At the Northern Fine Art Department, our students do more than just excel in their studies.
They actively contribute to school life in countless ways. From painting the cafeteria
mural and creating Chinese New Year decorations to hosting events, joining various school clubs,
and designing activity posters, contributing to yearbook design, their creativity is everywhere.
To enrich their experiences, we also offer volunteering opportunities,
community events, and hands-on projects. Every afternoon after a long day of classes,
students step into our cozy little studio, a place where they can slow down, get creative,
and enjoy the process of drawing. They sketch, learn, and grow together, develop their skills,
and build lasting memories until they graduate, carrying their artistic dreams into the future.
I like the way we learn in our class. You know, you pick, you learn from the very basics,
and you move on when you're comfortable, and the teacher says, oh, you've improved,
so move on to the next level. But I like it that we can explore our interests within art.
We can draw stuff we like, and we don't, you know, we can't say, oh, this is too challenging,
maybe I want to step up. And the teachers listen to our concern, they take it into consideration,
and also, like, help us to improve so we become better at art. Consistency, because when I keep
constantly doing the pencil, I can actually get good at it, and I can see the improvement
if I just keep doing it over and over again. I feel like it will help me in my career later
if I do something from the beginning which relates to art, or drawing, or, like, learning how to do
perspective, and, like, texture, and I just feel like it would help me in the career path that I
want to choose for myself later on. I started at drawing, like, very young age, maybe in the
kindergarten, and I really like it, yeah. I can have some, like, very, very wonderful moments with
new things that we don't know. That's super fun.
Our amazing art teachers play a big role in shaping the school's art education,
teaching painting, crafts, and leading after-school programs. We may be small, but we are growing.
From just one open area to a classroom, then into a studio, and now two small studios,
our journey has been amazing. Looking ahead, we want to do even more. Through fundraising,
local events, art trips, and future business opportunities,
we are seeking more space and creating new possibilities.
Our goal is to make our students' lives richer, more vibrant, and truly unforgettable
for our students in this classic artistic environment and foundation base.
