd love you to come across that'd be awesome yeah yeah but i'm stoked that's
yeah that's been a journey that's for sure well i know like who would have thought from the day we
yeah did that first video yeah yeah yeah that you would end up getting your own channel and
and look i'm sure you're gonna get to 100k at some point yeah i mean i understand the start
of a youtube channel it's hard to get all the good equipment because it's expensive
and people think you people in youtube make lots of money it's um oh no it's not an easy job it
certainly for me it doesn't even pay its way like not even close you know with the time i put into
a bit that was an understanding of actually how much time it takes to go from ide and filming
and editing and you know all the all the stuff that goes in between so but it's been it's been
awesome i actually really enjoy the the process the creative stuff we were talking about before
when you're getting a good shot yeah of the fish and like some of that b-roll stuff that you got
there you and i just stand there go wow look at this you know i mean that's that's what i love
about the um being able to share that with people for the for the channel with the channel you know
so me too yeah yeah yeah and people love my fish as much as i love them they know them like the
you know the dogs and all the rest of it i've got some really very cool subs you know so people do
recognize sam when they come in store too which is oh yeah people know you sam that's so weird
isn't it all right so i want to talk about these ones yep it's still here yes the riffle shrimp
oh cool yeah so these guys filter through the water yep i can put a bit of dust in there once
you're ready for me though yeah i mean he pretty much will grab all that dust yep out of the water
and just put it into his mouth there's also red cherry shrimp in here uh and blue lots of blues
so it's like a mixed shrimp tank yeah it was blues and then yeah the others i find shrimp in every
single tank they get through the water system somehow and i think it's the drain um and they're
just going from tank to tank between the drains you know squeezing through the sponges and stuff
do you remember which tetra this is appreciate a red belly tetra he's i had 10 of them i have
bred them before as well i love them they're one of my favorite tetras but yeah all the rest are
gone and he's the oldest and i'm gonna put some ember tetras in with him soon the 10 that i've
got up in the other i'm taking those episto tanks down and the yep i was actually thinking
about putting my um sparkling gouramis in here yeah yeah it's a nice like a well-planted tank
for them they're in with the embers already and i want to just take them out of that tank that i
want to clean those two tanks out and you know sort of consolidate the fish and some other things i
want to do with them so they're gonna go in there i just love the way you've scaped it too like when
you look at cheers thank you man the way you've done it all like a fantasy forest i like to
describe it as it's really you know like yeah i'd love to snorkel through something like that
maybe one day hey maybe one day yeah this one next door is awesome as well i think yeah my babies
your baby angels yep but look at this pot of luigia luigia that's how you say it is it
i say luigia but luigia yep we're australian we can say whatever we like
i'll show you where that came from as well yeah that looks awesome in the back there
yeah but yeah the babies are so cute i love baby nice batch that one yeah and i love the red
dorsal fin that's on some of these guys you know especially some of those leopards don't
they won't they look good you know because i reckon that red will come down their forehead
like their parents so yeah they'll be quite dark that does of course and you'll see two or three
bigger ones in there that were a batch before them and then the baby chirus yeah and the
coreys in there there's a dozen stirbys in there they're gonna be harder to see
the cuteness on top of the log looking up there there you go yep yeah and under the log there's a
couple coming out there's a couple over here as well yeah they just come out of the the stirby
river i've got over there which we'll see but they um they're just eggs on the glass i don't
do anything you know i just leave the eggs on the glass and they breed in there and some survive and
they're just naturally sort of keeping the population control and i think i took a dozen
off to show my mate next door on how to breed them just to roll the eggs off because he's
getting eggs on his as well and i i showed him how to collect them i collected a dozen i think
and i put them into like just one of the or one of these buckets i just stick them in there with
some air going with an air stone and um that's it green water if i've got it definitely green
water i'd put you know the third green water in there if i had um bubbies in there and then i
put the um and not until they hatch though by the way the green water or maybe a little bit just to
build it up slowly but then i put them in there and then that's it feed the tank as though it's
you know got babies in it until you can actually see them so true yeah bug buffet is brilliant for
that by the way especially when you just tiny get a tiny bit milk it up into the war and then you
know exactly how much is going down and then at that time i will drop in uh ramshorn snails or
malaysian trumpet snails to eat any of the excess that the you know the the quarries don't pick up
and then green water the tank again till you can see them and then you know you're you're away
you've got they're really easy to breed particularly stirboy so if you haven't had a go
absolutely go and check it out and i think i've got a video on how i did how i bred my gold lasers
on the channel as well so it's a bit of a process you've got heaps of um content already breeding
content on that so have a go it's like there's so much around it's heaps of fun heaps of fun
and there's queues all get out and talking about quarries who's next door cw 51s now i've struggled
with them i bought seven from ross and they're the three i've got left and i do not know why
they've died or dying and they haven't bred for me they're extremely personal they come out they've
got i've got no issues with them you know being scared or flighty and but man i don't know why
perplexing yeah i know sometimes it's just hard with certain fish isn't it yeah yeah probably
we'll get some more and i'll probably do a standalone tank and you know do a real dark
sort of black water type tannin filled thing and see how that goes but what i have learned with
these guys is they're fine and as are pretty much all quarries with shrimp so you can see
all the shrimp around there again i didn't put shrimp in there but there is hundreds of shrimp
in that tank the common misconception yeah i'm probably guilty of saying it myself actually
but there you go there's proof shrimp and no problems at all and then the chinese white
oh yeah i didn't even notice them and these are just lit with the um floodlights yeah floodlights
yeah the ones that blew most of them i had a lot blowing a storm you know which is why the
rim's a bit weirdly lit um saltwater loving it having an issue with this is apparently a cyanobacteria
and i've got to get the bio load up and get rid of this i've got to siphon this out
um put a filter sock on catch it up and then build up the bio load but the the fish are doing
brilliantly uh some of the like the corals are doing brilliantly and then there's some that
really hate the cyanobacteria and they're not doing well at all so i am i'm learning as you know
what it's like to be a reef keeper really yeah i might give it an attempt one day you're only
ever going to keep the one tank right yeah i am i think you'll love it like you'll just get into it
especially with the corals and when you learn and see how beautiful they are just knowing you know
your personality yeah it will be a challenge and it'll be fun you know i wouldn't i don't think
i'll go more than one reef tank you know i might upgrade from this one to another one so but whenever
you know never know yeah that one over there i love this tank cheers thank you yeah these are the
pseudotrophia slow size that's them and look at how good those are yellow boys blue yep
yeah doing well breeding well i've got bubbies down here you'll see this one just at the top there
oh yeah they're mouth brooders they'll hold them until they're fully formed and then they'll spit
them out i will drop some food in there because they will come out these guys i can get to them
from the back because i got my bonsai on the top that's a one of my queensland figs i bring them
in every now and again to enjoy them yeah and it's one of the ones that i actually i really like
the shape of that particular fig it's very much like how you see them in nature as well i guess up
in north queensland but i um yeah i bring them in and if i've got a you know someone coming over on
the weekend or having people in my fish room i actually like to swap them around they only stay
in a day or so maybe two days max yeah um that one behind you um that's the back of it you'd have to
come and have a look from this side that's the front of it there and i know you've got some
b-roll as well but that bonsai is 80 years old and my grandfather bought it back from world war ii
when he was stationed in Papua New Guinea and then bought it back and it was the year
that my dad was born so it's the same age as my dad and yeah it's been in the family and looked
after for 80 years every day looked after water you know the things you have to do with bonsai as
you know i've got a few out there so yeah it keeps me and dad busy thankfully he's into it and
he helps it's crazy that you've had that since your granddad so yeah i mean how long do you
reckon you could keep that thing alive for uh well the oldest bonsais are 1500 to 1800 years old
yeah they they pass them down through generations and lots get over you know 800 to 1000 years old
these figs i think would be 500 years old you'd be able to get them to that sort of thing yeah
australia's not that old so no one's done it yet but certainly the you know 100 200 years i don't
think is out of the question at all so i'll pass this one down to my son and or maybe you know my
grandson i'll move them down that way but yeah it's something that that my granddad worked on
and my dad worked on and now i've worked on and yeah you know over that time our families looked
after it so yeah pretty cool it's very cool huh i love bonsai yeah i've got some olive trees from
my granddad who just passed away as well they're amazing and you know you can bonsai um olive trees
they will live for a thousand years they're some of the bonsai sorts of stuff that you can get that
are 1500 years old olive trees you know yeah so if it seeds and you can actually get them to grow
from it as well or you can even do aerial cuttings i've done them before yeah so and then
and grow a bonsai from it yeah that's that's a good story it's a good idea yeah welcome to our
bonsai channel yeah i know yeah all right we've just stopped for a little break we did sponsored
by coopers not really only having one but mind you um if you have watched my channel coopers
you could sponsor me yeah you could definitely sponsor us definitely definitely definitely
we have to look at this one oh yeah this is just a classic do you know this tank is there's nothing
more than i threw the gravel in and it's just my spare plants so i pick out of this tank oh wow
all the time so this is a beta that i got from you oh wow that boy and look he's in there with
his girl she looks dead but she's not over here she's asleep i hope she's asleep you know how
how many times have you looked at a fighter and you think they're dead pardon me i shouldn't say
yeah yeah that's fine edit no she's not isn't that funny the way they sleep that that happens
to me i how many years have i been keeping fish and so many times i look at them and go you know
what but uh yeah boy and girl in there there's another girl in there as well another white one
um this is the better police gonna come for you man yeah how many keep it better look at that
how many babies are in there look at them and they're not even chasing them it's just amazing
so these are 24k gold guppies yeah they they were and they were they've kind of morphed
the boys have got some red in them which you know i just pulled them out and i'm going to see what
comes of those babies and you know i've done the 24s for a long time so i'm probably they're still
a beautiful fish though lovely that's why i've kept those but the girls are so pretty i've kept
that together if it was the boys if the girls were ugly and the boys had morphed like they have i
would have just dumped the whole line but you'll see what i'm doing with the boys when we get
outside i'm trying to breed a rainbow guppy spectrum guppies we call them balls my little
bowls are looking all right yep we'll skim over these this is where they're all shrimping all
these ones boosters flowering and doing well anubias grows really well in the low light
you're still pouring um soda water in there yeah haven't done that for forever like yeah
well over a year or more i don't use any furs i don't use any co2 and other than when i do
something special like that to show what you can do but now i don't bother and it just goes nuts
and then they're super easy to to look after these tanks but you know this is in my way the
sawasatang so when i find it like that i just get it i got so much sawasatang it's not funny
or sawasatang as we call it here in australia i just dump in there now that's and i pick from that
i really like the blackbeard algae i've got no tanks other than this one with blackbeard algae
but that's a big sponge filter on that and yeah i just leave it i don't i don't do anything that's
one of my spare tubs in fact i've do you wanna have a look at the other tubs i'll have to open
it all do that in a sec let's look over there first i love these little mickey mouse putties
yep i would love to get a pair to you and get you to breed them the line is really good really
stable really defined but they eat their babies like massive cannibals man like massive so they
hunt them down like you wouldn't believe so we need those i really need to be able to grab the
female and stick her into some sort of fry catcher just catch up the babies as they go
there's some trilinealis corys in there and some plex of course what's this plant
uh blue stricter blue stricter yeah and the same as the one at the back over there that's a blue
stricter yep and then just all of the how well are the um crypts growing yeah i know the crypts
are going nuts yeah no have you been adding any root fertilization yeah wow that's pretty
incredible now i will show you the other shrimp tank very quickly as well when we get around there
mate it's gone even i'd say two three times more than that harder than that there's so many it's
not funny i'm gonna come up here and yeah that's one of my faves so up on this because the lights
are out but it looks awesome in person yeah it's a it's a bit of a black water tank as well just
because um that water's coming from my rainwater tank yeah and it's got lots of tannins and stuff
in it already it's going through the aqua one filter i've got i will drop some um some food in
there's about 200 ish stir buys in here the water's not flowing very fast had i known
we'd be filming the tank yeah i would have um i it's only because of i've got a pre-filter on up
here so we'll feed them and you can do some b-roll i'll take that off and then you watch how cloudy
the tank gets but they love it but it's how fast that's probably half as flowing half as fast as i
like it it's still piping along yeah yeah you'll see when i get it going all right well that pretty
much wraps up for over here in the sump remember down here there's something you told us about last
time oh yeah i've still got fish in there how's it going going the sump's doing really well but
they're all endless oh no although i think i do have a multifaceted in there yeah and you've got
a diy for that on your channel i do have yeah that was when my sump broke and i decided to do a diy
filter that is the easiest way to manage the sump easy to clean easy to pull out yeah i just found
it excellent i'd do one again for sure the only thing i'd like to add which i'm going to add to
the eight foot is a bio barrel uh pre sort of filter the good thing about the flow not being
so strong is it will drop but then you'll see all the baby cories come out i'll swap it again
that's pretty cool to see yeah it takes them about five minutes from all to sort of
wake up and come out it is a bit early it's only lunchtime
i don't know this is the middle of their night really i normally feed them about
five thirty six o'clock they're a beautiful fish too aren't they yeah it's such a gorgeous little
army you got here how many do you reckon are in here i know well i put 200 in when i cleaned
it out last time i counted 200 and put 200 back in and they've been breeding ever since
and the bristlenose are breeding too yeah oh i've got 100 of them in there
everywhere you look on the timber around here there's baby bristlenose
there you go yep bristlenose babies now i'm going to show you the thing that you couldn't see
remember i said have a look at that tank and see what was i walked past it for ages and didn't
work out what yeah yeah the surprise the mystery the surprise the mystery so it's in mr wendell's
tank where i've got my blixer japonica of course so how's yours going by the way you know it's
growing it's going good yeah yeah um so i've got some more there if you want some but so anubias
yeah yep and how it starts to come out of the water yep and see the shape of the leaf
realize that that is anubias and look at flower and you might say that you know you've got them
flower before but i've never had anubias flower in all my years and then oh i didn't notice that
wow and look at that looks like a philodendron yeah look at the shape of the leaves and the
yeah it's crazy and it's actually flowered so for me again first time so that's why but
i walked past it for ages when i'd you know the roots it had been growing out yeah
yeah have a look it's all this stuffy this is in here too
oh wow crazy that's a bit of a milestone
wow that's pretty cool happy look at all the other plants though
yeah doing well this one's definitely ready for a revamp of some oh it is yeah it'll be a
dark tank as well because my mr wendell the ghost and i've seen there look at this one
coming on this is the bonds i'm actually taking this one out i'll show you the pond i'm going to
put this plant in to remember this plant setting that up for the borrelii but have a look i'll
give you a new tank incoming yeah so that's the borrelii they're in the tank up there i'm going
to put a pair in there i'm going to put a pair in the front tank of the river tank yeah and i don't
know where i've got three pairs in there i'm thinking probably one of these but i mean just
to show you this as the because you know i've still got the one wide but look at the crypts
look at them oh wow isn't that crazy and no no root no nothing so not only no root tabs
no fertilizer no co2 very rare water changes and one spotlight you know and have a look at how
as you know how spongy this is it is pretty awesome to look at that yeah and all the shrimp coming out
now i've moved it all yeah so i'm gonna pull that tank apart and yeah clean it up and uh mr
bojangles my black ghost knife down there i don't know that you've no point filming down there but
he man i reckon he's about that long oh wow huge so he's moving out of there probably into the
bottom tank over there under mr uh under mr wendlandt two sort of um moramid style black
so i might even put him into a bigger tank than that one i he needs to go into a big one
is that eggs in there from the yeah i've got adolfo eggs look i've got still half a dozen
pairs of adolfoys in there that's pretty cool and they're big eggs they are aren't they yeah
they are big old adolfoys too and how these guys change their attitude now for filming yeah they
never wanted to before and now it's all about the food and yeah no i've got tons of babies of those
yeah yeah they look uh they look good again now the light's blown up there
so i've just i'm renovation time it is yeah it's a bit of a cleanup you want to go outside
yeah let's go have a look at the ponds all right let's do that time to film outside
and i've already infected it with my camera gear and this is what we were expecting
hey sammy no enough boys settle mister stop it no get the enforcer out oh my god
sammy come on enough this is your outside ponds you've been working on these so yes
it's basically under construction so what i'm doing and i've been promising it for ages but
i'm sort of pretty much um ready yeah they're nice beautiful yeah i love that it's like a
actually while you're going for it have a look at this from these angles over here there's some
nice tigers in there and that one over there they're actually really nice you know and the
story how i got them was i got all my pure lines and the ones that were just some bread they'll
bring through whites blues oranges you know tigers and went you know what it's too hard
just chuck them all into one tub because i just want my darkers i don't need to breed and
and then the colors man that have come from it so this tank the bottom broke last summer
um i'm finally ready to now position it so it's a bow front um it's half inch thick glass which
i'm so pissed that i you know broke it but anyway i'm going to make it follow the path
then if you're the half a dozen that suggested it thank you um follow the path there and then
you'll see it's already drilled um for an outlet so what i've got i've got these bits of old stuff
which i'm going to have um as part of this coming out of here and then the boys are going nuts of
course no no so that's the waterfall that i that you know going to come out of that into that the
boys are just going nuts they are friends oh yeah no they that's yeah they're having some level of
fun no thank you okay come here all right let's calm down so yeah they're the two waterfall
sections that i'm going to build somehow in here so there'll be a pump in this
uh big round tub here i've sort of if i can let's just say i'm going to
this is on my my my dream list maybe you know that i'm dream vision perhaps so that is definitely
going to happen pumps out of there into this waterfall some sort of bonsai out of the top
and some nice really nice medaka in there that way if any eggs go through into here it's not
a problem but what i'm thinking of is i could actually split the pump depending on how big
the pump is or have two pumps that actually go along the so to continue wonder why i can drink
and it's not even my dog i know so so yes it will go in but if i had my way and my
you know dream list i'd actually like to split the pump have it go all the way to the end because
these are i've actually somewhat set this up so that i could actually levels could go from into
that tub which i can connect to this tub which connect to this tub which i can actually get into
this tub so i've actually got before to go all four of these outside tubs and if i did that i
could put a bio barrel out here like a big bio barrel yeah and just run it through the bio barrel
so i'm yeah i'm thinking i'll do that i'm going to set this up first yeah but that'll be a second
potential build this is amazing like the yellow flowers
the luigia yep or luigia and then this is pennywort is it pennywort yeah look at it coming
out of here i just can i please put that cutting yes you can hey look at this have you seen this
is it hard to grow no i don't think so no so and there's also bacopa in there and then i don't know
the name of this one do you know the name of this one the pond point no i don't know it but you'll
see it's like the little cenotes where you can actually see into the you know into the deep
water and it's like a forest for them you know what's this plant in the middle oh i don't know
the name of that one i got it from um eliza look how big it gets oh that's the same plant yeah and
it's flower and i've got the flower as well wow so these are all the pure line guppies i've got
and breeding so and i've got no um no filter no air uh basically no money so that's what that
video i did uh was about was no worries just get some foam tubs the water does go green but the
guppies love it we have them from time to time at the shop if you ask yes yeah yeah yeah absolutely
they're the kois in there those other ones over there with the dumbo
tri-colored dumbos they really color up so well in the sun it's just it's crazy how nice they get
platinum blues in here and the boys do color up really lovely and now the girls have got some
color on their tail which is nice but these are the ones i'm happy with they're my albino blue
topaz and they've finally started to show their true form of you know being out in the colors
so the color's coming out being out in the sun you know you're incredible yeah i love them we
want to somehow whether it's today or soon i want to catch the only the last mickey mouse platy i've
got in here for you i think it's a girl and we'll get a boy from in there but yeah she's done two
two winters in the um outdoors it's crazy that the platies can actually live outside like that
you know so but they're all the goldfish um in there the water's pretty clean you can see them
i love that so these don't get picked off by kookaburras no no um basically there's enough
food in the chicken pen with all the scraps and bits and pieces to uh and what my dad sort of
feeds them as well that um yeah we don't get any like i've had kookaburras come down and take a
whole rump steak off off the barbecue my dad was cooking it and it came down and took the whole
rump steak and pissed off up the tree and they slap it you know how they slap them around and
my dad had to sit there and watch it eat the rump steak how long ago was that oh that's probably
18 months two years like it was when we not not too long after moved here this is a cool little
pond if you want to look at just you call it mutt guppies but i'm actually this is a experiment i'm
trying to get um those gold ones here um this style here with the blue and green and red and
yellow and orange and basically a full spectrum colored uh you know rainbow type guppy if i can
start to breed them that'd be cool so i've just got all of the the guppies you've just seen
except for the koi and put them any of the uh the coals in there nice you've got heaps of shrimp
heaps of shrimp there's heaps of shrimp in this next one here too which is the golden white clouds
oh this is a nice pond yeah and those little black things darting around there are baby um
you know how again when i did a video of setting this up um i found babies in there and it was
because i took the frog bit from that tank where the goldfish were and put them into there so
they're all goldfish babies wow yeah which are actually eating the um the white cloud babies
no of course they would be yeah yeah because i had half a dozen in there white cloud babies gone
do you love that like portal in yep i love it yeah it's it's it's a bit of a
thing for me at the minute and i've done it um in a couple of ways here you'll see i've got just
my koi sorties in here i tap it they'll come out as well because they're some training when they
come out to eat i'd like to get some white into them so that they're full koi yeah and there are
some in there as well but i think i've got to probably gotta leave the kahaku styles in there
but see i've done some areas over here some holes there's heaps of babies that come up over there
when i feed as well so that again that little you know spy hole in there that pretty much wraps
everything up doesn't it no what else is there we've got the bird bar yeah yeah yeah i'll take
so we were just feeding the king parrot was it yeah i've got a few that hang around that
one's particularly particularly tame my dad and i feed it all the time and stuff
the other things out here were the i wanted to show you was the water feature the water feature
in there we can actually um we might just even head in particularly to the other side where
there's no babies but no no way so we've got the double door this is pretty neat yeah so i'll open
this up here you'll have to be pretty careful as you walk in because you'll see i've got little baby
quails in here so you'll have to uh follow me in yeah all right and so you have to be
very careful because you'll see look at little that is so tiny oh my god aren't they
little blondie that's so cute too and then these are quail are they little quails yeah
australian king quails natives and then out here stand here before we go and scare the birds off
you'll see the colors of the birds better but aren't they looking spectacular now they're coming
to summer the guldian finches all australian native birds the light purple chest of the females
and the dark purple of the boys like this red here is a boy over there
but they're just a gorgeous australian native finch yeah what i brought you in the show was
this yeah you wonder up it's biofiltered from underneath as well basically i've done one pond
split it in two again i did a video on setting this up but basically split it in two
and i've got just anubias um some crips and other sawasatang in there i didn't even notice that
yeah you do yeah and the uh the birds love it they bathe underneath the waterfall like fully
like a shower and they also get into the slower parts of the rivers and submerge themselves
it's just a a naturalistic setup as i could make really for the birds to enjoy you know
yeah i've got some video of them playing around in that waterfall yeah it's totally changed their
life like they absolutely adore the water it's the first thing they get up and get in the morning
it's the last thing they do of the night they bathe all day it's just made them so much happier
so which is you know when you're looking after you know creatures it's nice to see them you know
enjoying themselves with the two budgies sitting over there and just turning around yeah
they're a pair they've bred before how cute yeah australian budgies yep so this is awesome
this guy behind his colors are spectacular he's just moved in my hill oh he's on that okay so he's
on the black ledge now he's up here he's not wanting to be filmed is he those new eggs oh
yeah mommy's just jumped off there because we disturbed her lay hatch you reckon oh yeah
well that was awesome thanks for showing us in there and then i wanted to see this as well
yeah so this is an autofill bird bath so my dad was filling it you know two and three also how
beautiful are the daisies yeah they're nice aren't they australian seaside daisies i love their
flowers yeah yeah they're beautiful plant and they start off pink and purple as well so
when there's a heap of water they'll be white and when they dry out they'll go pink oh cool yeah
yeah the bird bath basically dad was filling it three four five times a day it's got a reservoir
underneath and um it was an old sort of water feature which i've got the reservoir from and
then just drilled a hole throughout again there's a video on my channel about how to do it and it's
on a timer so every every two hours i think it runs for 15 minutes cleans itself out fills itself
up but it's also you'll see dad's still got the pipe exposed but dad's connected it to the water
system oh okay so it's got a float valve inside of it now so what happens is it feels automatically
fills up as it gets low so we don't ever have to fill it up and then it just overflows and runs and
the birds go absolutely crazy it's just one of their absolute favorite the plants are loving it
they do yeah and i specifically chose ones that like water and of course the cup's always full
because of the splashing yeah so it's a very synergistic sort of a setup there so any water
that does splash the plants really like wet feet cool man well thanks for showing us your place i
think we are done aren't we yeah that's about it for now anyway yeah for a non-planned video
yeah that was well probably an hour and a bit yeah easy i can talk for a while i know
well um thanks for watching everyone and we'll see you in the next video yeah or on my channel
thank you very much that'd be awesome thank you very much cheers guys yeah see ya sammy come here
thank you sit sit no thank you okay come here you're a good boy all right let's calm down
come on
