Many thanks once again to the school It feels well
In some parts of it it feels like school
That's what matters most about perennials
I haven't actually done anything further here
See you in the next video after a brief read
That's fine since I'm involved with this school a bit more seriously
I have lots of different things to do with them today
The notable thing is advancing the priorities forward
One of the best things you can do for pollinators
That's a wonderful activity
They're certainly sure but in reality it's difficult
Hope to get any photos of the bees since they're so busy
Felly happy holidays Also it's an incredible day
Felly this is my hat I'm not the type of perso
Thank you Sam I’m wearing this hat to the Welsh Government event
ruth So well hopefully the hat but it's an impossible day
I've got lots to do so let's get started with the pollinators
And first on my way to the pollinators
here is information from the incredible bees
I've had extremely full access but
it's progressing incredibly slowly
I'm saying just look how fundamental
it is Look at that for a lot more
It's utterly impossible
and the word looks good and the weeks are passing by
It looks incredible and these wonderful kids
in Angelica and she's been
Anything surrounding them is impossible for pollinators
And the scene was utterly impossible
It was complete I could see children in the nation
Never mind the children I said I want Angelica
It's a small matter here truly
For the sake of the matter
Good news on the common front
like a plan it's working very well
It's going to start raining I think
we'll be able to get it to rain
Bumblebees prefer common flowers
and lately I'll ask him again
and then be able to bring it back
I'm fine with that
Tell me if you've done the same thing with your own
That was the first thing we've ever done at this institution
It's here but needs a bit of refinement
Otherwise I want this ready for tomatoes I know
what I mean
I'm going to grow tomatoes here again this year
Did I have any holidays or anything at all last year
Cherry tomatoes again this year
These grapes are coming back to life
Apricots are actually
quite good really
I had to get to that point
The biggest choice here was a broccoli bribe
He's dealing with a bank
loan It's a huge difference
It's been a long time since we last connected
It's very important
I've got other things too so I'm going
to leave some of the bigger items behind
I'll stick with the bank card option
and then I'm going shopping and browsing
Now if I can just get going
Here it is
I've received the bill
It's truly beautiful to see
So this is nothing but a simple foundation
I'm going to do a bit of selecting
but the basic choices here are
There's a lot going on right now and I don't want to add this to the choices
I'm going shopping and
browsing and this choice remains
Felly I'm going to
work quickly through the
entire selection making this ready
I think in the next
institution
after this one
I was going to say institution
the next institution
I'd actually be
Starting to plant the tomatoes here
that's good
since I want to do it
Yes that's my truth
made clear for
the day and it's very important
I'm going to start the entire selection
process in order to begin training it
otherwise I've been chosen a little
but due to all the organic matter
This will work a bit like choosing
I'm going to train it well
I started the tomatoes
Felly your most recent choice
art draws art
and the most suitable choice on the way that all organic matter
with all the organic
materials involved in these Therefore I'm going to choose
During the process of selecting the organic compound during the process of choosing these ones
a little green car which is currently outside and the green car is
The crops you can grow in your schools
You don't have to go out and fetch it but here's my next one
Education in this area I'm using it more and more permanently
You can see the queues continuing on ahead there
I'll make sure they remember those schools and it would be good
and dyma Sweet Sicily ac mae Sweet Sicily y
The hygge plant Oh well a little note I believe Sweet Meadow is going ahead so
I'm going to get that in and it's quite common indeed
Sweet Sicily oh well but that's exactly what we're doing
They're great and they work under the name Sweet
It's very common actually Here's one I'm making myself
He's out of the picture for now so after filming
I'm going to push the board so it's giving more energy to the board
I'm going to plant it here just a little for now
It works better in certain areas such as damp
proofing semi-dry walls and practical walls
This is extremely far-fetched but they're focusing on the core issue
Moving forward therefore it must be done properly
Alright I've taken a step forward moving forward here so
It would be good and you can feel that here
and they're taking a very big risk hoping that this time
a good match with the practical board and the fennel
On the stage it's like a poem There's a part of the problem here evidently
ope that some of you are enjoying this series
I hope the bumblebees are getting plenty of forage here
I'm going to bring it out I'm going to bring it out on the compass
oping they will get one of the boards
ectar or pollen where bees need it
I can get my hands on it
eep calm and carry on as much as we can get bac
And that's the period oh I've also had potato and cabbage there too
For little children isn't the system not the main part
That's why it's better to plan ahead and have plenty of basic food supplies on hand
This is a perennial plant native to the Asturian region commonly known as cabbage
You have no idea how much I had to do this is far beyond me
I got it for the power since it's very easy to drive for its power
I had it for the ability if I had much of that ability
It would live in any other year and be made and that's perfectly fine
and I'm going to connect with this I'm getting a bit of foundational use
I don't really need it if it's just for me I don't need any more cabbage from the Asturian town
There's more than enough cabbage and in fact I don't even need to drive to get more cabbage
I'm driving to the Asturian town of Cabbage so what I'm going to do here is
plant a few seeds in this bed so they can start coming in
I'm going to do it as a duo like this so what I'm going to do is ge
Looking at the face in front of me I think it's interesting how old he looks
I've got that for the house so I'll pick it up ahead of time here—I think this would be great
I've got some calendula or something similar I can offer just a little bit of this and that
and I'll make sure the plants get planted During the two-week period we can get started
o harvest these leaves which will be delicious Now with Asturian tree cabbage as it grows I ca
arvest the lower leaves which is somewhat like lateral pruning on a tree just to open up some space
a little light underneath just a bit of space I've got some extra calendula here—calendula is wonderful you know
can eat the leaves of calendula the flowers are also edible and I'm actually going to dot in one
wo three calendulas here and let them grow in and around the Asturian tree cabbage
en probably build on that and add something like coriander or even just a few
nigella seeds to introduce a few different visual elements just to make this less单调
a sea of green which you know is a very good color—green is my favorite oddly enoug
but I like other colors too The right side of my tradition has changed my mind so I'm actually
going to take this self-sown borage here and since I love the blue of borage I'm going
use this to take over the area where the other calendula was supposed to go and just place it
in like that so you'd end up with oranges blues and the very contrasting colors on the wheel
and the Asturian tree cabbage and that's why I'm really getting into right now—growing it is
about how I can just mix different things together and see how they grow there with no worries
about companion planting rules or anything like that if a plant wants to grow it wants to
grow—and it's a chance to get creative and design these little plantings these mini ecosystems
gardens—these mini scenes within your garden Next up is potatoes and I've got some saved
potatoes from my own sarfo mirrors from last year—I've just released a video actually about that
ow to be self-sufficient in potatoes and for those of you who already know this is like
my little allotment garden within our larger permaculture site and I've grown or I've
planted enough potatoes to be completely self-sufficient but I'd still like some here
I love potatoes—I'll never get bored of harvesting them and these here are leeks I'm
trying to see if I can make perennial actually you could just swing around you know
just a little bit here there's an example of leeks—just keeping them in taking them ou
flowers sending up new shoots—it's behaving a bit like Babington's leek so these are a
a few experiments I'm working on plus some self-sown nasturtiums as well
but I'm going to add some potatoes and keep this really simple
s a very fertile soil as you saw with the Asturian tree cabbage so what I'm thinking is to grow some
potatoes here to occupy this space and leave a bit of gap because I don't want to really disturb
Those Asturian tree cabbages are going to stay in the ground until at least next year maybe even longer
so since I'm harvesting these potatoes late I think something else could work quite nicely as well
I'll probably plant a squash in this bed and while those flowers finish up I'll let the
squash grow through and underneath the asturian tree cabbage letting it kind of flop
Plant them about 10 centimeters deep right on top of these potatoes
Really simple and I'll have a nice crop of spuds so this area is developing quite nicely
—there are lots of different perennial vegetables coming through like bulbous nettle
which has actually produced numerous bulbils and last night I potted up around 20 plants
From this small patch that's taken over and yes this is a type of sorrel called
abundance and it has a wonderful flavor—just nice to have this perennial corner
of food and the wonderful thing about perennials here is that I can't see any slug damage at all
also just a little tip based on slugs—slugs like to target weaker plants so if you do want to give
Your plants your transplants—giving them the best head start is exactly when hardening off I think is worth it
apart from that if you don't have slug problems hardening off isn't always necessary—I hardly ever do it myself
I'd do it if I were having major slug issues but given how well this self-
seeds and thrives I've actually ended up with loads of mashua growing wild
They're starting to sprout so I'm just going to plant them up here—this is where I had mashua last
The year that was also known as perennial nasturtium and I think the leaves are far more beautiful
there's something we've been selling at the nursery and we've just sold out—I'll be restocking
plants later this year so if you want them sign up for the newsletter—but I’ve been amazed
ow resilient it is like this—here I was just like a tuber left exposed on the soil's surface
All winter and they're all sprouting so I'd say I probably have around 20 plants here—I don't need any more
20 I want to make sure they're spaced more than a foot apart because they're so productive
otherwise they'll just out-compete each other so I've got a lot of these to pot up whic
links nicely into this video which shows you why having a polyculture and a messier
garden is actually one of the best things you can do to get really cool plants popping up
e following year
