At the foot of Mount Sam, there was a man who played a part in redrawing the map of the Mekong Delta region.
He dug canals stretching hundreds of kilometers, opening up irrigation networks for the villages.
But to accomplish that, many people never returned.
The man lying in this burial complex is the one behind the nearly 90-kilometer-long eternal canal project.
A colossal project of that era, dug by tens of thousands of laborers under harsh, desperate conditions, plagued by famine, disease, and scarcity.
And especially, he had already built his own resting place while still alive.
This is Thoi Ngoc Hau, the resting place of Thoi Ngoc Hau, a renowned figure of the Nguyen Dynasty.
He contributed to the exploration and shaping of the entire Châu Đốc region in present-day An Giang.
Step through this gate, and you'll find a completely different space, far from the cluttered chaos below.
Only ancient graves remain, silent beneath the rows of trees.
In the center is his tomb, with two ladies on either side.
All are situated in a favorable location with a money stream in front and a mountain at the back.
Before it lies the plain, behind it leans Mount Sam.
A place not just for a burial, but one that seemed preordained, even while he was still alive.
And perhaps precisely for this reason, the longer you stand here, the more clearly you will sense something difficult to name.
Not exactly fear, but enough to naturally slow your pace, then make you leave quickly.
A life of great dedication, enduring works that remain to this day, and a quiet resting place beneath the slopes of Mount Sam.
Now let's go inside together and explore what's special about this place.
Now, let's together explore the Lăng Thới Ngọc Hầu.
The pioneer of the South, everyone, developed Châu Đốc.
There are many kinds of storms, especially thunderstorms.
This is the front view of the mausoleum. I see about 10 steps leading up.
This seems to be made of honeycomb stone, you know, stone with all those holes, look, holes everywhere.
This stone seems to be found in An Giang as well, everyone.
This is the one right at the gate of Lăng Thới Ngọc Hầu.
Alright, I'll quickly pan left and right for everyone to see.
On the right side over here, I can see two flag poles.
On the right side, there will be a very large something that everyone will see.
The architectural grace of this mausoleum is truly dynamic and remarkably lofty.
The suspect was extremely tall, much taller than the average person.
The rooftops on the side of the road are so high, they're practically gaping.
Here it is something like a certain thing, you know, I myself don't know what it is.
Behind it seemed to be the path leading up to something that people were going toward.
I think it's not the one belonging to the mausoleum.
This tomb is probably located within this enclosing wall.
Just like all the previous videos.
Wherever I go, I will try to learn as much as possible about the people there.
About that, I'll come back later and then I'll blow it up to make it as accurate as possible.
That's me speaking, I'm just mentioning it briefly.
I'll follow whenever those places come around.
Now I will prepare to enter the main mausoleum.
Look, everyone, check this out.
Here is the piece from the lady official, everyone.
Over there, in the distance, is the hanging sand.
The gray, hanging cat is running up.
There, all the way up to America up there.
Up there, yesterday I already filmed it.
If I have the chance again, I'll run up later.
Now I will enter the main mausoleum area.
This is the main mausoleum area.
The gate.
There's a stele here by this gate.
A stone slab.
Above is decorated in the style where the roof is straight, as everyone knows.
He doesn't drink much.
There is a dragon on top.
There's a line of text here for everyone.
Continue to the right on this side.
On the right is a gate.
There are two gates here for everyone.
This gate and this gate.
Left, right.
Here there is a worker district.
A horse and a horseman, everyone.
On the other side, to the left, I can see a tombstone.
There are two deer ahead.
Look at this ripe persimmon here.
There's another monument here.
This is everyone's wall.
The city wall is very large.
I think this is about 2 meters high.
I'm about 1.8 meters tall, everyone.
I'm about 1.8 meters tall, but when I measure here, it's roughly 2 meters.
Here is a gate.
The gate of the wall surrounding it.
There are some written text lines.
Here is a picture of something, folks.
I won't know what this creature is, so I can't look into it.
A very large wall surrounds it.
There's an additional cannon here.
The cannon is right in front of the mausoleum's entrance.
I don't see any information listed for this cannon.
The head has been covered.
Now let's move on together.
And the Thoi Ngoc Hau Mausoleum was built during the Nguyen Dynasty.
It was built before he fell ill.
He has already built this mausoleum.
Here are the three people being worshipped.
This is Thoi Ngoc Hau.
The Wife (Primary) and the Wife (Secondary).
Now I'm going down to shoot for everyone.
This mausoleum is fully named Shan Ling Shou Yu Hou.
Here is the shrine dedicated to the revered figure Thoai Ngoc Hau.
His real name is Nguyen Van Thoi.
General Chiều Nguyễn, everyone.
There was an open campaign to develop the Western region.
Digging the Thoi Ha and Vinh Te canals.
It's located right at Mount Sam.
Back leaning against the mountain.
Built between 1829 and 1832.
It was he himself who had it built while still alive.
Its structure consists of the Zen Light Gate.
Pass through the Tâm Quang Gate.
And next is Hunt the Sacrifice.
After finishing the Săn Tế, it's time for area 19, everyone.
Both sides are dedicated to the worship of the Two Lady Deities.
There are 3 sample areas here.
Both sides are dedicated to the worship of the Two Lady Deities.
In the center is the altar dedicated to Thoi Ngoc Hau.
Back leaning against the mountain.
Looking down at the Plain from ahead, everyone.
Just like a true gentleman.
Tien Thi Hou Shan
Indeed, the esteemed Lady Qian Shi Hou Shan.
This side is the Renjia Plain.
Behind is a mountain.
There are tombstones here, but their traces are fading with time.
It has faded away completely.
The main material here is honeycomb stone.
Honeycomb stone, green stone, and ancient architecture.
It's become very blurry, everyone.
In the style of the mausoleum of Emperor Quang Trung.
But it's simple for everyone.
It is not as elaborate as the royal tombs.
The space here is very quiet and ancient.
Many old trees.
The feeling is very cozy.
These stones are very ancient.
What other characters are left?
Over time, it has faded away.
Hey everyone, there are still some letters here.
People see some words here.
No, can everyone see the text?
I also see some characters.
The carved flowers of the river.
It's also partly because of the rain and shine here, and everyone.
It wears down over time.
It's separated from the crowded areas, that's for sure.
What is particularly special here is one of the very few.
The tomb of Emperor Guang is again of high rank.
Nearly intact in the western region, everyone.
It's closely tied to a lot of very important matters.
Just like building a tomb for oneself
When they were still alive.
He mixes it himself, designs it himself
Build the tomb before the eyes.
Everyone who hears it gets chills.
Feng Shui is extremely powerful.
Front water, back mountain.
In front of me is a vast ice field,
Behind it is a mountain.
This is the operating room.
of those who participated in the excavation of the mountain
He is regarded as the pioneer who developed the Mekong Delta region.
The first victory at Dinh Te,
Nearly 90 km long.
The remarkable thing is that just a few steps away, everyone
Facing the front is the Lady Chau Su Temple.
a place that is extremely crowded
A year is millions of people visiting
But when I entered the tomb over here, it was extremely quiet.
Quiet.
Don't you all see it's completely opposite?
Its atmosphere is of an ominous type.
Just waking up, throat sore
Many people feel it is very different.
compared to the outside.
This is the main operating room, sir.
To his left is
Mrs. Chu Thanh Te
This is the main wife.
Born in 1766
1826
Earlier during his journey across Vietnam
It's me passing through Hue.
but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to visit
Any tomb of any king in Hue.
Later on, I deeply regretted it.
Someday I will never overlook it again.
The tombs in Huế.
Later on, I'll go back to visit.
Continuing
On his right is Mrs. Thứ's surgery.
Truong Thi Miet
Go up together with me today
the staircases
Everyone, look at that fence over there, everyone
This one I'm picking up is
about
nearly 2 meters
How thick is the outer wall, guys? Can you see it?
It surrounds the mausoleum.
It's very simple, everyone
A very simple tomb was built.
but it's almost still
forgotten in war, everyone
Extremely rare
This is the architecture located on the roof.
of that ancient temple complex from the proper era
I see it's doing it in a way that
tile roof
But it didn't do things the way everyone else does.
This is a straight tile roof.
Above, it is decorated with images of those things.
those mascot things, you know, people
Very beautiful
Now let's go in together with me
This is the space where people look up to worship.
Look down here
Almost all of the pavilions have been demolished.
This is the main tomb within this enclosure.
Those two sides are the places of worship.
those things
those who passed away during those excavation waves, everyone
That outer wall looks so beautiful, everyone
It's built very simply.
No frills
but it looks very elegant and dignified
the general public
Did everyone see that?
It's so beautiful.
As for these markets, I think that
No last name available
Probably going to be reburied, huh? Everyone
and construct in the style of
This picture is similar to pictures of those things
the egg
Not like the usual temples
There is an additional one here.
a different kind from everyone else
Below is constructing another type.
And over there, build a different kind
Here, it's different again.
I don't know what its meaning is either.
On this side, I feel
There is another temple.
Over here.
A temple that is quite beautiful
Which temple is so far away that it can't be seen?
Everyone, look up on the roof there
I just managed to shoot from up here on the roof.
Everyone really likes those patterns.
the simple patterns on this roof
It's incredibly beautiful, I swear.
Video about Lăn Thới Ngọc Hầu
Will end here
Standing here among the graves
and this silence
You will see something sharp and harsh.
Behind the structures that have changed
There is a land that is always a price that must be paid.
And you
What do you think of this story?
