If you thought Apple's MacBook Neo and M5 series MacBooks are great,
you haven't seen anything yet because there are still 5 more new Mac models launching this year
including a fully redesigned MacBook, so let's get started with Mac number 1.
And that is of course the Mac Studio because Apple just discontinued the Mac Pro which means
the Mac Studio is now the top Mac you can buy and this move confirms that the M5 Ultra model
is coming very soon. Now the base is going to come with the M5 Max which we've been testing
for the last couple of weeks and we know it is insanely fast. It destroys every other chip
in terms of CPU performance with over 30,000 score in Geekbench 6 multi-core and then the
40-core GPU is insane. It outperformed the RTX 5090 laptop GPU in multiple performance tests
like blender rendering, video editing, photo editing tests and more. But the main one
everyone's excited about is the M5 Ultra chip and based on everything we've seen with the M5 Max,
we know this is going to be legendary. I mean it's going to have 2 times the cores of the M5
Max so that's going to be a 36-core CPU and then an 80-core GPU. I mean that CPU is going to be
the fastest chip ever made in terms of CPU performance and then the 80-core GPU is going
to be probably faster than the RTX 5090 desktop GPU especially when you look at AI performance
since Apple's unified memory allows them to run large models. I mean up to 512 gigs
of unified memory available to that GPU. It's going to be crazy. Now speaking of AI,
the sponsor of this video opera who has been building browsers for decades
has finally achieved what an AI-first browser looks like, and with growing AI popularity,
Neon is here to help make AI usable in everyday workflows.
Starting with chat, you get access to top LLMs like GPT 5.2, Gemini 3, Nano Banana Pro,
Vo 3.1 and much more, and based on what you want to do, you can switch the models without
leaving the browser. On top of that, the Make workflow helped us create a spreadsheet for a
video we were doing by extracting text from screenshots and putting them into a clean
looking spreadsheet so that we can create charts in Final Cut Pro.
Neon also has a Discord community where you can see what other users are creating,
and all of this is really affordable at only $20 a month while you get the top LLMs at your
fingertips in all-in-one place, so check it out by using the links in the video description or pinned
comment below.
Now in terms of pricing, we're likely gonna see the same $2000 base price for the M5 Max model,
unless of course Apple wants to make the 1TB SSD standard, so that means it's gonna start at $2200,
but don't expect any further increases which is great, and we might see the same thing for
the M5 Ultra model which right now is $4000, but if they force you to get 2TB, it might be $4400.
In terms of the design, don't expect any changes at all, same ports,
no differences, it'll probably come with the N1 chip for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6,
but of course the main thing is gonna be the performance, especially for AI. I mean,
Apple recently removed the 512GB option on the current M3 Ultra Max Studio,
probably because they're saving up that RAM for the future M5 Ultra model.
And in terms of the release date, Mark Gurman recently says he's expecting it in the summer of
2026, which likely means Apple's gonna announce it at their WWDC event on June 8th.
And now for the second upcoming Mac model, that is the Mac Mini with the M5 and M5 Pro chips.
We already know those chips are very fast with certain upgrades, especially when you look at
the CPU performance, the AI performance with the dedicated MLX accelerators, and also the
ray tracing got faster as well. I mean just look at how the base M5 compared to a new
Panther Lake chip, the 358H, even faster performance which is just nuts, and it's also
almost as fast as the higher-end 386H that I recently tested in the new Razer Blade 16.
So to think that that level of performance is going into a tiny Mac Mini, that is just crazy.
But don't forget it's also getting the M5 Pro chip option which is even more insane,
I mean you're able to get the full 18-core CPU from the M5 Max in the upgraded M5 Pro model,
all in a tiny Mac Mini that's over 30,000 multi-core score in Geekbench,
over 4x faster graphics performance than the Panther Lake laptop that we tested,
2.5x faster for photo editing, 2x faster in terms of Blender 3D rendering in a Mac Mini.
And it's also gonna be a great affordable AI beast with up to 64GB of unified memory
for $2200, unless of course Apple raises the base to have the 1TB SSD,
then it's gonna be $2400, but still, that's for the full spec model,
the performance is just gonna be awesome, and we're also expecting that at WWDC.
Now for the third Mac, we have the M5 24-inch iMac. Now Mark Gurman says that those models
are coming likely after the Mac Studio update, so we might only see it in the fall,
so probably October or November, but we are expecting new color options finally.
Now Mark didn't mention which color options, but I would assume that Apple's gonna be changing
their pink, yellow, and blue colors to match what we have in the MacBook Neo, so blush,
citrus, and indigo, while they can either keep the rest of the color options or maybe get rid
of one or two of them, who knows, but it's gonna be cool. Once again, we have the powerful base
M5 chip, just like the performance we saw in the M5 Air, which is very, very fast,
except Apple might use a more bent-down version with an 8-core CPU, just like we have in the
current M4 iMac. Now for the fourth Mac we're expecting this year, this one is by far the
most exciting Mac. It's the MacBook Ultra, which previously we thought it would just be
new MacBook Pro models which would replace the new ones that just launched, but Mark Gurman said
that it's likely to be a single model that'll be even more upmarket and more expensive than
the current MacBook Pro models, potentially as much as 20% more expensive, so this likely means
that the new MacBook Ultra might even come in a 16-inch size only in order to maximize the
performance, or at least at first. Now this is rumored to have the biggest redesign that we have
seen in 10 years since 2016. According to Mark Gurman, it's gonna have a thinner design, likely
an upgraded cooling system, tandem OLED for the display with likely 1,600 nits of peak HDR
brightness, which is crazy, basically the best display ever made. It's gonna have thinner bezels
with no more notch at the top being replaced with the dynamic island with hopefully a better
selfie camera, maybe even Face ID which is my dream but it might not happen, and crazily,
touchscreen support which Mark Gurman says is coming and Apple's even working on a special
operating system change where the UI will change when you touch it so the buttons get bigger and
these settings circles around your finger for quicker setting changes, something we've never
seen before. And Apple's likely to update the port selection, potentially even add an extra port or
two, I hope, and we're also expecting 5G cellular connectivity for the first time in a Mac,
that would come with the C2 modem, I mean that would be insane.
And in terms of the performance, it's gonna have M6 series chips with the M6 Pro and M6 Max
options unless Apple goes crazy and gives us the M5 Ultra chip in a MacBook Pro, that would be
insane. Actually Apple was caught testing an M3 Ultra chip inside of a MacBook Pro that was seen
within a code leak, that would be just crazy to get an M5 Ultra, but of course that's likely not
gonna happen, that's just too much performance so the M6 Pro and M6 Max makes more sense.
Either way, it's gonna be the most expensive MacBook ever made and I am upgrading because
I still have my 16-inch M1 Max and I've been waiting for that tandem OLED display.
And then finally for the fifth Mac, it's gonna be the base 14-inch M6 MacBook Pro and that of
course is gonna come with all the advancements that Apple's gonna have with the new M6 chip
which is gonna be built on TSMC's brand new 2nm Gaffet technology which is gonna be a lot more
efficient and a lot faster, and this model has already been confirmed to be sticking to the same
exact design as it currently has, despite the new MacBook Ultra model coming with a full redesign.
Now Apple's doing that on purpose to push people to that higher-end model, so this one's gonna be
the same as usual so it's not gonna get any thinner, no touch screen, no tandem OLED, no
other changes, literally identical to the same base 14-inch that we have right now, except with
a swapped out M6 chip. And because of that, they're likely to keep their pricing the same, so
$1700 base price just like the current one.
So with that said, let me know down in the comments section which one of those 5 Macs
you're most excited for coming later this year. Definitely subscribe right there for
