Welcome back to yet another Bike vs Car showdown.
Once again, we've welcomed the bike community back to the strip to do their worst
against us four-wheeled enthusiasts.
And they've pulled up with a crazy bit of kit and a serious rider.
Today, tuned BMW G80 M3 xDrive takes on TTS Supercharged Kawasaki ZZR 1400.
This one's savage.
Let's get over and meet today's pilots and their builds.
So first up today, representing for us four-wheeled lovers, it's Luke.
Pulling up in his rapid 2024 Stage 2 Plus three-litre inline six-cylinder
twin-turbo-powered 900bhp BMW G80 M3 xDrive.
And pulling up to race him, flying the flag for Team Two Wheels,
it's bike YouTube sensation Al Fagan from 44 Teeth.
Pulling up on a fully built 2015 1.4-litre inline four-cylinder Kawasaki ZZR 1400.
And if the standard 200bhp on something that weighs over five times less
than the BMW wasn't enough, this bike's been supercharged by TTS Performance
and now produces a crazy 380bhp.
That's more than an E46 BMW M3 for the record.
Let's get over and get some sound checks and specs.
This one's going to be crazy.
The bike has literally double the car's power-to-weight,
but the car's got quadruple the grip.
So this should be interesting.
And as always, we only use the best and most accurate GPS measuring devices.
And that's why today we'll be using the V-Box PBT in the car
and the V-Box Sport on the bike.
First up, it's the roll races.
Place your bets.
Right, it's all changing now.
I'm going to race that M3.
Hopefully, she's toasty.
Lose all the heat as soon as we get off the stand.
Right, guys, so we're back with another crazy race.
And to my right, I have the main man, non-car guy OG.
And of course, we're friends, but I want him to lose badly today.
Who are you picking for the win?
Ah, it's got to be the M4.
M3, close enough.
Yeah, yeah.
Are you going with the car then?
Yeah, actually, I'm going to go for the bike.
All right, he's changed his mind.
He's going for the bike.
I'm going for the car, it seems.
And whatever happens, bro, it's freezing.
So let's get these races going and you're going to lose.
Let's go.
There's no quick shifter.
Oh, right.
You stitched me right up here, didn't you?
It's not stable, mate.
He's slapping his f***ing tits off.
Why are you looking at me like that?
I'm just saying, it's not as big a gap as...
No, no, no, but my God, man.
That was a clean...
That was clean here, too.
That was, yeah, everything was clean about it.
I like it.
No, I think he's right.
But I don't think it was by a lot.
Finish line, finish line.
Who won that?
All right, all right, all right, all right.
The bike boys celebrating.
And we're giving the win.
And Team James.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
All right, we're coming back.
Listen, you know what?
I might even give you the Royal Races.
But when it comes to the drag race, you better be...
I'll keep humble.
Right now, if I was you, I'd just be humble.
Because, boy...
You've got a lot of height right now.
It's cool, man.
So what are you saying?
What are you saying?
I feel like I'm smoking everything.
I saw a bike doing a couple of runs and it looked nasty.
Keep that energy.
I am.
All right, listen.
Drag races, remember there's energy right now, yeah?
Watch what I'm going to do to you.
Yeah?
I'm going to get him this time, though.
That was a poor start.
I was all over the place.
Mate, this is moving.
I won't lie.
James is backing you on this race.
I'm backing the M3.
So I want to be your mate.
And good luck, but not too much luck.
Listen, bikes...
I was all over the place at the start there,
but I think I can improve on that start.
Right, listen.
I thought, if anything, they're going to absolutely gap us in.
It's going to be the roll, right?
Yeah.
They're not beating you by that much, bro.
Nah.
All right?
So drag races, it's curtains for them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now, let's go again.
Let's go again.
Let's run again.
I don't know if you saw,
but you know what my guy's going to win?
He's got on...
Remember Mr Motivator?
He used to wear those snazzy little outfits.
That's what my guy's got on.
We don't care about all that when we're racing.
It's not how you look, it's how you're winning.
Gear change.
That is so close.
I honestly don't know.
I think...
I was going to actually say that you got that one.
Nah, that looked like a draw.
That was quite...
I tell you what, the BM done a lot better that time.
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
It seemed that way.
We've got to remember, look, the bike is riding right now.
It's not...
It's unideal runway.
So hats off to the bike.
I know it can probably go quicker.
Maybe.
Who knows?
Let me find out.
Finish line, finish line.
Who won it?
Hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
You were getting nervous a minute ago.
Yeah.
So close.
I gave him a bit of a head start as well.
He ain't confident with nothing.
Anyway, do you know what happens now?
Drag races.
Yeah.
That's easy, no work.
Come on, man.
I love this.
Let's do this.
Let's see what happens.
I'll tell you what.
Those who say racing in a straight line is boring,
come and have a go on this.
Messed up the start again, man.
Keep messing up the start.
It's not looking good, bruv.
It's looking good, but...
You reckon you can do this?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah, you got confidence.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm messing up the gear change.
It's super close at the top.
Yeah.
That one looked really tight.
The start, I messed up again.
I told myself, I was like, well, let's do it right now.
Yeah.
I messed it up again.
But this is light work now, this.
I've got faith.
I've got faith in my...
Have you, you've hit the bike?
Oh, yeah, I've hit the bike.
I was going to go with you, but...
Never launched this bike before in my life.
Ready.
Set.
What are you telling me?
The launch, though.
Hang on, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
What happened to all that energy?
He tried to just drove up to me.
What happened to all that energy, bruv?
It was a launch.
That's what I'm trying to work out.
Well, you need to speak to my guy.
What happened to your guy?
You need to speak to him.
Yeah, bruv, what happened to your energy, bruv?
What happened to the winner's mentality?
Listen, don't start doing all this.
Listen, bruv.
Just take the L.
Take the L.
Do you reckon it's going to change on the next one?
No, not if he's...
And remember the energy!
Remember the energy!
Okay, all right, let's line him up and make James feel this again.
Right.
Well, I apologise to everyone on the boat.
It's like a world.
So James is backing you and he thinks he's going to give you a pep talk now.
Just need to have a little question.
Did you launch?
Yeah.
That was a launch?
That was a launch, but...
But the first time I launched it...
It's the first time.
But I tell you what, when he tells you to go like that, go!
Yeah.
A 2.48.
No way!
In the wet, bruv.
Not even a wet, a little bit of lift.
You know what, though?
You're racing a bike that...
Like, let's be real, that bike can do numbers, yeah?
Yeah.
Bro, you're gapping it.
Yeah.
You're gapping it.
They're getting a bit smug for the little Roll Race wins, yeah?
By two car lengths.
I think you're putting bus lengths on them on the drag site, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
And you're warm.
Yeah, you know what I mean?
Ready?
Ready, set, go!
He's close.
Ah!
Ah, that was much better.
Ah, sorry, guys.
Look, this is a caveat.
I've never launched this bike before.
That was much better.
I'm not gonna lie.
Your guy put in the work that time.
He did.
He put in the work that time.
I'm gonna say M3 took it, but your guy put in the work.
I have so many questions, though.
Why did his leg come up halfway down the strip?
Oh, no, the bikers are gonna get...
Bikers, educate your guy.
Educate your guy.
Can your guy turn down boosts or something?
Bro, he's 900 horsepower.
How much lower do you want to go?
Your bike's got 10,000 brake horsepower per tonne.
Right now, it's 2-2.
Your guy won.
It's 2-2.
I don't know.
Let's find out.
Finish line.
Who won that?
I think we do a bonus race.
What's the bonus?
Can you turn down boosts?
I don't know.
We can't turn it down, but we can give you the hit, maybe.
Or a car lap.
No, no, no.
If you give me the...
If you give the hit, I swear I'll beat you.
Bro, you're acting like you're riding a bike.
This guy, you know what I mean?
He's actually visualising.
All right, cool.
So he gets a hit.
Yeah.
All right, cool.
Let's do it.
Bonus race.
All right, put it there.
Put it there, matey.
Put some money on it?
No, I don't.
That was close.
That was close, man.
That's all right.
There they come to the strip on two wheels,
thinking they can beat our four-wheel drive community.
That was a lot closer.
It was close.
But this is what we're going to do to really even up.
Bonus race, right?
Yeah.
You've won the drag, so he's won the rolls.
Yeah.
We're going to give him the hit on the drag.
Okay.
Yeah?
You're going to chase, yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I'll ask, are you ready?
I'll ask, is he ready?
And I'll put my hands by my side.
When he goes, you go.
Okay.
Yeah?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right, like that.
Like, I was powered up with his rear wheel.
Yeah, yeah.
So we're going to give you the hit.
We're going to line up side by side.
I'm going to ask, are you ready?
Ask, are you ready?
I'm going to put my hands down.
When you go, he chases.
That's how we're doing it.
Okay.
Yeah?
So you get the hit.
Drag race.
Drag race, you get the hit.
So when you go, he's got to chase.
Close the gap.
Oh, let's see how this one.
I love the energy.
Let's see what happens here first.
And then we'll go from there.
Have you got this on camera?
He thinks he's got the roll.
All right, finish line.
We are doing a bonus race.
Bonus race.
Right, we've got a bonus race.
And because it was so close, he's given me the hit.
Ready?
Come on.
Oh, yeah, baby.
Oh, yeah.
I don't know.
All right, listen, big up to the white rider right now.
I can't lie.
Listen, what he's doing on this surface is mad right now.
Because he is putting that power down.
No extended swing on.
I know it's got a lot of power,
but to keep that front wheel down is no joke.
I'm going to say you won that.
I don't know.
I'm going to say you won it.
It was neck and neck.
It was close.
Let's find out.
Finish line.
Who won that?
Well, look, that race didn't count anyway.
I'm joking.
Listen, the bike is putting in the work.
Shout out to TTS.
Once again, another supercharged bike.
Serious bike.
He's talking spicy though.
Yeah, he's talking spicy.
But listen.
He thinks he can get on the roads.
You're talking spicy.
Don't worry about it.
Listen, listen.
Sometimes we get excited when we take the ends of this car, man.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
We won't go that far today.
Put it back down.
That's it.
But what I will say is, you know, the bikes did get fed.
I can't put my fingers up.
The L, shall we say.
I can't put my fingers up.
It's so cold.
Good.
L to the bike riders on the drags.
L to the car boys on the rolls.
Simple as.
L to the bike riders for life, man.
We're cars out here.
L to bikes.
But I still won.
And L to James.
I can't put my fingers up, but 3-2.
So close.
So close, man.
That's it, man.
I honestly thought, I honestly thought I'd f***ing mull of that.
But fair play.
Listen, how much did he beat you by?
Like a bumper.
Listen, you gave him a hit and it ended just like that.
He's riding that bike though.
But your car's doing all that.
How he's keeping his bike down and straight, mate.
It's crazy.
Epic, though.
Epic.
Once again, two wheels win.
Come on, come on.
Yeah, f*** you, mate.
Crazy.
But let's take a look over at the fastest times achieved during the runs,
using the V-Boxes and extracting the data using RaceLogic's test suite software
and starting with the best 100 to 200 kph times.
And the bike proves to be the fastest, going 100 to 200 in just 4.02 seconds,
beating the M3's best time of an admirable 4.91 seconds.
Then taking a look over at the fastest quarter mile times achieved,
this one's actually ultra close, with under two tenths separating the two.
However, this one goes to the four-wheeled community,
covering the quarter mile in a lightning fast 9.99 seconds
at a speed of 142 mph,
beating the bike's best time of 10.16 seconds at a speed of 148 mph.
And finally, taking a look over at the fastest 0 to 60 times achieved
the M3 takes at home for the car community,
hitting 60 in a rapid 2.48 seconds on a less than ideal surface.
Al, however, shows a masterclass in launching a bike that he's never ridden before today
on a cold, semi-damp runway, hitting 60 in a mind-blowing 2.87 seconds,
which is actually a standard swingarm record here.
I commend you, sir.
That's RaceLogic data to paint a fuller picture.
Yeah, that was crazy.
To see a bike run these times with no extended swingarm,
no quick shifter, factory tyres,
and a rider new to the bike on a less than ideal surface is pretty admirable.
It takes a serious jockey to extract the most out of a bike like that on a surface like this.
And there's even speculation by TTS that the Kawasaki could have been running
around 100 bhp down from its normal power figure.
However, today we had a mixed bag of results.
The bike takes the car 2 for 2 on the rolls,
and bonus race aside, the car takes the bike 2 for 2 on the drags,
showing today power-to-weight done its thing on a roll,
and traction done its thing from a dig.
The impressive thing about the BMW is it's still a mildly tuned family car,
keeping up with a heavily modified superbike.
And yes, conditions weren't the best.
But honestly, if it was dry, even with double the power-to-weight,
do you think the bike could have beaten the BMW from a dig?
I'm not too sure.
And yes, we filmed this race the same day we filmed the Hayabusa versus my M240i,
before the bike community start crying about the same conditions again.
But this time, you can't cry about the rider, hey?
Regardless, a massive shout-out to everyone involved,
to TTS Performance, and a special shout-out to Al from 4040 for making this one happen.
