This is Wembley. Not just a stadium. Not just a neighborhood. It's one of the largest South
Asian communities in London. A living, breathing mosaic of spice, struggle, survival, and soul.
Not spicy at all. Too little, man. Heat me up with the next one.
I'm here to uncover the real story, not the one they show you in travel brochures.
From Bangladeshi biryani to Pakistani nihari, Gujarati street snacks to Punjabi tandoor,
we're diving into the flavors and faces that make this place a cultural powerhouse.
This destroys the taste in general. Sorry, Mexico.
South Asians have been shaping Britain for over 500 years,
yet are still seen as outsiders. There's nowhere else where you eat this good.
So good. This isn't just a food tour. It's a journey through history, identity,
migration, and some seriously legendary eats. Welcome to the real London. Wembley, let's go.
This is India. No, this is not. We are in Wembley.
And this is us, and we're about to go on an incredible food tour of Wembley, London. Let's go.
So we're here on Ealing Road, and as you can see, it's just like never-ending amount of
Indian restaurants. Over here, we have a lot of the clothing, a lot of stores. And I see people,
a lot of Indians dressed up in the proper clothing today.
Baba Ramdev as well, a yoga guy. Oh yeah? This guy's a yoga guy?
Yeah.
And in terms of the Indians that live here, is there a specific area?
You know, like in Southall, you'll see more Punjabi and Pakistani community,
but in Wembley, it's all Gujarat. I mean, 90% Gujaratis, then we have South Indians and
other cultures, but it's most Gujarati.
I guess the most famous name in India is Patel.
Yeah. Famous Gujarati surname, Patel. Patel always on top.
Patel are always into businesses, whether it's food business, jewelry, clothing, hotels,
restaurants, Patel is always on top.
Supermarkets.
Yeah.
Patel supermarkets in America, a huge amount of them, and this is Patel food and chat.
Hey, how are you doing? Hello.
What is this?
Manchurian balls.
You want to try?
Manchurian balls?
That's our Indo-Chinese influence. It's like a tofu ball. Oh, it's spicy.
Spicy for you?
A little bit. A little spicy. Oh my gosh. What are they making over there?
These are vada for vada pav.
Our best selling item.
So what is vada pav? That's the Indian burger.
Indian burger. Indian burger. 100% vegetarian.
100% vegetarian.
Everything here, everything, no eggs inside.
Even sauce as well. Vegan sauce. We use vegan sauce.
It's a vegan. No eggs in mayonnaise as well. It's from USA.
We make the best. Maybe not.
Yeah.
All right. So vada pav, originally from Mumbai. This is more Gujarati style.
So that is an aloo patty. Well, it's a potato patty.
Then they've dressed it up with chickpea batter,
throw into the fryer, fries for like a minute or two, and then it comes out here.
What are we doing over here?
Indo-Chinese for you. Rice, noodles, and manchurian balls.
Okay.
Oh, so it's a combo. It's noodles and rice in one dish.
Whoa, what is that?
Chilli sauce.
It's amazing. It smells amazing. Oh my God.
You ready?
Drooling over it.
Crispy noodles.
Crispy noodles. Wow.
What? Oh, you serve it in a leaf plate?
Yeah.
This is literally a leaf plate.
That's incredible. Amazing.
Wow. You know, the first time I had an Indo-Chinese food was in Mumbai at this beach, famous beach.
Oh, he's going to put some squirt.
All right, so I'm going to try this with a nice ball,
crispy right here with that beautiful combo, rice, noodles.
It's amazing because it has Indian spices, but it has a Chinese flavor.
Incredible. Oh, it's like a...
It's not spicy for you?
No, no, no, not spicy at all. Too little, man. Hit me up with the next one.
So what are you going to make now?
Manchurian dry?
Yeah.
All right.
That's panipuri masala?
Yeah. It's the topping of panipuri.
That looks delicious. Oh, wow. It's a spicy masala.
Yeah. Little bit spicy. Not too much spicy.
Not too spicy?
No, no.
And where are you from? Gujarat as well?
Yeah, Gujarat.
Another Indo-Chinese dish? This one's a Manchurian?
Manchurian dry.
Manchurian dry. So it's like a drier curry. That's why it's called dry.
I love the flavor. That's a masala jeera?
Yeah.
Yeah, masala jeera.
It's a jeera soda from India?
Yeah.
I'm not into sodas, but I'll try everything. Okay. That's strange. It's like a masala bubbly soda.
I'm going to need something to get rid of that taste.
Not Coca-Cola?
No, no.
Oh, what else you got here?
This is in-house. We make it.
It's a dry fruit lassi.
Dry fruit lassi?
Yeah.
And it's the mango lassi?
Mango lassi.
Gotta shake that lassi. Oh, it's nice and thick.
There's chunks in there. What is that? Like nuts?
Nuts, yeah.
Cashew, almond, saffron.
Yeah, this is very, it's like thick, but it's nutty, creamy. Wow.
This is great to like cut all the heat, especially in India where it's like boiling hot.
Amazing. To go? I'll take four, please.
Yeah, why not? We give you eight. Don't worry.
What is this right here?
This is a curd.
That's curd?
Yeah, yogurt. We make it dry fruit, mango, both of them here.
So that's how we start making this lassi that I'm drinking right here.
Yeah, yeah. We fill it up with that.
Oh, this is thick. Look at that, look at that.
Oh my gosh, you could like, it feels like I'm having a ripe mango.
Yeah.
I do like the thickness. It feels very like Punjabi style.
In Punjab, you know, it's very thick. Everywhere else, they water it down.
I prefer this one.
Yeah, that's a book.
What is this?
That's a padam shake.
Padam shake?
Yeah.
Drink. And then over here is like a chocolate.
Chocolate. Cold cocoa.
Cold cocoa.
That's amazing. I shouldn't have too much of this. It's almost like fondue of chocolate.
Yeah.
That's so good.
Mmm, the almonds. It's almond milk.
Yeah.
You guys are filling me up on drinks.
So what is your favorite thing on the menu?
Me?
Yeah.
I guess that's what we're trying next. Let's go try the vada pav.
That's the vada pav right there.
Yeah, that's the vada pav.
Oh wow, that smells amazing. And over here, she's making some pani puri.
So what are you adding here?
Coriander, special masala for masala fry vada pav. There's some oil one.
Feel like a bit spicy.
Spicy over here.
See, it's like a burger bun.
Yeah, that's a burger bun. It's toasted on the masalas in and out.
And this is a special potato puri.
We also serve this one in the leaf plate. We cut it down.
That's a special masala on the top.
Wow.
And that's with the sweet chutneys. Spicy. And the other spice.
When I saw this being done in Mumbai, they had a huge tomato paste.
And then they wrap it over everything.
You did something similar. You added everything on top of the bun.
And then he has a few different chutneys. So I guess like a tamarind.
That's like a mint. And this is like a spicy one.
That's a spicy.
So that's spicy.
Coriander and chili.
Okay.
And there's a garlic and chili.
Wow, look, it's soaked up that.
So this is the chili. Wow, this is beautiful.
This is a true Indian burger.
Oh man, it's so soft.
It's like mushy.
Oh man, the nuts on top, the spice.
It's fantastic.
On point, isn't it?
On point.
Yeah.
On point.
It's been a while since I've had like a bada pav.
This is incredible, actually.
Thank you, brother.
It's delicious.
Wow.
And then over here, we have the garlic chutney.
That's the garlic chutney.
Bro, this is nostalgia for me.
I told you, you'll love it.
It took me right back to India, man.
First time I was in India, 2018.
Changed my life.
Is it?
Yeah.
Whereabouts?
There's nowhere else where you eat this good.
Nowhere else.
Where is the food there?
Food you'll find there.
Bro.
Thank you.
So good, this bada pav.
This is like the Indian patty to make it?
Yeah.
Look, so it's got the aloo inside.
They'll make it for you then now, yeah.
And is this something you guys made here, like invented here?
Everything we make it here, everything.
But you invented this here, because bada pav is a thing.
It's almost like a mixed chat inside a pie.
That's the very Indian thing.
It's almost like a chat.
You like cheese on it.
Okay.
Yeah.
He's adding some cheese.
So this is like if Jamaica, India and Great Britain had a baby.
Right?
No, this is something more.
Oh, something more.
Why'd you do that to me?
I know, I know.
That's a sweet chili on the top.
Sweet chili.
So is this like a savory dessert?
Something like that?
There's a special top masala on it.
Never seen this before.
There's a special puff.
Special puff?
Yeah.
How do you even grab this thing?
You know, that's the hard thing with Indian cuisine.
Sometimes it's like, where do I go here?
Look at the inside here.
I have no idea what this is going to taste like.
A chat.
It's so hard to explain this because there's so many things in here.
Yeah.
It's very nutty.
Got the aloo in there.
Mayonnaise.
It's unique.
It's different.
I mean, it's falling apart though.
It is like a party.
Flaky.
Now that's what you call an Indian sandwich.
Yeah, Indian sandwich.
What's in that?
Paneer tikka one and Bombay sandwich as well.
Both of them.
It's daipuri, no?
Yeah, daipuri.
I love bel puri, daipuri, pani puri.
My God, they're all good.
Oh, wow.
All right.
So this is what we call a floating pani puri.
Yeah.
Like when the plate is overloaded with the pani.
You should try the sweet one.
The sweet one?
Spicy puri.
Yeah?
Yeah.
Bro, you're floating it though.
Look at this.
Oh my gosh.
This is why I'm saying it's floating.
Here we go.
So this is a small puff ball, sometimes made from rice,
sometimes made from some other flour.
They punch a hole in it.
They fill it with some aloo, the stuffing.
Then they add the pani, which is the water, spiced water.
Oh, it was amazing that we're in the UK, in London, eating like this.
That's why I bring you here in Wembley.
Because the Indian vibe?
Most of them are international students.
And they usually say that whenever they feel like they're missing their home.
So for Wembley, it feels like home.
Even if you are miles away from your own home.
We're making a disaster here.
Sorry.
Oh, no.
I'm feeling a lot of heat.
Big fail.
That was amazing.
Wow.
I told them I was done, but they wanted me to try their beautiful dahi puri.
So this is a yogurt puri.
It's actually more refreshing.
It's colder.
It's dry.
There's no...
Oh, no, there is.
I got some chutney in the bottom.
Panipuri is classic.
This is amazing.
The yogurt, the crunch.
Cold.
Cheers, mate.
Cheers.
I'm lost for words.
So this one, it's a mix of crunch, spice, and also that yogurt.
Oh, man.
You guys stuffed me, man.
Thank you so much.
Vada pav, panipuri, dahi puri.
I don't even know what else I had in there.
Some lassies.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Nice meeting you.
Awesome.
Bye, guys.
Bye.
You ready, bro?
Yeah.
Now we are going to GJ5.
So basically, I'm a vegetarian food blogger.
But I got a lot of recommendations.
Whenever I post a reel, I get comments like,
must visit GJ5 for egg dishes.
So I haven't tried it.
But I've heard of amazing, amazing.
Like people say it's the best.
So let's see.
So I know in Gujarat, there's a city called Surat.
Yeah.
And they're like famous for their egg dishes.
So GJ5 is same like that.
Same concept.
Got it.
But I love this trip.
It's a huge mix of in terms of like clothing shops.
You have some restaurants, electronics shops.
This one has like for kids and toys.
What temple is that?
It's Wembley Temple.
It's like Shri Ram Temple.
I don't know.
I don't remember the name.
But it's like Shri Ram Temple.
OK.
And I'm going to show you something really amazing as well.
So just come.
Let's go.
Oh, Ney, look.
Mandir.
This is what I wanted to show you.
You might have seen in India, we have cultural diversity,
religious diversity.
We have Mandir here.
Right in front of Mandir, we have church.
Just two minutes walk from here, we have a Masjid as well.
They all live together happily in Wembley, just like India.
Incredible.
So church over there.
We have mosque over there.
And then over here, we have a Hindu temple, Mandir.
Which this Mandir is dedicated to a certain god or no?
I know sometimes you're dedicated to...
Lord Rama.
Yeah.
It's actually mixed like...
What's incredible is like looking here.
If I didn't look that way, I would think I'm in India.
Right?
The structure.
Indian style architecture.
Yeah, very cultural.
I love all the intricate designs on these columns.
Beautiful, man.
For me, what this reminds me of is like Rajasthan, the colors.
You know, it's like that very vibrant sand color, sandstone.
Yeah, it's really nice actually.
Look at the architecture.
It's like more like India.
Feel like they did everything with perfection.
Inside view is way more beautiful than this.
But we can't go inside, so...
What days do people go in a temple?
Yeah.
I think even today as well.
But the entrance is from that side.
So they don't open this main entrance.
But do they go every day?
Or it's like Sunday or Saturday?
Or like a certain day?
It's every day.
Any day one.
Mostly people, because nowadays it's Navratris,
mostly people prefer to go during Navratris.
So in the evening, there might be a queue going inside.
Got it, got it, got it.
More food coming right up.
But you speak a language I've never heard of.
I speak Dogri.
What's Dogri?
If I have to say like, David, you're most welcome.
So I would say like,
It's like, how are you?
Are you good?
Did you have your lunch and everything?
So it's like that.
Is it very similar to Hindi or no?
Yeah, it is.
It's similar to Hindi, Punjabi.
But it's different.
There's a difference, obviously.
Yeah, because these are different languages.
Obviously, in some parts of the world, you have different dialects.
But in India, it's like every state has its own language.
Every city, actually.
We have more than a thousand languages in India.
Yeah, so when I say I'm polyglot, it's a joke.
Because everybody in India is a polyglot.
Yeah.
You speak how many languages?
We have more than...
No, you speak...
Me, me.
I speak more than six, seven languages.
So French is not...
Don't cry.
You got a while, David.
Let's go straight in here.
Hey, guys, how are you doing?
So what do we have here?
Oh, man, this is Surat food.
Look at that.
Surat Noor Jaman.
Gujarat's food capital.
So Surat is the food capital of Gujarat.
Yeah, hello.
How are you?
David, pleasure.
Nice to meet you.
Yeah, nice to meet you.
So what are we doing here today?
Me, I'm just preparing our egg franking.
Eggs?
Yeah, egg franking.
What are you making?
So what is in it?
That's pink onion, green chili paste.
Yes.
That is salt.
It's all turmeric.
Yeah, turmeric.
And it's a powder.
Yeah, it's a Himalayan powder.
It's an oil.
See, that's the hardest thing for me with Indian food,
is describing taste.
Because you have so many flavors because of all the different spices.
Yeah, it's spicy.
Woo, look at the egg.
Omelet.
It's almost like a vegetable roast right there.
Can I drop an egg?
Looks like a spicy omelet.
Yeah, it's a spicy.
This one's spicy.
Yeah, it's a GJ spice special dish.
And are you from Surat?
Yeah, I'm from Surat.
I'm from India.
Is everybody here from Gujarat?
Yeah, yeah, everybody Gujarat.
So again, heavy Gujarat influence here in Wembley.
Yeah.
Wow.
This looks so good.
Spicy omelets.
Yeah.
Better than huevo francheros?
You let me know in the comments below.
On top?
Yeah, yeah.
This one, three layers.
Gonna break more eggs?
So this is like a three-layer egg dish.
First he had...
Four layers.
Four layers, okay.
So first it's the egg, so like basically an omelet on the bottom.
Then a scrambled egg, like masala.
Masala, including all the masalas.
This one, creamy and cheesy.
Creamy and cheesy.
So what he did is he cut up the hard-boiled egg,
and now he added cream, and he's gonna add cheese?
Cheese, yeah.
When I went to Ahmedabad, I remember I went to a place
where it's all street food vendors making all veg dishes,
and this is how they do it.
Like you mix in that cheese, you make the sandwiches.
Same thing on top.
I don't know, with this many layers, what does it taste?
So right here he's making the gravy,
and what he did is he grabbed the yolk, hard-boiled egg yolk,
and then he smashed it, mixed it, added water,
and he's making this beautiful like liquidy gravy.
Yeah.
That is the eggiest dish I've ever seen.
Yeah, it's a tadka after this is complete.
I mean, he just crushed the dried chilies,
mixed it in there with a few different ingredients.
Now it's becoming like a paste.
It's seeds.
Yeah, seeds.
It's all seeds.
And then he's gonna put this on top?
Yeah, it's a final tadka.
Wow.
Yeah.
Spicy, huh?
Yeah, it's spicy.
Think so?
Yeah.
So Ansh, how do I eat this?
I've never tried, but I would say just break a piece of this pav.
Okay.
And just put it on and try.
So get some of this.
This is like a hot dog bun.
You get a piece.
So you grab this, then we go in here.
We've got a spoon and we break up.
This is so many eggs, bro.
A lot of cheese as well.
When you go to Gujarat, you'll see cheese on everything.
And is that because it's veg?
I think that's because it's purely veg culture.
But there are so many states with vegetarian food,
but especially Gujarat, they eat a lot of cheese.
Here we go.
Definitely full of egg.
There's like 18 layers of egg here.
Oh, wow.
Is it spicy?
Yeah.
But this paired with the bread, it's a perfect combo.
It's like a little sandwich.
You eat it just regular like this?
Eight eggs.
Eight eggs in one.
Yeah.
When I was in Jersey City, some Gujaratis there as well, heavy on the eggs.
I guess it's just a Surat thing, right?
Yeah.
Anywhere where there's Surat people, they're going for the egg dishes.
Look how many dishes of egg right there.
Specialty items, there's like 25 egg dishes.
Yeah.
And then it says how many eggs are in each dish.
It's like a minimum of four eggs.
So many options in here.
This destroys eggs Ranjero.
Sorry, Mexico.
There's two cities in India that everybody's been recommending for food.
Surat, right, in Gujarat, and then Indore.
I heard it's amazing.
It's a night street and full of food and stuff.
But it's one of the best food cities in all of India is Indore.
One of the best actually.
One of the best.
You guys let us know in the comments, is that true or not?
I'm going.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you so much.
Surat to the world.
Yeah.
Next time.
We still have a few more spots, follow us.
I'm exploring Wembley.
Where are you from?
Do you have to ask?
No, man.
I don't know.
Aruba.
Aruba and Trinidad.
And Trinidad.
Oh, okay, okay.
Awesome.
Yes.
I love that he's like, you have to ask, but then he's like Aruba.
Yeah, I was like, whoa, I would never guess that.
But shout out to Trinidad.
This is one of my favorite things about India is on the side of the road,
you have coconut vendors here.
Similar situation.
They also have sugar cane over here.
They have the extractor for the sugar cane.
And over here, we have the coconut.
Hello.
How are you?
Hello.
Hi.
So you're gonna cut some coconuts for us?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Oh, my God.
Ice cold.
They just told me these coconuts come directly from Costa Rica.
Oh, so fresh.
Cold.
Sweet.
For a lot of these people, this is like nostalgia, you know,
takes you literally back to where you come from.
You want to get a coconut on the streets.
It doesn't exist anymore.
I'm saying cool because there's a lot of wind as well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, it's sunny, but they got the wind chill.
It's actually really, really cold right now.
Are you Gujarati?
Yeah, Gujarati.
Yeah?
Very strong Gujarati woman.
Thank you.
So basically, this shop is very well known.
It's run completely by women.
Wow.
It's the best taste you'll get in the whole Vimla area.
It has all the street food, typically Mumbai,
and also pani puri, bhel, ragda and all.
So you have like the best street food.
Amazing, man.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for letting us know.
No, no, no, it's good.
It's good.
So I'm going to try some of that jelly.
This is how it goes, guys.
First drink it, then you eat the jelly.
Oh, yeah.
Nostalgia right here.
It's like incredible that we're in the middle of it.
What's happening here?
Cane juice.
This is true cane juice.
Remember, I've seen it like all over Caribbean,
but in India, they make it better.
And you put like lime in between it, right?
Even better.
Oh, that's so refreshing.
Sweet, super sweet.
Oh, this is like all the energy I need today right here.
Forget Red Bull, sugar cane.
Well, thank you so much.
Thank you.
This is great.
I love this.
Super colorful.
So it's called Rek Di Pani Puri.
So it's endless Pani Puri here.
What does Rek Di mean?
Indian street food, like Ladi.
Oh, that's what Rek Di means?
Yeah, this one, this one.
So it means street food in Gujarati, Rek Di.
When you visit Wembley,
you're going to get off right here at Wembley Central Station.
You make a left, you have Eerling Road.
This is Wembley High Road.
And then you were saying that that side is way more Indian.
Indian street food and stuff like saris
and whatever you want to visit and wherever you want to visit.
On Eerling, got it.
And so over here we have another street food spot.
I think it says Mumbai spot.
You know what?
I heard you were saying that I'm missing Mumbai.
So I'm going to take David to Mumbai in just a few minutes.
So we got maybe, maybe some momos.
Hello, some spicy momos.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I say you should try Bombay sandwich.
The Bombay sandwich is really nice.
Bombay sandwich.
So is the paneer?
Yeah.
So right here we have the paneer.
That is cottage cheese, Indian style.
They fried it.
I was going to put some onions, some bell pepper as well.
And that's going into the wok.
No chili paneer without the wok.
Yes.
The wok is like a must.
And where are you from?
Actually, I'm from Nepal.
From Nepal?
Nepal, yeah.
Okay, so you are like truly in the middle of that Indo-Chinese mix.
Yes.
Right?
So he's getting some garlic.
Ginger, sorry?
Ginger and garlic, both.
The aroma popping out of there right now.
Wow, the garlic mixes the...
Woo!
But that was like spicy, right?
Chilies!
This is the ultimate chili dish.
Chili paneer.
He's making this incredible like roast on the bottom.
Wow, it really thickens it.
Now he added the paneer.
It's amazing.
So when I went to Mumbai, I tried this on the beach.
Yeah, man.
This on Yuhu beach, I couldn't believe it.
I was blown away.
I was like, chili paneer, how is it?
So good.
And it's spicy.
Better than Mumbai.
Way better.
Oh yeah, man.
It's like an amazing paste.
It is spicy.
It is, yes.
Wow.
So the paneer, obviously it was fried.
But the inside is still very soft.
Bell pepper, the onion.
Yeah.
We also do something called as a chili chicken.
Like if someone prefers chicken instead of paneer.
Paneer is a vegetarian option.
And chicken, like if someone likes chicken, then it's exactly the same stuff.
Probably chicken.
Wow.
When did you go to Mumbai then?
Many years ago.
I'm going back this year though.
Yeah?
Yeah, I'm going to Bollywood.
Shah Rukh Khan, hit me up.
We're collabing.
Collab, baby, come on.
Yeah, so right here we have Thumbs Up.
This is the direct competition.
We could call it.
It is a bit more fizzier, a bit more spicy.
Yeah, it's better than Coke.
It goes perfectly with the Indo-Chinese food.
I mean, it is like a, I don't know if it's like a spiced Coca-Cola.
Is that what it is?
It is definitely, it is slightly fizzier.
I mean, I won't lie to you.
I don't really drink sodas, but this is pretty good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I know, I know.
You guys like your sodas in India.
We, even in our store actually, we sell this more as compared to Coca-Cola.
Definitely, yeah.
What are you making here?
Mumbai style toast sandwich.
This toast sandwich is very specific to streets in Mumbai.
Lots of people come from various parts of India to try this Mumbai style toast sandwich.
The first ingredient is just bread butter.
And then it's got some green chutney which comes on it,
which is made with coriander and green chilies.
Followed by some spicy potato stuffing with some vegetables and then some cheese.
And the cheese basically blends everything perfectly together to give it a right flavor.
And where are you from?
Gujarat.
Ahmedabad?
No, no, Vadodara.
Vadodara?
Vadodara is one hour away from Ahmedabad, yeah.
What's it famous for?
Suicide.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah.
And let me ask you, so you've been in London for a long time?
No, it's just been almost a year.
Almost a year?
Yeah.
And so what's one thing that you love about this place?
Amazing weather.
Yeah, you think it's amazing?
Because I come from the Gujarat, it's too hot.
And here, I like winter, yeah.
Oh, here's our sandwich.
Again, it's vegetarian, so production for vegetarians.
You're funny, bro.
So this is basically called Mumbai style toast sandwich.
It's pretty special for a restaurant.
And it's just made with some bread butter, some coriander chutney,
potato stuffing, some vegetables and cheese.
And it's always served with a side of three dips, basically.
This is a garlic dip, which is a little bit spicy, a little bit tangy.
This is a coriander chutney, just made with coriander and green chili.
And this is ketchup, if you just like a little bit of sweetness in your sandwich.
This is the ultimate veg sandwich.
Yes.
Oh, still super hot.
It's falling apart.
I like how it's like...
Yes, and it's made all nice and fresh.
It's not from the fridge or anything like that.
It's all made to order and it's all fresh, made for every order.
I like how it's pressed, super hot still.
The love of stuffing.
Yes.
So much flavor in here.
And you've got three different sauces.
That one looks like almost like a ketchup.
Yeah, it is ketchup.
So this is how it's served in Mumbai as well.
People like a little bit of sweet, a little bit of garlic, a little bit of coriander.
You get like three different flavors with already all the flavors of the sandwich as well.
That was good.
Hey, thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
Glad to have you over.
Thank you so much for your time.
Best chili paneer in London.
Brilliant.
You guys let me know.
Cheers.
What do you think?
Thank you.
My wife knows best.
Mumbai in minutes.
Another spot, 100% veg, Vrindavan Vatika.
Vrindavan Vatika.
And there's a lot of vegetarian dishes, Gujarati dishes, a lot of stuff inside.
Let's just get inside first.
Let's go, let's go.
Mr. Shah.
Yes.
David, pleasure.
Nice to meet you.
How are you?
So you've had this restaurant for 40 years?
No, this restaurant, we're having it since two years.
We are in this premises since 40 years.
Okay, so this is a newer restaurant, but you've been in the area for 40 years?
Yes, yeah.
And you do 100% veg?
100% veg, yes.
And are you Gujarati?
Gujarati, yes.
And what do you do in terms of food, just pure veg?
Yeah, pure veg, we are doing it.
Many varieties we are doing from north, south and Gujarat.
It's our main food.
And tell me something about Wembley that outsiders should know.
In 1971, since it's established very nicely over here,
because all from Uganda, people will migrant over here.
And this area has been established since 1971 very nicely.
Many Indian came over here and been settled.
So fantastic, yeah.
And everything was empty.
You can go 40 miles per hour over here.
Before?
No, no parking restriction, nothing.
And it was fantastic.
So how has it changed?
Definitely, it's become very nice development.
It goes surrounding also.
Now big tower, it is coming up.
So it's more people, it's coming to settle in Wembley.
How are you?
Very good.
Ready to make this dish.
So what did you add there?
Mustard seeds.
Then we add some sesame seeds here.
Coriander.
Dried curry leaves.
Wow.
Lots of sesame seeds, lots of coriander.
It actually looks like one of those Manchurian dishes.
No, it's not Manchurian.
No, I know, it looks similar though.
Especially making it on the walk, you know.
And where are you from?
I'm from Diu, Diu.
Yeah, Diu, India.
Oh, wow.
In Diu, we have something on sizzler plate.
Oh, yeah?
Woo.
Serve it on the sizzler.
Using cabbage and curry a little bit for this, so it will not burn.
Got it.
Garnish with some sesame seeds.
Wow, yeah.
A little bit of coriander.
And some chaat masala.
Here's patta sizzler.
Oh, it smells so good.
If you want more smoke, I'll do it.
A smoke?
Oh, he's going to add the butter for the small smoke.
This is the patta sizzler.
This one we're definitely using a fork and a knife.
Here, let's try it.
And it's all veg.
I think it's going to be hot.
I think it's going to be hot too.
Cheers.
Look at my bite and his.
Yeah, mine's a little bigger.
Smoky and it's nice.
But I can't, I feel like something different.
I haven't tried this.
Me neither.
So what exactly is that though?
This thing, it almost reminds me of a tofu.
Yeah.
It's definitely like a veg.
It's all veg.
It's amazing.
There's the onions in there.
It's smoky.
It's a very light dish.
There's no sauces.
Very smoky as well.
Bit crispy texture.
And what's this?
Oh my gosh.
So that is like a samosa that has been covered with sev.
It's got some peanuts in there.
This looks like a tamarind chutney.
So sweet chutney, masala peanuts.
Here we go.
Let's cut one in half.
Okay, so let's try it.
Yeah, this is the thing about India.
You guys get so creative.
It can be like a samosa, just regular meat pie.
But then, or potato pie.
And then bam, they just throw things on top.
Cheers.
Amazing.
Exactly like a samosa, potato samosa.
But with so many toppings on top.
Nutty, crunchy.
Love the sev.
Mixture of spices, a bit spicy, tangy.
The overall experience is, I loved it.
I love it too.
But you know what makes this dish is really that sauce, that sweet sauce.
Yeah.
Tamarind, it's like going back to India.
Where should I go next in India?
