And that's a wrap for Honduras! The last few days were intense – long hours spent on the bike covering significant distance from the busy coast to remote mountain passes. This exploration of eastern Honduras served as a truly great finale, allowing me to collect those last, lasting memories.

Good morning it's time to leave this paradise I camped here at the back of the restaurant last
night and then it rained all night so the road condition is like that today this is going to be
interesting uh start of the day and the plan for today is well we're gonna just follow the coast
because apparently apparently around 300 kilometers from here on the other side of Honduras there's a
town that it's worth seeing because that's like a hot spot at the caribbean sea for Honduras so
we better check that one out and we're good to go chilly let's get out of this puddle land
this is gonna be interesting
muchas gracias adios adios
it rained so much whoa whoa whoa it rained so much last night
that I am not surprised that this road is so wet
and we're out of there and for the rest of the day we'll be on pavement we're going through
La Ceiba which is one of the major cities here on the coast and I think it's a popular tourist spot
for people who want to have holidays at the sea and clearly it's a big city because we have a lot
I like the option of the footpath right okay now we have to go down sorry
in 200 meters at the roundabout take the second exit and stay on calle 22
this is a mayhem oh what the hell's going on here
heavy come on come on chop chop I don't have all day
it's raining this is not fun I still have 100k to go it's a long day on the bike today because
oh it's raining more sorry sorry bumpy bumpy bumpy bumpy bumpy
rider rider rider and we are out of there um yeah it's just that this road is very crowded
there's a lot of villages there's a lot of trucks
slow traffic it's going to take forever I've been already riding for three hours
oh it's raining again like this time really heavily but looks like we're closer to the
mountains on the side well you probably can't see it because it's cloudy uh are we there yet
look at that some kind of parade or something what is this flag what does it mean
I wonder what's today today is Saturday so it must be some kind of
must be some kind of big day in Honduras today I need to investigate it
oh wow like they are everywhere not sure what's going on but it looks very cool oh no
did I turn left to stay on RN39 then slide right onto CA13 and we have made it to Trujillo
our final destination for today so this time I'm a little bit more organized because it is Saturday
and I knew I'm going to arrive late we're going to the Airbnb apartment uh interesting
my apartment should be like right here all right here we go this is us
we made it we didn't die it was a very tiring day the road is very congested there's a lot of
traffic slow trucks slow cars motorcycle potholes so it involves a lot of concentration so like
nearly 300 kilometers took me four and a half hours of like really pushing through and my fatigue
levels these days are very high okay I got three more weeks until I have a break so we have to
push through so today I won't be doing anything exciting I've got this room on Airbnb I'm very
happy with that it's very clean it's new and it costs only 45 dollars so now I'm gonna go to bed
no no I'm gonna have a shower I'm gonna have something to eat and now I'm gonna go to bed
and tomorrow we'll explore the area bye for now oh my hair I need a hairdresser right now
but we don't have time for that good morning I feel so much better I had a good night's sleep
cold shower there's no hot showers in Central America it's just so hot sometimes I know the
that's okay never mind don't worry about it the plan for today is we're gonna go to the
end of the peninsula you see this beautiful bay of the Caribbean Sea and then we start traveling
south I don't know where just south as close to the border as possible but I think it's gonna
take us two days to get to the border I have two and a half weeks before I see my mom and my sister
in Costa Rica I will still have Nicaragua and half of Costa Rica to do so we gotta push through
you can do this you can get you can do this you can do this oh I'm already tired thinking about
chilly let's go so here we have the bay all right can we see the open sea here I don't think so
but yeah open Caribbean sea from that side and behind here is the bay I thought this road
would be a little bit more scenic but let's just get to the end where we can see water
yeah I think further down there is the port and I don't think we are allowed to go there
so I'm just gonna turn around and go back to this village and then let's just see the bay
from the village I guess we don't have a choice that's it all right let's try this one that looks
more like a major road oh yeah at the end of this one we'll be able to see
the bay it's like crowded there can we go here oh look at this not sure if I can actually even
turn around there yeah oh well it's just got this little bit further I know it looks like
it's a part of poverty but maybe we'll be able to see something all right chilly wait for me here
let's see the bay buenos dias I just can I see see oh wow it's like a little beach
oh this is pretty
basically last night it's very like
across the water there where are we yeah that way that way that's it we're saying goodbye to
the Caribbean sea we're saying goodbye we do a high five I'm well thank you
oh my god it's so hard truly it's my favorite scene in the whole world so long Caribbean sea
I'll come back to you someday but not too soon I'm back chilly let's head south
let's do a quick break for a snack these are like my favorite lollies they're like
sweet jelly lollies soft jelly so we still have another 130 kilometers
I'm not sure about the road is it paved is it unpaved we'll see chilly are you ready
let's continue oh wow it's already 3 30 we better hurry we don't want to ride in the dark
my GPS is saying take right uh clearly it's a private road okay we'll go straight
honestly Google in Central America is out of control
unpaved again this looks like a military base or something right or I like this road and I think
we're gonna be on it for at least minimum 30k so let's enjoy it it's a nice fast travel
on a sunny day honestly when I'm riding through this forest I don't feel like I'm in Central
America feels like I'm in Canada or somewhere or even Poland because of those pines I reckon
and the air is so fresh and it's not too hot 29 that's not hot well it's not humid so that's
a big difference I had no idea we're gonna be doing this road I did
so cool such a nice surprise probably should mark it I know which road I'm doing but to be honest
I'm not very sure look at that this road is so scenic I must say this part of the country
Nicaraguan border is so much different and remote there's not many villages there's not many cars
not many tracks I truly enjoy it actually I think this is my favorite part of Honduras
I must say the riding here is great
and we're out of the mountains we're on the fast travel again and I believe from now on
we'll be on take the next ride onto RN53 that's it that's us that was an awesome shortcut I
enjoyed it and we have made it to Danly just before it got dark 6 pm soon it will be dark
let's hope the hotel I've chosen on google has a room for me fingers crossed it was a long day
I was riding for seven hours today big day okay we're in they hide a room for me I'm so pleased
I'm so tired we made it good morning this is my last commentary in Honduras I just wanted to say
thank you Honduras for having me I do feel like I didn't do a good job covering this country because
I was rushing I think I was here 10 days in total and I was just really really riding a lot
but I felt like I didn't have time to stop and take it all in that sort of stuff because I'm on
the run to get to Costa Rica but regardless I had the best time here so thank you so much Honduras
for all these beautiful memories it's still raining Chillie how are you? A bit wet isn't it?
