🔥 THAI SELECT: http://www.thaiselect.com/ 🎥 WATCH: Eating Thai Street Food in Bangkok, Thailand - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sr6fta2zuk In today’s video, I’m teaming up with Thai Select to show you two of Miami’s most authentic Thai restaurants! Come along with me as I go on a Thai street food tour in my hometown of Miami!
Restaurants that are certified by Thai Select in the U.S. must have least 60% authentic Thai food on their menu and use the same, or similar, cooking methods that are used in Thailand.
At my first restaurant, Rin Asian Cuisine, I met the cooks and headed into the kitchen. First, they made nam sod with ground pork, ginger, shallots, onion, and cilantro. Next was goong pad ma-khuw, which is shrimp with Japanese eggplant and basil. They briefly fried the eggplant to make the skin crispy.
Next was the kao soi, one of my favorite dishes from northern Thailand, which I loved in Chiang Mai. They made it with coconut milk, curry powder, fish sauce, and sugar, and poured the mixture over noodles and topped it with crispy fried katsu chicken.
At my table, I started with the Thai shumai, which contain crab, pork, chicken, mushrooms, crispy garlic, and cilantro. I loved the different flavors! The crispy garlic was outstanding!
Next was the nam sod, which was a smorgasbord of textures! The combination of ginger and spice was amazing, and the sweetness, spiciness, and tartness was on point! It was refreshing and nutty as well!
My next dish was the goong pad ma-khuw. The shrimp were unbelievable! It was sweet, and the eggplant had an amazing texture—crispy but soft on the inside.
Then, I tried the crispy duck with coconut milk, basil, peas, tomatoes, bell peppers, and pineapple. The coconut flavor of the curry took me back to Thailand. It was a flavor explosion in my mouth. It wasn’t spicy and everything perfectly complemented one another! The star of the show was the kao soi. The katsu chicken was lightly fried and the sun noodles were perfect! It’s such a creamy and crunchy dish, and the curry takes it to the next level!
Then, I finished up with a dessert with longan, tapioca balls, and corn. It was creamy and gooey with nice gelatin balls! Then, I checked out their beautiful decor. They had Buddhas, Siam Kings, and some poignant sayings written in Thai!
Next, I headed to Siam Bistro, which was just a 5-minute drive north. There, I met Khun, who took me to the kitchen to make the Three Friendship (Thai barbecue chicken with papaya salad). She made some sticky rice and marinated the chicken in garlic, black pepper, oyster sauce, curry, and more. It looked so beautiful!
My favorite Thai dish is papaya salad, and she made some spicy for me! It contained green papayas, chilies, garlic cloves, and peanuts! Next was Pla Ma Muong (fried fish with tempura vegetables and curry sauce).
At my table, I started with the Three Friendships, which had a beautiful presentation! The chicken was amazing with the herbs and the sticky rice was nice and sticky, and the papaya salad was spicy, crunchy, and refreshing, just the way I like it! It was full of tropical flavors!
The Pla Ma Muong had an amazing Thai curry with red peppers and mango, which was super refreshing. The snapper was lightly battered and fried. It was crispy and crunchy! Next was longan tea, which was so good! The longan fruit in it is like a lychee. Then, I finished up with some yummy dragonfruit! All of the food came from Khun’s garden!

This is one of my favorite appetizers ever. Wow. The spiciness, oh it's getting hot.
Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing amazing. This is David Hoffman from David's Bin here.
Today I'm working with Thai Select to show you some of the most authentic Thai cuisine in my
hometown of Miami, Florida. So Thai Select is a program that certifies Thai restaurants here in
the United States that offer at least 60% authentic Thai food on their menu. That means that the
restaurants chosen by Thai Select use the same or at least similar cooking methods that they use
in Thailand. Some of the restaurants may also import ingredients directly from Thailand.
It's not a food rating system and it doesn't endorse any restaurant quality standards but
you can be sure that any restaurant that has this certification is the real deal. Today we're going
to two amazing Thai restaurants. We're going to start off at Rin Asian Cuisine and then we're
going to Siam Bistro. Both of these restaurants were the top voted on my YouTube community wall.
I'm gonna have two dishes at each one and I can't wait. It's been a long time since I've
eaten Thai food. I love Thai food. Papaya salad. Oh my god, I cannot wait. Guys, let's go eat some
delicious Thai cuisine. Follow me. Welcome to Miami, Florida. Super sunny day in summer. Really,
really hot. Very similar to Thailand. Humidity. I love it. Born and raised here in Miami. This is my
favorite place on the planet. Oh man, today's gonna be exciting guys. I'm super hungry. We're
gonna be eating two amazing dishes here at Rin Asian Cuisine and Rin Asian is actually located
by Tamiami Airport. So I live in South Miami which is this neighborhood and I'm driving over there.
It's roughly about a 20-minute drive and we're gonna have two amazing dishes. One of them is
from North Thailand which I love. It's Khao Soi and the other one is Pad Ma Kwa which is shrimp
and Japanese eggplant with basil. So good. So delicious. Refreshing. Lots of vegetables and
if you want, you can make it really spicy. So we're almost there. Rin Asian Cuisine. Let's go.
And after a 20-minute drive, we are here at Rin Asian Cuisine. Let's go inside and meet the owner.
Hey, how you doing? Hi, how are you? What's up? I am ready to eat some Thai food. All right,
we have plenty for you. I'm ready for you. So we're going to the back. Let's go. Today,
we're gonna make some Nam Saad. What it is is ground pork with fresh ginger,
onions and peanuts. You like that, right? I love it. And it's spicy. That's the best part about
Thai cuisine. It's super spicy. You can add the chilies with the fish oil. Oh, it's the best.
So besides the two main dishes, we're also gonna make two appetizers. Steamed dumplings and then
what's the other one? The Nam Saad. Nam Saad. And what's Nam Saad? Nam Saad, what it is is ground
pork cooked with fresh ginger, shallots, onion, cilantro. So we're blanching this eggplant to
stir-fry eggplant with jumbo shrimp. So basically, you just hit it with a little bit of oil so the
skin stays crispy. Excellent. Awesome. Wow. Smells amazing. The aroma. So he started off
with the shrimp. Then he added the eggplant. And then you added basil. Basil. And bell pepper.
Bell pepper. Perfect. Wow. I mean, the smell. I mean, whoa. That's so good. So next up,
we have the Khao Soi. Very famous dish from Northern Thailand. You can eat it all over
Chiang Mai. What she did, she put coconut milk with curry powder, a little fish sauce because
Thai food, you can't have without fish sauce, and a little sugar to balance the flavor out.
So she poured the chicken on top noodles and then we put the chicken on top so it'll be crispy
from here to the table. Perfect. After seeing how they make all these delicious dishes,
it's time to eat. I don't know how I'm gonna eat it all, but I think I am. All right, guys,
here's my feast. We have one, two, three, four, five different dishes. I mean, we're supposed to
have two, but they just wanted me to try more stuff. So we're starting off with the Thai Shumai,
which are basically their dumplings. So it has crab, pork, chicken, mushroom, and then on top,
you have crispy garlic and coriander or cilantro. Oh my god. Just like this, right? Yeah, just like
that. Chopsticks, diving in. So many different flavors. I love the crispy garlic. That's
awesome. Different flavor completely, man. Whoa. Not too spicy. Not too spicy at all. Starting.
Starting, right? Yeah, because once you jump into those dishes, you get to the real heat.
I love it. Yeah. Delicious. A little sweet too in that sauce. A little sweet. I can eat this all day.
Next appetizer is this one, which is called? Namsot. Namsot. What is this? It's ground pork,
fresh ginger, fresh shallots, chilies, and then cilantro on top. Wow, look at this. So
you're gonna have crispy, you're gonna have spicy, you're gonna have a little sweet, right?
Here we go. With ginger. Spiced. Oh man, I love it. Crunchy. Super spicy. Yeah. Super
spicy. With Thai food, you have to have trifecta of flavors. You got sweet, you got a little salty,
and a little tarty, but spicy is always a must. I mean, for me, this is my type of dish, you know?
Spicy, crunchy. Yeah, it's refreshing too. The aromatics in there. Ginger, you got the cilantro,
shallots. Also the peanuts. Peanuts. Give it a crunchy texture. The nutty flavor.
This is one of my favorite appetizers ever. Yeah? Wow. The spiciness.
It's getting hot. If you guys don't know about Thai cuisine, they love spice. Could be like 100
degrees outside, be walking the streets of Bangkok, and you go out and you get some spicy food,
and just like, you know, cool it down with some like coconut milk or something. Oh, it's an
amazing dish. Another great dish. I'm gonna have to cool down. Jumbo shrimp with eggplants.
What a dish. So how do you suggest I eat this? Just like, Devin, maybe just grab one? Just grab
one. A little shrimp, a little eggplant. Oh man, that shrimp. Sweet too. I love the eggplant. Oh,
the eggplant is super good with the basil we have here. Because we blanch our eggplant first,
so it stays crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This is one of the things I love
about Thailand is that they mix delicious seafood, amazing, you know, poultry meats with
vegetables, and then obviously they add chilies. Chilies is a big thing. And here we have the
number one thing in Thailand, which is basically chilies with fish oil, right?
I mean, for this one, I don't think you really add it, right? You add it to one of these. Yeah,
I told them I love spicy food, so they went like all out with the spice. Spice level is like
Thailand spice. But I gotta say, the eggplant, it's amazing. Like, it's amazing. I'm a big
eggplant guy. I think in India they call it brinjal or something. Brinjal. Oh, it's so good.
Crispy and super soft in the middle, mixed with the sauce here. Maybe a little more.
I cannot stop eating this, man. Wow. The one dish you have to try when you come here is this
one. The best, right? The best. Best in town. And next up we have duck curry. So it's crispy
duck with basils, peas, tomatoes, bell peppers, and pineapple? Pineapple and basil. Fresh basil.
And basil. Duck curry. So I'm just gonna start from the side. Get some of that delicious...
That's Thailand right there, man. Taste the coconut. Yeah, coconut. The curry. The yellow
curry, right? So you gotta mix the basil, bell pepper, pineapple, and the duck, and you get an
explosion in your mouth. So many different flavors, textures. The basil complements the duck,
the pineapple complements the red pepper, red bell pepper. What, dude? And then you can taste like
the coconut milk, you know? Wow. Oh my god. So good. Not spicy at all, this one. Like, limited.
So many different vegetables. That is really the best part about Thai cuisine,
the vegetables. Just gonna have a little more duck with some pineapple.
I love the crispiness of the duck. It's a little fatty. Yeah, you really taste the tropical. I mean,
mixing it like this. And here we have the star of the show, the khao soi. Sun noodles, chicken katsu,
crispy noodles on top, shallots, cilantro on top, and then Thai curry mix, yellow curry,
and coconut milk. This looks amazing, dude. Oh, I love this dish. This is an awesome dish. My wife
and I had it when we were in Chiang Mai. Blew us away. A nice, lightly fried chicken. Oh man,
and the sun noodles. Oh wow. So I crack this, you know? Crack a little bit. Oh yeah. So good.
Put it up. Wow, look at this. As you can see, nice sun noodles. This comes from ramen houses
in New York. And you have the katsu chicken. Bomb dish. Creamy. Creamy. So creamy. Crunchy,
different texture. Creamy, crunchy, different textures. I love the curry. Yeah. Curry is
phenomenal, man. It goes really good with the noodles. Yeah, man, it blends well. Yeah. Usually
the khao soi in Thailand is a little watery, but over here, we make it, the curry sauce really
thick. So it blends with the noodle really good. It's, like you said, it's different because it's
way more creamier. The mixes of different curries with this delicious, man, look at these noodles.
Coconut milk. Can't beat it. I want a piece of chicken. All right, David, before you finish,
we've got dessert for you here. We have longan, tapioca balls, fresh young peanuts, and corn.
What I love about Asian desserts, it's always like this. You have like yummy, gooey balls.
Yeah. Always. This is amazing. Look at this. Wow. And is that corn?
You can smell the milk. Smell the coconut milk. Wow.
Oh, man, those little balls. Gelatin. The coconut milk. It's hot. Oh, delicious. It's like sweet.
So different. Like Western and Eastern, how they do this. You know, over there, they don't do like
ice cream and chocolates and stuff. It's more like this. This is the thing you get. Guys,
like I want to have one more bite because I still have to go to another restaurant and have two more
dishes. Maybe one more bite. Amazing, man. Coconut flesh. All right, guys, we are done here
in Rin Asian Cuisine. Delicious food. I love the interior of this restaurant. You can see over here
we have, you know, the Buddhas, right? Siam, Siam Kings. Over here, we have a Buddha. And I like
this. Over here, they have some sayings here in Thai, but next to it, they translate. So thinking
before speaking, speaking then doing, doing after thinking. Really cool. Really motivational.
This food is amazing. I mean, delicious food. Everything was fantastic. Hey, thank you so much.
Thank you for coming here, dude. No, thank you. Thank you so much. And I'll go to the other
restaurant soon. For sure. All right, my friends, that was amazing. Rin Asian Cuisine. So freaking
delicious. And now we're going to another restaurant, Siam Bistro. It's about a 15-minute
drive north. Let's go. My mistake. I thought it was like a 15-minute drive north. It's actually a
5-minute drive north. It's right here. I can't wait. Papaya salad for sure. Siam Bistro. Here we come.
And here we go. Siam Bistro. Delicious Thai food. Hey, how are you doing? David, pleasure. Nice to
meet you. Nice to meet you. All right. Papaya salad is my favorite with some spicy chilies and fish
sauce. Can you take the spicy? I do spice every day. Okay, perfect. All right, so we're in the
kitchen and we're making the three friendship, which is basically mango, chicken, papaya salad.
Most of these ingredients come from their garden. So real authentic. Yeah, organic. Organic, organic.
So right here, she's making sticky rice, right? She uses chicken thighs because it's more tender.
So right now, she's adding all the herbs to marinate the chicken. So garlic, black pepper,
curry. We've got the oyster sauce, sugar. So we're marinating the chicken, but to save time,
she already put one on the grill for us. As you can see, golden, beautiful color,
nice and crispy. And now what we're going to do is we're going to do the papaya salad.
My favorite, my favorite thing to eat in Thailand. Papaya salad and make it spicy. Spicy always.
She threw a garlic clove in there. She threw some chilies and then also the green papaya.
Next up, she's going to throw some peanuts. So we finished that dish. Next one is called
Pla Ma Muang, which is basically fried fish with vegetable tempura, which is basically fried
vegetables and then some curries. It's going to be amazing. Also alongside it is mango. Yes. Oh,
this is going to be awesome. So first step, she adds the flour, the fish, and then put it in the
fryer. The first thing she added was coconut milk, then curry powder. She also added sugar and fish
sauce. That's it. That's how she makes the delicious curry. So here she added onions,
mango, and red, red pepper. Awesome. All right, my friends. So we're going to try both these
amazing dishes. And we're starting off with the three friends, right? Three friendship,
papaya salad, amazing chicken. And here we have the sticky rice. I love how you guys bring it
like this is beautiful. Love the presentation. So the way I'm going to do is I'm going to try
each one separately, right? So right here we have the chicken. I love it. The smell,
the herbs, the garlic. I feel like just having it alone is not enough. You got to like change
the textures and the flavors here. That sticky rice. I love it. The hand. Yeah. I'm going to
do it like this for now. Yeah. They only use their hands, right? And here we have the amazing
papaya salad. The best. This is my favorite, favorite thing to eat in Thailand. Every single
day I have a papaya salad. It doesn't matter where I go. And it only costs like a dollar,
you know? And people don't know, like if you've never been to Thailand, you don't know about this
dish, but it's basically just green papaya, which is very different than the papaya we have here
mixed in with chilies, uh, you know, garlic, tomato, peanuts. It's crunchy, refreshing.
Oh, it's hard to leave this. I never leave this dish.
I'm going to do what you said. Grab the sticky rice like this.
Everything's tastier with your hands. Oh, look at this. The sticky rice is like that.
Break off some chicken and straight. So what I like about this dish is that you have all these
different contrasts of flavors, right? Sticky rice. Then you have the chicken that has been
marinating with all these herbs, pan fried, right? Or on the pan. And then you have the
amazing papaya salad, which is like a burst of just tropical flavors. The whole thing,
even papaya salad, you just go straight in. Oh, no, just go straight in like that.
Oh, so much better. And what's awesome about the chicken is it's almost like a barbecue chicken,
even though it's been pan fried. Chicken with sticky rice, the best. In Thailand, always.
Mango fish. So it's fried fish with curry, right? So we have the Thai curry here with,
it's got some mango, red pepper, obviously here on the side as well. So we do is just go here,
cut it. Wow. Look at this. Delicious. Oh my God. It's amazing.
The curry is actually like really refreshing. So it's coconut milk mixed with a few different
things, right? Plus adding the vegetables. That is the winning combination with the fried fish.
It's not like crazy fried. It's almost like light batter, you know?
And we have mango, my favorite. That's why I love living in South Florida. Mango all day,
just like Thailand, right? This is fried snapper. No wonder it's so good.
Love fried snapper. So you just got to mix everything together, right? This is like
nice and crispy, little crunchy and having the mango in there just adds like an extra
nice flavor to it. The mango with the Thai curry. Delicious. Perfect combination.
Wow. And here we have a drink. This is longan tea. This is the fruit. I had this earlier in my
dessert at Rin Asian. So basically it's similar to a lychee from my understanding, right? I've
had it always in Asian countries. Oh, it's amazing tea. My friend here wants me to taste
the amazing fruit. Look at this. Beautiful. Yeah. So this is basically like a type of lychee
from Thailand. Oh yeah. So by the way, all the herbs that we just ate in those two dishes
come from her garden plus this dragon fruit. She picked it today. We're eating it right now.
It's one of the things I love about Thailand is that everything is super fresh.
Always comes from like somebody's garden, you know, from the field, from the farm,
almost never frozen. Alright guys, last bite. Alright, I'm done. I feel your energy. You feel
my energy? Yeah. You know, when I saw the video, I think something, but when I saw like you come
here, I feel a lot of energy. My friends, thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Amazing.
Thank you for stop by. Thai Select.
Alright, my friends, we did it. We explored two amazing Thai restaurants, Rin Asian Cuisine
and Siam Bistro, both serving up delicious, authentic Thai cuisine. Obviously, Thai Select,
60% of the food in these restaurants have to be authentic. As you saw, most ingredients here
come from Thailand or farmers that are Thai in homestead. Also here at Siam Bistro, most of the
ingredients come from her garden. Amazing. Guys, if you're ever in Miami, come out here to Canada.
Come to both these restaurants. They are delicious. You will die. I mean, papaya salad here and
obviously the prawns, the tiger prawns at Rin Asian were the best. My favorites. Well, guys,
I hope you love this video. If you did, please give me a thumbs up. Leave me a comment below.
