First up today we have Club Expo. This year's Club Expo is in person.
It is an opportunity for students to advertise the clubs they have created
including basketball, ping pong, badminton, and many others.
Paintball club had a very quick sign up as it being one of the newest club
offerings. Remember students still have the
opportunity to make new clubs all year long.
Recently we had an ice cream social event in the cafeteria for middle and
Students enjoyed ice cream with a variety of toppings and I had a moment
to relax, chat, and enjoy the company of old and
new friends. We really feel that a class in ethics and
etiquette is important for young people because it's vitally
important not to just be good in terms of academics but to also know
how to conduct oneself in various social situations
and to know really deeply what's right and wrong and have the social
skills. Every grade goes over very fundamental
things such as greetings and introductions and handshaking
and dining but there are differences between the grades because the higher
grade you're in the deeper the skill level needs to be.
Well basically etiquette is all around us
and being aware of the situation that you're in
and being able to be alert and respond appropriately in that situation is a
challenge we all have to face so it's kind of like
knowing where you are especially if you're invited to a party
or you're invited to a special event to be able to handle it well but it's
happening all the time around us in school there's etiquette
being on the train there's etiquette being able to
meet your friend's parents there are etiquette so it's everywhere.
We learned of the story of the United States
National Anthem written during the war of 1812
and its relationship to the nation's flag.
We learned why the American people honor and respect
this symbol. The flag is so important as its history tells the story of
America itself. It represents the freedom
dignity and true meaning of being an American
and the American spirit. It is our nation's highest
symbol. On September 23rd the Northern National Honor Society held a
Niku, Cho, Nora, Justin, and Jackie. During the ceremony Mr. Carl, Mrs.
Cortezing, Mr. Liu, and Mrs. Patel lit four candles
that represent the four Honor Society character pillars
of honesty, reliability, courtesy, and respect.
The next day the entire Honor Society supported and ran the ice cream social
for the school. They expressed the true values and
fellowship through their actions. We couldn't be more proud of you.
Congratulations and good luck to a new year.
