2026 SKUSA Pro Tour Round 1 Highlights: Pro X30
Round one of the Scusa Pro Tour is green.
Oh, contact in the front of the field.
Lawrence all the way to the wayside and Hodgson goes wide as well.
And it is Jake Drew from the sixth row up to third
as they scatter amongst themselves into the chicane.
I was had my eye focused on Paulie Massimino and him just waiting
to get pushed all the way through the apex and cranking that wheel.
Indeed, instead, it happened a little further back.
He was able to get out cleanly.
He's got about a two or three car legs late early.
You talked about the fact a big jump there for Drew.
Turney slides into the spot.
They got to Aiden Ingrada as well, potentially up into the fourth position.
The Scusa Supernats pole award winner Jake Drew
has yet to get a Pro X 30 main event win.
And this kind of rocket ship start could open the door.
But Joe Turney is right there.
And Aiden Ingrada is as well as he gets the better
of the multi time race winner.
Joe Turney out of turn one.
Heads up move from Ingrada and Massimino feeling all the pressure
is stacking them and packing them into turn number four.
That's about ten of them deep.
Everybody with their elbows up trying to make sure
they're not going to get shuffled all the way back.
In fact, already a big low line move to the bottom for Massimino.
He'll get pushed from the back.
Big slider through.
And that's one of the GFC's around contact.
Who else is out of the outside of the corner?
Butcher and Ramos turn backwards in front of the field.
Keegan Kaminski tried to have a last second
send up the inside pile drive into the left rear tire of Sean Butcher
and Diego Ramos, like Butcher, an innocent bystander clean down in the mess.
Yeah, I hate to see that happen.
Kaminski was down the bottom, got up over top of the curbing
on the inside of turn 11 and shot him up in the air and across.
I'll give this a lot of really quick reaction time for those in the back
to be able to find a slide their way through.
There was no contact coming through.
Joe Turney sandwiched in the middle is the next best from our pre final battle.
And he wants to be the next best on the circuit.
Takes over second there.
Lawrence looking for 14th here down at turn one and up front ahead of him.
Still a lot going on.
Hodgson on the rookie Sarfati down there.
Buddy J. Jesus Vasquez Jr.
started way back outside the top 20.
He's up 16 spots, by the way, Rob.
And he just got another one on his teammate in turn one this time.
He's up to four.
Because not only is Massimino got good pace, Turney chased him.
But right now, Engrada's got his hands full.
Here comes the move to the inside.
Book it. Vasquez goes to P3.
Engrada back into fourth.
And Hodgson right there as well.
Lots of dirt and debris on the racetrack coming out of that corner.
Hodgson taking advantage to get by Engrada into five.
And so all he moves back up the board five seconds away from the lead.
Do we have a change?
We do. Joe Turney to the inside in turn one.
Yeah, that little fade to the right and the dive to the left
coming through the kink down into turn number one.
And a great run to the front for Joe Turney.
He puts that Alonso out front now for MPG Motorsports.
They are still working on developing James to get him to the high caliber
that Pro X 30 demands as we see this battle here.
There's a great bit of it on display.
And Turney equally working to develop the likes of Sergei Karomseli.
Looks like a hose has come loose on Oliver Hodgson off the radiator.
Looks like he was spitting a lot of water there coming out of turn one.
And there's contact Jake Drew up and over onto the side of Aiden Engrada.
Williams, Calvo, Vanchamp all going to move up a couple of spots.
And after that rocket ship start for Buddy J.
Jesus Vasquez, Jr., his momentum has started to fade.
His teammate now going by with Williams.
So Nico Sarfati, best of the rookies.
Well, for a moment, Macy Williams out of the inside with help from Vasquez
goes back around Sarfati.
And Hodgson certainly has something bleeding out of looks to be
more so the overflow tube.
Yeah, that was some tight racing down in turn number four.
That'll be something we'll leave up to the SCUSA official to decide on that.
But yeah, nobody was giving anybody a quarter of an inch over there
in turn four.
But this is this is a bloodbath here, Rob.
Look at this Vasquez and Nash colliding and Davin Roberts.
They're two by two into the esses.
Vasquez, Jr.
trying to hang on strong ahead of a cavalry of them.
10 deep here in the early teens.
He's stacking them up, Xander.
You can tell for sure.
Everybody's trying to find a way by.
Look, here's the move to the inside.
Finally, to get Norberg gets just drilled right there by Levi Sangara.
This is a bloodbath in the midfield right now.
Down in 11.
Levi Sangara with a Hail Mary pass that was overcooked
just sent the number two plate into the pit lane darn near Norberg
off the track and to the scales.
Yeah, no point in continuing.
I mean, he was done from that moment.
He had been on a good charge, got his way up and into the top 15
and was knocking on the door of a top ten to salvage the day.
And it was the case when Pauly Massimino was able to get the win
in Wisconsin last year over Joe Turney in those same colors
as now he goes back to the lead.
And that was a smart play by him talking about what could you take away?
He said he didn't think he could take away much from racing last weekend.
I think one note is if he has a chance in second, which unfortunately
he really never did during the first round of the two.
Turney, as we know, has all the pedigree.
He's been here before.
He's going to run the full pro tour this year.
We know he can win races.
He's a world champion.
Great to see him back with us here.
This thing is going to get good.
This is going to be 19 laps in the books, three laps to go.
When's it going to happen?
Where's it going to happen?
Will it happen?
And right now for Joe Turney, when you talk about true to form,
he has not yet won in this livery.
Now with the lead, with a big upset move there in the chicane
puts Massimino back behind him again.
Two and a half to go.
A 1v1 fight at the end of the day looming here at round number one of the pro tour.
JT's trying to to release the the afterburners here.
Pull away.
See if you've got anything left in it.
Big contact in the top ten.
Sarfati and Williams colliding in the fight for fifth.
That will promote a number of other drivers into the top ten now
as the white flag waves and the fight for the race lead.
And the win is on.
Turney versus Massimino.
When does Joe feel that Pauly's close enough?
He's going to have to block.
I feel like he's close enough.
He's going to have to do it here.
And he does.
Covers a little bit off into four.
That'll bring Pauly closer into five.
Not able to get the job done there.
And they'll head to the S's for the final time.
You know where it's going to happen, folks.
It's not going to be in the S's if it is going to happen.
If Massimino gets a run, could be turn number ten could surprise him there.
No, he needs to get a run out of here.
Here it is down the straightaway.
Good launch out of the corner, down to the bottom of the racetrack for Turney.
He's going to look around the track.
Big wide move here.
He'll park it, try to park it to the inside.
Massimino up the bottom of the racetrack.
Side by side, coming through the corner.
Not quite.
And Turney's going to come away with it.
Joe Turney almost got his pocket picked in the last turn.
He did not think Pauly was going to send it up the inside.
He was looking to the left.
And Massimino cut him a massive break there.
Joe crowded him.
He went up onto the curb.
It was clean.
A handshake at the end.
