Vietnam's foreign investment continues to gain strong momentum this year.
Could you walk us through the figures, Duy?
Absolutely, Tam Chang.
Well, dispersed FDI in the first 10 months reached 21.3 billion US dollars,
an 8.8% increase and the highest level for the same period in the past five years.
As Vietnam prioritized high-tech semiconductor and green zero emission investment,
more global manufacturers are expanding their operations in Bac Ninh,
one of the country's leading FDI destinations.
This shift is becoming increasingly visible.
Our reporter Vu Anh brings us the details.
Semiconductor manufacturing requires a large amount of water and electricity
and relies heavily on sensitive chemicals.
So for this foreign company,
building a dedicated wastewater treatment system is essential.
So at the facility right behind me here,
this system can handle over 1,500 cubic meters of water a day,
equal to the daily use of an entire residential neighborhood.
Attracting high-tech investment while ensuring strict environmental standards
is the direction that Bac Ninh Province applies
when evaluating and licensing foreign projects.
After nearly 10 years in Bac Ninh,
this foreign-invested manufacturer has continued rising capital to expand production.
Its investment in high-capacity wastewater treatment system
helps meet strict environmental requirements,
a crucial condition in semiconductor supply contracts.
The investment is significant.
The initial cost was around 750,000 US dollars,
and each year we allocate 150,000 US dollars for operation and monitoring.
In return, this enables us to meet the very high environmental standards
set by global customers.
The flow of foreign capital into green and sustainable high-tech sectors
has helped Bac Ninh emerge as a leading FDI destination.
Our investment environment is shaped by strong administrative reforms,
upgraded infrastructure, and close support for investors.
Many high-tech firms expanding here cite these improvements
as key reasons for choosing the province.
By taking care of existing investors,
we build the credibility that continues to attract new FDI partners.
Some businesses are now exploring these new policies.
Many Korean companies are showing strong interest
in investing in semiconductor design here.
The success of these pioneers will undoubtedly attract
a second and third wave of investors to Vietnam.
The sustained growth in both registered and disbursed high-quality FDI
is making a significant contribution to the economy's acceleration
as it enters the final months of 2025.
