Namaskar, Adam Shastrigal and Khusham Adid. Very, very good evening to all of you people. This is
our master DJ Harsh Piyam who is going to talk about today the country which is named as United
Kingdoms. So a country which is a group of four different countries and this United Kingdom is
a dream destination for a lot of students although having some tough times right now in United
Kingdoms. Probably the entire economy is not working that great but still as a country it's
not that bad country. In fact it's a very good country and it is a house for or it is a home
for a lot of top QS world ranking universities and colleges there in United Kingdom. So today
I'm going to get deep dive into this particular topic that which all colleges are there, how you
can study in United Kingdom although it won't be a very lengthy or a very descriptive video but it
would be giving you a fair idea that whether you should aim for United Kingdoms or not and if you
would be needing any other further detail video on United Kingdoms or any other particular further
college kindly let me know in the comment box. I'd be happy to help you. So let's get into the
session and let's see what United Kingdom has to offer all of us. Here we go. But before starting
I would recommend or I would request all of you kindly subscribe to the channel because you'll
get a lot of beautiful, useful and meaningful content here on this channel which is going to
give you a guiding light so that you can choose your career and you can move ahead
with a direction that okay I have got this information and hence I now I can take
further my decisions. Okay at the same time you can subscribe to the Vedanta study abroad telegram
channel as well. In this telegram channel we would be sharing a lot of useful data sheets,
links, pdfs, the entire college list all such stuffs are shared here in the telegram channel.
Okay so let's get started. Here we go. First of all the video credit goes to this
student Sanatan Bhaskar. This boy has commented that vote for study in UK and more than 100
students were supporting this comment so hence I made a video on this. So that's what I say all
the time that if you have any request any demand just write it down in the comment box and if that
comment gets support I would surely be making a video on that. Okay so first of all United
Kingdom is around 6700 kilometers from India. It is the flight time for London specifically from
Delhi to London. The flight time is around nine and a half hours. It is five and a half hours
behind us. So India is five and a half hours ahead of United Kingdom. The time zone which
they follow there in United Kingdom the England that is five and a half hours behind United
Kingdom. Now moving forward United Kingdom is basically this a lot of you might not be knowing
United Kingdom is basically made up of four different countries like four different countries
have come together and they have decided to make UK that is United Kingdom. So United Kingdom which
most of the people knows that it is England it's not England. England is one of the country of
United Kingdom rest are Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Let me tell you that Ireland
is also divided into two different countries. One is Northern Ireland and another is Southern
Ireland. Southern Ireland is a independent democratic country whereas Northern Ireland
is a country of United Kingdom. So United Kingdom holds the sovereignty of these countries.
Okay I hope you would have got an idea but whether you have got it or not I don't know.
You can write it down in the comment box if you have any doubt. Okay so these four countries
together constitute United Kingdom. Now moving forward the capital for United Kingdom is
London. London is also the capital for England and it's the capital for United Kingdom as well.
Official language is English. Currency is pound sterling it's not euro. Earlier United Kingdom
or England or Britain which you can say they were a part of EU, European Union. At that time
European Union like euro was a currency here but now pound sterling like earlier also pound sterling
was there. So pound sterling is their currency having a currency rate of 106 Indian rupees.
Okay now moving forward which are the top colleges which are there in United Kingdom which are in
the top QS world ranking. So I have taken the top 10 colleges of United Kingdom. The first being
Imperial College of London ICL which has got a QS world ranking of second. First then next is
University of Oxford third, University of Cambridge UCL, University of Edinburgh, University of
Manchester, King's College and then London's LSE London School of Economics. This is a very famous
college in fact Dr. Manmohan Singh also studied from this college. University of Bristol, University
of Warwick. Okay so these are all the colleges although if I would have taken top 100 rankings
of QS world ranking then more colleges would have come. So I have just taken the top 10 colleges.
Okay now moving forward let's talk about the living expenses in United Kingdom. So there are
two different type of living expenses. First if you live in London, if you live in London,
London is a pretty exorbitantly expensive city to live in. So you can compare London with Mumbai
or New York or Tokyo like some of the top cities of the world, London being one of them. So if you
are staying in London your average monthly expenses would short up like anything. And what is that?
So that is around 1300 to 1400 pounds per month. If you convert this 1300 to 1400 it would come
somewhere around 1.4 to 1.5 lakh rupees per month. This much is the living expense only,
accommodation, food and basic bills. That's it like food, internet, telephone bills like those
kind of things, medical insurance that would come into 1.5 lakh rupees per month. Now if you don't
choose London, you go to some tier 2 cities, there in tier 2 city this cost would massively reduce
and it would come down to 96,000 like 1 lakh rupees to 1.3 lakh max. So you can very well see
that what's the difference, it's around 50 percent of difference in the cost of living. So around
1 lakh rupees is the cost of living in other cities and in London it is around 1.5 lakh rupees.
Now in other cities I have done a breakup also that if you choose a student hall which is the
most economical thing, there including all your bills like your food, your phone bill, your
internet bills, all those things, it would be coming somewhere around 70 to 75,000 rupees per month.
Although if you choose a private room without bills, so private room with bills the breakup
was not there, it would cost somewhere around 60,000 for the room itself, rest the bills would
be adding up and it would be surely making it around 1 lakh rupees. And if you choose for
shared rooms then it would be somewhere around 42,000, bills added up would make somewhere around
80,000 rupees. So this is the entire idea. Now so you can take a lump sum that 70,000 to 1 lakh
rupees would be required in a non-London city or you can say non-metro city. Now moving forward,
you can work there. The part-time work rules are there. According to rule, a student can work for
20 hours a week in part-time. Now in 20 hours a week the basic minimum wages for a student
between 18 to 20 years, it is 8.6 pounds which is around 924 rupees per hour. Although if you
21 years and above, you can refer to this price that is 11.44 pounds which is 1220 or 2030 rupees
per hour. Now based on this calculation, if I take this calculation your monthly payout would
be somewhere around 73,000 because 20 hours a week you can work and then there is a total
four weeks in a month. So 80 hours multiplied with this, we get somewhere around 73,000.
Although if you are 21 years above, you will be getting this much like 1 lakh rupees
lump sum per month on a part-time basis. Now let me tell you this is minimum wage.
So minimum wage is something which is beyond like below that amount you can't go. But obviously
most of the people who are even average intelligence, they can very easily go above
the basic wages. And above the basic wages even if you get like 1 lakh rupees is the basic wage,
minimum wage. You can go to 1.5 lakh, 2 lakh rupees, 3 lakh rupees, whatever
your capabilities or intelligence are according to that. But around 1.5 to 2 lakh rupees monthly,
that is an average payout which a part-time student can earn in England, in United Kingdom.
I hope you got this. Now moving forward, what are the prices or what are the fees of colleges?
So now talking here about undergraduate colleges, it varies from 12 lakh rupees to 40 lakh rupees.
And now let me tell you, this is your 12 lakh rupees to 40 lakh rupees is your
fee structure per year. Mind this, this is per year. So United Kingdom is exorbitantly expensive.
For that, I would surely say because even the currency is pretty inflated there, 106 rupees
per British pound sterling. So that is very very too much expensive. Now typically undergraduate
degree scores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland last for 3 years or 4 years in England.
So in Scotland, it's of 4 years. Otherwise, in rest of the countries, it is of 3 years degree.
Postgraduate, there the fees is around 10 lakh rupees to 32 lakh rupees. There the course
duration is of 1 or 2 years. Okay fine. Now moving forward, what are the requirements
or scholarships? So let me tell you, there are scholarships but those scholarships are
university specific scholarship like University of Sheffield Undergraduate Merit Scholarship.
Here, you would be given 10.7 lakh rupees like 1 million rupees. So 10.7 lakh rupees
towards the tuition fees up to 4 years. So for all 4 years, you would be given this much amount.
So you can cover most of your expenses. 2-3 lakh rupees would have been like would be
had to be given by your pocket. So that's like easily manageable. IELTS is not required.
Offer applies to all undergraduate degree courses except medicine and industry. You must not be a
sponsored student. So you must not be eligible or you must not have taken any other scholarship
apart from this one. Next is University of Bristol's Think Big Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarship Awards. So this is around 7 lakh rupees to 14 lakh rupees per year and are
any undergraduate course at the University of Bristol with the exception of medicine,
dentistry and veterinary sciences. So here also like most of the universities do have
their own scholarship program so that they can attract the intelligent crowd.
So these scholarships are available. Although unlike other countries, United Kingdom hardly
offers any government-sponsored scholarships. So government-sponsored scholarships and that
too for undergraduate level are not at all like not even probably one or two might be there and
that too they are not very famous. So you will have to search internet. You have to search
individually the university's website in which university you want to go and there you would
get the details but it's not government-sponsored. These scholarships are college-sponsored,
university-sponsored. So you can even refer to this website bachelorsportal.com slash scholarship.
Here you will get a lot of details. From here only I have got these details.
Now so there are few scholarships, two of these scholarships but they are also valid for
postgraduates for master's degree. One is great scholarship which is government-sponsored. Here
government would be giving 10.7 lakh rupees students from 18 countries towards their tuition
fee for a wide range of one-year taught postgraduate courses and the next is commonwealth scholarship.
This is again given by government. This is student should have completed 12th or their final year
and they shouldn't be more than 40 years full coverage of tuition fees or the chosen program.
This is given but both these scholarships given by government is covering postgraduate courses only,
not any undergraduate courses. Now moving forward, what are the admission requirements? So at least
12 years of education means you should be 12th pass with minimum marks as specified,
minimum subject qualification in some universities. Now how do they qualify? So they have made levels.
What is the level? So first level is A star AA. A star AA means you are a student who have got
90 percent above in CBSE, ICSE or ISC board. Although if you are a state board examination,
in West Bengal state board examination, above 80 percent would be considered as A star AA.
But in other state board examination, 92 percent plus would be considered as A star AA. So let's
take the central board in focus right now. Now AAA level is 85 plus, AAB is 80 plus and so on.
So you just remember these three. If you remember these three levels, you would be seeing that
these are the top colleges of United Kingdom. So University of Oxford being the best,
so they do allow AAA or equivalent or above this. So AAA or A star AA. So A star AA being the highest
or AAA. So AAA or above this is being accepted by University of Oxford. University of Cambridge,
AAA or above. Imperial College of London, AAA, okay. London School of Economics, they
allow A star AA or AAA for equivalent, fine. Now this is also the same, but here University
College of London, UCL, which we were talking about, they do accept ABB. ABB means 75 percent
above, they accept that. And University of Manchester, they accept AAB. AAB means above
80 percent. So there would be a few colleges which would be accepting a lower percentage
of mark in class 12 also. And in those colleges, you can apply obviously, fine. Now moving forward,
what are other admission requirements? So obviously, English speaking countries, their
courses are also English speaking, so they would be needing English proficiency examination and
hence IELTS or TOEFL or PTE academics, this examination would be required. Next, most of
them do have an intake band of 7 minimum. Some of them do have 6.5 also, so you can take a basic
minimum of 7 IELTS band required. Now post-study opportunities, once you are done with your
studies, what all opportunities does this country offer you? So in engineering and IT graduates,
they do have an average payout of Rs. 26 lakhs to Rs. 238 lakhs per year. So even if I take
somewhere around Rs. 30 lakhs as the median or Rs. 36 lakhs, I don't know. But Rs. 30 lakhs,
this means Rs. 2.5 lakhs per month. Not bad enough, although not that great, but not that bad
enough also. Finance and banking section has the highest payout Rs. 32 lakhs to Rs. 42 or
Rs. 43 lakhs per annum. So obviously, United Kingdom is known for financial services,
banking services because that is great in United Kingdom. Next is healthcare graduates. So here,
it is around Rs. 25-26 lakhs to Rs. 32 lakhs. So you can choose it accordingly.
Now moving forward, that was all for this session, my folks. I hope you loved and enjoyed the
session. Although I have not covered the entire detail about United Kingdom and the study in UK

you to write down in the comment box if you need any other further details, information,
and or if you want any other further coverage like this particular college or this particular
scholarship, write down in the comment box. Do let me know also that how was this session in
the comment box. And with this, myself Harsh Priyam signing off at this junction,
