We Made Pumpkin Pie For Dogs | Thanksgiving DIY Dog Treat

Guess what time it is? It's dog treat making time Oakley have a dirty nose We are going to make homemade pumpkin pie dog treat just in time for Thanksgiving Pumpkin pie dog cookies. Here we go. First thing you're gonna need is a food processor Preheat your oven to 375 What we're gonna do is we're gonna take Three quarters of a cup of whole wheat flour and Half a cup of oatmeal and we're gonna put both of those into this food processor So it's gonna chop this oatmeal up a little bit. What you want to try some dry oatmeal? Shelby wanna try some? Dry oatmeal. It's kind of crunchy Shelby's like no So we're gonna pour this and this So that this doesn't make a mess I'm just doing it this way All right. Now that it's a little bit mixed together We're going to take a quarter of a cup of applesauce and slowly add it to the food processor We had a little bit of applesauce left Want some? You eat off the spoon so nice. Here Shelby Your turn Shelby gets some Oakley, as I said, you can't have the spoon Everybody gets one more bite. Oakley You can't have the spoon. That's not part of the deal Memphis Shelby There you go. Everybody got some applesauce. So now we're gonna take about three to four tablespoons of water Add it to this while it's mixing and you want it to kind of start forming a dough ball So I ended up with about three tablespoons of water Shelby got new squeaky tennis balls. Can you tell? Looks like it formed a pretty good dough ball to me What do you think? Look like a dough ball to you? Looks like a dough ball to me Now if your dough ball is a little bit sticky You can always add a little bit more flour. When I put mine in here I could tell it was a little bit sticky You don't want to eat flour. That's gross Kind of just mold it together a little bit Now I've got a nice good dough ball Wanna eat it? I'm just kidding. Wanna play ball? Wanna play catch? Wanna play catch? You're like, yes, I would like to play catch. Now, we're gonna put a piece of wax paper out on the table I'm gonna take our dough ball, flatten it out a little bit And we're gonna want this probably about a quarter of an inch Now you're gonna need a muffin tin, whatever size you decide to use. We're using a regular size muffin tin Spray a little bit of nonstick spray. Not a lot, but just a little And then I found a Pyrex dish that's about four inches around. What we're gonna do now is we're gonna cut circles out of this dough So basically what you have is a little mini pie crust Lightly down into the muffin tins Kind of be folded a little bit So when you're all done, it should look about like that. I ended up with six of them I probably could have stretched the dough a little bit and got eight, but I'm gonna go with six Since I have three dogs, that'll be three for each. So now we've got leftover dough. What do you think? Good stuff? Wanna try it? Good stuff? Wanna try some, Shelby? Shelby's like, no, I'm napping. Come on, Shelby! Oh, are you napping? Here! Is that good? One more? You like it? Look at your dirty feet, Oakley. Oh my goodness. Oakley was digging in the leaves. Can you tell? Here, Shelby. There you go. All right! Now we're gonna go put these in the oven for eight minutes at 375 After eight minutes take them out of the oven and now you need to let them cool Completely in the little pans. They should come out pretty easily Mine are still pretty warm, but they should all slide out real easy. Just like that Now you want to let them cool completely in the pan Not yet girls Not yet Now that our little crusts are cool. We can now fill them. This is Canned pumpkin not pie pumpkin just regular pumpkin It doesn't have all the added sugars and stuff like that. And all we're gonna do is scoop it into the little pie crusts Fill them right up Alright, we got some left How come you had to be first? You jumped up on the table. I know you guys like pumpkin. That's good stuff, huh? So that is about what they're gonna look like when they're full of their pumpkin You can put them in the fridge if you want to another thing you can do which is completely optional is you can take you can take a little bit of yogurt and you can put it on top and it'll look like Kind of like Cool Whip Probably gonna want to use Greek yogurt though, cuz I think if I do it with this yogurt It's gonna be just a little bit too runny We'll try it. See what happens So there you have it Doggy pumpkin pies just in time for Thanksgiving. I think they turned out pretty cute. Would you girls like to try them? Well, they're super excited So let's see what they think Memphis got one. Oakley got one Shelby got one Memphis's is gone Oh you're getting pumpkin all over my carpet Look the other two girls Look how nice Shelby's being Oakley at least ate hers out of her bowl Memphis took hers all over the carpet all over the carpet. Hey, that was Shelby's bowl And of course Shelby finishes last Is it good Shelby? I don't know if you know a few other two girls even tasted it. You're like and it's gone Well, I think those were a win Freeze them. I think that's what I'm gonna do with the other three I'm gonna freeze them and they'll get them on Thanksgiving. Yep. That's what will happen Yeah, look at her. She's like, mmm, it's delicious.
