Hello crafters let's make some fairy resin earrings on Sophia the Hobbit crafter.
All right for supplies we're gonna need some cool little fairy stickers.
I got these nail art stickers I think off Amazon or Teemu
and then I have some iridescent flakes that I think I got off Amazon.
I don't know sometimes I cut up my own.
All right I got my wooden bezel that I made myself with my laser cutter
and then this kind of came off as an extra so I added a circle to it.
We've got some hardware, a silicone cup, some uv resin,
some resin tape, a dryer thing, and my silicone tools and we're ready to start.
First I'm going to cut the resin tape.
Then I'm going to sand the burn marks off of the earring and put them nice and snug onto the tape.
And I learned from my friend Calico Unicorn that you can turn this over
and kind of push down and give it an extra you know less leakage ability.
All right let's start with our filling I guess.
We're gonna put some resin and the flakes into a cup and I'm just gonna mix it together.
I love the look of the iridescent flakes in clear resin.
I just cannot get over it.
I think I'm a little obsessed with it.
Plus I have had so many compliments on my earrings
where I put like mica powder underneath and then the flakes on top
and people are just like wow it changes color and I'm like I know it's so beautiful.
Okay now we're gonna pour the resin into our mold.
Now I did heat this up I guess I didn't record it but
this is kind of warm resin to get the bubbles out.
I just kind of push it in there with my little silicone tool
and now I'm going to rearrange it so it's flat
because we're going to be putting a sticker on this once it's cured.
And that looks pretty flat.
I'm going to heat it up again just to get the bubbles out and hit it with some UV light.
Now it's time to de-tape it.
This looks so pretty.
The cool thing about this is I could use either side.
I could use the side that's on the tape or I could use the side that um I guess was up.
All right now we're gonna have to figure out which sticker I want to use
and this one I think is the winner.
This is a tip.
I buy nail sheets in sets of two.
I never buy one anymore.
I always make sure there's at least two.
Some of them come with three or four
but this way I'll always have you know a matching pair for the earrings.
Another cool thing about nail art stickers is they tend to like flip on the page
so I don't actually need two sheets sometimes.
They just have the same exact design flipped you know for the fingers.
All right we just stick them on there and it looks amazing.
This would look really cute on a ring.
Okay now we're going to cover the sticker with some UV
and I just put it on there and I'm going to spread it around.
Try not to get into the little hole and cure it with some UV.
All right now this is for the posts.
So I'm going to kind of make the top just covered with resin.
I really like that wood green look and it matches the other part of the earring here
so we're just going to make it stronger by making it more resiny.
And then this is the back so I can add the posts.
I'm also going to kind of go over the back of the earring with some more resin
and add the posts with some resin.
There's lots of ways to attach earrings.
This is my favorite way.
All right I'm going to spread it around and then cure it with UV.
Okay my favorite part adding the the hardware.
Just kidding it's not my favorite part but you know it's got to be done.
All right so I just take a jump ring, I open it,
I add the earring parts to it and then I close it.
I have been told by some of my professional jewelry making friends
that there are better ways to put jump rings on
but you know what I just I keep going back to this method.
I don't know it seems easy for me.
Oh my gosh this looks so freaking cute I love it.
Look at the little fairy it's like she's trapped in there.
I don't know if that's cute but I like it.
Like little fairies trapped in glitter bubble earrings.
I love the little fairies sitting on top of the glitter inside of a wooden earring.
This is so beautiful.
I also really am glad I used this sticker because I was debating between the other one
and this one is perfect.
I love it.
Are you trapped in there little fairy?
I'm so sorry.
Needless to say I'm very happy with how these turned out
and uh it's I'm thinking of any sticker I have going in that circle really.
But I was really wanting to to do some fairies
and I finally was like I just I love these stickers so much.
I can't wait to put them in an earring and here we go.
We've got them on our card.
Here's our last look.
They're beautiful.
The white actually really makes that sparkle pop
and um yeah very proud of these.
I think these turn out perfect.
I actually don't really see any flaws on them either.
Um no bubbles maybe tiny ones.
I don't know.
I can't tell.
I just the sparkles are distracting me.
Okay and that's it.
Thank you so much for watching.
Let me know if you have any questions in the comments.
