Well, good evening everyone.
My name is Trent and I live, travel, and game out of the back of my camper van.
And I'm officially back from my van life travels over in Iceland.
If you didn't watch that series, you can watch it here.
It's a really good one.
But I am finally back in the States, back in the gaming camper van, and I couldn't be
more excited.
I have missed this van so much.
You guys have no idea.
And I know you guys have too.
It's been a while, but it really does feel good to be back home.
There's no place as cozy as this.
But on tonight's van life camping adventures, I am camping in the Pisgah National Forest
here in North Carolina.
And the sun has officially set and the forest is looking spooky.
There is not a soul around.
It is quiet and it looks like it's starting to rain here.
But as beautiful as these mountains are up here, they are quite creepy when you're camping
in them alone.
And you guys know how much I love that stuff.
I'm a big fan of the horror genre and getting scared.
I don't know what it is.
It's just fun.
It kind of just makes me feel alive.
So whenever I'm in places like this that's kind of creepy outside, I love booting up
a good horror game on my gaming PC.
I mean, after all, that's why I put this thing in this van in the first place.
So later tonight, after I whip up this dinner, I'm going to get cozy, play a horror game,
and I think it's going to be a pretty awesome night.
All right, everyone.
Dinner is served.
And oh, it smells amazing.
Tonight instead of chicken breast, I went with chicken thigh for the extra fatty flavor.
And I drizzled some sriracha on top.
And let me tell you, I am excited.
Love me some chicken and rice with sriracha.
But guys, as you can tell, I've got the standing desk going.
And this has been a life changer, being able to stand up and be at my desk.
The best thing I put in this van, for sure, which, by the way, guys, if you're new to
my channel, I do have a series of videos where I showcase me and my brother building out
this van.
If you guys want to watch that, the playlist is right here.
I'm looking at my limited amount of horror game downloads on this PC.
And I did actually just recently download a couple spooky games.
They're all indie games, nothing AAA, of course.
I love the indie games.
Those are sometimes scarier.
And I found this game called Dread Flats.
It's a first-person Chinese horror game.
Players will go to a murder building, uncover the truth of the murder, and find the missing
people.
It's got pretty good reviews.
So I think I'm going to play that tonight.
It looks like it's got some pretty good jump scares and spooky monsters.
Oh, that's spooky looking.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
This looks like a creepy freaking game.
Yeah.
Definitely going to play that.
All right.
Dinner was absolutely scrumptious.
I'm feeling good.
And the van is all cleaned up.
Did all the dishes.
So all my chores are done.
Now it's time to start setting up to play this spooky game.
I'm going to set up a camera here.
Set up my recording software and everything, which, by the way, I am going to be recording
this whole playthrough and putting it on my second channel, which is my gaming channel.
I have tons of horror game playthroughs on that channel if you guys are fans of that
sort of thing.
You might like what I do over there because, you know, I do exactly this.
I just game in the back of my van.
And it's a blast over there.
So link in the description.
But yeah, I'll be recording this playthrough experience and posting it there.
But I'll include a highlight reel in this video just so you guys can see what it's about.
But I think it's time to set up and get spooky.
All right.
I think I'm all set up.
And this is way overly complicated.
I'm a little stubborn and I refuse to record on a webcam.
So I use my mirrorless camera on a tripod that's on top of my PC, which I know is a
little ridiculous.
But hey, it works.
And then, of course, the 49-inch ultra-wide monitor from ROG.
This thing, I love it so much.
But I will say, whenever I want to record playthroughs for YouTube, because I have to
record in a certain aspect ratio, I have to make my games 16x9, 1920x1080, so they res
outright on YouTube.
So I've got all this empty space on the screen.
But it works out because I can have OBS off to the side here and monitor my recording
and everything.
But guys, this is the setup for the rest of the night.
Pretty cozy, if you ask me.
And it's time to get spooky.
But first, let's go outside.
Make sure the coast is clear.
Oh, it is eerie out here.
And the temperature is dropping quite a bit.
And this, my friends, is camp for the night.
And also the gaming location for tonight.
In this very dark, creepy forest.
I love nights like this.
But guys, for the rest of the evening, I am going to cozy on up in the van and get scared
out of my mind.
I get the feeling this game is going to be real spooky, so I'm going to get to gaming,
and I will see you guys later this evening when I crawl into that bed and go to sleep.
I'm the host of a paranormal channel.
I've stayed and filmed in countless haunted places.
This time, a fan paid me to film at an apartment building, a place where people vanished without
a trace.
Easy enough.
I could do that.
If I'm a paranormal investigator, I've seen some crazy stuff, right?
Staying in an apartment building where people disappeared?
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
This looks like the way to get inside, yeah?
Let's see what's in here.
Another bedroom.
Oh, a key.
Whoa, what the freak is that?
Who is she?
I'm guessing the, uh, old lady.
The old lady is the reason why everybody vanished, yeah?
What was that?
That sounded like a ball bouncing.
Oh!
That's grandma.
That's her.
That's definitely her.
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Hold up there.
Oh, you can't come in the men's bathroom.
Just so you know.
Oh!
Oh, she looks really creepy there.
What the freak?
Grandma's mutated.
Ah!
We're going here.
We're going here, right?
Ah!
Freak, dude, that was so nerve-wracking.
What the freak is that?
Okay, Mills.
Time to go outside.
It's starting to snow.
I didn't realize how cold it was.
I've been cooped up in the van with my heater on.
Not realizing it has dropped
probably about
10, 15 degrees.
Alright, Mills.
Come on. Let's go.
Alright, everybody.
I'm cozied up in bed.
Both me
and Millie.
And I am feeling nice
and cozy, but also
a little spooked.
I actually don't have window covers for this van yet.
So, in the bedroom,
I use my pillows to cover up
these windows, which actually works out
because they also act as insulators
too.
It's not that bad of a thing, but
I don't have any window covers
for the front, but
I'm nice and cozy
in the van. It is
toasty in here. I don't know if you can hear it,
but my heater is running up front.
And thankfully, the way that
we have this thing angled,
all the hot air that it produces pretty much
shoots right into the bedroom, and it all
collects right in here. So,
the bedroom stays nice and warm.
And even though it is
cold outside, it feels great
inside the van. But guys,
I'm gonna get some sleep. I'm tired.
And I don't know what we're getting into
tomorrow, but I guess you'll just have to
stick around to find out.
Good night. Good morning, everyone.
It is a kinda snowy,
chilly morning
today. As a matter of fact,
I wonder what the temperature is.
Whoa. Whoa. My app says
it's 16 degrees, and it feels
like negative 7?
That's kinda crazy.
But yeah, last night, we got
a little dusting of snow.
I was kinda hoping for a lot more,
but we don't get much snow on this side
of the states. So,
just having this alone is really
nice. And it's
still flurrying a little bit.
We got a couple snowflakes falling here and there,
but I don't think we're gonna get any more,
unfortunately. But,
it is feeling real cozy in the van
this morning. I got my
coffee in my cozy, cozy, cozy
mug. Which, by the way, guys,
we only have a few of these left on my
website. TrentTheTraveler.com
If you want one of these,
now is your chance to grab them.
And I think, for the rest of the morning,
I actually need to catch up
on a lot of work. I'm very behind.
As you guys know, I took a big, long break
after I went to Iceland.
And the whole point of going to Iceland
and having so many videos there, was so I
could batch shoot and release
them over time, so I could take a break.
Because, to be honest, guys, I've been
feeling very, hate to say it, but
burnt out. But, that
break was so nice for me.
I ended up going on a cruise with my
brother, spent Christmas with the family
and it was amazing. I feel
really relaxed, rejuvenated, and
I ate some really good food.
Probably a little too much, but
eh, it's whatever. And now
I'm playing catch up, so
I am editing my Iceland
winter series right now. And then,
after that, I'm gonna be gearing
up to drive back up to
Alaska. I know you guys are looking forward
to that, I know I am. I'm excited
to take this beast of a van up there
and do some cool, cozy
gaming, just like this, but
in Alaska.
And that is going to be this spring, so if you guys
don't want to miss out on that, make sure you're subscribed
and have that notification bell turned on.
But yeah, for the rest of the morning
I'm dialed in
trying to get these videos done
so we can get back to the regular
scheduled programming here on this
channel.
Alright, this is
a nice little campsite for the night.
We got this
big, wide open space
next to this huge
graffiti rock face. And it's just
right off this forest road here. And I think
this will be a perfect place
to call home for the night.
What a beautiful van.
I can't believe that's mine.
That's my home. But guys,
enough drooling over my van. I
am going to start getting camp ready
for the night, which is basically
just me cleaning up the van.
The sun is starting to set. It's going to get cold here
soon. So I'm going to make sure the van is all
nice and cozy for the night ahead.
And, uh, who knows what
we're going to get into tonight. I might even
just game into the night again.
Because why not?
Alright, ladies and gentlemen,
dinner is served.
We've got a nice, buttery,
crispy grilled cheese. Let's look at
this cheese pull. I got
chills. And then some creamy
tomato soup.
Mmm.
And you already know
I'm going to be dipping.
It is insane how
easy and delicious this is.
But now that
the van is feeling all cozy and warm,
y'all know what time it is.
Spooky gaming time. I'm going to game into the
night. And then tomorrow morning, I'm actually
waking up super early because
my brother, Brandon,
is actually going to be joining me in the
van for a night. And we're going to be
meeting up with my friends Christian
and Jonathan. And we're going to be doing some
snowboarding. There's a ski resort down
the road here. And they're going to get some snow.
And we are going to shred
the gnar. It's going to be amazing.
And if you guys want to watch that adventure,
I'll be posting that over on my Patreon
where I post tons of bonus content
like that over there. I think I've got about
40 bonus videos there now.
So if you're not subscribed over there and you're all caught up
on my content here on YouTube, I highly recommend
you go check it out. Link in the description.
But guys, that's it for this video. If I
continued filming anymore, I feel like this
video would be 3 hours long.
But it is nice
to be back in the van making these
cozy videos. So if you guys enjoy them,
let me know in the comments below. Smash a like button
for me so I know you enjoyed this video.
And of course, if you're not subscribed,
go ahead and hit that subscribe button.
But guys, that's all that I have for you guys today.
Thank you so much for watching and coming along
on this cozy adventure. Hope to see you in the next
one. But for now, it's time
for me to get spooky. And I will see you
guys in the next video or
on my gaming channel.
Peace.
