Most would expect that to be a formality but the Black Cats have been excellent on their
return to the Premier League and arrive in West London only behind Chelsea on goal difference.
After scoring here on Wednesday night, Mark Guillaume starts a Premier League game for
the first time today against the club he started the season on loan at. He'll leave the line with
João Pedro behind him, the Brazilians return one of eight changes from Ajax. Sanchez is back in
goal, the back four is altered entirely with Garnacho and Neto in on the wings.
Two changes for Sunderland as Gertrude and Ronaldo come into the side with injured
Alderete and Rigg dropping out. Sunderland have seven players unavailable but they do include
former blue Bertrand Traore. His debut at Stamford Bridge, one Sunderland net. I was just thinking
when he received the ball all of a sudden, little bit of pressure on him this afternoon given how
well Jamie Gittins turned up in the week against Ajax and it's really direct, it's a lovely step
quickly transferred by Neto who's been so consistent recently in Chelsea colours,
quick step over not the best strike I would say in terms of it goes through the goalkeeper
rather than to the side of him through his legs but loads of power on it and just the directness
of Garnacho to be admired there, great start. He's trying to give Chelsea some width by bringing
Pedro Neto into play against Ronaldo, Lefebvre back there as well, swept him first time, brilliant
ball as well, Kukerea was in there attacking it, just couldn't quite get the connection.
Oh what a delicious ball in from the right-hand side, so much pace on it, very tricky to defend
and Hulme actually reacts very smartly. I think it took a nick at the near post which
potentially could have made it even more tricky for him with Kukerea poised to finish. Chelsea
really good from set pieces this season, six goals from corners in the Premier League already,
only one less in the whole of last season and that one's helped on and it's come to Kukerea
smacked his shot into Traore, Caicedo deflection, almost a carbon copy of Wednesday night instead
it'll be another corner. Oh what brilliant delivery, causes absolute mayhem, it's perfect,
lovely little touch on as well from Fernandes, the touch got a little bit away from Kukerea
and it's just the concentration to be admired once more from Moises Caicedo, never lets us
down in this type of situation, concentration, that's on the target. There's a loopy sort of throw
and it broke out for Traore and then it's smuggled in for the equaliser from Isidore.
Oh Mukele's long throwing caused all sorts of trouble in the Chelsea defence, they couldn't get
it away and there was Isidore to score his fourth of the season and bring Sunderland back level and
they will feel that they're worth that. Yeah certainly question marks in the Chelsea ranks
about offside but I think it's Josh Champon who doesn't get out of here, yeah he's clearly on
side that's the reason so you can't be too harsh on the Chelsea youngster, what it is though is a
from Traore on his left foot, he controls it incredibly well, that's in if it doesn't hit
João Pedro and Isidore is on the spot reacting first. Reinaldo, Le Fay, Isidore pointed where
he wanted it, came infield instead, Xhaka clever ball, Isidore heavy touch got the shot off anyway
it's the side of the net rather than the back which is rippling.
And he had an attempt first of the game probably for either side from that
exact position he was better marshalled on that occasion. And James goes near post helped on
Garnaccio and Robin Roofs didn't know much about that but he made the save.
He did incredibly didn't he Garnaccio if he got that on the target,
another wonderfully worked set piece you couldn't write it better really the way that it's been
executed near post perfect flick. Isidore, he's gonna have a pop from range and he got it
smack bang on target and stung the palms of the goalkeeper who had to turn it over for a corner.
He doesn't do it often but he's another in the Chelsea 11 that possesses good technique
and this type of range works the goalkeeper great attempt. Champon trying to get that away
Siddiqui's last man back but he was tentative in going for it and Neto's got it.
Oh passes just behind Garnaccio that allowed Lefebvre to get back and that is a really good
opportunity that has not been maximized by Chelsea. Incredibly slack from Siddiqui wasn't it
I mean he had an opportunity there Garnaccio to get control of it and then maybe feed Neto
but Siddiqui just hesitated. Champon and Isidore back up now, Kukurea, oh good cross
came for Estevelle. Well the touch is a brilliant one it's a great ball in first and foremost they
look to be what two or three takers here for Marc Kukurea. It's put into such a brilliant area
Pedro Guillou can't make it. Estevelle's touch excellent and then it's just a bit of good fortune
I think almost on the back side taking it wider the post spinning. Kukurea, Caicedo
in for Enzo Fernandez come there guide it into the net got it on target yeah really clever effort
only thing I would say available to him really put towards him at pace and possible little
nick as well just took the uh the pace off the attempt. Rhys James inside the final 20 at the
bridge Chelsea asking all the questions certainly second half Neto Estevelle headed from Enzo
Fernandez he's having plenty of efforts yeah good Estevelle nice control he does that so often I
think when the the cross isn't perfect maybe even second phase he he's bright. Here's Xhaka though
can he find room for the shot well done Joshua Champon in this phase Chelsea preparing another
change Sunderland are going to make a double sub soon and you see Jamie Gittins before too long
Enzo Fernandez good run from Estevelle flag stays down Estevelle across the face
on one drive Pedro couldn't get the touch he's timed the run brilliantly it's Hume who's
slightly deeper could he turn towards goal I know it would have been a
a spectacularly good touch had he done so but he's capable we know that
loads of Sunderland players back Estevelle wanted to cause them problems
there's three of them back there isn't there to make sure lumped up to Brobery all of a sudden
Chelsea have got a problem here Tosin manages to get in his way still Brobery and chance here to
win it and it's guided into the bottom corner by Talby in the 93rd minute Sunderland have surely
snatched it just had a feeling that it was coming they've become more adventurous as the
second half's warm on and Talby off the bench to turn in his first goal in English football
and maybe condemn Chelsea to just a second Premier League defeat at Stamford Bridge in 2025
well you knew when the ball was set back that that was going to be the finish that he tried
to execute it was just going to be a question as to whether he could do it whether he could find
the quality newly promoted Sunderland they've come from behind to win here their excellent start to
the season's taking them up to second place in the table Chelsea led after four minutes through
Alejandro Garnacho but Isidor leveled midway through the first half and Talby has won it
in stoppage time disappointment for the Blues at Stamford Bridge this afternoon
where the final score was Chelsea one Sunderland two
